Merry, if they deliver just 10% of what you've described, they would be liars. There's a fee to get in. Is this free? Well, let's do a test of logic. Free is interpreted as "not costing money". Membership through donation is a membership fee. A fee is a donation which you have to make. A fee costs money. Free for a fee is not free. Make sense? Nothing these people offer is new. They are not scientists. They are not artists. They don't know what they're doing. They're going to suck up as much money as they can and then they're going to disappear off the face of the planet. Why? Because they can. Every service you've listed is readily available TODAY. It has been available. Nothing is stopping anyone from getting what your service will provide. Communication: SKYPE. FORUMS. INSTANT MESSENGERS. FACEBOOK. TWITTER. I can't list them all. Entertainment: TPB. YOUTUBE. GROOVESHARK. Myriads more, all someone needs to do is ask Google. Currency: BITCOIN. What could this company possibly offer that BTC doesn't already offer? It makes no sense. Anything more is just bloat. Much, much more: Doesn't exist. There is no much, much more, or else it would be listed. There is no company which says 'et cetera.' If there's an 'et cetera', something you're not telling us, it is because there's nothing left to say. As you invent already existing services, you'll formulate more horse shit. If this company had anything to offer, they would be offering it now. At best, they're a black hole for bitcoins, and anyone who supports such a scheme has every right to contract an incurable form of cancer.

I'm guessing browsers only allow you to spell check in your own language? That's how I achieved perfect spelling anyway

The whole idea of social security appalls me. The idea that they take some of our money to save it for us. And in reality they just go and dip into those funds to spend at will. It's stupid.
More like your posting is stupid. A lot of people don't save enough, it's hard to know what is enough. SS is not just retirement anyway, I received it until I turned 18. Hopefully it was the money that came out of your check. So in other words, you receive it, ergo you are in favor of it. That's great, but, if your only point is to say that he's stupid, I have bad news. Mostly about pots, and kettles, and the color black.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at; what's it do?

You're fucking stupid.
You are so ridiculously naive, it's pathetic.
I understand we aren't going to solve the on-going debate between collectivism and individualism in this thread, or push understanding of the difference between society and government. However, it is enjoyable to debate the details and refine our understanding, until it resorts to this. To sum it up, we have several fine thinkers in this thread. And then this one...

Lmfao, that's the most pathetic little chart I've ever seen! Oh my god u guise, my silver is now worth 1% more! I'm rich!! It's like this site's only purpose is to wank the PM crowd.

haha: well is it? Let's talk to Ron Paul and Ben Bernanke wether or not this really is a currency.
hell yes. That's the only sensible thing this guy said the whole time while repeatedly interrupting the nice ladies. What a crook. Yep that guy is a dick. It's amazing how people that perceive themselves a smart can just dispatch something they probably here the first time of, without even listening to what it actually is. But that's something a Bitcoiner that tries to introduce it to people has to learn to live with. The only upside is, that (hopefully) some day I will be able to greet people not with "Hello", but with "I told you so". The issue with people who believe they know everything: they stop learning, and cease to know everything

The only way you'll find something like that is if you create a forum which only you can use My advice: Develop a thicker hide.

Over half of America's budget goes into Social Security and Welfare.
To contrast, 2% is spent on education, another 2% on advances in medicine and science. Anyone who finds this agreeable is the end result of a nation whose budget for education is 2%, while socialism, warfare and debt interest make up almost the entirety of the rest.

I love the tone of your post, believe me but I think it's not a likely reality in the short to medium term at least. There's going to be a lot of shaking before something resembling that martini is in the glass. I'm an optimistic guy but feel enough people around the world have become dependent on government that it's not just going away in our lifetimes. The percent of people in the population that are into holding something like gold or Bitcoin, the percentage that is fully turned on to what happens in the world and roughly how things really work, is miniscule. Plenty of people utterly glued to the matrix that "government" can fleece for the rest of our lives I submit.
I believe that number is rising pretty high. There's a lot of people on welfare, milking America for all its socialism, and increasing as jobs slowly disappear to other countries. These folks are completely, 100% indebted to their nation, and if that system collapses, so do their benefits. So that's at least 4 million votes in support of American socialism, and at most 46+ million (according to this handy little statistic) And we're not even talking about the average Joe and the typical Jane. I'd like to say we're progressing, but you may be right. It might not be a change we'll see in our lifetime. But I'll be damned if my kids, if not, their grandchildren, if not, their grandchildren's grandchildren, have to put up with this any longer. It is happening, and minds are changing, but it's a hefty heave-ho. We'll be stuck doing all the pushing

So, gold and cash have some good and some bad properties.
Gold:
good - only a limited amount exists, hence protection from inflation good - has intrinsic value (at least to some degree) bad - difficult to transfer, divide, verify that it's authentic, hence higher transaction costs
Cash:
good - you can give it to anyone anonymously. It just works. i.e. the definition of "currency". Near-zero transaction costs bad - loses its value due to inflation
In a sense, bitcoin is the ultimate combination of the good parts of gold and cash. It has the intrinsic value of gold (nobody can create more of it, so the value is permanent) combined with the intrinsic value of cash (near-instantly transferable to whomever in any amount you wish - as an extra bonus, it works worldwide!).
Of course, there is the risk that bitcoin is worth nothing tomorrow. But how big is it?
I'm going with Twain: "Buy land. They're not making it anymore." At least by the year 2140... (Imagine if you got in when they were making the first patches of land)
On that note, wasn't Japan trying to build man-made islands? Maybe it's not too late to be a land owner

Bitcoin's a beta, experimental software. So don't expect a lot of help You'll have to figure out the finer points of Bitcoin on your own, at least until it gains a lot more traction (and it is!) I still don't know how to mine. But using Bitcoin isn't too hard to pick up. Indeed, it does have a steeper learning curve than "get dollars, spend dollars," but anything to pull someone off the rack of "I need everything to be so simple, I can do it in my sleep" can't be a bad thing. If it were any easier, it would be. And it will someday be. Why not take the initiative, learn about Bitcoin, and then translate it into plain ol' English? I don't know a damn thing about coding, so I can't help

Banks still have a purpose! They're not inherently evil. Just, the ones we have now are the scum of the Earth. A bank which operates on BTC is a good thing, as long as they don't attempt to issue BitDollars, and then later lobby to take us off the Bitcoin standard

If that's a bot, he recently took control of his account again and attempted to "buy" 1000 BTC in bulk via GayPal So, not surprised. Boost the post count (a pointless measure, really,) then attempt a scam. Classic! But overplayed. I didn't see that post, do you have a link? Here you go, pal! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152725.0

From what I've heard, these folks calling themselves librarians--libertarians?--one or the other, agree with the above Mr. Mackey reference.
I've yet to meet a libertarian who was for gun control... you must mean librarians. Many of them are liberals, and liberals love gun control. I'm mistaken then--am I referring to democrats? I'd read it on the comments section of a contemporary republican-influenced website (bad mojo but I'm guilty!) and they were all blaming liberals for advocating gun-free zones. Edit: I see my mistake now Apologies! Liberal =/= Libertarian
