2521  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Rumored yobit founder arrested on: March 03, 2018, 04:35:24 AM
Another one scammer/fraudster bites the dust! Krymov already has a lot of financial pyramid scheme like Questra World and Forex Trend linked to him and perpetrating such acts while hiding in Europe. Good thing the authorities finally arrested him.

Apparently he also operated a scam ICO (i think worldcore?) behind the scenes. So he's clearly experienced in scamming people and playing con artist games with people. If he was the founder of yobit even though that is up for speculation but there are some proofs being offered, then the scam here imo would be the yobit investbox. If it turned out to be an exit scam then investbox investors will get robbed, and then withdrawals will get halted.

This isn't good for yobit users.

Regardless of his true intentions/affiliation with yobit, with the support ignoring all tickets essentially and dysfunctional deposit/withdrawal system, it's hard to see why people still use them.
2522  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: HashFlare worth to reinvest ??!! on: March 03, 2018, 03:48:52 AM
Hi guys ! I have several rigs also I have HashFlare contact with only 5 TH/s with SHA256
I wanna know your oppinion  about to to see In the future it might worth to reinvest to my contract witch will be end of December this year. Im try to to say to compare and see all consequences in the future(I have 9 month left).  (Not bct are bubble ,nothing like this) but if btc gonna be stay constantly between 10K -11K for several month or a year it will be worth to me DO NOT reinvest just take my bcc out.
Somebody has a REALISTIC again REALISTIC hope or prediction what to do ??

Didn't you see what hashflare did to their users? Literally robbed them of their cloud mining contract, lifetime to 1 year, and minimum withdrawal is so high that you're probably not going to get your ROI withdrawn even if you do make it back.

Unless you are 100% sure that you will be able to turn a profit, I would suggest not to reinvest. Get your money, and stop using hashflare. The problem is that their management seems to be perfectly okay with manipulating their user contracts into essentially making less money than promised.

If you want to speculate on coins, then just do that. We are not sure whether hashflare is actually mining or not, even if we are there is no way of determining that they have 100% backing of the contracts.

I was going to say the same thing until I read your post.

I've been reinvesting my earnings at HashFlare for a couple of years now, and once I received the email that our lifetime contracts were now limited to 1-year contracts, I stopped reinvesting and decided to let my newly-created 1-year contracts play out. Once the last of the contracts expires, I'll be withdrawing my earnings and getting the fuck out of HF. Not only did they make contract changes, they raised the minimum limit of withdrawal multiple times. They did provide email updates regarding all the changes, and are pretty professionally operated, but I just do not feel comfortable with the company any longer.

I've received emails from several of my referrals to HF claiming that their contracts will expire before they hit the minimum withdrawal limit... If I'm receiving this many emails, I'm wondering how many users in total are affected by this, and how much crypto that HF is pocketing from this. I would think that the fairest thing to do is to let users withdraw their final balance once their latest active contracts expire. While 0.005BTC may not seem like a lot to many, it's still $55USD (at the time of this post).

It's the little changes like this that put me over the edge; I was already skeptical about this company when I purchased my contracts... Now, even more so.

Thanks for the reply. I am clearly not making up BS here. There is a reason why I always warn people against cloud mining in general and hashflare cloud mining in particular. You never know what their next move is.

It's not even a fair game, they have every right to change your contract, you have no rights to argue with them. If they decide that they want to reduce payouts for a period of time as they accumulate money to actually pay off previous investors due to liquidity issues arising from not actually mining, you have nothing you can do to prove that they are doing this on purpose, nor can you argue with the change.

The minimum withdrawal amount has been raised to 0.2+ BTC before IIRC, and currently is 0.05 BTC instead of the 0.005 BTC you gave: https://hashflare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/207973869-How-to-make-a-withdrawal-, unless this article is outdated. Bottom line is that you should do your own research, see what happened with their multiple raises in min withdrawal before you actually reinvest any sums, because you'd be in that contract for at least a few hundred days with no way out.
2523  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any exchange/website to withdraw fiat? on: March 03, 2018, 03:30:24 AM
I don't care if you need ID verification or not the problem is that right now most of them work extremely slow or just do not work. I tried Bitwala but they stopped their services, CEX.io works extremely slow and bitstamp seems to require a lot of information before allowing you to withdraw fiat so what other alternatives are there? I tried localbitcoins and it was ok but I'd rather not use it again.

What kind of fiat do you need?

Perfectmoney/Payeer/Advcash sort of fiat, Paypal/Neteller/Skrill sort of fiat, or actual fiat bank transfers?

If you are trading within yobit, then you're probably going with the first option. I think that you're probably better off looking for one of the trusted exchangers within bestchange and search up your payment method for the best rates.

BTW, why do you feel like you wouldn't want to use Localbitcoins again? That's the easiest way to get fiat out from BTC. The spreads/fees there shouldn't be more than 3-5%, if you verify yourself and create ads you can probably get the advantage of the spread/fee, even.
2524  Economy / Speculation / Re: A tip by Bill Gates: buy Bitcoin on: March 03, 2018, 03:21:27 AM
Bill Gates is FUDing bitcoin, just like he did with Google : he refused to buy the Google project because he thought it had no future.

And do you remember his skeptiscism about the Internet?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lskpNmUl8yQ

This means the huge BTC raise is incoming in the years to come : )

Buy a few before it gets too pricey eheh

Hey, we do not know what he's thinking when he made those comments on reddit ama.

His only argument is apparently the decentralization and anonymization of payments is detrimental, because of the fact that they are being used on the dark web. But are people really going to stop using fentanyl just because there is no bitcoin? I don't think so.

Even if they do, that's their choice. It has nothing to do with bitcoin as a currency.

I think that he is making some uninformed arguments, that is all.

You never trust a single party when evaluating your investments. I've had multiple trustworthy friends that told me that BTC is a ponzi, I researched and I found it absurd. They missed out on profits by going with the popular opinion. If you don't realize this, you will too.
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: DID YOU THINk BITCOIN CAN REACH 500K IN THE END OF THIS YEAR on: March 03, 2018, 12:34:39 AM
For my opinion will not can reach this price i can beilve i will pump till 30k . And i have to know Do you believe John McAfee is right about Bitcoin hitting $500,000 in 3 years?
It’s interesting that almost all existing analysis of cryptoassets are from the point of view of fundamentals (or lack thereof). It’s often useful to look at things quantitatively instead.

So here, what we really want to understand is the probability of bitcoin reaching $500,000. There are a few ways to do that.

My way is  we can assume a completely random process and take a “gambler’s ruin” perspective. What is the probability that a random process will hit $500,000 before it hits $0? Given that the price as of end 15 dec 2017 is about $23,000, we’d get $23.000/$500,000 = 5%.

John McAfee actually raised his prediction to $1 million within 3 years, if I remembered correctly. And his dick is on stake here.

Your assumptions are incorrect. Bitcoin isn't a gambling game, you cannot try to predict the probabilities of a future price by dividing the current price with the price target. Currency speculation is emotional and sometimes rational, not gambling.

Either way, I don't see BTC's potential to reach $500k/1 million this year, or even in 3 years time. I doubt an ATH will happen this year, as well. If it does it won't hit your $55k figure, that would be essentially 10x the bottom.

We're seeing markets being very stagnant in the opening months of the year which means that most likely this year will be quite sluggish with pumps littered here and there but no real direction. John McAfee said his prediction when everything was jolly good and now it's a entirely different picture.
2526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price analysis from 2015 to 2018: What will happen in the next months? on: March 02, 2018, 11:33:43 PM
Hi guys!
I created a graphic analysis of the Bitcoin price from 2015 to the present (first semester of each year, weekly frequency, logarithmic scale).
What will happen according to you? Is 2018 an atypical year or not?

Some considerations:
1) 2017/2018: about 30 forks have been implemented. They may have influenced BTC price (especially cash and gold).
2) 2017/2018: BTC Futures. I think they have weakly changed cryptocurrency market.
3) BTC dominance has collapsed in the last 3 years: from 80% to 40%.
4) Media attention may have influenced last semester.
5) Scalability problems have transformed Bitcoins in assets.

2018 will be similar to 2014 in a sense, it's going to be a year that is coming off a huge performance. Everyone's hyped up for bitcoin but the bubble has seemingly burst. So we fall in a phase of consolidation, really.

Will it grow in price in the next few months? I think so. I think that we should settle at around $10-15k this year and just comfortably float around that area. We're on the lower end of that range at the moment, which means that in the coming months there could be some pumps.

Will there be tripling/quadrupling of price regularly on the bitcoin scene this year? I don't think so. There are so many forks and alts as I mentioned that are sort of pulling the markets to speculate on these for the moment, but long term BTC's still gonna end up being the definitive winner. BTC dominance will rise in the long term as well.

2528  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dont use Yobit scam. +170 days support ticket not aswered. on: March 01, 2018, 07:22:52 AM

Not gonna help. Their account used to be decently active on bitcointalk when their signature campaign was one of the largest campaigns on bitcointalk, but even then when they were pretty much online 24/7 they did not reply to any inquiries through their forum account.

Apparently, the transfer failed and happened 170 days ago. Which means that they've ignored your requests for almost half a year already. I doubt they will all of a sudden respond to you.

Sorry that this happend to you and 2k MGO is like $1k, not a small amount.

Yobit is not a safe exchange to use right now, can't stress that enough honestly.
They won't last much, DEX are becoming a thing and all their liquids markets are available on better exchanges.

Not just because of DEX's becoming a thing. Their competitors are starting to do a much better job than they are and there is frankly nothing to do on their exchange any more. Plus it is common knowledge that their exchange is a complete shit hole.

The number of issues that yobit is having is astounding, it's almost crazy. Never seen before numbers of complaints for an exchange.

Would not surprise me if they are forced to close down due to liquidity issues or issues paying their shady investbox venture. Which is why they are constantly holding funds and ignoring support tickets, to potentially gain time for themselves to repay other people's debts owed by them.

Can't see yobit surviving much longer, even if it does activity will be centralized on telegram pump and dump groups with no real trading going on, more like a gambling platform.
2529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Experts: Investing in Bitcoin now? on: March 01, 2018, 06:10:43 AM
Would it be a smart move? i know no one "knows" but what do you think? I'm thinking long term, 5 years.

Appreciate all the advice.

It's up to you to make the decision. Don't let anyone try to convince you to do anything, unless you hear other opinions and their justifications.

But diversifying your portfolio to include any amount of bitcoin for the long term is a wise move in my opinion. And right now with the price barely afloat over $10k, I think it is a decent enough time to start buying for sure.

Just be prepared to hold for perhaps more than 5 years if you want to make a good profit on your investment that you make in bitcoin. The price movement long term is still going to be up but you never know when the next pump is coming. Be careful with falling into the trap of "i'll sell in 5 years no matter the price" or borrowing to make the investment.
2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be the signs a big dip is coming on: March 01, 2018, 06:02:39 AM
I was expecting a dip before now but it's not happened.  What are the signs a big dip is about to happen.  Would it be at a particular time of day or would there be signs in the price that a fall is about to come.   Or would it be totally unexpected and just suddenly happen.  And the same for a huge rise?

If you knew the signs, why bother speculating? Everyone would just follow the trends for the pumps and the dumps and act before it actually happens.

Some signs could really go both ways, such as sideways movement of bitcoin. It could mean that it's just consolidating before the next big pump, or it could be testing support at a lower level. There is no definitive sign of a big dip coming.

But usually, if you see the price of bitcoin increase for no reason other than sheer speculation, you can most likely be sure that it's a bubble, and a correction is imminent sooner or later. Matter of time, really.
2531  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: i got scammed for 25k digibytes on luckygames.io on: March 01, 2018, 05:37:13 AM
hey im new here just found this forum and wanted to share my story what happend

im so sad... didnt had any money this month due car break down for the second time in a short period and needed to provide my son and me also food... i came to realize i still had around 10k digibyte this was not enough too cover the costs.. after an hour of thinking i decided to try my luck on luckygames.io it was all or nothing... i did 1 bet and ended up winning around 25k in digibyte

screenshot of the win https://imgur.com/a/C8Ivs  also notice the time i won

lucky as i was and crying i hurried to the withdrawel page but before i could enter my information i got logged out and couldnt retrieve my password anymore due server error i got i went to the live support and they said it got exchanged too BTC and sended to 3NZnzU9xEc9B5KeZL3yxZTaQKtCULEVwHE 0.08189152 BTC

screenshot of the withdraw to a BTC wallet https://imgur.com/a/7spaS

here is the adres it got withdrawed too 3NZnzU9xEc9B5KeZL3yxZTaQKtCULEVwHE 0.08189152 BTC

it happend in less 20 seconds...

i dont even own a BTC wallet i only use digibyte and cloakcoins

and they cant do anything for me .. i just have to accept it maybe a wrong idea from me too gamble it but when you desperate you do wrong things this time i was lucky for the first time in my life and then this happens im really lost for words now i need to find a way to fix everything and accept i lost my 25k digibyte wich was everything at this moment for me...

and who says it was a hacker maybe they did it i just have no clue at all.. its alot of money for me it was litterly all i had

i never share my private info or talk about what i had or share accounts or talk in those chats or private messages

im sorry i just had too share it
i had to do this.. to  save myself cous no car is no work no work is no food hope my son understands this
thank you for reading this...

im litterly speechless Cry

I'm sorry that you had to go through this.

Firstly you shouldn't have ever gambled to try to support your family. It'll just lead to more gambling at the end of the day, you'll probably develop a bad habit/addiction and in the end, you will gain nothing but losses.

But the problem here isn't that. You won, and somehow you got logged off. Luckygames is a shady casino which has had a track record of being quite untrustworthy. But even if it's an insider job, there is really nothing you can do to prove to them that it's one of their own guys that did it. They can easily claim a hacker or something like that.

Next time, use a more legitimate site if you are to gamble, and enable 2fa. Unless luckygames becomes super generous with you, you ain't seeing that money back  Cry
2532  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - OKOIN.IO on: March 01, 2018, 05:28:25 AM
OKOIN is SCAM beware!

1) On their website is "On April 25th, VR Technology company will host a private party with a presentation of the VR OKO headset and content distribution platform. The party will take place in Prague, in the legendary medieval castle Basilica Sacre-Coeur."

In Prague is not that castle, this Castle is in Paris, thousand kilometr far!!!

2) I have called into their office in Prague "+420 212 248 043; info@vrtechnology.cz"

The voice recorder, Czech female voice with Russian akcent "sorry, we want to spare some money, therefore please contact us via email".

3) On the website "https://vrtechnology.cz/developer/?set_lang=en" is "Founded in Prague in 2015 using the founders’ own funds, the company has been exclusively engaged for 2 years in designing, manufacturing, testing and improving the VR OKO headset."

Here is the official document from Department of Justice
https://or.justice.cz/ias/ui/rejstrik-firma.vysledky?subjektId=979284&typ=UPLNY

The company was settled on 3rd July 2017 by Russian guy with basic capital $500.....

Beware and don't put your money into this scam!!

If it says that it is founded in 2015 but the company is only registered in 2017 with capital of $500, it's probably a scam. All this private party and presentations seems to be cover stories to their sales. Their site actually looks decent, however it seems to be made by a template and isn't original at all.

All I can say is pay them what you can afford to lose, or best yet, just don't.

These shady companies registered in a country outside of yours is probably not the best place to put your money. Advertising that your group is founded in 2015 while saying in public that you have no clear goal before 2017 is just false advertising imo.
2533  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Poloniex - Account locked for 2 months with open ticket on: March 01, 2018, 05:10:41 AM
So your problem is that even though you do have the withdrawal limits, but you can't actually navigate to withdraw these funds, right? Or is it actually forcing you to verify your account before you can use it.

If its the former then probably try switching browsers, clearing cookies, etc. because as far as i know even if your account is locked, you should be able to navigate around the site without any restrictions. But if it's just forcing you to verify, why is it saying that you have a legacy account?

AFAIK, legacy accounts, even though they are set to expire, is still working at this moment. You should still be able to use it for the $2k daily withdrawals.

Polo support is almost as bad as yobit at the moment, btw.

It's a problem with navigation. I had tried other browsers, clearing the cache, etc with no success. Funny though, a few hours after posting this they responded to my ticket and fixed my account.

EDIT : I think it was an issue where I needed to be verified? The verification came through at the same time. Even though they're saying that Legacy verification is fine for now, it seems it may not be?

AFAIK, legacy verification is fine for now.

Quote
We have recently completed a major upgrade to our customer identification and verification systems. As a result, we will soon require legacy accounts to become verified through the latest version of our verification portal. The exact date for this deadline will be announced in Q1 2018.

And they are yet to do anything to announce the exact dates for the deadline for the termination of legacy accounts. If you are using legacy accounts still before their deadline which is nonexistent right now, you should be fine.

They most likely just coincidentally solved the two problems at once... I don't know what exactly is causing it though, but glad that they came through for you.

But mostly they will respond just always get in touch to them and maybe sending PM to its account on this forum can help https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=406594

2535  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Buying Bitcoin With Skrill on: March 01, 2018, 01:27:10 AM
The site kinda looks shady and filled with typing errors. Those typos make the site look extremely unprofessional. The registration page is sort of buggy.
By the way, who is providing those VCC service? As far as i am aware, Wavecrest holding stopped issuing VCCs.

Yep. filled with typos indeed and they seem to do a lot of things.

Of course if they do deliver the product that they promise, they are probably one of the first to offer so many things. However just a tip to OP, not a lot of people will be willing to trust you with their funds unless you escrow funds when trading with them. There is also a risk on your end for accepting up to $2.5k worth of skrill funds without verification, since it could be reversible.

In the footer it says that

Quote
PayGlobel Visa Card card is issued by Wave Crest Holdings Limited

Since Wavecrest pretty much stopped that service, I'm not sure if their VCCs still work.
2536  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by "BTC2Double.COM"? ||| CONTACT ME QUICK!!!! on: March 01, 2018, 01:14:49 AM
This was in Investor-based games section.
Every posts there are for pyramid scheme which are obvious scam.
It's like clearly stating that "we'll run away with your money when we feel like" and you agreed to their terms.

it is indeed an obvious scam, in fact anything in investor based games is pretty much guaranteed to be an ponzi/scam.

I honestly doubt that a lot of people have been affected since there is a saturation of these "trusted BTC doublers" and most people aren't going to fall for it. But just because it's obvious, doesn't mean that it's not worth it to track them down.

If OP can indeed demand a refund for the victims, good for him/any victims. But I truly doubt that just because the alts of the admin is found on the forum, it'll mean that he will be forced to refund everyone. Even if he shows remorse, he probably won't have enough funds to do so due to the high interest he was offering.

Never invest in anything that offers you unrealistic returns for doing nothing.
2537  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why I think User "alia" is a (potential) scammer? User "aTriz" maybe involved! on: March 01, 2018, 01:09:57 AM
Ok, I only read the first page of this so far, but what OP has is a suspicion that alia is scamming because her items keep getting "sold" once she's asked for a picture.  aTriz is being linked to this because of this odd 3 year contract for signature advertising.   Is that it in a nutshell?

I do find this contract strange, since it wasn't too long ago thar aTriz was looking for very high ranked, trusted members for an exclusive campaign of his--and then he does a deal with this relative unknown.   But aTriz has always been honest and very polite and kind in his dealings with me.  True, you never know what lies beneath, but I still trust him.  I've been in his campaigns before, and he's been entrusted with large amounts of bitcoin--and he always paid on-time and accurately.

Plus I don't see a full scam on alia's part, though her behavior is somewhat suspicious.   I'll keep reading this thread, but my positive trust for aTriz will stand.

I'll save you some time then. Theymos revealed that IP evidence linked her to an account that was previously red-tagged for trying to take out loans and double people's money through gambling: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3032057.msg31217052#msg31217052

Pretty much exactly what alia has been trying to do, except for some reason people were okay with it until now.

I'm guessing that people think that just because someone is verified, they are legit. And with how alia has been online on the forums for such a long time every single day, people feel inclined to think that she/he is somehow legit and able to break a provably fair system.

I don't buy any of that. Otherwise she could do this over and over with her own money, instead of taking investor funds.

I think the reasons why atriz is linked to this is pretty much the advertisement deal that you mentioned, as well as the review he gave for the gambling service.
2538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin still in a strong downtrend ? on: February 28, 2018, 06:48:32 AM
I don't trade Bitcoin but I want to buy some to invest altcoin . I missed opportunity at 6k because I waited for 4k .

Do you thing Bitcoin still in large downtrend ? 4k is possible ? Anyone with a good skill of forecast can help me compose my mind please. Thank you.

It's definitely not in a downtrend.

The pullback was over ages ago. If anything, price is moving without a general direction right now. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Accuracy of forecasts are generally very inaccurate, but I think that we may see $15k soon.

Buying is about what your objective is... If you want to make a short term trade, wait till when price drops to $7k again and then by for the recovery up to $10k. That should make you a fair amount of profit. Investing now to ride it up to $12k wouldn't be a bad idea either. Obviously could go either way, though.
2539  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Hodl Hodl p2p exchange public BETA launch on: February 28, 2018, 05:18:17 AM
Looks like a very professional project and extremely well thought out.

I think that the fact that Localbitcoins has recently made it a requirement for everyone that wants to advertise on their platform now makes it a lot easier for competitors such as you guys to enter the market. And to use multisig escrow, with support of other altcoins planned, I can see this going a long way to potentially overtake paxful if everything is done well.

It'll be hard to build a customer base that trusts you. These p2p exchanges require lots of trust, and people essentially use it as their wallet to store all their crypto. A new business can have a difficult time doing that. Also, gaining enough local users that actively advertise is gonna be hard, I searched and most of the offers are "anywhere" and aren't that appealing to someone using it locally.

You can close this thread by using the control at the lower left.

Hey Vod, I appreciate ya being patient and not lambasting me publicly.  This was a pretty ridiculous post and one I should have listened to that still small voice about.  That being said, Im working from a mobile and cant tell where on the lower left to close it?  I went to move topic thinking there might be a trash bin but the list of places to move it was so phenomenal and overwhelming I just cancelled.  Looking around, I keep coming up on the coolest shiz and getting distracted and honestly, I think my wife may now divorce me and the children emancipate themselves from my custody and guardianship, and leave me to roam lost in the forums...

Honestly though here is where I can really use some advice.  Ive lost my other phone that had my Coinbase 2FA and Im in between getting that resolved - and tthey say they are pretty swamped.  I went to message you  (so I didnt re-bump this) about closing the topic and elaborating and have used my maximum 2 messages per day.  Researching the Copper bond fee I found would let me out parole and have some freedoms but without Coinbase Im left with getting reamed by Paxful or another online exchange.  I dont mind waiting for my account to be re-established if need be, but having just got my taxes in today (why yesterday I was looking about the loans) Im friggin itching, and I need some help or advice on the best place to get some scratch.  I figure surely somebody has a pretty good rate, and Im looking for a sizeable amount.

I get kind of wordy sometimes so Im gonna go ahead and apologize for having to wade through all that just to be asked how exactly I close this thread and can you recommend who hou might go to if you were new here and trying to exchange some coin?

Thanks Vod... And everybody else who held their mouse clicks and keyboard strokes while I've wandered like a kid in a candy store...  Cheesy
What he means I think is for you to lock your thread.

It'll be in the bottom left corner of the thread, just go onto this therad(I'm assuming you're already on it) and click lock topic. After that, nobody can comment on it again, even though it can still be accessed publicly through bitcointalk.

Domain names are not really that popular as collateral since they are not liquid and they may be reversible. Also posting something as collateral which you want to sell is a big no here, especially if the collateral is not liquid in case of default.
