How can I become a Lisk delegate and what are the advantages of being a delegate? Do delegates receive more coins for staking?

the amount of LISK possible to knock out someone from the 101 list and take their spot is astronomical....

I am unsure if you can be a delegate on 'sidechains' for other lisk apps in the future though?

anyone want to clarify on the above sidechain thing?

Why do all experts, whales and dickheads insist that capitulation has not occurred and cry, beg, scream, insist for lower prices?

I saw capitulation on Feb 5th!

True capitulation about 8 bleedin' weeks from an all-time high? Don't be daffy.

There goes my last merit. I hope no one else posted such sensible stuff later on.

yeah..how does that work.... I was legendary when I got some....so confused on what happens when you spend it all?

When you spend all of your sMerit, you will not be able reward any more mertis until you get more with one of the following two ways:
a) You are one of the 80 sources that get smerit replenished, so you can give out.
b)You earn 2 merits which gives you 1 sMerit to give out.

I'm already Legendary....does it even matter? I find it difficult to believe I would be likely to be one of 80 folk getting sMerit on Bitcointalk

so I guess....when I'm out I'm out...

Hi all!
We regret to inform you we decided to not use Paypal more. To all who have already paid via Paypal, we have requested a refund. Be calm, all money will return to you.
If you have any problems with the refund you should inform us via e-mail or in this thread.
Your order is maintained for 5 days. During this time you can choose another payment method or cancel the order.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, that is unfortunate.

Unless there is a third-party payment option with protection, this is a no-go for me.

You are lucky...I think they are going to go with the OVER 45 days when PayPal no longer allows disputes...so IF it gets to that point

and anyone reading this (hopefully you paid by credit card when you went the Paypal route) put in a DISPUTE before the 45-day deadline...

IF it is the 45-day PayPal scam, I think credit cards are 60 days(maybe) and thus, if again I remember right, you with the dispute can

extend the deadline to 60 days to decide to pull the plug...so those who have paid...pay attention to the 45-day limit....if it is a Paypal

45-day scam..there will 'production problems and please be patient posts' and your money will go, poof,****..thus past that deadline they have you...

(or at least that was how this type of thing was played out in 2014..when we saw a mess of them)

hope I'm wrong and the product exists...but all these NEWBIE endorsements and no review by a trusted member on bitcointalk...

I think this is unlikely

Also on previous 45-day PayPal scams, THEY ALWAYS CANCEL PAYPAL FIRST ...that is always a given...

I suspect once they update the store stats with the refunded units from Payal that figure will climb back up.

the stats could very well be made up...if it is a scam...and again looking at such...

Is Sia-Tech even on track to have a working for pay network up at $0.10 to $1 for Amazon rates...when like (what is it 5 times) the ASIC miners with Bitmain and

the rest they expected...all hit the siacoin...at between 30% and 50% coin inflation a month?

Without that network up and ready to go when all these Obelisk ASIC's hit on top of the existing Bitmain units and others...

the whole project could be up sh*t creek w/o a paddle...

Again..those more knowledgeable on the above status than myself ..please chime in Smiley

2447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dwarf FPGA – the anti-ASIC on: May 31, 2018, 05:35:08 PM
Dwarfminer, et al.

One thing I am seriously struggling with is the blatant disregard to answering a vetted trusted member, after the insane amount of requests by the community.

I openly stated on the very first pages I would be happy and willing to verify authenticity, plus, apparently I'm not physically far away - how could a fantastic opportunity like this have been left mute is mind-boggling. Not even a direct response to my offer also raises concerns.

Saying you don't wish to validate your miner through a trusted community member because "they sell just fine without it" openly suggests you have no consideration for transparency and ethos, and are in it for a quick buck.

The business practice is shady, to say the least. FPGA developers do not indeed build websites. But you can hire a teenager to do a better job for scraps. Heck, even a $29 buck shopify store even without a custom domain would look better.

I've seen this pre-order shady model far too many times before. I think the first I almost fell for was Flower Tech back in 2014.
You PayPal excuses are very lame, and are inaccurate. If you PP someone as friends or family, and not as merchant/seller - there is no dispute possible. Plus, even if such were the case, the 45 day mark does not include shipping and seems terribly coincidental.

You got flagged by Paypal and they locked your account for further ID verification. This happens every day with new ecommerce guys starting out, because either a) recent unverified account b) way too much cash suddenly flows in an is deemed suspicious/high risk. Both of which are relatively easy to unflag with proper verification - but that does not protect the buyers at all.

I can see a small "production hickup" coming near delivery time. Classic run-off

I highly suggest everyone stay clear from this. I really really reeeeally hope no one gets burnt.

My offer still stands of course, but we all know that will never happen. If by chance you wish to prove all us Legendary members who posted here wrong - again, I'd be more than happy to comply.
They have 1500 units left apparently so obviously they dont need someone to validate the item.
There are three possible reasons :
- It's a scam
- The unit does not perform as promoted
- They dont want the units to be bought by only a few persons with deep pockets. If a legendary member confirm the unit is working as intended it would have two consequences : validate the unit so big pockets would buy it in bulk and bring monero team's attention to the project.

I vote 'its a scam' just for PR reasons ANYONE that plugs stuff on bitcointalk KNOWS the history of scams and would be falling all over themselves

to get an independent review and sweep that nonsense from their thread ASAP. Thus why promote such a product without proof on bitcointalk with

its history and act surprised that people want it vetted by trusted members...ie it is a scam...

This supposed product is following the 'obvious' same pattern as BFL, GawMiners, Alpha-Tech, etc, etc, etc. with that much proof you can't tell me at this point

in time it is not scammy as hell, maybe the guy in the car, wants to give the girl 'just a ride' but how likely is that 4 out of 5 times?

scam...not even a very good scam either..we've all probably seen better

2448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dwarf FPGA – the anti-ASIC on: May 31, 2018, 04:53:14 AM
If in 18 day that corresponds with the 45-day max to get a refund by PayPal comes into play..beware..the same game that alpha-tech used with PayPal and credit

cards..once past the 45 days for PayPal without a dispute already on file and everyone got stuck on those imaginary miners on that missed deadline and supposed

PayPal and credit card security

Credit card disputes in the US can be filed up to 60-90 days after the purchase, some even later than that. There are some banks that have a one-refund-no-questions-asked policy.

--again paypal can still and your credit card can still (amex) tell you to screw off...due to the fact ..in a previous post you were paying not a company
It does not matter. The company can be registered remotely. If the money will be stolen, Paypal will not refund them to you and will point to the insurance company of state. I do not understand the holy faith to paypal.

It's not just PayPal, it's also the ability to use credit card protection. This covers outright fraud as well (most of the time) even if you run with the money.

You seem to be deliberately lying now in an attempt to downplay the removal of PayPal payment option. Makes me wonder what else you've been lying about.

this is what happened to me with alpha tech ...same scam....if over 45 days w/o a dispute..you are screwed...i was saved in the fact that to prove the

validity of amex (paypal never replied) that I should lose the dispute...amex sent me a form from alpha-tech saying I paid in full..in that it was a pre-order

of 1/3 down via paypal ...i managed to get a call back from paypal fraud after pestering the regular phone folk and pointed them to the alpha page and

showed that it was 1/3 down and that alpha tech was lying by saying i had paid the full amount in full...the guy refunded me on the spot and flag'd alpha

tech..finally after a month for fraud...so I got lucky, IF alpha tech would have only said I paid the 1/3 amount on the bill rather then the scammy full

amount listed....i never would have gotten zip....and IF you are paying and INDIVIDUAL for a product that 'supposedly' is run thru a business like they

claim here...especially overseas....I've heard from others since 2013 it is even MORE iffy...so if nothing else IF YOU PAID via PAYPAL on like day 40

put in a dispute for the full amount back...IF no action happens after that point..you are in the que and can probably still get redress if the wheels come

of on all this on day 46,47,48 ..this is how it worked for amex and I was told mastercard in 2014

(so my faith in paypal and my amex has been tested indeed from 2014 very, very careful and document everything and NEVER not use a credit card

if for no other reason you have the cc company to complain to...paypal...even with a dispute in place did not reply to anything in 2014 after the 45 day

period, again even though put in a dispute before..just around day 55 said it was denied an no more communication..then got lucky only with amex

for the above reasons...again this was 2014 ..in 2013 butterfly labs played the same game on pre-orders...and paypal pulled their support of BFL which

also did no one any good who paid via paypal when the wheels came off of that either (again, from others on BFL I was told on this ..my experience with

them by that time was way past the 45 days) beware indeed Smiley

Has anyone tried it? or Ordered it?

3000 out of the 5000 units inventory is already sold, you can see the counter of remaining units on their "website". People would buy anything if there's enough noise around it. I really want to see the outcome of this whole deal. OP said delivery of first batch starts on june 18, so let's see if he doesn't vanish before.

If they are still communicating once the 5000 units are sold i guess that will be a good indication that it's not a scam wouldn't it ?

No, once the ship dates come and pass... and if people receive something, and it actually works as described, then it will mean something.

I have seen projects where the project leader kept communicating, then when ship dates weren't met the excuses started, and then at some point it was no longer a missed date it massively overdue and the "project leader" then vanished...

The only thing that remotely gives this any credibility at the moment is the fact they are accepting Paypal(assuming that the buyer has protection).

Except for Paypal, if it's a scam I don't see the point to continue to communicate once 5000 units are sold but that's just me.
We will see in 18 days now

edit: re-read previous post to this..it's for sure..it is a SCAM! No doubt in my mind now Smiley (sorry for those on your loss on ordering) Sad

Sold does not mean paid. I am not paying anything until I see a proper Paypal Invoice and confirm it with Paypal.

again paypal can still and your credit card can still (amex) tell you to screw off...due to the fact ..in a previous post you were paying not a company

but a guy overseas....they love loopholes like that....(not gonna reimburse you cash for sending $$$ to a person just cause you say he will sell you equipment)

be careful, paypal and cc can also be played

I am happy to sample a unit, I will pay full price once it arrives and does what it says it will do.

This is a win-win right here!

sadly, for the sixth or seventh consecutive time, it will go on deaf ears.

yeah....if this was legit....people would be writing articles on this...as it is no proof no articles thus no good press...thus no sales...so the evidence is that it is

either a 1) a scam or 2) they have their head up their ass on how to really move asic product with a review

pass

be nice if I was wrong in the future...sounds like an ok toy in concept..but then again I always wanted to be Natalie Portman's "love puppet" but some things

are not meant to be....

2453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 30, 2018, 04:28:19 AM
MY bank (credit union) does not have an online access for international wire transfers.

Same here, no online wires. But at least I don't have to walk in, I can do a phone transfer. And guess how I get the confirmation transfer slips? Yes, only by fax.

I had no idea banks like that still existed after the change to 21 century... Not that I would be using any of those not even in the nineties. There are no other banks available to you with proper internet access?

You guys are (almost) making me appreciate the "good" banks I do use when I don't even remember when was the last time I had to physically walk into one. Wire transfers are also completely hassle free and in some cases (SEPA transfers) almost instant.

It's the matter that they could just wipe out or freeze my funds at any time what has always worried me.... other than that, they are pretty convenient to "use".

use a commercial bank... I had a bank in 2013....i said I needed it in USD to Sweden for knc machines....they said no problem..the bank had a bot that auto changed

so they could nickel and dime some extra cash with the USD to other currencies kinda scam...bit here, bit there....was lost for 31 days..till fixed by hand, lucky knc waited

later

the same bank had a banker who heard I was into BTC in 2013..there was one of those 99,999.99 bank error slips sent to me in the mail..the bank manager

called the SEC on me...on speaker phone, the SEC guy was wtf when I showed the payment to knc of like 11,900 or some such..not 99,,9999.99 or whatever

the banker then did what and tried to cover his ass with the SEC guy...as

I expected and said BTC was evil and I must be cheating on taxes...got a CPA on this eventually previous to meeting (needs must when the devil drives)

on just this scenario

slapped the CPA completed taxes down with a FU and that pretty much ended that meeting with the SEC guy saying on speaker phone, 'why the hell am I here?'

So pure as the driven snow with IRS and SEC since....and the CPA actually saved me more $$$ due to asic equipment in 2013 to this day...

so yeah, get a commercial bank...that is what they are there for ...do your research...the bank was national tcf by the way...avoid

brad

The biggest pump and dump in the history of the world. Kudos, Bitcoiners!

The dark side I sense in you

ah hell, if that is the case it was a lot of fun....if it becomes 'Tulip City' so be it...I THINK I can squeak by till full retirement

on my 3 year retire early gig...so I guess, anything beyond pulling that stunt off is gravy...(or my start on self-justification for not selling and

in HODL mode...if it pans out to Tulips...a lousy 'go to hell' plan...but sheesh...most fun I've had these last 5 years since College...)

a fun ride ..we will see if it ends in a glide....or a crash...

You were here in 2013, this is nothing to worry about. Whale manipulation & mass accumulation stage. Don’t go anywhere until at least 2021.

Maybe you have noticed a pattern, LFC?    Searing seems to continuously talk as if he is getting scared out of his stash, but for some reason, he has continued to HODL on...... at least his online persona seems to have made that impression.    Undecided

yes...befuddled I am indeed.....my fingers are getting tired hanging this ledge over the abyss, however...

alas, in previous years 2013 to say Jan 2018 I was under the 'delusion' that I had an idea of wtf was going on...

yep...that cat left the house

I suppose someone can start a pool...when will Searing crack up and sell.....Ack!

The biggest pump and dump in the history of the world. Kudos, Bitcoiners!

Maybe you have noticed a pattern, LFC?    Searing seems to continuously talk as if he is getting scared out of his stash, but for some reason, he has continued to HODL on...... at least his online persona seems to have made that impression.    Undecided

Well, Searing is close to (if not already) 65 years of age and on a fixed income now since he retired.  I realize he has some money from a 401k but now his overall wealth is probably fluctuating tremendously due to Bitcoin and it seems to me that his Bitcoin stash is what made him comfortable in his retirement decision. I can understand his concern.

Yep, this pretty much sums up my cowardice....dump the BTC as a sure thing, keep the Alts ..if the Alts pump, I missed making

more money because the BTC pumped...if the alts dump, well than obviously dumping the BTC was wise...

but if bitcoin dumps then the alts will dump too...and I will be doubly underwater

but yeah...essentially cowardice...on my part...

I admit that I feel a bit uncomfortable making fun at your expense, but I have to credit you with revealing the real dilemmas that exist, even when HODLing within a decent amount of profits (which seems to be your current situation).

Regarding a possible poll of "when Searing will crack?," that could be a fun one, but again such a topic would be at your expense, so such a poll could be a bit uncomfortable - except for the fact that you are acknowledging your own seeming precipice.

Regarding your outline of possibilities in front of you, I just conclude that you are so much embedded into a kind of gambling mentality and you are trying to play with all or nothing strategies, too much.  Why can't you be a bit more moderate about your approach without worrying so much?  Figure out a proportionality between various coins that make you comfortable, and then once you get that proportionality, then skim 10% or 20% off of the top and put into fiat (if that is a comfortable amount for you), so that you will feel more comfortable in the event that prices of whichever crypto goes down.

Personally, I would say fuck you to a lot of the alts, but you are seeming a lot more sympathetic to them, so perhaps, your allocation is going to end up way more heavily allocated in the alt direction that I would chose (and perhaps several guys - and gal - in this thread).

Well, the ALTs up till recently or I should say still ..should be the ONLY thing I need to sell bit by bit, to get to

my 'unneeded and random' goal of reaching 66 years and full retirement, before 'touching' any of my 'traditional

investments' or social security. I can get Medicare at 65 a year earlier without issue. Thus as a 'random' goal

I can make the case of let it ride. The BTC Hoard....and no real issue with lifestyle.

The problem is *until recently* I was under the deluded viewpoint that i have some 'very small' angle on what

was going on with crypto and alts and mining....they now are all in flux and I am befuddled. My big miner

days will likely be wrapped up by July 4th, 2018 say as an appropriate end date. The price of BTC and ALTS

have 'halved' I think or more since 1/14/18 when I retired on the above 'iffy plan'.

On the other hand, I'm 63 years old, if I'm not gonna say 'to hell with it now' and take a chance...when?

So I flutter between outcomes....sell the alts, sell the btc, etc  trying to get the illusion back that at least

got me from 2013 till 2018 with SOME idea of wtf I am doing...those days seem to be gone. Truely, if all

that crypto does for me is allow me to retire 3 years early, at my same dubious lifestyle till the above

mentioned 66 years. Also, giving you guys a laugh at my expense does not hurt....good to have an ego

check on all this crypto stuff...

Anyway, crypto will work till it don't I guess....and I can decide to continue to ride or jump off...but

so far have resisted...there is NO WAY I can lose on any of the above .even if BTC goes to tulips

I am likely in no danger of having to go back to work for a living. Also this is the most fun using my

head on complex stuff, since i was in College, thus what? Back to 'internet cats' for intellectual stimulation?

Anyway, so far have resisted but if I did not have bitcointalk to 'bitch' about his or other stuff...I never

would have mined from 2013 onward and been in this dubious "first world problem" of shuffling crypto

vs usd about is HARD...sheesh ...I'm such a tool. Smiley As to dubious other off topic stuff I've done ...Is

I dumped 2.2 btc into LISK yesterday on that POS coin project. But that is my last hurrah with mining

done, adding to the LISK hoard......so we will see, it will be interesting to see what I do as well in the

future. But it is getting down to 'brace tack's" now....Alts are as good as they can get, BTC hoard secure

since 2015, big time pow scrypt mining is winding down, what? ICO's (don't trust them) masternodes?

(same not a clue) trading? can you guys see me trading crypto .you'd have to talk me off a microwave

tower...maybe that is it, when the fun/glamor/and your confidence goes on wth is going on..perhaps

pulling the plug on some/most is not a bad play...but then again, so many years of being called crazy

I'd hate for my friends/relatives/etc to be proved right if it all goes tulips....so again, will be interesting

to see what i do ..i've not a clue

Brad

Has he even 'offered' someone like Philima1957 or Longsnowsm (did A4 pre-orders and others group buy)

or anyone else a unit to get and review yet? He did that, and he'd get 'tons' of orders on a positive review.

Without that there is no way I'd get this. Just common sense.

WARNING! Due to a large number of requests to verify the account from buyers, the paypal organized an additional verification for us. Invoicing is now frozen by the paypal until the end of the check for your safety. Please do not pay bills if you have not already done so. If you have already paid, be quiet, your money is under paypal protect.
It's not a paypal's block! The account functions normally and all funds are available.
If you do not want to wait you can request a chargeback. We will confirm cancellation the order from our side and the paypal will return all the payment to you. We will save your place in the queue and the order number to pay in another way. Our bank works perfectly. Payments via direct bank transfer and crypto too.

This sounds like bait and switch. If you intended to pay via PayPal be very careful. Don't get suckered into paying via irreversible payment methods.

Only protection on paypal is by credit card...and only if within the 45 day period. If it is a bait and switch they will keep this going for 45 days and then you are stuck on the pre-order...

(or how it was done in the past with butterfly labs, gaw and alpha-tech by the by)

lol. GPUs are more profitable lol.

A lot more profitable. I bought two L3 + in March, worse mistake i made in a while my three GPU rigs make more i should have bought two Vega 56's in stead . from what i see buying there new L4 or whatever they call it won't be worth the 1.5, 2 or 3k they may charge for it used unless it does some thing like 3 or 4 GH/S because 1.5 GH won't last long an is just another Ripe Job coming selling them at 1.5, 2 or 3 k @ 1.5 GH .

it also depends on how much power that 1.5 GH miner uses it can possible be worse.

1.5 GH  7 bucks a day  no power usage added on
3 GH    16 bucks a day no power usage added on >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  we don't know yet what the power usage is.
4 GH    22 bucks a day no power usage added on

but the fools will pay it thinking they got some thing me included, I hope i don't and unless the community as a whole fights back, butmain will keep doing it .
Plus no one should be fooled into to thinking it cost them a ton to make gear,it doesn't .
