2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: invest into alt coins after every all time high? on: January 19, 2021, 06:23:00 AM
If you are converting your fiat, or some of the other non-crypto assets to altcoin, then I guess it's OK. But if you are planning to convert some of your Bitcoin holdings to altcoin, then I would warn you that it is going to be a historic blunder. Many of the alts are resembling over-inflated bubbles right now and they can burst at any point. All it takes is a small trigger and you will see 90% of your capital wiped out.

I also think that Sourav Ganguly is not fully mentally ready to be the president of the ICC at the moment. He will serve as the President of BCCI for a few more years. Then maybe he will fight for the presidency of ICC. And if he wants to fight for the presidency, BCCI is ready to give him full support.

That depends on a few things. Sourav Ganguly is reported to be close to BJP, the ruling party of India. The next Indian general elections are due in mid-2024. So he needs to make his moves before that, if he want assured support from the BCCI and the Indian government. But the biggest challenge is likely to be from the smaller countries, who don't want anyone from the big 3 as the ICC chairman. The relations are likely to sour further, as India has announced that they are not going to take part in this year's Asia Cup. Also, there are rumors that the IPL window may be extended for another month, eating up around 25% of the international calendar.

including amnesty to illegal immigrants

america. the country of descendants of migrants.. that seem to hate migrants.
hey if you dont want people coming into america. then lock yourself in and have no escape. because if other countries had american attitudes about america then america would become a prison camp.

seems trumpettes dont believe in freedom and liberty

No one hates immigrants. Trump and most of the GOP supporters don't have any problem with legal immigrants. However, they don't feel very comfortable with the 10-15 million illegal immigrants who reside in the United States. There is a big difference between legal and illegal immigrants. Apart from the United States, I don't think that there is any other country in the world which tolerates this many illegals in their territory. Freedom and liberty doesn't mean inviting half of the world population to your house. If they want to immigrate to the US, then they need to do that legally.

Looks like this match is also headed for a draw. Till Shubham Hill was batting I felt that India had a chance of reaching the target of 328 but now it seems they would like to keep their wicket and play till the day ends. Do not know what will happen at the later stages of the match.

I believe that still there is a good chance of a win, for either Australia or India. A maximum of 37 overs remain in this match, and India needs another 145 runs to win. That is still less than 4 runs per over. On the other hand, Cummins/Hazlewood/Lyon seems to be in very good form and therefore Australia would also try hard for a win. As long as Rishabh Pant is there, I have my hopes. And the last thing I want is another rain interruption.
2385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 04:27:28 AM
He is a good bowler and helps his side a lot in ODI and Test matches. Yeah he is struggling in later test matches in this series but I think he got off with decent start , I mean taking wickets in first two Tests. I think Australian team is still gonna trust him since he is the spearhead on whom his team relies on usually. He is the one often leading the pace. And I still think Langer will still be trusting him in next matches. I would have agreed with you if the bowler wasn't delivering a good line and length and wasn't taking wickets for quite some matches (not 1-2  matches is what I mean since it is Test)

And btw he is quite a batsman as well. He recently in Sheffield Shield was so close to century until his captain declared the side. Tongue .

Consistency is lacking with Starc, and this is not a new phenomenon. I have noticed this ever since the Ashes series of 2019. At least in this match, he is proving to be a massive handicap for the Australians. BTW, India has lost their third wicket, and now Rishabh Pant has come to the crease. As long as Pant is out there, Indians would fancy their chances of a win.
2386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 19, 2021, 04:15:03 AM
ISL is becoming very interesting. I Can't see any competition for the top spot in the points table. But the second place may change very soon. ATK Mohun Bagan is just 2 points ahead of Goa at the moment. On the other hand, East Bengal, which is at the bottom of the points table, has improved. Now East Bengal is in the ninth position. But, the most interesting thing is that they have not lost in any of the last 5 matches

ATK Mohun Bagan was doing good, but after their loss to Mumbai City FC they seems to have lost their momentum. After that match, they had a draw against FC Goa. Their next match is against Chennaiyin FC and if they can win that match, then the second place will be in no danger. But Chennaiyin has performed beyond expectations for this season.
2387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 03:51:54 AM
Less than 50 overs remaining, and India still having 8 wickets in hand. All the three outcomes are possible even now - win for either of the two sides, or a draw. No signs of rain as of yet, and I am hopeful that today there will not be any rain interruptions. And once again, Mitchell Starc is proving to be the weak link in the Australian bowling lineup. I would like him to be dropped for the next series.
2388  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: January 18, 2021, 04:13:13 PM
Just to clarify a little bit, I am attaching the screenshots.

When I click on the purchase button, this is what I get (4 Amazon gift cards for BTC0.007748).

However, just before the "confirm payment" step, this amount changes from BTC0.007748 to BTC0.008484.

I never faced this issue before and therefore I am not sure about the reason.
2389  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: January 18, 2021, 01:25:21 PM
price is being given as BTC0.00203800
~Snipped~
amount suddenly changes to BTC0.00223800.
Are you sure that 0.0002BTC was added and not 0.0001BTC only?

Can anyone tell me from where this additional 10% charge is coming up?
As mentioned "before", there's an added 0.0001BTC fee for funding [or direct purchases] your accounts with less than 0.004BTC.

Top-ups under 0.004 BTC incur a fee of 0.0001 BTC

I topped up my wallet with BTC0.030, and was using the account balance to purchase Amazon gift cards. I know that there is a charge for deposits under BTC0.004, but that is not the case in my transaction. I never make top-ups below that amount. At the time of purchase, my Bitrefill account balance was around 0.026 BTC. Also, earlier when I purchased gift cards for a higher amount, I was charged BTC0.00444200 instead of BTC0.00404200 that was shown before the "confirm payment" option came up. So I don't think that the limit of 0.004 BTC has to do anything with this.

It seems to be a flat 10% fee instead of BTC0.0001.
2390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is pointless if the BTC fees increases along with rise in BTC price! on: January 18, 2021, 06:23:29 AM
Back in 2012, when I first got cryptocurrencies in my wallet, the transaction fee for Bitcoin was around $0.01. Now it is almost 500 times that amount. And if the trend continues, within the next 3-4 years we will be paying $100 or $200 for a single transaction. Lightning is not the solution for this. The only real solution is to increase the block size. Miners are going to oppose, but for the greater good this should be done.
2391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 18, 2021, 05:55:05 AM
Na bhai, i wouldn't count them out at any case. Starc/Cummins are champion bowlers, yes Starc didn't get wickets but he was unlucky on many occasion. One good spell of Starc/Cummins could change everything and we can't rule out 4th inning chase factor. I would say its 55%-45% chance in favor of Australia.

If this time Rohit gets a soft dismissal then he deserve full on MC, BC including his fans hehe.  Grin Tongue

-----
And Wicket...

247/8... 280 lead

I can agree to some extent as far as Pat Cummins is concerned. He picked up wickets, although after conceding a lot of runs. But Starc looked out of form ever since the start of the series. The only consistent bowler was Josh Hazlewood, and he alone can't guarantee a win for Australia. Anyway, now the lead has grown to 294. Anything above 300 would be tough for India.
2392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin outperforming Gold on: January 18, 2021, 05:44:50 AM
Actually this is interesting. I was expecting the gold prices to go up significantly, as the fiat currencies are getting devalued. But that is not happening. One theory is that in countries such as India, a lot of people are selling their gold holdings. Huge number of people have become unemployed as a result of COVID 19, and some of them are surviving by selling whatever bullion holdings they have.
2393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: January 18, 2021, 05:32:48 AM
I am having a doubt regarding Bitrefill, and will be very grateful if anyone could help me. I am using this site for more than a year, to purchase gift cards. I never faced any issue until now. But recently, I have noticed one issue. For example, when I am purchasing an Amazon gift card, the price is being given as BTC0.00203800. However, before the confirmation of payment, the amount suddenly changes to BTC0.00223800. Earlier this issue was not there and I was paying the actual price of the gift card. Can anyone tell me from where this additional 10% charge is coming up?
2394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits $40k on: January 18, 2021, 05:22:19 AM
The M1 money supply for the United States Dollar has almost doubled in just 12 months. This will have a huge impact on inflation in the coming years. Assets which are protected against inflation, such as gold and Bitcoin are expected to rally. And even more worrying is the fact that the stimulus measures are expected to continue for at least one more year. This will further devalue the US Dollar.
2395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Own only a small amount of bitcoin? Regardless, DON'T LOSE THEM. on: January 18, 2021, 05:06:18 AM
This was one mistake that I did very early during my association with Bitcoin. Back in 2012, giveaways were very common in this forum, and I was receiving BTC0.01 or BTC0.02 quite often. But I never took the necessary steps to backup my wallets, and in the end lost a considerable portion of what I earned from airdrops, faucets and giveaways. I don't know the exact amount, but it should be worth at least a few tens of thousands of USD now.
2396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adult companies and bitcoin? on: January 18, 2021, 04:56:20 AM
It’s i think another forward step for bitcoin, pornhub is a world biggest porn industries, which their are huge amount of customers and visitors worldwide, if they are facing any problem for selling or buying by regular payment method than cryptocurrency is the just another way of dealing with their customers, bitcoin is a currency like other paper money so they will can use it comfortably.

Christian organizations (especially Exodus Cry) are trying to close down all the porn sites. They are pressuring payment processors to end their association with porn sites, and this was the reason why Visa/Master terminated their contract with Pornhub. Next in line would be gambling sites and even dating sites. Anyway, this is good for the adoption of Bitcoin. Now people would realize the benefits of making payments with BTC.
2397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to still make a good return from Bitcoin? on: January 18, 2021, 04:29:53 AM
As the same question to those who made the investment at ATH levels, during the previous rallies. I am someone who made my investment in 2012, when the exchange rates were really low. But I know a few users who made their move at ATH levels in 2013 December and some who did the same in 2017 December. Those who held onto their coins (only a few did) are in very good profit now.
2398  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump has been impeached for the 2nd time on: January 18, 2021, 04:19:52 AM
10 Republicans crossed over partisan lines and voted with Dems to impeach him.

Strategically, the Dems had to make the move as it puts Republicans in an impossible position - A) denounce their leader, or B) be seen as complicit in (and supportive of) the storming of the Capitol and the attempt to subvert democracy.

It will be interesting to see how many Republicans stand alongside the Democrats once the actual trial takes place. I think there is actually a reasonable chance of Dem success, as more Republicans will surely desert their master after what I suspect will be a messy few days as we approach the Biden inauguration. All 50 states are on alert for armed protests. There will be attacks, most likely fatal attacks, which will likely face a stronger police response than last time, and an aftermath in which Republicans will face a difficult choice and be forced to take a side.

It is possible that many more GOP legislators would denounce Donald Trump. IMO, the GOP should distance itself from Trump as soon as possible. Trump fell into the trap set by the ultra-left despite repeated warnings. Now it is his problem. But if the GOP doesn't distance itself from his actions, then Biden/Kamala may use this opportunity to set their agenda in motion, including amnesty to illegal immigrants, increasing the strength of the SCOTUS and granting statehood to Puerto Rico.
2399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 18, 2021, 03:53:11 AM
^^ Game is very much open for both the teams, anything could happen from here, all 3 results are on the card. Having said that Australia do have slight advantage as ball turning for spinners and some uneven bounce could come into play due to cracks, its already happening.

And Smith gone..

196/5 and lead is 229 runs

No total can be considered as safe for Australia, because of the pathetic state of their bowling attack. Starc/Cummins have failed to take wickets and even Nathan Lyon has been expensive. Josh Hazlewood is the only bowler who has taken wickets regularly. Even if they ends up with a lead of above 300, India would be fancying their chances, especially after what happened in the last match.
2400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About 20% of all Bitcoin (BTC) in circulation was lost – Study shows on: January 17, 2021, 05:22:43 PM
The figure of 3.6 million BTC sounds right for me. Even my initial days I was careless with some of my wallets. I believe that I would have lost at least BTC0.10 due to carelessness in backing up the wallets. Back then, it was not a big amount. Bit now the same amount of coins are worth $3,500. I lost most of these coins, when I failed to backup Instawallet addresses. I had the option of contacting Instawallet admin, but I was too lazy to do that in 2013.
