241  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PayWithUs - Virtual cards - NO KYC. Pay with Crypto. on: April 09, 2024, 02:26:37 PM
We are thrilled to introduce the 'Custom Name' feature. From now, we can issue a card with your desired name upon request.
Users can enter any name they want?
And would the custom name match the physical address that is used for specific card?
This can be important when ordering something from internet that needs to be delivered, and merchants are sometimes checking this information.
242  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitMixList.org - Bitcoin Mixer List on: April 09, 2024, 02:22:55 PM
That's a great idea! But it can't be a separate page, as many of the sites are single-page variants. A section on the main page should do, but I will have to make it detailed.
Maybe you can create a separate section in the bottom of the page to be used just for seized mixers.
Things that should be included for this is archived link (to avoid original pages getting deleted), screenshot would be nice, and information about exact authority that performed a seizure.

243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase backup against natural disaster areas on: April 09, 2024, 02:08:38 PM
The only way is to use Cloud backup in other to completely avoid data loss during any disaster .
This is the one of most stupid ways to save backup ever.  Tongue
First because it's online, and second because this is on someone else computer drive, that has much higher chances of getting hacked and exploited in future.
Note that if you continue posting plagiarism junk like this you will soon be banned from this forum!
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 09, 2024, 02:03:42 PM
Old smart phones can be infected with malware even before you turn it to an airgapped device, i will say OP should rather stick to the hardware if they are serious about holding their coins securely.
Even an average grandpa and grandma can click and a button and reset smartphone to it's factory settings, everyone else can install open source alternative like GrapheneOS, LienageOS or DiverstOS.
When I said old smartphone I didn't mean that it should be full of installed crap apps.
Hardware wallet is still a better option.
245  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Get a virtual Coinramp Visa card in USD and EURO on: April 08, 2024, 05:00:47 PM
What i suspect here is that the following services below are being run by the SAME PERSON (A BIG SCAMMER)

Coinramp.net
Satsrefill.com
Paywithanon.com
Coinpaycard.net

You are not far from the truth.
I warned about many of this new anonymous virtual cards that started showing up in last few years, and they all have similar style and working method.

It's funny that owner of CoinPayCard.net accused me as member who is most responsible for bitcointalk forum ''going down the hill''  Cheesy
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5432564.0

PS
There are still few legit non-kyc cards, and that should not be confused with scam cards, but they are all risky, more or less.
246  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FixedFloat has been hacked (26M $) on: April 08, 2024, 04:51:08 PM
This seems like successfully repelling all the attack on all fronts while losing all your army and retreating 200 miles.
Whatever they did to ''improve'' their service now made them look like a bunch of amateurs.  Tongue
This sounds like a classic backdoor access to me, building taller walls won't help to protect you from this.

So those were not customer money nor company funds, was it the hacker's own money, or what cause if somebody provided liquidity for your company then it's your company money, and you're going to have to pay it back!!!!
The first one might have been a genuine hack, this one sounds like an exit...s word!
Maybe, but whenever I hear the story about evil hackers I have doubts if they really exist or if they exist who hired them.

Should have been down for weeks while every line of code was checked.
Exactly.
If first hack happened and I was the owner of FF, I would never continue to work and get back so quickly like they did.
247  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PeachBitcoin.com | P2P Bitcoin Exchange 🍑 #kycfree on: April 08, 2024, 04:37:34 PM
For each of my individual attempts, I was met with the same result and stocked at the same point, not being able to sign the address with my password or seed phrase. Don’t know how I did it wrong but, that was it.
I don't understand why you would need to sign address and use password and seed phrase.
This is just external receive address, you don't have to do anything with it, just use one from your hardware wallet or cold storage.
Maybe something is lost in translation since I think you are mot a very fluent English language speaker, and maybe I didn't understand you correctly.
248  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitMixList.org - Bitcoin Mixer List on: April 08, 2024, 04:29:14 PM
Now this reminds me of the account that registered here and posted about the seizure even before any member in the forum got to know about it.
This was clearly NL government controlled account, but I don't know if they had any influence on things that happened later with previously mentioned mixer.

I do believe the domain name and servers were seized, but at the time it did sound like the people operating it would continue. Then Admin locked their topic and banned the OP from Bitcointalk, so it ended here.
I tried to find some type of register or official list of cryptocurrency related websites/mixers that got seized by government, but I couldn't find anything.

@NotATether
It would be great if you could add a special page for all seized old mixers, I think it is important for us to track this and record history.

249  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can we trust Legendary member chmod755 ? on: April 08, 2024, 04:03:19 PM
Does anyone notice this user also perform SEO spam on Press board since lasy year? I've tried report one of the thread, but it stays "Unhandled". AFAIK CoinIdol got banned due to very aggressive SEO spam[1], so IMO it's time do that again.
I noticed it obviously, since I recently posted in this topic about his new weird activity.
All his posts are copy-paste news articles, with added one or two worthless one-line sentences posted in different boards.
However, I don't think this is enough to ban him just yet.

Nice auction. Good luck.

It's a nice chip card.

Do you have custom designs as well?
250  Other / Meta / Re: Newsletter plagiarism? on: April 08, 2024, 03:52:38 PM
Hello, I get some crypto-related newsletters, and sometimes they are good ones to reply to, but does it count as plagiarism if I copy-paste those messages here since I can't state the source via URL?
It is considered as plagiarism, unless you post it with quotes with some reference.
There is usually a link in articles like this to open new page in web browser, but you can always take a screenshot of that newsletter instead of copy-pasting the text, or post a link to the website that is the source of newsletter.
251  Other / Meta / Re: What is the policy regarding AI generated images on the forum? on: April 08, 2024, 03:48:09 PM
Lately I've been generating images with AI on a private level and for entertainment. It has occurred to me that at some point I might add some to a post but I would like to be clear that I am not breaking any rules. In any case it would be as an addition to what I write and making clear that it is an image generated with AI.
I don't like when members are using AI a lot to generate content in forum, but I have no issues with AI generated images, unless they are a part of post with generated text.
No forum rules will be broken with posting of images, unless they are redirecting to some illegal content or content that is not allowed.
252  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [banned mixer] yomix Scam Attention, everyone, stay away immediately!! on: April 06, 2024, 10:57:04 AM
Icopress was the first member who warned everyone about this Yo scam, and I always suspected they could end up like  Tongue

We are not supposed to posts about mixers anymore on this forum
We can still post and talk about them, especially in cases when scam mixer activity is detected.
Only thing that is not allowed is advertising them in here and posting any link recommendations, everything else should be fine and not against forum rules.

253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 06, 2024, 10:47:39 AM
Is this good advice for those who can't afford a hardware wallet?
No it's not.
I have seen to many people making mistakes with their imagined fake airgapped system, that I can recommend everyone to stay away from setup like this.
There are to many things that can go wrong, and people don't really understand how to keep everything offline and updated in the same time.
It's not that hard to get hardware wallet today, for example Satochip cards are lees that $25 with discount, Safepal is almost free, Jade and Trezor One are aroud $60, etc.
If you don't want buy anything, than using old smartphone would be acceptable with disabled all connections (airplane mode) and removed sim cards.

Is this practice similar to using a hardware wallet? This advice came from a man I know who said to have been keeping his BTC since 2013 in the same manner, he said the internet/online is the culprit or enemy of every crypto wallet.
No.
You don't have to complicate things with hardware wallets, just make a transaction.
If there was no internet, there would be no bitcoin, so internet can't be the culprit or enemy of anything.
254  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Koja kartica za bankomat? on: April 06, 2024, 10:27:09 AM

In June 2020, after experts raised ethical and privacy concerns around the digital COVID-19 immunity passports Wise was helping develop, the company conceded immunity passports were not a "perfect solution" and co-founder Hinrikus said they would not be launched publicly until there was scientific consensus on COVID-19 immunity

Nije Edin Know Your Cigan model.
255  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Koja kartica za bankomat? on: April 05, 2024, 05:30:02 PM

257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security tips for making encrypted backups of your seedphrase. on: April 05, 2024, 05:04:39 PM
Passphrase is acting as a salt to your seed words, but don't confuse this with encryption that is much harder to crack.
If you want to have encrypted backups in credit card format you should check out Satochip Seedkeepeer cards.
This is easy way to add encrypted seed words on Seedkeeper cards, and you can even create your own DIY card with custom design, to look like regular credit card.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steelwallets and Airport Security - Potential Exposure Concerns on: April 05, 2024, 04:57:00 PM
Has anyone here had to travel with their steelwallet? How did you play it cool? I'm all ears for tips, especially if there are any ninja moves for keeping the seed phrase under wraps in such situations.
Are there specific types of steelwallets designed to mitigate this risk, perhaps by obscuring the seed phrase in a way that's not immediately visible?
People usually don't carry their metal seed words on every travel they make, this should be only done if you are moving away to a different country, or if they plan to do some coin and seed words management.
Any stainless steel will likely be detected by airport scanners, but there are some ways of mitigating this and one of them are faraday bags with your steelwallet placed inside.
There are even faraday wallets, but there is a risk with this method, so I would propose making your own DIY backups, or using temporary paper or plastic backup.
I was even thinking of using old G-shock (or other) wristwatches that have large databank functionality with passwords, that can be great stealth way for passing borders easily.
259  Other / Meta / Re: Can Grin become a payment method again? on: April 05, 2024, 04:35:19 PM
I wouldn't waste any time with Grin coin payments in 2024.
Someone (theymos?) probably had a good idea of enabling a way to make option for private payments in bitcointalk forum, but I don't know anyone who owns or uses Grin.
Maybe adding Lightning Network payment could be introduced instead, or monero for more privacy.
260  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 22 Bitcoin Software Wallets, compared feature by feature on: April 04, 2024, 07:15:39 PM
Added Bitcoin Core to the website, now comparing 22 different Bitcoin Software Wallets.
Strange that Bitcon Core was not listed all this time  Smiley

I think you need to make few small corrections for Safepal hardware wallets, since they are now apparently supporting Taproot addresses.
I don't know if all devices are supported and I don't own Safepal wallets to confirm this myself.

Credits goes to:
Somehow, I forgot to mention that SafePal also added support for Taproot addresses back in December of last year [credit goes to @taufik123 for this post].
- A walk-through from SafePal.
