1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 13, 2023, 12:40:24 PM
Safe than any other altcoins but I would tell you also that it will depend on how manage it. Because many people lost their money from investing in this and that possibly happens to you also if you are too careless with your decision. But if you can make it so well, earning a huge profit is not impossible.
I would say that - don't look on the negative side but rather ignore them. ETH has been in the market for so long and it shows a satisfying performance that is why people never give up from investing this even during the dip.
1262  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: January 13, 2023, 11:57:36 AM
I think just consider the fact that everyone that holds long term in 2018 was the one that makes the most in 2021, it's simple but it shows how holding was actually quite good strategy even better than trading where profit is still uncertain but one thing for sure that will requires tremendous patience and not everyone could do just the same thing, holding long term requires real commitment not some measly ones.
Yes, everyone doesn't have the courage to hold long as they got influenced by social media and the negative environment. Holding seems quite easy to say and everyone does but in the end, only a few people got there while the majority are selling before the ATH come. Gladly we still survive the previous bear season, it was really a long day it takes before we recover but we never lose our minds and faith. If we did this before, it is easy for us to adjust the market today and still hold until the next bull season.

Gilnebra will be play with all Filipino line up in game 7, can you believe that?

Well, don't be confused because that information is really true.

Brownlee will play by the way.  Grin

Justin Brownlee granted Filipino citizenship

Senator Francis Tolentino confirmed on Thursday night that Marcos has signed Republic Act 11739, which grants Filipino citizenship to the Ginebra resident import through naturalization.

The law will take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
1264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 13, 2023, 10:23:05 AM
This Lakers game is crazy. Heading into double overtime now. The referees are making some controversial calls but at least they’re letting them play it out. Westbrook is having a great game so far but Luka Doncic has been single-handedly keeping his team in it. Now to see if it ends in double overtime or if they go for triple…

Great news about Cousins tomorrow. I hope he makes the team and stays healthy.

2 clutch threes for Luka to send them into 2OT and most importantly got the W. We can definitely say this early that Luka is a future HOF. His basketball IQ are goat-like.
That was a crazy game though, with almost everyone for each time had a good game. We didn't even expect Gabriel to step up for the Lakers down the stretch, both for the regulation and OT.

What a game. The Mavs was leading early and I thought the Lakers won't be able to catch them up but I was wrong. The Lakers though had bad 3-point shooting while Mavs' showed consistent accuracy with their shots.

Luka Doncic has been performing like a goat since his 1st year in the NBA and he keeps on improving. At 23 years old, he will be breaking more records soon as long as he keeps being healthy. It's just surprising because he is not fast or physically strong but he performs well either outside or inside. His IQ indeed is at a whole new level, he's too smart.

With his style, Luka might be able to be healthy most of the time, his timing is very impressive, that's what I can say. He is young but his IQ is very high, that's why he is the best player of the team and still consistently making good records, he does not stat pad like Westbrook, LOL.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts about Polkadot? on: January 12, 2023, 09:56:30 PM
Guys, what are your thoughts about investing in Polkadot(Dot) right now? Is this time a good entry for buying Polkadot or should I wait for more? I'm not considering holding a long time for a bigger profit. Just looking for a short-term hold.

Any ideas?
If you are considering this for a short-term investment, I would say NO. With this bear season, you can never expect a profit in the short term, it certainly takes years to have it. I consider Dot as one of the promising projects, of course, choosing this couldn't make you regrets but of course, you also need to become more patient as it won't grow up when Bitcoin is still on the dump. That is why I would say that don't just focus on this project but invest more in BTC.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: January 12, 2023, 09:33:28 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
That was how the bull market also lasted for a longer time when investors were very happy to hold random projects that made some random persons a real crypto millionaires and billionaires. When should not be too pessimistic about the current market now because everything has different time to happen. This bear market had not even lasted for 2 complete years and some persons had been very confused when the bear wood ever end or not. There are so many fud in the market now and I still don't know why many investors had been so depressed about it.
In the previous bear season, it takes almost 3 years before it recovers, maybe that still happens again in this cycle. We are still in the first month of this year 2023 and I expect a lot of changing will happen someday whether it will be a pump or a dump. But for me, I was expecting the bear season to stay the whole year of 2023. So I think we need to extend our patience and keep ourselves calm, we don't let our emotions burst out because this will also help the market to dump more instead of helping out to move high.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 12, 2023, 10:36:32 AM
They're both monsters on that devision so for sure this will be the best fight and most interesting to watch in year 2023.  See both fighters are heavy handed especially Ryan wherein he always put his opponent in knock down like a blink of an eye in just a short round. So this will become a very unpredictable fight. I know tank is really an aggressive fighter as well compared to Ryan but let's see who will gonna take the belt afterwards.

This is one of the best fights this year, both are still in their prime, so they should be able to sell this fight and earn millions of dollars. The 2nd one that I like to see is the fight between Loma and Haney, though Loma seemed not already on his prime but I don't want to judge him on his fight with Haney, I believe he is capable of winning.

Lastly, Crawford vs Spence, it should be the best fight if it's close to happening, unfortunately, this is just pure hype as they don't want to make it happen.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 12, 2023, 10:06:43 AM
THE management of the PBA has a good decision to move the venue as we all know how many people want to support their favorite team and also we all know how many fans of barangay ginebra, I think this game seven we can see an all-out support by the solid fans of barangay ginebra and also for Those who fully supporting of Bay area dragons. In game seven I expecting a very close match as we all know that this is the last game of This conference so lets out our bet that we think who will win.

Just like the Ginebra vs Meralco before, when the game reach game 7, they use the Philippine Arena as their location.
Imagine how many fans will watch the game, if we use it as a basis, then most likely the total crowd will reach to 60k if they can accommodate that.

Game 7 between Ginebra and Meralco on Friday once set a new league attendance record, attracting 54,086 fans to the Philippine Arena here.
1269  Economy / Economics / Re: Every passing year seems progressively worse on: January 11, 2023, 09:39:32 PM
World is facing the worst economic situation. In this situation it is a must to stay positive, only then it is possible to stay strong and make ourselves progressive amidst the prevailing situation. Life won't be the same all the time. At times we need to be very active and keep ourselves challenging than just enjoying the feel of being lonely and missing out.
Even though we are too positive but we can't stop ourselves from thinking about what will happen to the next generations, and to the future of our children if the situation is getting worse. Worries sometimes will appear in my mind and I think about how they can survive in the future when the government will never make a solution to the current situation because what I see is that they are making only short-term solutions.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 09, 2023, 12:00:11 PM
it is given priority to entertainment over making money which is now everyone's mindset, they gamble because of making money or the worst part is that gambling the made because of a way of living.

Some folks in my area are not just gambling for fun but as a means of making money, so most of the time they end up losing all the money they had on them and even spending more from their savings. I think the winning attitude toward gambling makes most gamblers feel that despite the loss, they can still get it back from a big win. This makes me feel that if gambling were just for the fun and entertainment and not for the money won, most people would not gamble.
It is very common for gamblers to think about winning huge amounts of money which will encourage them to gamble as well even using their hard-earned money. Sometimes, they spend more money on gambling compared to the amount they give to their family. I understand their goals but the bad side is that this could lead them to addiction and could possibly lose control of their gambling expenses and ruin their life.
As I gamble, I was aiming to win as well and of course, disappointed if I lose. But I was expecting this since before so have no complain about it.
1271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: January 09, 2023, 11:22:06 AM

I am thinking of buying coins that are 15% or more down and then selling once they pump 10% and move onto the next one that is 15% down and then again sell at 10% profit and just keep repeating.

Anyone done something similar or will it just lead me to losing my money?
It was a profitable strategy but I was not really confident if you could apply it in actual trading. We have to consider the current situation OP, though aiming for 10% is not impossible but the question of you can wait for that to come knowing that we are in the bear season and most coins are in the dump. Honestly, this will become effective during the bull season but with this bear season, I'm not really sure of that.
Too harsh maybe but I tell you that it was tough to start trading this time. I would suggest for you is to buy now and just hold.
1272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 09, 2023, 09:32:11 AM

To be honest, I would like Thurman to win, he is a complete boxer, I also think he needs him much more than Spence himself, and I would also like him to win so that Spence can give a rematch to a CRAWFROD that he has fought a lot so that he can have a better life and open the doors to him, of course when someone like Crawford can beat a Spence who does not want anything with him, the fans automatically make Spence himself feel forced to accept Any challenge, this is one of the advantages that Thurman can cause, although it is not something that is very safe, he has everything to be able to win.

Crawford will not anymore fight Crawford if Thurman would win in this fight, he will directly go to the champion and would try to take the belt. What's the purpose of fighting Spence? That's too risky for him and he won't be getting a good reward as the attention of the fans will surely be transferred to Thurman.
1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 09, 2023, 09:06:24 AM
The audience is the second-highest all-time at that venue. The most audience recorded there is Game 7 of the Philippine Cup between San Miguel Beermen and Alaska with 23,616. That's the game where SMB bounce back from a 0-3 deficit.

And crazy stats this Finals as this series between Ginebra and Bay Area Dragons is averaging 17,000 live audiences per game.
It's Sunday Smiley. Families especially those die hard Ginebra fans spent their family day watching their favorite team that's why they got that huge number of audiences.
Well, you said that "Beer-acle" as they are saying because they are the only team that bounced back from a 0-3 deficit. That's the first time in PBA history and it has never happened to NBA as well. Cheesy

TBH, I didn't have time to watch the Game 5 which is quite unfortunate for me but as I look at the articles online, it looks like Yang and Blankley had an ankle sprain and Nicholson is still not sure if he will play in Game 6. On the other hand, their team captain Tenorio got a groin injury as well.

Ginebra leads series 3-2 but still no room for confidence. The Dragons are still a strong team with or without an import. What the Dragons need is a player/s that will step up offensively like what they did in Game 4 if they really want to extend this series to 7 games.

Tenorio might miss the next game if the injury is serious, but don't worry, we have Pringle who was the best player last game, with him being as part of the starting line up, Ginebra will be able to play a more fast pace game. No confirmation from Bay Area yet, but I'm hoping that Nicholson will play for us to be able to see a fair and entertaining game.
1274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 08, 2023, 10:24:02 PM
My advice to traders that are losing is to still continue to trade, but using just 20% while 80% should go into holding. What do you people think about this? Out of 100% fund, what percentage can you advice a trader to use?
Trading is a much much better way to make profit if you know how to trade, it's not even close, you could make 50x more trading than holding if you are a good trader, and that's just for one year, if you know how to trade and do it for a few years then we are talking about tons of difference and not even close. This means you should learn how to trade and how to be a good trader.

However, if you are not good at it, then it's not smart to make this type of decisions and just hold it. That's where holding becomes better because when you are hodling you are basically making bigger differences and better results since trading would be a terrible way if you don't know how to trade.

But in the situation that we keep on losing, it was an indication that trading is not the right place for us. It was an indication that we need to leave and holding seems to be the best option now. We have to accept that sometimes we fail at one area but it opens another opportunity on the other side. Let us say that holding is not really a profitable option during the bear season but I see the benefits of this during the bear season. Well, we can do trading again when the bull season comes.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coin caused Solana price to rise by 40% in a week on: January 08, 2023, 02:07:18 PM
I actually think this is a little dangerous because in any case their interest is only temporary because of some hype in their token and of course we can't let go of Bonk in this case.
No, it was not just a little dangerous but I consider it big and as an investor, I won't put my money at risk knowing that was hype only. It pumps without a valid reason, it definitely drops drastically and brings losses to the investors.
Quote
To be honest, I don't really like hype conditions like this because in the end, after their increase, many people will find it difficult and say they are deceived again due to buying at a large price in the end because this shitcoin will indeed be thrown away and I'm sure of that.

Then I hope newbies have that kind of thinking otherwise, they will become a victim of such a trick.
We always keep in mind that Solana is a meme coin, we can never expect anything good from them aside from higher risk and losses.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 08, 2023, 11:55:18 AM
Total attendance now is over 21k, that's a huge fans out there, Ginebra should win this.

However, they should be careful now, Bay Area is slowly coming back, the lead of Ginebra now is down to 8 points only.
Hopefully they will stay focus and will win this game.
1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis VS Hector Luis Garcia SAT, JAN 07, 2023 on: January 08, 2023, 11:21:40 AM
Davis has some chin, he was absorbing some heavy shots from Garcia but he was still able to stop. Actually, Garcia was competing well, he had some rounds which he won but he got careless, he probably was thinking to KO Davis ,but the opposite happen as he was unable to continue the fight after almost getting knock down.

This is a good news because this only means that we will see a Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight.
1278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 08, 2023, 07:39:57 AM
...
Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
Well, it is not really good to start trading with losses but at the same time, it teaches us how to be strong and makes us feel that trading is not easy. In this situation, we can assess ourselves if we are really fit for this area or something to find another because it was important to leave a comfort zone than push ourselves to something that we know we fail only.
However, there is wrong with trying, whether we lose or win at least we did our best and learn something from it. And also to accept the fact that not all are destined to become successful traders either.
1279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.? on: January 07, 2023, 09:34:30 PM
Just do what the best you can do in your life OP and don't make your age a hindrance to not doing it. Besides, a 47-year-old is not old enough that can't think right and at this age, we are certainly mature enough to make a decision. You don't need to lose this opportunity and erase your bad thoughts about "what if I die and lose my money?" Just think about how we are preparing for a better future and consider this investment is not just for ourselves but for our family.
1280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the perfect indicator for long term investors on: January 07, 2023, 03:14:01 PM
Actually for a long term investment in Bitcon you don't need a lot of indicators or anything, you already know what you will get if you hold BTC for a long time, that is profit, that's all. Because the adoption of Bitcoin will be more massive in the future and it can't be avoided. With the increasing adoption of Bitcoin, of course this will increase its price. The current market conditions that are less stable are natural, that's to make the crypto market healthier and it won't last long, surely market conditions will improve and the price of Bitcoin will get better. But if you still believe in indicators, that is also good.
Are sure about the future of Bitcoin?
Well, I hope you're right but we can't just draw that assumption because these indicators are a huge help to us in order to have some insights into what will possibly happen a few years from now. As what I said, we can't tell that Bitcoin will still exist 10 years from now though there is a big chance. Yes, we can see a huge adoption by now but we're not sure about the future. Because this is not just a simple adoption as it needs support from the government as well.
