1141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 23, 2023, 10:16:25 AM
San Antonio vs Dallas -13.5
I haven't seen Dallas win a game yet with Kyrie and Luka playing together, so I might as well still bet against them. I'm taking the other side and placing a bigger bet compared to my bet on the moneyline.

GSW vs LA Lakers -5.5
Portland vs Sacramento -5

I'll go with the underdogs, as both Portland and the Warriors are decent teams. Just because they will be playing on the road, it doesn't mean they'll lose. These teams know how to win, so I think they are undervalued in this matchup.
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 23, 2023, 09:56:32 AM
I think the stamina of Donaire is probably the biggest enigma about him, since the pandemic started he has fought only 3 times, not a single one of those fights have gone farther than the 4 round and in aggregate he has only fought for 10 total rounds, and for someone which is 40 years old keeping up with a youngster which is only 27 years old could be problematic, and unless he can beat him during the first rounds he could get in trouble simply due to the superior endurance and stamina of Santiago.

No matter how fast and strong he is when he won't get a chance to land those power punches in the early rounds he would be in real trouble when his opponent will start to get serious and he is out of stamina. He is just like another soon to retired boxer when he reaches that age because no matter how hard his training is when he gets old, he will start to slow down and he is injury prone. But he is still not gonna back off when it comes to his opponent because we know him, he likes to gamble his power punches and take those counters just to land serious damage against his opponent.

I wouldn't consider that a possibility, as Donaire had been dominating in the bantamweight division prior to his fight with Inoue. Even though Inoue has moved up, we can still consider Donaire a serious threat to anyone who wants to compete for the belts. Donaire has matured in boxing, and he knows how to exploit his opponent's weaknesses using his advantages.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give it a break. on: February 20, 2023, 01:10:46 PM
As well know that LUCK is not all the time with us which is why winning straight from gambling is really impossible.
I could remember that I have 3 straight wins, I thought it continues and I put everything I win into the last 3 games. Then I just realized that it was not the real thing to happen in gambling, we never know exactly what will happen next - and I lose them all.

That is why I keep a limit when gambling. If I bet $10 in my first bet, the next couple of bets is still the same, $10 per bet. I did this just not to lose all my money in an instant which is my mistake before.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 20, 2023, 11:24:56 AM

Both are coming from a huge loss and this is what makes this fight so exciting to watch, the winner will move forward to the title while the loser will have a hard climb to get into the rank, nobody wants two successive losses especially if you're a former champion like these two.

I believe only Magsayo is coming off a huge loss because if we check the stats of Brandon Figueroa, he had one loss but that was prior to his last fight against Stephen Fulton, who is currently the opponent of Inoue. I believe Magsayo should be the more desperate fighter here, as he lost his belt in his last fight and needs to redeem himself in this fight.
1145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: February 20, 2023, 08:43:10 AM

That is why whoever we are, knowledge is one of the keys that must be owned. knowledge as the basis of everything for us to do something, moreover to do a certain high-risk activity.
And no way we can survive trading if we don't have any idea about what we are doing. Because trading is not gambling where we just need luck but this really needs knowledge and skills. Yes, trading is risky so we don't think it was an easy job for us but serious stuff that literally needs knowledge in order to earn a profit and succeed. Otherwise, we stop thinking about winning cause is it absolutely impossible in the case that OP had.
1146  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 19, 2023, 09:52:34 PM
The definition of debt is good for emergency purposes or for urgent needs, if taking a loan to cover other loans is not recommended unless the lender asks to pay off the loan before the payment agreement period due to an urgent need, but if you play with loan problems it will harm yourself because you have to pay interest from loans and finally he will not be trusted anymore even if he asks for another loan when he is destitute.
What you are expressing, I think, is very appropriate because if someone borrows money to cover other loans he has taken from different people, then the problem will never be finished in his life and that is not a very good option to do. except as you said, where someone has to immediately pay off all of his old loans because he has been asked by the old borrower. But if it weren't for that, I don't think it would be right to make a new loan to cover his old one
Well, the reality is that it was too easy to get a loan from people but it was to repay it on time. The idea of taking a loan in order to pay another loan is not really the best thing to do as it only multiplies your debts and later on, it totally compromised our finances and it reaches the point that we can't pay them back as it was promised. It was hard to find a solution if we are just reliant on single sources of income. In this case, we need to look for a side hustle otherwise, we can't get out of debt anymore.
1147  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we now on Crypto bull run? on: February 19, 2023, 09:29:26 PM

The important thing now is that we have started to accumulate bitcoin even if only little by little and many are also hoping for a bull run to enter and bitcoin will reach 100k$ each or maybe even more than that.

DCA is a common practice by many investors, they bought some Bitcoin during the dip and then hold.
It is very important that we also have to analyze the market trend as well, not just buy directly without doing anything like checking its performance in the past days. We have to note that we are not in control of the price of Bitcoin and it moves up and down anytime a reason why we should be wise enough and know its position before buying.

but anyways, I don't hope for $100k in this current situation, not yet.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 19, 2023, 11:02:44 AM
Well, Loma is not too old to think it's because of his age, I'd like to believe it's because of his background that's why he is rusty in his last fight. It might not be his best performance like what fans looked forward for but still he did well and managed to win.
He must have been a little complacent in that fight because he was the heavy favorite, and we're just not impressed with his performance. Anyway, he did his job and won the fight, so I think he still deserves the respect.

Anyway, he really need to improve his performance if he wants to beat Haney incase their fight will push through. Because Haney is fearless, confident and an impressive boxer. Moreover he is much younger which is an advantage for him.
This one is different, though. He is the underdog, and he understands that it's the biggest fight of his career. A young champion is trying to dominate, but Loma is still definitely here. Maybe he's not in his prime based on what we've seen, but he will try to prove us wrong in this fight.
1149  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 19, 2023, 10:47:12 AM
...
Spot can be a nice start for newbies from what i have seen from the market so far. Since it only entails buying and holding until the asset appreciates just that it will only require patience since little or no technical skill is needed although with technical skill the trader can have more advantage over the market.
Spot trading is actually suitable for newbies. And even I was in trading for many years, I was still Opt to take this rather than trying Future trading because I was already comfortable with this. It was not wrong to take Future trading but must take note the higher risk involve which could cause big losses. It is indeed we need to prepare ourselves very well if we have plan for this. We don't need to hurry, we can go over there as long as we have carried enough trading knowledge and market experience.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 19, 2023, 10:38:30 AM

The spread for the first game is Ginebra -12 against Blackwater, while the spread for the second game is SMB -4 against TNT.

That was an easy one. Ginebra dominated the game and ended up winning by 26 points. It's a huge bounce back after losing previous games, but you know Blackwater is not really a downgrade. They changed their import, but the new import wasn't as good as the old one. Their import only scored 14 points while Brownlee had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
1151  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: February 18, 2023, 09:37:32 PM
there are many people investing in bitcoin, some are profitable and some are losing. and I believe bitcoin has a big advantage. The question is whether when you benefit from bitcoin, you can help your economy and your family?
Some people can't appreciate it and can't see the benefits it has but for me, I would say that it helps me a lot. The reason I come to investing Bitcoin is to earn money and gladly I'd never fail what I expected to happen. Of course, not really it gives me profit or to anyone. In fact, I'm also suffering losses in my early days due to bad decisions but I never quit and learn from those mistakes until I succeed and come into my current situation now where I can provide a good living for my family. That is the benefit that we are able to get from hard work and patience in investing in crypto.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alts Blood Bath for Feb? on: February 18, 2023, 11:45:18 AM
I'd never see a reason for the drops other than investors/whales are selling off their altcoins as the prices are in the pump. I'd see we are turning back to accumulation season again. This month altcoins are not performing so well but if the price of Bitcoin remains above $20k, altcoins won't even drop more.

Despite the sudden change in altcoins prices, I was still okay and I will still hold my ETH and BNB until the next bull season. In the current situation, trust is really important and most of all, to keep positive rather than been affected with the drops.
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 18, 2023, 11:18:44 AM

Let's discuss the ongoing game between DYIP and Phoenix. The first half is over, and Phoenix is holding a significant 19-point lead. I think DYIP will have a hard time coming back in this game due to the huge deficit. Also, it seems that their import, Williams, is not very productive with only 10 points from very poor shooting. This is probably his worst performance with only a 2-10 shooting record so far.

30 points now and less than 5 minutes and I also agree that it will be tough for DYIP to rally back unless Phoenix will give them all the free shots coming in the final quarter. Something that we might not expect but sometimes it's happening but hopefully not today.

I thought DYIP would be competitive enough when their import showed a great game early in the conference, but it's a different import we are seeing now. Probably because of the suffocating defense of Phoenix, they can't find an answer on how to produce some offense. It's a high-scoring game for Phoenix, but DYIP is currently struggling, especially with their three-point shooting.

We are now in the fourth quarter. Maybe they will win this quarter, but it's impossible to win the game.

Let's forget about that team. They are a trash team because they are only used as a farm team by big teams in the PBA. They may have some good games, but there's no consistency in this team. They lost by 25 points against Phoenix, which shows that they are not a competitive team.

Meanwhile, we have Converge vs NLEX. This game would probably turn out to be low-scoring because of their tight defense. The good import match up makes me believe that this will be different from the first game's outcome, and it should be a close game.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 18, 2023, 10:42:12 AM
It's Fulton's time now to break that momentum and protect his thrown. We will see who's going to stand tall after the fight.

Although he is the champion, it seems that we are hoping he will be able to survive against Inoue. The fight between Inoue and Donaire was quite different because Donaire was the challenger, while here, it's Inoue who is the challenger, but people view him as the champion.

There is a huge pressure on Foltun because the majority of the fans do not believe he can beat the Monster, but let's see what happens during the fight night

Even before this fight, he already knew that. In fact, there was a statement from his camp that they needed to win because they were representing their country. That's how big they see this fight and the amount of success they will achieve if they win. Foltun did not show weakness in his press conference or statements, but we all know that everyone is scared of the Monster once they are in the ring.
1155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 17, 2023, 09:46:26 PM
Trading addiction is too different from gambling addiction or any of those you have mentioned and I think it was not necessary to be in rehab to cure such addiction. It was indeed becoming an addiction if we are in profit. Why do we have to submit ourselves to such a place if we know that we are addicted for good, not like in gambling we lose more?

Might this thing exist but I don't think anyone will do this.
True, if we only get addicted because we are in constant profits, well at least we should be thankful for it rather than cure it. Because it does not make sense really that you’ll get addicted to trading if you endure losses most of the time, probably if you chase for more profits, maybe trading addiction will possibly develop. But trading is different from gambling, it’s like trading addiction is curable than gambling, so for me, this rehabilitation center may not be totally in need for traders.
We could think it was good but thinking about addiction, that somewhat has a negative impact on our lives which we never see. Addiction might be good because they are in profit but it was still beyond the limitation and could affect us mentally which we need to control and slow down. Yes, it was different from gambling addiction but of course, we need to fix this "addiction" to stop in order to anticipate the possible worse scenario in the future which we might regret our whole life.
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: February 17, 2023, 09:33:59 PM
right now I see the price of bitcoin on an exchange which is 21750, and has decreased by approximately 6% and I want to ask everyone,
is it possible that bitcoin will return to the price of 19000? or after this decline bitcoin will go back up higher ,,,?

and also I want to know what caused the bitcoin price to drop drastically?
We have no hold on it, whether it drops or it stays above $20k, nothing we can do for it but to accept that this is really how the market works. However, with the current market situation, I couldn't think for now that it drops to $19,000 unless the momentum will change because for me, it was just a common price correction and it drops when huge selling has done. I don't look at the 6% drop in a day or two but I look at the weekly performance which is still doing well.
1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 17, 2023, 11:31:25 AM
Could be a blessing in disguise for Donaire he is preparing for the Moloney fight but here he is fighting a guy whose skill is lower than Moloney, Santiago is smaller than Donaire and we all know that Donaire is very good when he is fighting small guys.
Santiago fought Ancajas in 2018 and ended in a draw but Donaire is miles away when it comes to skill his only advantage is his age, but Donaire still has the power and speed but he needs to knock out Santiago in the early rounds.
I think Maloney and Santiago are different fighters. The preparation is usually for a specific fighter because the strategy should always match the opponent's strategy. A good example is Manny Pacquiao preparing for Spence, but the fight did not happen, so Ugas was sent as a replacement. In that fight, Manny Pacquiao lost because he was not preparing for Ugas.
1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 17, 2023, 10:55:51 AM

Westbrook is not a totally bad player now. While his performance declined with the Lakers, he still had impressive stats when he played with the Rockets and Wizards. I wouldn't be surprised if he landed with the Clippers, as right now, the team needs someone aggressive enough to spread the floor, and Westbrook can certainly deliver that.

It's just a matter of chemistry that's important for the team, since Westbrook already has the talent. His shooting has improved, and his athleticism is still there.

Though his skills are good, they don't seem to find a way to win more games with him on the court, I wonder what's always happened out there. It's just this dude is a stroke of whole lousy luck with any team he is in. The guy is doing his all but it's just not enough to take his team to the finals and the last time he did that was when he was in OKC with KD and Harden. Whatever team takes him, I'm sure he will go to work harder than before to make that team improve and I'm sure he loves to be in a team where he can be useful to them.

Westbrook used to be a good player in OKC. He was able to play with Durant and Harden and still contribute with consistency. Let us not forget that he was once an MVP, averaging a triple-double, and he still has that game now. Unfortunately, his role might not fit with the Lakers as we know LeBron is the king of this team and would always dictate what to do.

With the Clippers, I think they are playing good team basketball. If Westbrook is able to play his role well, then I'm pretty sure he will be one of the biggest reasons for this team to improve in their upcoming games. It's very exciting to know where he will end up, but we have no choice now but to wait for the result.
1159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your limit on: February 16, 2023, 09:45:36 PM
Avoid ending up like a friend, who used all the money he has to invest in bitcoin and also took a loan, promising the lender that he will pay back when he gets paid in a month, after a month he never received the salary, I warned him doing this, because he has no doubt mixed investment with 'whatever it takes', is it safe to call this greed? I don't know.

He needs investment advice and that is your responsibility now. But based on his statement, doubted if he would listen to you. What I can see is that he already got an influence on what he sees on the internet bringing them a huge interest in putting his money into an investment that he is not really familiar with and does not even have experience with. Yes, that is already greediness and we know what is the possible outcome of such an idea, losing. If he won't listen, that was his decision and I believe you have done with your part already.
1160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Enough? on: February 16, 2023, 09:16:17 PM
Is 0.1BTC a lot and enough for long-term holding? I calculate my extra income that I use for DCA and I feel like this is the range of BTC I will end up owning on the long run, anything more will put me in a very tight position or maybe I need to upgrade my side job to earn more for investing into Bitcoin. What do you feel about this? 0.1 BTC good enough or not.
Just consider your capacity to hold OP. Because you don't need to push yourselves to invest beyond the amount that you can afford to lose and if you think that 0.1BTC is enough, then that is enough. You can increase your limit in the future when you think you can manage it and of course, when you have extra money to risk as well. Honestly, 0.1BTC is big enough for a casual investor even like me. Though we think that holding a lot of Bitcoin can make us more profitable but we also consider our position if we can make it.
