Thinking distracts you from the present reality.  I've thought enough, I'd like to create now.

Imagine my experience seeing spongebob clips on MDMA, your mind is truly capable of creating worlds of your own.  It's a matter of if you believe or not.

But is it you, or the MDMA?
2782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: April 14, 2013, 01:19:18 AM
It is fact; Ripple is controlled by the founders of Ripple, and XRP are distributed completely at their discretion.  The two aren't very comparable; Ripple would be like fiat, if Ripple were a government.  It's mostly just used as an anti-spam mechanism; Ripple would do nothing but cater to USD etc if BTC wasn't around.
2783  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the Politics & Society section so anti-Semitic? on: April 14, 2013, 01:17:24 AM
And why doesn't the forum appoint a moderator to shut down the obviously racist threads?

we would need a clear definition of anticematism first. I recognize that a disproportionate number of the down right nastiest people on the planet are jews. But i would never judge someone just for being jewish, i would never deny someone an opportunity because they are jewish, i would never treat someone unfairly just because they are jewish. Am i an antisemite? some would say yes some would say no, what do you think?

You're only an anti-Semite if you're outward against Jews.  If you're internally against Jews, and nobody ever knows about it, nobody could say you were.

Antisemitism is basically "racism against Jews". Being anti Israel doesn't equal antisemitism.

Maybe, but Israel =/= the Jewish religion, just like being anti-Christian doesn't necessarily mean you hate America and the UK.

People are born in wrong places all over time. The homeland is place from where your ancestors came. This concept is not understandable by people who measure everything with material values.

We're all from the same stretch of land that split off into what it is now.  And even if we're referring to the last 2 thousand years, my ancestors are from opposite ends of the world.  This logic makes no sense.  My home is planet Earth.  Where are you from, exactly?

2788  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what the difficult mean, when you mine? on: April 13, 2013, 10:02:43 PM
If you're the only person in the world mining, there's a 100% chance you're going to find the block.

The moment someone else comes online, you're now competing with them to find that block.  Depending on your hashing power, you could have an advantage over that person.

Now spread this over every miner ever, and that's why you can't solo mine.

If you're 'Murican, you can use Dwolla.  PayPal's too much of a hassle and there is no 100% guarantee with it.
There IS use my guide ....

Bought my second ever batch of coins from them.

Virwox isn't bad but there's a hard limit on how much you can spend on there.  Plus, it doesn't always work; I tried using Virwox to get my first set of BTC but no matter what, it wouldn't work with my card.
2790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallets on: April 13, 2013, 09:58:50 PM
The way I do it:

Keep one wallet full of most of your Bitcoin.  Turn it into a brain wallet/paper wallet, so your Bitcoins are totally secure (you can do this with Electrum.)  You want to stay in complete control of your private keys; if someone gets ahold of your unencrypted wallet and/or gets the password to it, your bitcoin is as good as gone.  An encrypted wallet is better, but a keylogger can still get ahold of your password.

Then keep a separate wallet (wherever is most convenient) with "spending money" (however much you're comfortable with losing) and use that for sending coins.  Whenever you get more, send them to the storage wallet, and keep some for spending.

I wouldn't recommend keeping too much Bitcoin online (as in online wallets or exchanges) as people have lost tons of Bitcoin this way when those websites go down for whatever reason.  But there's nothing wrong with keeping an amount you're OK with losing in an online wallet.

Sell the account to some sucker for 57$'s worth of BTC.

I'm not sure tbh, if they're not responding to emails and there's no other way to get the cash out, it'll be stuck in limbo Tongue

Apple is simply pure evil. They have always been worse than Microsoft. They always will be.

But Android is NOT the answer to an open system. Yeah, it's better, but not much.

Android presents the ILLUSION of an open system, but if you dig deeper, your phone isn't open.

Bitcoin is antithetical to everything Apple, and is a threat to the Android ecosystem as it is now. Android presents better options, but... those are mostly unrealistic.

Ubuntu's releasing phones pretty soon.  Hopefully these will be just as open as their desktop OS; if not, it's basically android.

Yes.  We're all just a bunch of jealous kids.

Roll Eyes

There's been several threads about this; look around and you'll find plenty of reasons.

2796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Test your ability to send ripples or bitcoin. on: April 13, 2013, 07:34:35 PM
OK...ThemThereHills....unfortunately...if you had tried sending me any xrp's I haven't received them yet.
Wasn't sure if you were talking generally or not just thought I'd let you know.

And Mike...I'm still waiting on the receipt of the quarter and will let you know as soon as I do.

When I opened up the bitmining software I saw the same address that you send it to and it wasn't showing anything yet.
It was hogging up the system resources and it's still trying to start the mining process I guess and stuck at around the 80% mark saying its's synchronizing with network. Hopefully things will get going here soon. In any case, I really appreciate your helping out.

Not sure what's going on there.  Anyway, it's possible you no longer have the private key to that address, unless you can figure out where it went.

From now on, I recommend using a public address generated from Electrum

what is the exchange rate of ripple/bitcoin?

Outrageous Grin  I remember someone buying 50k ripples for .5 BTC a while back, but I think that number's diminished.  Anyway, ripples don't do much as of yet, so I'm not sure why people want them.

I got a new job!

No, I didn't find it via Googling some term. It was in my Google news feed. Somehow Google knows what I like. I swear, it even suggested to me the new FaceBook video out, depicting Mark and the goat.

AHHH That's so fucking gross Grin

Aww lol. Can I have a bit of free money too? xD

I sent you a quarter lol

BTW - Mike Christ...What is a digital painting service? Maybe I can send some work your way when the opportunity presents itself.

If you click on the link, you'll find a thread showcasing my artwork.  I'm an artist, and will paint anything you need me to for Bitcoin.
