1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Street Gambling Risk on: March 13, 2023, 12:30:54 PM
Is street gambling safe?
...

Well, gambling is not safe at first whether it was in the casinos or it was just on the street. But because you are done betting or gambling on the street, you hereby accept that you might lose or win. But honestly, if we would think about beating those people who manage gambling in the street, I was in doubt if we can do it. They are doing this for a living and they will have to protect it and earn money rather than paying these gamblers. Might some gamblers get really lucky and win but I would say that the majority are losing. However, it doesn't matter if we enjoyed playing as well.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 13, 2023, 11:44:35 AM
P.S. I just saw a Facebook post with regards to this rumor, and Sangalang himself debunked it saying that it was all fake newsCheesy Cheesy
You can look at the Facebook Page named "We Are PBA Updates". They posted it there. Well, I guess this is the end of that rumor?

That's great news. At least he confirmed that he will not be retiring. Sanggalang is still young, and I'm sure that as long as he works hard to get back in shape, he will still be the same player who contributed a lot to his team. Another big man who I haven't seen playing anymore is Mac Belo. He used to be a great player, but it seems like his career in the PBA didn't work out well. What happened to this guy?

Yup too early for Ian to retire his jersey, still have enough time to make a good comeback after what happened, with the technology nowadays it's not impossible to quickly regain your skills if you have that full determination, I like this guy so humble with a good food works and don't need to make it hard but just a simple one, just like how Tim Duncan play the game.

Looking forward to see him recover back, no need to rush but just to continue his journey. He's still young and still capable of playing ball.

When he is healthy, you can really tell how effective he is as a big man because he is left-handed. Maybe it's hard to defend a lefty guy in basketball. The rumors are too harsh. They don't realize that Sanggalang's job is very important, and retiring early would mean losing his passion. He might be haunted by this decision for failing his career.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 13, 2023, 11:15:45 AM

On the other hand, the duo of Randle and Barrett lead the Knicks scoring a total of 63 points to lead their team to victory after losing 3 straight. I thought that I will see the Lakers on .500 because it has been a long time since they got above .500, but it seems like it isn't happening at least this time. They'll play on the road for the next 2 games, and maybe they can win on both games to get to .500.

If Brunson was playing, the Knicks' offense would be smoother, as he would easily attract the defense, leading to his teammates being left open, especially for Randle, who is now very confident shooting beyond the arc. I still love the Knicks, though, as they have a balanced offense and defense. Although the Lakers have improved, the Knicks still know how to make the right adjustments to beat the home team.
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge really go to the moon? on: March 13, 2023, 08:52:52 AM
but I'm no longer sure about Shiba, I see Shiba Inu as playing with all its holders, besides that I see Shiba Inu as needing investors who have the most wealth like Elon Musk, without any tweets from Elon Musk then this Shiba doesn't mean anything. well, thus in my opinion the shiba inu is not worth holding for a long time
It is the same with altcoins that have no intrinsic market making capability, those which are not regularly shilles by celebs and so on, they die out a slow painful death for its investors. You can see some minor pumps from time to time but mostly they will remain low.

Shiba reached its best shot during the last bull season, everyone got amazed as there is another meme coin that does such an impressive pump. But if we think it gonna happen, we live in doubt. Most altcoins hunters are looking for another gem and forget about meme coins Doge and Shiba. In this case, we can no longer expect such a great trend ever and I never think Elon Musk could also please us shilling again Doge, and much more with Shiba Inu that have no use in the market.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Shiba Inu still worth it? on: March 12, 2023, 09:49:28 PM
It's worth the investment at early inception but right now it's a scary thing to invest with. They may have a chain that is linked to them namely Shibarium but there's still no assurance it would increase the value of it. There's a chance it won't. Expect more from the burning that they do, when the total number of coins gets lower then it could be for the better of their investors who have put their trust since Day 1. Do remember, this is still a memecoin and I suggest to stay away from it, but due to it's popularity it became one of the good choice when we are talking about memecoins only.
But for me, Shiba Inu is different from other meme coins. I'd see this Shibarium is one of their developing strategy to help Siha Inu be recognized more but it was been receiving negative views which actually affect the trust of the investors. Because as we can imagine, if Shiba is another shitcoins, we are supposed not to see it now in the market having that value. But fortunately, it was still one of the top 20 in the CMC which means that the demand is still high and has strong support from the community.
Of course, invest in the project that we trust most, we can't put Shiba Inu on our list if we have doubts.
1086  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: March 12, 2023, 09:30:49 PM
These are some reasons why people stay poor;
 - lack of motivation - they are contented with what they have today
 - laziness - there are a lot of opportunities around but they are prepared not to look at them rather than just sitting
 - mindset

I don't put education as a reason because we can still be rich without this as long as we work hard and find ways. In fact, running a business without education is still possible to succeed. Generally, it is really all about how we make ourselves to improve but we keep those things I've mentioned above, certainly nothing will happen to us.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 12, 2023, 01:16:21 PM
I agree, there's exactly nothing we can do about it. What we can do is to support the fights that they organize and if these fights are not interested enough to get our support then it's better for us not to watch it

It's not that promoters are the only ones to blame why we see failed negotiations of some of the most failed anticipated fights that are being looked forward to witness by most boxing fans. Sometimes, the boxer themselves is doing a clear ducking and will just consider fighting depending on what they think is the right time.

Lots of expected fights already were expected to happen during the peak but just happened later on which is not totally exciting anymore.

Notable examples are, Pacquiao vs Mayweather, Canelo vs GGG trilogy, Crawford vs Spence, and many more.

No one is to blame here. In order for a fight to be realized, both parties and the promoters must agree to the terms and conditions. If one party does not agree, then the fight is not going to happen. That is why there is a contract that they must follow. Also, since their negotiations are confidential, if we blame someone, we are just speculating.
1088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 12, 2023, 12:56:05 PM
Speaking of injury, i have read reports/rumors that Ian Sangalang might retire from the PBA due to health issues. Anyone knows here what's the real situation of Sangalang as i have not seen him playing for some time now.

I thought he would only miss the conference while still in the recovery period for his undisclosed injury or health issue

According to this article.  https://sports.inquirer.net/499148/ian-sangalang-ruled-out-of-pba-governors-cup-to-focus-on-recovery-from-illness
Quote
A recent photo on social media showed Sangalang appearing to have lost some weight, which Victolero explained earlier in the conference was due to the effects of a typhoid fever sustained last November.

That gives us an idea of what his health problem may be, but I don't want to speculate further. I just hope that he will recover, and the rumors about him retiring are not true.
1089  Economy / Speculation / Re: If history repeats itself: 2023 vs 2019 on: March 11, 2023, 09:46:01 PM
...

My only thought for today is whether a USDT implosion, following the USDC sell-off, could cause another +20% move to the upside, back to around $24K.

The price trend shows such a good indication that we are most likely to be going up rather than moving down. I won't just expect $24k but $25k...lol
Honestly, we can't be sure that the USDC sell-off will affect the market long term. If this will sustain until next quarter, that be a huge bump in the market but I don't think this is enough to lead the market to a bullish one. This is a twist on the market history and something to note that not all happen in the past will also happen in the current days.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 11, 2023, 09:22:28 PM

One thing I learn here is that we shouldn't put so much of our savings into bitcoin we should make sure to keep some fiat sum for cases of emergencies as this. So an emergency situation that demands money doesn't easily have to thwart your bitcoin investment plan.
That is what we are supposed to do. There should have a separate money allocation for investment and for emergencies but it can't be enough, sometimes we need to sacrifice our investments. But that is only the reason, I don't think it was regretful as we are saving someone's life which is very important unless there is another option like borrowing money from other people. This is an unpredictable scenario but we can correct this and should be anticipated the next time.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 11, 2023, 11:33:31 AM
What's the update now? Is the PBA All-Star still continuing? When is the All-Star Game? I searched on YouTube for a streaming link, but I couldn't find any related videos. I'm guessing the All-Star Game is tomorrow. Could you please confirm this?
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 11, 2023, 11:10:55 AM
^^ Yes, it was very obvious that Loma's ambition is to be ea unified champion ever since he step up in the ring. As for the source, Paulie M? I mean there are a lot of former boxers that have their own opinion on this fight, and for me Paulie is not a good source of info, just saying.

Loma has been telling this to the public ever since he step up in pro boxing, so there is no surprises here. It was just he lost to Teo Lopez and then had a rough time specially with the war in the background in his native country.
That's the goal of every boxer: they want to be the best of the best. In the case of Loma, we can certainly see how good he is, but his loss to Teo really changed people's minds on how they see Loma now. Some think he is not in his prime anymore, and that Haney is even better than Teo, so how can he win this fight? I understand he is the underdog, but it doesn't matter. I like him to win.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 10, 2023, 09:40:54 PM
I joined Airdrops a long time ago. Many of them got good profit from Airdrops like DAPPX, LTX, Zilliqa etc. Some of them cost $100+. And I know some Telegram channels where legitimate airdrops are shared such as Airdrop Detective, Airdrop Inspector, Airdrop Ninja, Official Airdrop6, Airdrop Star etc
I wonder if those amount is still possible to these days. I never earned a single penny from airdrops ever and I do not even receive a token from my MEW back then. What's worse is that some fake projects just wanted to mess with me by trying to bait me into their phishing site which they believe that I would easily fall, lol.

The same could be said almost to some bounties I joined although I know they're a little bit different from each other.
Though I'd never help myself joining again in the airdrop, I still know that some projects are generous to give rewards to the hunters. But unfortunately, we can never expect it to have a good market value because most of these airdrops are not yet listed on any exchanges. It means that even though we got those rewards, still useless as we can never sell them. I'd never see this would be a reason why it was encouraging to join them. Yes, they are free and lesser tasks but if the situation just ended up stuck in our wallet, that is useless.
We can't really find airdrops like before...not anymore, maybe.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free sports betting tip on: March 10, 2023, 03:12:26 PM

We will start today and i will be preparing two parlays .[/b]
I'm interested in NBA picks, but not parlays, for a decent amount of money. Well, let's see how your picks go. I think maintaining a record would be nice so that everyone can follow your journey in sports betting. If you end up making a profit, it would be easy to build a community around your picks.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: March 10, 2023, 02:58:57 PM

This is a really a good test for Tim because Harrison is very good and durable opponent who gave Charlo his only lost so far. Right, win-win situation for Harrison as well, if he wins then maybe he will be the mandatory for Charlo again.

This fight is a challenge for both fighters, as the winner will have the opportunity to fight Charlo. While Tim Tszyu is a slight favorite, I wouldn't be too convinced that he will win easily. The winner of this fight will surely be deserving of the opportunity to fight the champion.

It would be very entertaining to watch a knockout in this fight. With Tony Harrison having 21 knockout wins from 29 fights, he is definitely not a boring fighter and has a high KO percentage.
I guess we’ll gonna witness a good and challenging fight here. Tim and Tony are both hard punchers, but I am rooting more for Tony as he is certainly an obvious knockout master so let’s see as to how this fight will end, or it will be another remarkable knockout game by Tony. However, Tim on the other hand has also impressive boxing record so definitely, Tim is never an easy fighter too.

This means that it's hard to predict who will win between these two boxers. However, based on the latest betting odds, Tszyu is a heavy favorite with 1.35, while Harrison has 3.15. Therefore, it will be a huge upset if Harrison wins this fight.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: reasons why someone wants to pay in tether and not bitcoin? on: March 10, 2023, 12:35:20 PM
it's always the means of preventing the value from plummeting simply because of volatility, moreover if it's using USDT from blockchain like matic, it's gonna be significantly cheaper and faster, the confirmation would arrives almost immediately. but surely the main concern is saving the value of the money, because sometimes, massive correction could occur within minutes and your money would already either get reduced or increasing.
Not the case we have to worry if we just only paying Bitcoin to Bitcoin because the value will remain like 1BTC = 1BTC. But if we are paying Bitcoin to USDT, we can expect changes in its value and might it drop. That is why in this situation, users are preferred to use USDT to USDT in order to make no change in its value, and $50 = $50. And considering the transaction fees and confirmations could be a big factor that people had to choose Tether over BTC.
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: March 09, 2023, 09:20:24 PM
...
Are they asking because they know there are special skills in altcoin analyses or some people are good at picking g g the right coin to invest in?
Perhaps you are right. Some people/investors are good at picking and market analysis, and some of them are spending more time in the market and checking new projects' progress. And asking for their opinion is a big help for newbies to decide what to invest in and lighten up. Like if you are a newbie, not actually necessary but I think it was more advisable to do this just to avoid investing in a wrong /scam project. But yes, we also have to do our own research, not just rely on their opinion.
We can make research and compare what we produce from the research we do with the opinions of other people. Sometimes we cannot fully trust other people's opinions and we cannot completely trust them, it depends on what project they suggest. If we do our own research we can find out the reasons that make other people suggest or not to invest in the new project. For the decision, it becomes a decision that is absolutely in our hands. But the decision must be in accordance with our research, lest we do it by trying our luck.
Well, we might rely on luck on our first try but it doesn't mean we have to do this the next time. Because I believe that a newbie must adhere and spend more time in the market studying the market behavior in order to gain more ideas. Research should be done and taken seriously but collecting opinions from others could somewhat help us a lot to identify which projects are worth investing and we already have the option so we don't waste our time but rather focus on those suggested projects.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 09, 2023, 04:39:24 PM
snip
the good thing about him is that when he does play, he still delivers his usual production.

Because he is actually being able to perform well whenever he is eventually being able to play, I believe that they should give him enough rest so that when he is able to play, he is performing great. Now if they do not give him proper rest, he is going to be more injured and he will also not be able to perform well when he is playing. Now if this is unacceptable for the team, and they want to replace him, it is totally understandable. But if they want to have him, they will have to make some sacrifices.

The Suns have the liberty to give Durant more rest since they are in the top 4 in the Western Conference, which means their playoff spot is relatively secure at the moment. In fact, the Suns only struggled when Booker was injured and out for a while. Now that he is back, they will be able to continue on their winning path while Durant waits to deliver big-time come playoffs.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 09, 2023, 03:47:38 PM
Yes, it could be, but what if both fighters have winning streak as well? Then where we will base out betting? So it's better to look at the age difference or who is it's prime or not. Although it can be negated, but at least this factor should be taken into consideration.

That is the struggle for us bettors because there is no fight that is already guaranteed, we are just basing on their chances and some other factors that we should take into consideration that could somehow play an important role to their upcoming fight. However, in this case, both of them came out from a win but with a different streaks and that could mean something.

And if that doesn't help, then perhaps we could somehow compare their recent performances from their previous fights as we could find something that could help us to figure things out.
The credentials of the two boxers that we are able to evaluate are the only factors that determine our odds of winning. The age of Loma is a factor and the Ortiz match demonstrated this. To his credit, Haney has performed remarkably twice on Kambosos. Additionally, Ortiz is not at the level of Kambosos. Anyhow, we might also think that the ring rust made it difficult for Loma to overcome the strategy of Ortiz. Therefore, our goal is to determine whether Loma will perform better than in his previous match with Ortiz. In addition to this match with Haney, if Loma will feature eighty percent, the more the better of his prime, It makes this an intriguing event.
That's the thing - we're comparing these two based on their last opponents. However, that's not a good way to measure who is better because Loma is experienced and is not a popular boxer for no reason. While Haney is one of the hottest boxers in his generation, he hasn't faced someone as smart and clever as Loma. I don't want to say something bad about Haney as I'm too biased - I like Loma to win, so that makes me biased.
1100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 09, 2023, 11:01:25 AM
Traders that has the problem of emotional fear when trading need to work on there emotion before entering into the market. Trading is a difficult task we need to get better skill on before we plan of entering into the market. The market is very competitive so we need to get enough skills so we can compete and make money from the market. Fear of executing trades we have analysed is what cam make us to grow more fear and lose more funds in the market. As a trader we must be confidence about the trade we are taking after analysimg the market and seeing opportunities that would earn us good amount of money.

I have determined for myself that trading does not like haste, if you are in doubt whether to enter a trade, then just skip it. I only buy on drawdowns, the cryptocurrency market is very responsive to negative news, and this happens quite often. It is not worth buying when the market is doing well, wait for some negative and buy on a fall, this is what works well for me.
Things can be changed when got influenced by our emotions and the most thing that happens is that we lost sight of following our plan.
Yes, if we can feel that trading never suits us, we better leave but too unfortunate that some people will push themselves to do this even though it was clear that they are not performing well and continuously losing. In this case, we'd rather make our decision to just become a holder, not a trader anymore.
