262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 06, 2024, 06:49:24 PM

Do you guys think it's OK to advice other gamblers to quit gambling simply because of your own bad experience, does your bad experience mean that every other gambler out there will also have the same bad experience?
I will like some really useful discussions around this topic.
It's easy for him to be the ambassador of people stopping gambling after he lost his life savings and doesn't want other players to go through the same ordeal!!

And not to be judgemental on this... how does one go from $10 bets to losing $60K..come on fella's what I see here is a player full of greed and isn't sure with what they want or how to gamble! You know what they say, winners know when to stop and by stop doesn't mean you are profitable, this also means you have had a losing session and you walkaway to play another day...let's know when to walk away, simple!

Otherwise I would have loved to see a video of the player playing to see what went wrong...might learn something here.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a best way of taking advantage of BTC dips when away? on: April 06, 2024, 06:24:57 PM
.

What if I can't be available when Bitcoin is dumping? What if I am away because in reality I am always busy, you can tell how epileptic my activeness on this forum have become.

Is there anyway to buy Bitcoin dips when I am not available? So this come to my mind straight away.
The secret to this is knowing your technical analysis and employ a good risk management, and once you have this you can put in your pending orders that will fill once price pulls back (dips) to your price...just avoid buying at a premium.

.
A bitcoin buy the dip bot, that can trigger a certain price when I am away, is this possible?
Very much possible, by the way a simple limit order or stop pending order can help you just depends if you buying to hodl or its leveraged trading you are after.

.
Don't tell me to use a centralized exchange, been not active in crypto space means that a centralized exchange can collapse before you come back, I want something in my control.

If you have a better option, don't hesitate to share.
Buy from a centralised exchange then move coins to a non-custodial wallet, problem solved.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: April 06, 2024, 04:48:32 PM
Hi community,

When we make a bet and put our money on the line, we may lose money, time, and even some daily tasks that we neglect, and the first goal remains to make a quick profit with the largest possible amount of money, but I do not know why some people consider bets to be more  for fun  and a way to spend time than to win money.
Let's put this debate to bed, time is money and if you are going to gamble without anything to show for in terms of a profit then it's simply a waste of time. And why would anybody in their right mind call losing money fun, comeon let's be honest with ourselves.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?
No fun in this indeed, unless you are playing with someone else's money that you have no attachment in...
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you consider yourself, the family and gambling? on: April 05, 2024, 10:14:41 PM
1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
First and foremost, gambling is reserved for person's at the age of 18 and if the child is of this age he or she must be considered as an adult!

But for an 18year old to be gambling, as a parent you need to be worried because when did he get hooked and how are they funding their gaming account...if you can answer all this without your name fitting the equation then I wouldn't worry much but would advise the child on how to go about it responsibly and it's negative effects without sugar coating anything.

2. At what age do you see yourself quit gambling? that is also if some of us are going to ever do so?
It's not about your age, things just happen AFAIK!!!

3. Ever since you have started gambling, have you ever achieve a satisfying level that makes you think it has good impact on you?
Not everyday should be a losing day, we have times when we win big and bad days when we lose hard it's just a game of luck...

4. Would you have missed out on anything if you were not a gambler?

Life is not about living it with regrets, we are already here and can't go back in time... otherwise I think I found myself gambling because of my love for sports otherwise if I didn't like sport maybe I wouldn't have known about gambling  Tongue

@AB de Royse777 Hi Royse! Do you know about the extra entries? How will you work on that extra entries (or how will extra entries work?)
I would propose these are entered with an extra character at the end of the BTC addy such as (2) or -2 to show this  extra entry and allow  Bitcoindata Science giveaway manager to be used for the distinct addresses Cool
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Does sound money have to be Private? on: April 05, 2024, 05:38:13 AM
Over 95% of the US dollar is digital and all of the digital dollars are in the custody of a Bank.  When you make a purchase or transfer your US dollars your transaction is tracked and approved by the bank and by extension, the US Government.

Can you consider a transaction that is monitored and approved sound?
In the world we Iive in, I guess we can say so from the "government's point of view" and for money to go through the system can clear your name of any money laundering, tax invasion etc as there is a money trail should it pass through the bank system and you can point it's origin and the alike.

But from a cryptonians point of view, this is not sound as privacy isn't respected with all prying eyes on your money and someone somewhere is keeping tabs on you...I guess this is why crypto is a success!

I think for a money to be sound you must be able to transact privately with no third party in the transactions.

What do you think?
In a decentralized setup, privacy will be respected but unfortunately when it comes to fiat privacy is thrown out of the window as the system needs to account for all the dollars which is also impossible to do..
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lately I've been thinking about this a lot. on: April 04, 2024, 10:40:45 PM
So I happened to watch a UFC related movie yesterday and the main character is a very strong one who never loses a fight but during a fight he decided to lose the fight, I found out that he did it intentionally because his uncle and his uncle's friend bet a lot on the biggest odd, which is the other fighter.
When you mentioned UFC related movie, what came to my mind was "RoadHouse" as I just watched  it recently but unfortunately don't remember story line being this way...care to share the name of this movie  Cool

~~snip~~.

Now I started to think about the real life UFC, maybe this is even happening underground and we don't know? Jake and Mike Tyson's upcoming fight for example is gearing up, many believe that Mike will win, but maybe something like this will happen?
All I will say is don't trust these exhibition matches because end result will always shock you!!!
Btw had this match being a real punch for punch boxing 🥊 match Iron Mike would take it any day but parading the Legend this way against clowns like Jake should tell you it's for entertainment purposes and money raising venture!!!

Many gamblers are placing bets on this fighter since its more reliable than you against the casino games, this is all about agility and skills, but the possibility of intent loss to make more money is also possible in this game, what's your take on this?
It's matches like this that are easy to fix, settle for a draw and all punters lose money with the inner circle benefiting.

United should be able to get the win today, or at least they have to get the win looking at the standings if they want to have any chance at all, they need to win this match.
Honestly I was thinking in the same lines especially that they don't have other tournament commitments thought they would throw everything at this game, but seeing we just five minutes into the game and United have already conceded doesn't give me the confidence to say they can turn this game around.. But i will keep an open mind as such games come with surprises.

I must admit a fact that Chelsea are really good in home games against big teams. I still remember that insane 4-4 draw against Manchester City here.  Cheesy  A really tough game is waiting for Manchester United as of now.
I remember that game and if I recall Manchester city were actually out played and were lucky enough to force a draw otherwise Chelsea should have collected maximum points!!!

We would like to thank everyone for your participation.

The raffle will close at 18:00 (GMT), after which you are still welcome to answer the survey, but you will not be added to the draw list.

AB de Royse777 (Escrow) will soon make a new post about the next steps regarding the draw.

As I see, I’m not the only one in favor of dividing $500 among several people. Can you make a giveaway for several people?
+1

More winners from the prize pool would be great!

$100 each maybe  Roll Eyes
273  Economy / Economics / Re: Church Business on: April 04, 2024, 03:55:51 PM
Church is a religious place for the followers of the biblical Jesus Christ to worship and praise him
Of recent church is one of one the fastest growing business in this part of the world. Church business is so lucrative that every body wants to go into it and are opening churches
Infact the rate at which GOD is calling people into the ministry is what gave me concerned as I have been waiting for the same call but is not forth coming, before the advent of this present evegelical move people who where associated with the church where termed church rats but today that statement has changed as it is now the church rats that are giving food to the outside rats
Infact pastor's have become so rich that they now own private jets and millionaire, the way our economy is going opening a ministry is now a sure away of moving away from economic hardship
Guys let discuss what do you think about this, are these pastor's really being called or they are just looking for a way out of economic hardship

For starters the world is not exclusively based on Christianity so let's not make a big fuzz out of this as we have several other religions out there coexisting Roll Eyes!!

As of the increased number of churches coming up, let's just say people have cracked the code to say these places have ready help available to them and other benefits such as tax free incentives available to owners of the church..then there is a big gap of people desperate for a change of life through miracles which has attributed the rise of this number...and for some these are the best fronts for money laundering so reasons for the rise are plenty!!!
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land Based Casinos in the Digital Age on: April 04, 2024, 03:41:14 PM
Hey everyone,

As online gambling platforms continue to grow in popularity, I’ve been wondering about the future of traditional, land based casinos. With the convenience and accessibility of online betting, will brick-and-mortar casinos become a thing of the past, or will they evolve to offer experiences that can’t be replicated online?
These have run their race and I don't see them continuing their operations the old way, besides I believe going full time digital means cutting down on running costs such electricity, internet, phone bills and probably rentals which is a deal breaker to owners of the casino, and the fact that such a business setup opens its doors to more clients...brick and mortar casinos could be a thing of the past in the coming years but probably for the sake of having a physical presence to tell the world they are a real company and not a scam,  I guess we  probably going to see a downsized structure for this purpose.

Do you think they’ll manage to hold their ground, or will we see a shift towards exclusively digital platforms?
Can't hold their ground for sure , unless it's a place like Vegas which is well known for such casino's I don't think they can pass on this opportunity to go digital.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: April 04, 2024, 04:57:53 AM

Just want to share.

https://youtu.be/k7aQEqDbuf8?t=4429
He was interviewed on Lex Fridman's channel just today. Funny how he thought it was just $80K but it's actually $3M. Rich men lose more when they get drunk playing blackjack.
One mistake I can point out from this picture is mixing gambling with alcohol, this is the worst combination for success and hope non of us fall into this trap!!

Btw, I like this interview and the honestly of this guy as this shows gambling is not really about having fun but primarily making some extra money on what you have regardless of one's financial status.

He advises about winning and losing in gambling and if you get depressed because of it, gambling is not for you. He meant winning and losing are part of the game where great things and bad things happen.

I wonder when does the depression kick in, when you calculate how much is lost or when you chasing your losses and you aren't winning  Roll Eyes

Btw, do winning gamblers ever feel depressed or this is only for losers Tongue
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: April 03, 2024, 10:51:38 PM
Wow  Grin come on lad... I know the ETF spot approval got everyone excited and expecting markets to continue being bullish but $400K is a real mountain to climb...a big ask even for institutional investors coming in at this point, let alone the halving  Roll Eyes sorry but this price expectation isn't happening anytime soon!!

Btw, according to Bitcoins history books and the halving..price of BTC doesn't soar immediately it happens, it unfortunately takes sometime before we get to enjoy this which should come after 8 months or so... otherwise one big hurdle we have to jump to see some real price action is the $70K price range and if we can touch 80K this will be a game changer.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 03, 2024, 08:27:59 PM
Not sure if am to say that am disappointed with Arsenal's goal scorecard today, because there is noway bookies can price them at under 1.2 odds and all the manage to get is a goal of their own and an own goal..it's criminal  Roll Eyes but what the heck a win is a win, 3points in the bag.

Elsewhere Brentford put up a brave and impressive fight against Manchester United and today I thought they would get a win over Brighton but when no one wants to lose it's always going to end in a stalemate and today was a boredraw unfortunately!
______
Citizens in action too and leading Aston Villa by 2 goal to 1, but I see more goals coming in the second half and hope they do in favour of City as we want a dramatic finish at the top this season.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Article from Coindesk. Are Bitcoin Developers Losing Faith in Lightning? on: April 03, 2024, 06:54:51 PM
Without any technical jargon here  about LN, I think the devs have every reason to put this on halt because among the devs themselves there isn't unity and LN hasn't received the support/demand it was to receive which I think is among one of the main reasons devs could be losing faith in it.

Btw, on a forum like Bitcointalk were you expect to have users with the tech knowhow on LN and if we had to ask how many of us use it regularly... am pretty sure the numbers don't look good and on top of that service providers haven't implemented the tech yet, so really the devs decision is justified and worse off after 4 years this technology hasn't made its mark means it's lost its momentum or perhaps this was rushed and product wasn't perfected which makes it a work in progress , just my 2 cents.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 03, 2024, 05:52:19 PM
Today, they see Arsenal as such a favorite that the betting companies didn't even give odds on their win. Even the fact that Luton Town was in the relegation zone and urgently needed to gain points wasn't enough to give them a chance. Arsenal couldn't score many goals in the last matches, but they played against very strong opponents. This time, we may see a scenario like one of the old high-scoring matches against a weak opponent again. I expect a different Arsenal victory and they will be at the top even if they have one more matches again.
While we are all expecting an easy win for Arsenal especially that they play from the Emirates stadium, you will be shocked that this game could produce some unexpected result  especially that Luton is now desperate to find a way out of the relegation zone..but looking at how the bookies have prices an Arsenal win today tells me there is no chance they won't deliver the win especially that they want to keep the title chase going  Smiley

Manchester City does not depend on Haaland this season in the Premier League; if not, they would not be in the Premier League title race this season. Recently, Foden has been helping Manchester City win their matches in the Premier League, and he played fantastic football against Arsenal, but Arsenal's defenders would not allow him to score a goal.
True that, and btw Halaad hasn't been the same after that injury he picked up that could have disturbed his momentum and probably needs more time to get back at his best...and at the moment you can't talk about Manchester City without mentioning Foden this season as his the teams inform player ATM !! But let's see how they perform in the next fixture of game's Smiley
