I was actually thinking about this. What if BTC was compromised via malicious coding? Of course, we could switch over to a not-compromised coin, but how long would it take for the market to recover? Seems more necessary than ever to invest in alternate coins--they say, don't keep your eggs all in one basket.

There's no real easy way to do it. The hand behind fiat makes it ridiculously troublesome; you'd figure numbers in a bank account would be a little easier to move around.
For privacy, seek localbitcoins.com, where you can find someone in your area selling them.
MtGox requires a lot of info, but it's popular. It takes forever to get verified, and it's a pain in the ass trying to put money into it.
Coinbase uses your bank account. It's anti-privacy, and they have stated they will turn all your information over to anyone wearing a shiny badge. But it's about as simple as it gets.
There's also Virwox, if you don't mind trading your USD into Lindens and then into BTC.

In light of the coming Bitcoin collapse, I have a new proposition:
Now that here are some major inequities with the current Bitcoin system, which I why I am I proposing a new one – Soviet Union Coins (or Sovietcoins for short). In the branch I am working on, when a block solution is found, an equal number of Sovietcoins are distributed to anyone who is connected to the network at the time. Additionally, some will be deposited into a fund that will pay out to people who were not on at the time, but were recently connected. I believe this is a much fairer system then the current system, because ASIC users would be able to contribute more for everyone (there would be no difficulty adjustment – more power = more rewards for everyone) rather than using their rigs just for themselves.
Would anyone be interested in a using a system that promotes true capitalism and is much fairer?
Before you say this system won’t work, I can guarantee high returns once enough people switch over.

Fiat money will still be around, it'll just be useless I mean, except for snorting coke and wiping your ass.

TomatoCage is a user on here who, among many things, points out scammers, and runs a thread to warn users about potential scammers. So whenever there's an obvious scammer, people post images of a tomato cage in reference to the user

I've noticed this a lot too.
"Hi. My name is Husband."
I also noticed the bots being used for the XRP; these bots were all created around the same dates, back in 2012, during the same week in Summer. Someone's got a lot of XRP coming their way...talk about spreading it evenly!

Wow, I'm really digging this one. I didn't like it at first because there were no categories (not like the ones we have here), but it's actually a lot more streamlined and simplified. Not to mention, I spend most of my time here staring at the bottom of the site to see who's posting what anyway Big +1 for this one!

I wasent asking for one off anyone really just for suggestions of how to get one and how I can go around gettin one I'm not wanting to get off to a bad start or anything maybe it was a bit early to be asking about loans but I'm just curious
Avoid them. Being in debt sucks.

Wow, didn't take long for you to ask for a loan. Is that a new record?
You're off to a pretty poor start there, slugger.
6th post was to request a loan That's always a good sign, right? Guess it doesn't matter much tho, since people with 200+ posts still get slammed

AFAIK, everyone's recommending that you ditch GPU and invest in an ASIC. Once ASICs get popular, GPU mining will be so inefficient that you'll be paying more for electricity and burned out cards.

I don't care what you guys say. Six easy payments of 39.99 is a steal!

“I just drew two or three concentric circles and some lines,” said the student, arguing she was “just doodling” in defense of her artwork. “The teacher walked up behind me and freaked out. He grabbed my paper and showed it to everyone in the class yelling for them to get down under their desks. I was so scared. I might never draw again.” I'm pretty sure this is just for jokes
