241  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another signature campaign with plagiarism on: May 01, 2020, 10:50:21 PM
Technically, the user should be banned for plagiarizing content, but usually those who get banned for plagiarism are the ones who try to earn from signature campaigns. This is to start a campaign in itself. Also, this has happened before and I don't know if anyone has gotten banned for plagiarizing the rules. Report the post and see what happens.

And yahoo has no say over the permaban itself, but it would have been sensible if they asked for Yahoo's permission and put a note saying so.

Does this help tackle your issue???

No, it does not tackle forum issue, and you did not entered in specific form "Twitter Profile".
Again, as I said, I chose random member and entered random repeating words that can be found in many posts for specific member.
Even with one word I was not getting correct results.
Search function is simply not working as it should.
Okay you mean like this, where you want to search the whole word??

If not, I am really not sure what you're looking for, or tell us what you're looking for in particular so we can help you.

I tried the search and got 71 results:

244  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL]Double standard moderation? on: April 30, 2020, 11:09:15 PM
Few things:

- RegularHR got banned a year and a half ago, where I don't think signature bans were as common. Back then, mods considered either permaban, or no ban for the case of plagiarism. The signature bans have been more popular for the better part of the last year as far as I can tell, months after RegularHR got banned.

- Hacker's ban was more recent, so that increased his odds at getting his ban converted, I don't know how true both the above statements are, but this is how I see it(?).

- Also, most obvious thing: each case is different, since there are no solid rules written here. We all know the rules are bended when required, and only for those for which it is essential. Double Standards don't apply on moderation team, but they do apply everywhere else Roll Eyes .

245  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question about paypal and bitcoin. on: April 30, 2020, 04:01:02 PM
Yes but you know what am I afraid of? My partner has no idea of cryptocurrency. Will his paypal play a big role or just a payment and that's all?

I think I'm gonna go with localcryptos.com and choose the most trusted seller. Thank you.
Since he is your partner, you can ask for a teamviewer access to keep track of both sides, and initiate a trade on localcryptos. The paypal part is techincally a big role, and the buyer must receive the money and there could be a potential paypal refund issue and stuff if its not done properly. So, be careful, and make sure both parties communicate before time runs out. Make sure the buyer gets the payment in time and he pays you your bitcoin.
246  Other / Archival / Re: Delete on: April 29, 2020, 11:39:07 PM
WOw 3 YEARS!! Holy shit, who would have thought. I met some really amazing people in this campaign, who are smart, talented, who more importantly know their shit better than 80% of the forum. Jesus fucking Christ, its been a wild ride.

Surveillance and spying on another level. We are turning this place into quite the police-state. Cheesy
I genuinely thought this is the case since so many people are obsessed with this. Now its become a common thing, its just amusing to see the stats and also the effort people put in to get this information. Got to hand this to them.
247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question about paypal and bitcoin. on: April 29, 2020, 11:12:18 PM
Hello, I don't have paypal and I really can't make one right now. Many issues that don't fit the thread.

But I have a partner, that he gets paid via paypal. I want to know if there is any site that will deposit his money and send the analogous number of bitcoin to an address.

I simply want to receive his money in bitcoin and not in paypal. But in order to keep the value of the money, we should not make too many transactions. If only, he could buy me bitcoin instantly.

Do you know any site?
Have you tried this website: localcryptos.com?

It basically is a P2P site that allows you to buy/sell bitcoin through various methods. I have heard about it on this forum and apparently it is really good with no KYC bullshit. And since you want to buy bitcoin with paypal, here is a link: https://localcryptos.com/Bitcoin/PayPal

Check it out, but mind you I have never used this, so do be careful. And do your own research.
248  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies/Jr.Members and the Investigation board. on: April 29, 2020, 10:16:17 PM
I mean I see four ways on how this could be possibly go:

1. The newbie/Jr. Member shares the information on PM with someone who can post on the investigation board on behalf of the user.
(or)
2. The newbie tries to get this dealt with, but gets no luck for accessing the Investigation Section, and eventually gives up and leaves the forum.
(or)
3. The newbie posts his information on the Scam accusation board hoping that he wont get banned and that his thread will be moved to the Investigation board.
(or)
4. A new solution should allow copper members to access the investigation board regardless of their actual rank(?).
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Oh look! Another covid thread..... on: April 28, 2020, 11:56:48 PM
Conspiracy theorists are pushing the lab origin theory but it doesn't look very convincing: https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/04/23/841729646/virus-researchers-cast-doubt-on-theory-of-coronavirus-lab-accident

It wasn't the federal government who sued China, it was the state of Missouri. That lawsuit isn't going anywhere. Cheesy

It's a waste of time directing anger at China in my opinion. I blame the Chinese for COVID-19 as much as I blame England for mad cow disease.

Evidence now shows the corona virus was already circulating inside the US in early January, when China had only just isolated the SARS-CoV-2 genome. This was going to spread out of control no matter what. It moved more quickly and with more stealth than modern science has seen before. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/23/health/us-coronavirus-thursday/index.html
WHat no way. I could have sworn I saw Trump boasting about the lawsuit in some sort of a press conference. AM I tripping???

I agree that focusing anger on china would be pretty much useless, what good is a lawsuit when your economy tumbling down the road.

So I saw a documentary on netlflix on this whole thing, and interestingly enough, there were teams in China that were examining bats in underground caves in china, and as a matter of fact they came across this virus and at the moment they didn't find it deadly enough to cause a pandemic and they labeled it as a low risk virus. And once this outbreak occured and they tested the well known Covid-19 with their tests, there was a 96% similarity to the virus they had previously discovered. ALSO, the doctor who wanted to warn regarding this whole virus got threatened by the chinese police to not ensue this matter, and ergo thats how this whole spread went from bad to worse. The doctor is now dead from the virus. So yeah, China could have definitely avoided all this.

Am gonna read the rest of the replies now.
250  Other / Meta / Re: Why not spoiler tag? on: April 28, 2020, 10:20:53 PM
Usually, I am all in for new features and I am not particularly against spoiler tags either, my point is, if we are ever going to have new features here, let the more important ones be implemented first, for which there is an actual need.
Like...? Because I don't see new features quite often. Tongue

Most of the good features requested can't or won't be implemented in this current forum software (e.g 2FA).
Here are a few I could name from the top of my mind:
251  Economy / Economics / Oh look! Another covid thread..... on: April 24, 2020, 11:56:31 PM
In all seriousness, there are way too many threads regarding covid on this board so creating a new one to get opinions on various matters:

Okay so, pretty much 90% of the world is in lockdown. China, the main source of the virus, isn't on lockdown. How did China manage to withstand the virus out of nowhere, while it was a goddamn plaguefuck of a place for ~3 to 4 months?

Also, countries are severely mad at China, for lying about the virus. Apparently, there is new evidence in light stating the virus originated from the Wuhan Lab, and then it spread through their wet markets, whose existence is being denied by china. China claims there is no such thing as a wet market, while there is a shitload of evidence proving otherwise. To add to this, the US government has officially sued China for the spread of the virus, and for lying about all crucial information about the virus.

Next, I am still shocked on why some countries/states are easing out on the lockdown while the number of cases has been on the rise. The state of Texas is apparently removing their lockdown effective next week. Why, WHY, the number of cases will only rise and become much worse, just like in 1918. I understand that people need to work for an economy to survive, but thus far the precautionary measures taken have been outright awful.

And my oh my, coming out of this pandemic, I don't even know where to begin with. From the looks of it, a lot of countries are gonna shit on chinese markets and ask them to go fuck themselves. This could be a chance for something different to happen, as in inflated countries like Zimbabwe, Venezuela could come out on top as competitors for chinese markets, given enough capital. The recession is going to be tough, the biggest one human kind could have ever possibly imagined, and while US could get away with printing money from thin air, other countries won't. I am hating every single moment of this, thinking about this, and that we have to live through this.

Stay home, stay safe! Take care of you and your family.

Self-moderated thread. Post useless shit, and I will delete your message.
252  Other / Meta / Re: Why not spoiler tag? on: April 24, 2020, 10:44:46 PM
I could easily see it being used by people to organize their big threads. It has this name but isn't used only for spoilers/hiding text. I see it in pretty much all major forums I frequent.

Instead of walls of text, you have a small introduction along with several blocks of collapsed "spoiler" areas/divs. You then click in the one you want, which gets un-collapsed, and you read it. Way better than a page long essay.

Also, can't see this being hard to implement. A simple css with a custom bb tag (to the html) would do it.
Usually, I am all in for new features and I am not particularly against spoiler tags either, my point is, if we are ever going to have new features here, let the more important ones be implemented first, for which there is an actual need. Spoiler tags can be added whenever, because like you said, they are comparatively more easier to implement.
253  Other / Meta / Re: Beware of fixed matches scam scheme on: April 24, 2020, 08:32:18 PM
Wrong board for discussion, this is not a forum/meta related issue.

Move this to reputation,or gambling discussion, whichever seems more fit.
254  Other / Meta / Re: Why not spoiler tag? on: April 24, 2020, 08:30:20 PM
There is a total of 0 need for a tag like this, on this forum particularly, especially considering that 90% of the overall posters here are shit posters. And besides, this isn't a movie or tv show site to contain spoilers, I am willing to bet that even if a spoiler tag existed, it will either be for humor purposes, or used in a dumb/idiotic way, or not used at all.

There are better features that this forum needs, and the spoiler tag isn't one of them.
255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoin KYC reply on: April 17, 2020, 11:24:38 PM
If you do wind up with the politically exposed label you are in dire straits and you'll have the exact same problems and much worse with conventional finance. I've read of people totally frozen out of everything. No bank account, no credit, no mortgage, nothing.

If a reputable service told me I'd been tarred with that brush I'd shit myself and go and double check with my normal options. That's something I would want to clear up ASAP. In this case they're not all that reputable and are probably using it as an excuse to be pricks to you so it's likely an isolated incident. If it isn't you might find out soon enough.

Do you think LocalBitcoins going to share information with local government? In such cases, there might an issue.

Has your bank ever approached you regarding crypto transactions? Also, could it all be possible you were involved with/ know someone who may be potentially politically exposed?

But, from the looks of it, there is no chance in hell Localbitcoins went out of the day to find how "politically exposed" you are. Odds are, localbitcoins just didnt want to verify because you may have high number of trades in your account, and the factor that your country is known as "terrorist" country, and they just choose to give you a shitty reason with no justification whatsoever.
256  Other / Meta / Re: New optional features to watch post history, thread history {Suggestion} on: April 17, 2020, 10:48:34 PM
I like the idea, and concept of it, and it can be useful in lots of cases, especially for those merit-circle-running shitcoin posting bastards, but as I see it, there's literally 0 demand for this right now. Its not a pressing issue, hell it is not even an issue/to-do list task, there are better things we want on this forum than this, and even with more demand on that, we don't see it happening for the forseeable future. As much as I want this, I am sorry to break this down to you.
257  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL]Dear Forum Administration, Merit Question on: April 17, 2020, 08:50:33 PM
I don't have good answer to this question. Let's just say "I am logged out".
Well, you could maybe try keeping your account logged in on your phone? Then you can quickly check who merited who? Or like you said you can check in bpip.org

I haven't tried this but isn't there a bpip extension? Does it help with your issue?

I get the anxiety that you get when you receive a merit, but its not something to lose sleep over. It has no actual gain, its just a number.

Ok, who voted against cunt ?!?
I just knew I had to! Couldn't resist.

258  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s economy is contracting and this is not good for the global economy. on: April 17, 2020, 08:19:54 PM
Yeah no shit. Countries are pissed, UK, ITALY, USA have more cases of coronavirus all because of China. People are in lockdown everywhere except China. So if countries cant get rid of Coronavirus, they are gonna do the next best thing, doom China.

China's economy contracting is a bad thing for sure, because once we get out of this shitshow, things are going to be WAY WORSE, not only health wise, but for the economy as well. I would be lying if I said I am not scared about what 2021 is going to look like, because getting over from a pandemic could be either of the two things: The global economy ends up in a full fledged recession where we end in a doom and almost not be able to recover where millions die suffering from the bad economy, OR we somehow manage to survive through this and countries manage to pull through and we get back in track by 2022 at least. But the way things are going, it definitely seems like the first option is more likely to happen, so brace for impact, its going to be a rough ride.

Wait what the hell. Zepher passed away as well?? oh my dear goodness. I didn't know about this until now.

Also, can we have an avatar we all can wear for Bruno? Let us all wear a form of Black ribbon or something for Bruno. Also, if a rank is not possible, there could always be a badge. I know Hal has a badge like that. [1]
