281  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 12, 2024, 04:08:46 PM

Does that mean the excitement days are over. Has bitcoin become boring in terms of big price fluctuations☹️

You've been in the crypto space for 10 years (or more) but too unfortunate that you are not still convinced about the situation and the potential ATH.
After several years of getting involved with the market crash and hype, you're still in doubt. I was speechless but one thing I would say is that you feel bored because you are in a hurry and are tired of waiting for the bull season which in fact you have experienced and you are doing this in the past.

Of course, there is no excitement to feel once your mind is already closed to positivity. Impatient people can never succeed but failure.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 12, 2024, 10:53:13 AM
Even after Ngannou's showing vs Fury the books line him at 4.20, via KO at 5.60 and vs decision at 16.  I think the latter has a lot of value in it.  Ngannou has the cardio to go all through the end in a boxing match as seen vs Fury.  But the question is how does Joshua take a punch from Ngannou?  Will he be able to stand up and soldier on til the end?  I really have no idea.

We all know Ngannou's chin could take a punch and he could prolly take Joshua's powerrr.  :/
I think the closest that we might see how Joshua can take a power puncher is obviously against his first defeat, Andy Ruiz. But I think Ngannou has more power that Ruiz and with that, if let's say Francis landed the way he landed on Fury, it might be goodnight for Joshua.

So not sure what bookies is putting him as a big underdog in this fight. But I think it's going to be a field day for gamblers who wanted to bet on the underdog. As we all know that Francis is a live dog and that odds is very enticing and it might cost big money on casinos if Francis is going to pull the biggest upset and score a knockout against Joshua in this fight.

That's exactly what will happen. However, I'm pretty sure that Joshua is aware of that outcome, so he will make sure it will not happen. He suffered knockouts in his career, he cannot take it anymore against a much stronger opponent. Joshua here will just likely play Ngannou, he will not goe toe to toe, instead he will use his quickness while trying to score. And with that, I agree that bookies made the right odds for this game, because Ngannou chance here is to hit Joshua with a clean shot that would result to KO.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 12, 2024, 09:12:08 AM
Lakers are probably done this season, they lose big time to the Phoenix Suns who are also struggling, but they are worst than them. Beal had 37 points, this is scary, he is back to his old form, and hopefully the Suns will be consistent in the coming games.

While looking at the Lakers players stats, I feel dissapointed specially the two superstars of the team.

Lebron 10 points and AD 13 points, this is a real struggle, both of them.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your predictions for the state of Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 11, 2024, 09:58:25 PM
Since 2022, the value of Bitcoin has begun to fall. Following that, 2023 was a much worse year; in late 2003, a new version of Bitcoin was released. Furthermore, the market is gradually improving and stabilising. By 2024, we expect a slow recovery from our Bitcoin downturn. In the near future, it will also bring us good news. Things will get better with time. Do you think Bitcoin will be superior by 2024? Please share your thoughts.
Bitcoin has always gained superiority in the crypto market. Maybe we just see it slow growing last year but as expected, recovery never came that fast even before as it takes months or years before it turns back high and bullish again. But this year, we already have filled with some bullish indications of the market, and the surge is even fueled by the ETF approval plus halving. But I don't think this year will reach ATH because as we recall from the previous years it comes almost a year after halving. Of course, it can be wrong knowing the unpredictability of the market but at least, we have our bags filled and ready to sell when it comes.
285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: January 11, 2024, 01:32:56 PM

I've noticed that on my WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, and basically all social media websites, there are so many beginner traders with no real live trading experience who should stop giving trading tips to other people rather they just put it out there for whoever cares to listen to them.

I keep asking myself, are these kids doing it wrong? The beginning phase of the trading journey is a time for learning and not talking or trying to show off. These new kids should be quiet and focused on building equity, and other best trading practices that would make them successful traders rather than trying to act cool and successful when they haven't ever made a dollar other than in a demo.

Has anyone else here noticed this too?"
Not to wonder and anyone can do the same even without experience as they just share based on what they have learned when watching videos and online tutorials.

To question if that is wrong? Definitely, because those tips are unrealistic and never help us to succeed but instead, they lead us in the wrong direction. This time, we have a lot of people claiming themselves to an experts, and too sad to see that many innocent people also have fallen into them. Therefore, I would say that the quality of traders now is not quite good.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: January 08, 2024, 12:59:43 PM

Gambling provides great temptation to all gamblers, and only wise gamblers can avoid this temptation and gamble comfortably because they don't think too much about winning. They can make decisions to avoid gambling when they don't feel like gambling.

Agree with you, that the temptation to gamble is very big and only a few people are able to resist the temptation. As you said, one of them is a wise gambler, they can play wisely by limiting their money and when to play, especially if they really understand the risks in gambling so that a wise gambler is not so much after winning as it is for entertainment.
Therefore, wise gamblers play naturally and they know that winning is very difficult to achieve, so when they feel bored, it is time for them to stop for a moment and think about something else that is useful for them.
Wise gamblers are winners, not in the way that they win the prize but because they learn how to decline temptation and are able to manage their gambling habits that won't compromise their finances and family relationships. Because it is important that we know how to control emotions as this is a huge factor that affects our gambling habits.

We must learn how to accept losses and we must know our position. We are not the house that always wins which is why we need not think about winning but instead, think of just having fun.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: January 08, 2024, 11:50:06 AM
Gambling isn't bad actually and people gamble for some reasons. We don't need to judge someone unless we know it was for the sake of making money and thinking gambling would be a good source of income, I certainly disagree with that. It is just our choice and a responsible person knows what is best for them and what is not.

If that person gambles for pleasure, I don't need to worry but if that old mother gambles wanting to make more money in order to feed his family- that is another story. She should divert his mind and find other ways to earn money, not in gambling with only a very small chance of winning.

288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto community make sure Logan Paul pay the price for his scam on: January 08, 2024, 11:03:03 AM
He is smart indeed and he uses his influence to fool innocent people. They somehow realized but it was too late already. Well, we usually learn something after committing mistakes.

He could pay the price of his wrongdoing but the question is how many years to wait for this person to be prosecuted? In the world of crypto, that was easy to scam and get accused but the penalty is too long to come. That is why many people keep on scamming especially in social media because they are aware that they never easily get to prison even if they are found guilty.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: January 08, 2024, 06:03:53 AM
He never won anything at plinko, and he lost his job as well. He gambled during office hours and using office resources, and he lost it all. I think that's enough of a lesson for me to not follow along his footsteps.  Cheesy

This is worst than just getting terminated, he lose his job (source of income), and he also lose in gambling. I would not be surprise if this person was drowning in debt and might not be able to pay it since he lose his job already. And for this type of seperation from work that was terminated due to a severe violation, I doubt he will be able to find a decent job if he will use the company that fired him as reference for his working experience.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 08, 2024, 05:29:18 AM
If Powell once against sink that buzzer beater 3 pointer and send the game to OT, I think the Lakers could've lost this game.
I believe so, that was a great shot by Powell, I almost went in and things could be different for the Lakers. Maybe the Lakers are just lucky tonight, they end their losing streak by fighting the hard way. I also commend the effort of Lebron, he played well in making Leonard struggle since Leonard was pretty limited in this game.

A much needed win, and they got it. "Congratulations LA Lakers!"
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 07, 2024, 01:13:52 PM
With the current performance of Bitcoins, should we say that the Bitcoin bull run has begun or we should expect the real bull run  after the halving as usual.
The current market state is already bringing joy, is this a sort of trap or what could have led to the current positive market performance.

I do really think, sharing experience can help one learn and avoid the shock of greediness on investment. Tell us your view on bitcoins market performance recently

No doubt, it started when the price surpassed $40k but not yet to the fullest. However, despite the price surge can't just leave the confidence that it all goes that high straight, some corrections are still possible.

The market tells us that not all the time is at the bottom, there is also time to be on top, and that is where we are these days. However, we still need to wait for a few more days, weeks, or months to finally experience the ETH. Many speculations from several known personalities that we may reach $100k (and more). Simply we could say that more people are very optimistic and that drives newcomers to gain courage in risking their hard-earned money.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin ETF is not Approved on: January 07, 2024, 12:26:02 PM
If it gets no approval from the SEC, there is a reason for that but also, we have a reason to stay buying, holding, and trading Bitcoin despite disapproval. The fact that we are not reliant on ETF approval, Bitcoin transactions in or out continue and remain outstanding.

But the talks about approval have already been made early this year, maybe we just wait for the exact date of it. Maybe it was exciting but honestly, I was even more excited about the impact of halving than this.
Therefore, we have to stop making assumptions - what if because at the end of the day, our crypto life continues.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 07, 2024, 11:14:16 AM
Another upset today is the Bucks losing against the Rockets. Alperen Şengün with another double double and so is Giannis. But the difference came from distance shots. The Bucks seem to be having a hard time finding their rhythm in the 3 point shots.
And another highlight pass coming from Şengün. Nasty behind-the-back pass to an open Jabari Smith!

We can call it an upset but Rockets is a decent team this season. I don't know, but it seems to me that Lilllard hasn't played his best basketball yet. Giannis was consistently carrying the team and that's what we don't want to see for the Bucks.

Lillard had 18 points only from 5-16 shooting, and I would call it a poor performance for a high paid star player like him.
Giannis had a very positive numbers but he can't beat the whole Rockets team which we can see move the ball well. 6 points with double digit score, that's hard to beat.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: January 07, 2024, 09:59:24 AM
Despite a lot of threads discussing How to avoid scams or to know scam projects still, a lot of individuals have fallen into their traps. I don't think all the tips really work, not for greedy souls and not those who think about easy money.

Perhaps, it was necessary to have an idea of which one is worth investing in and which one is a scam. But the big question mark is how to determine them when we don't spend time searching and knowing more about a particular project. To determine if that project is a scam, that lies on our capabilities.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 07, 2024, 06:08:26 AM
Miller's debut game was 33 points and 22 rebounds. that's a beast of an import.

That's an impressive numbers. For an import to get 22 rebounds in a game, that showed his effort on the floor. This is what the Bolts need,  an all around import that knows how to pass the ball. And 13-24 shooting, that's a decent percentage especially against Magnolia who is known for their high pressure defense.

The missing link for the Magnolia here is Paul Lee, as he was only limited to 4 points, from 1-7 shooting. With that number of attempts, he cannot get going since he is a streaky shooter, that could also mean that defense was very focus on him.

Very low scoring game and both are really focus with defense,  a great  debut for bolts new import like what you mentioned,  an all around player who can work well with the locals, someone who really can provide in all aspects of the game, while with magnolia,  I didn't expect that they will dominated by the bolts especially in the last period, though they tried to rally back but there's no enough  time to complete that attempt.

I think Meralco now has a decent chance of winning a championship. They stick with their brand which is a defensive team and they can also make such good offense with a high percentage shooting. They don't focus a lot on outside shooting, they attack the paint and does have a good ball movement, that's why they are very unpredictable. We've seen what they can do, and that is by beating the number 1 team this season, so we can increase our expectation on this team.
296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 06, 2024, 10:19:43 PM
I'd say that futures is really a gamble and that's why no newbie should touch it with big amounts of money that they can't afford to lose. Because if they do, it's even riskier than gambling because with gambling you can have your luck but with futures, no luck, no experience and analysis if combined, you're giving away your money and letting the market burn you on an instant basis.
That is what those people do not get, at least when it comes to gambling if that day was your lucky day you can score a big win, but when it comes to futures trading what matters the most is your skill level, and someone that does not know much about the markets will get trashed by the other expert traders in a relatively short amount of time, so regardless of what those people have read on social media, futures trading is a form of trading in which they should not engage.
Trading is somewhat like a competition between ourselves and the market. If we can't trade good and the level of our trading knowledge is low, no way we can beat the market, we only just fail. Even though we have a lot of trading experience, we can't still guarantee that we never lose nor do we think that it all ends with a profit. If we have this kind of situation (whether it is spot or futures trading) we're not just gambling but we are doing this for loss. And I can't blame someone who would say that it was gambling and now relying on luck because that is the only thing he can do unless he enhances his trading knowledge and market approach.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the high fee affecting the rate of adoption of Bitcoin? on: January 06, 2024, 03:08:55 PM
I won't say retail investors are bailing out from Bitcoin due to durge in the transaction fee but it made them freeze their funds wherever it is unless they pay the fee which is really absurd of any kind. Since yesterday the fee actually dropped 10 times lower than its peak but the cause still exists and it can clog the network pretty bad at any time soon.
That to soon be over I guess but in the situation where fees are too high, that stopped people from using this as a payment option.
We can't say how big the impact on the adoption but to clear to us that it was not the thing we wanted to happen in the crypto space as it will help the crypto users to still use fiat money.

Good thing to see that the fees are dropped but still not convincing enough for a user to pay $2-3 compared to just paying a few cents.
If the situation stays long, I don't think it is reasonable to consider Bitcoin as a currency.
298  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 06, 2024, 01:50:14 PM
Why does it looks like there's something fishy. Howcome the user recorded a video at the time of playing as if he knew he was about to win the jackpot ?

I am not sure whether the user recorded the video or not but yeah some slots have this feature where you can export the video record for your game history. I assume this is also come from there.
The video was posted in the OP, and you can see it here.
https://twitter.com/Sportsbetio/status/1743195947650122094?s=20

It's unlivable that someone won $42,000,000 USDT and it's also unbelievable a casino is paying out this big amount. Congratulations to the player and also congratulations Sportsbet.io for having such a big win history on their platform Smiley

It's not unbelievable mate if you are gambling with the right casino. They have a good reputation to protect so they will not mess up with their gamblers. That's why its important to check the gambling site you are using as you never know, you'll be the next to win a million dollars. Nothing is impossible!
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 06, 2024, 01:30:04 PM
Yes, TNT played with RHJ bro, but unfortunately, they were beaten by ROS, not bad for the new RHJ 50 points for this game just needed some added support to win the game. Oftana alone for the locals might not be enough. They need more scorers. Not sure but adjustments might be needed for this team as it's not going to work especially if they are playing against their rival companies, that kind of individual stats will not work with the teams who always showcase team work.

They are not playing like a team, I don't understand why their 3 point shooting was not present in this game. Of course, because their import and Oftana are the only players that has been carrying the team, they are expected to get tired in the 4th, and that's what happened as TNT just can't find their shots in the 4th quarter. But then, since they are on a twice to beat advantage, there's still one game remaining, they should get that one.
I think the quarter finals hasn't started yet, they are still in a elimination games and other teams still has some games to play.

Meanwhile, we have the magnolia nd Meralco playing. Meralco with a different import and they are leading big already in the 4th quarter now.
Meralco won this game with their new import. Lofton is out, Miller is in, and what I like about Miller is that he is a good team player. I know we can all agree that Lofton is a great import, but the kind of play he brings to the PBA is one on one basket, that will not help Meralco in big games like what just recently finished.

Miller's debut game was 33 points and 22 rebounds. that's a beast of an import.

I noticed, it seems like PBA are very serious with their out of town games, they probably see a need to get the attention of the fans again.

You can tell by looking at the venue, people are not watching anymore in Manila, so they want to bring that hype again and they'll start by having more out of town games. I hope it's not too late yet for them.
300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: January 06, 2024, 12:53:08 PM
In trading, we don't just learn how to cut losses but also, we must learn how to accept small profits rather than wanting more.
I'd find out that it was not the problem of most traders about their knowledge and skill, and the use of strategies but what went wrong was our uncontrollable greed. Many traders miss their chance to sell their coins for profit because they think that there is more pump coming unfortunately, with the volatility of the market, often we fail and suffer the consequences.

In fact, our main goal is to earn so we take every chance and position our trade on a profiting price, not just for the sake of saving our capital because in the end, we are still losing.
