1181  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 09, 2023, 09:20:43 PM
Untouchable Saving is a sort of preparation for whatever happens to us like for emergencies and many people are doing this. It is actually we can do this if we wanted to do it and have a plan but in your case OP, I don't think we need to sacrifice our health just to spend less and save some money because it might lead to huge expenses if our health got compromised. We can do savings in the other way, what I did before is to walk from school to our house to save my fair and keep it.

Savings is good but we are also affected by the inflations. It was better to save less but invest more.

1182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: February 09, 2023, 08:44:57 PM

Well anyway, trading is a game of emotions and revenge is one of the cruel emotions in my view which can destroy your portfolio. So take my humble advice and forget about the GF revenge from the trading pair and move to the next one not GF to a new pair.
The more we lose control of our emotions, the more we lose - that is the reality. Chasing what we lost in the past is a big mistake as this will also trigger high emotions and brings more losses. That is indeed we need to forget what we did wrong in the past but instead, we make those things as a lesson and make a reason why we should be more careful today and in the coming days. We also have to keep in mind that trading is not always earning a profit and losing is a part of it.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 09, 2023, 11:13:39 AM
Inoue's fans, what can you say about this?

https://www.ringtv.com/649277-exclusive-stephen-fulton-and-trainer-say-beating-naoya-inoue-in-japan-is-key-to-respect-in-america/

They really think that it's a big war and they need to win so their country will be respected.
Looks like they are the ones thinking that way, it's not the battle of USA vs JAPAN, this is a sport, it's boxing and entertainment.
Well, if they think that way, good for them as that means they'll have to work hard to find a way to beat Inoue.

What a weird article posted on Ring's website. I think the point is about Fulton not getting the attention and big respect in the US even if he owns 2 belts while Inoue is glorified not just in Japan but in the whole world. Inoue is ranked 2nd best pound for pound in the world and beating him would make Fulton very popular and probably get ranked in the top 10 p4p by The Ring.

I hope everything is finalized soon since this is a great fight. Fulton might think that Inoue's punches are just the same or even lesser than those of Brandon Figueroa whom he survived and won a very close fight.

Fulton should really take this as the biggest fight of his career. Though he is the defending champion Inoue is still the more popular boxer, not only in Japan but in the whole world. The thing is, Inoue is the heavy favorite here, so Fulton being the champion might felt he was not respected, so he will try everything to upset Inoue and he'll enjoy the popularity that he never had before.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 09, 2023, 10:50:01 AM
Earlier, Moloney and his team were excited to face Donaire and hoped to bring the fight to Australia. Things changed though when Moloney's promoter Bob Arum said that he do not want to deal with Donaire's promoter Probellum due to its connections with the Irish crimelord Daniel Kinahan. Personally, I am doubtful about Arum's alibi. Maybe Arum just wanted an easier opponent for Moloney.
Exactly, because they should have not made an announcement that they'll fight Inoue if they know that fact in the first place. I mean, the decision of Moloney's camp is still up to the approval of their promoter, so they'll not say anything that they'll cancel in the end, it's just not good for their reputation.

Bob Arum is good in looking for easy opponent of his fighter, you know, he wants to make them a cash cow so that money will continue to flow.
1185  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: February 06, 2023, 01:08:29 PM
snip~
Sure thing, I got ya! Variety is definitely key when it comes to casinos, they need to keep their customers entertained and coming back for more. Not just by offering new games, but also by doing good with their earnings. Supporting charities and giving back to the community is a great way to show that the casino is not just focused on making money, but also making a positive impact.

I totally agree with you about choosing companies that support charitable causes. It feels good to know that our money is going towards something good, and it's definitely a factor to consider when making purchases.

Anyways, the purpose of many gamblers are here to be entertained or else, they think about winning the jackpot prize. So, it is basically it needs for the casino owner to make their site more appealing than others to make it more competitive and will encourage non-gamblers as well to visit and play. A lot of casinos are now available and they are competing in terms of bonuses and rewards. And some are joining charitable programs in order to recognize. We know the influence in social media and it can be a useful asset if the site is involved in major events and something like charity programs.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 06, 2023, 11:11:06 AM

There's only one way to find out, they need to win their game next time. Next game will be this February 10, they'll be playing the Phoenix SUER LPG, I think they have a chance of winning here, but it still defends if they will get a good import, because if they'll have the same import as their present, then most likely that losing streak will continue.

Exactly, however, let's look at the highlights play of their new import which is Antonio Hester.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/magnolia-taps-antonio-hester-to-replace-import-eric-mccree-a793-20230205

We can check his stats here ; https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/64141/antonio-hester
and one of his highlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsY5S-dyrGg

At least we now have an idea about him, and based on the highlights, he is not new in the PBA.
1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 06, 2023, 10:40:11 AM
That's true, it's also been said for a long time that he really needs someone's help and there it goes through Kyrie. Hoping for the best of the two, and yes, it's really all about the chemistry because we've seen a team that's full of superstars but yet still didn't take any ring.
Chemistry is the key on their team and let's see how they'll be able to adjust to that and everyone is very optimistic with this addition for the Mavs.
It's a risky move by the Dallas Mavericks but it's worth a try though. By the way, for the information of everyone, Irving's contract will expire in less than a year, so it will give Dallas a huge problem if he will not sign with the Dallas. Well, I don't want to think of the negative possibility, I'm hoping that they'll play well so they have a shot of winning a championship together.
Luka is just getting the probable right help that he needs and that's why Dallas has decided to take him as soon as he's already expressed his desire of getting out of the Nets.
On the other hand, the Nets management has said that KD will stay on them and they're likely to build their roster with a new set of talented players but for how long and how soon enough?  Grin
Durant is not the old Durant who won championships with the Warriors, he became a fragile player now that could be injured anytime, so there's no assurance that even if he will stay the Nets will be a championship team. The thing is, if they rely solely on Durant, what would happen if he'll get injured?
1188  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 06, 2023, 08:37:13 AM
Trading can be a lonely and boring business at some point because, you do not have anyone to talk to and are just alone with your computer, phone, or tablet in your room, just trading. And many newbies may at some point think that they are probably wasting too much of their time. If you are in this situation right now, I want you to know that you are not wasting your time.
It was too boring and a waste of time if we keep on losing. Trading is not for everyone, so we never expect that everyone who tried trading will stay or will succeed. Honestly, it needs passion and motivation - not all traders have this kind of attitude.
Quote
If you are an experienced trader reading this, how did you know that you were not wasting your time trading at the time when you felt this way?
- Newbies must invest first in knowledge before trading
 - Must not be afraid to lose their money, it is a trial and error
 - Must not be afraid to commit mistakes for this is the reason why we learn more
 - Willing to adapt to the market condition
1189  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think Bottom is gone on: February 05, 2023, 09:44:11 PM
I am not very familiar with technical analysis but I also think that the bottom of the bitcoin price has passed and we will no longer see $17k worth of bitcoin. those who still hold the bitcoin they have must be very happy right now because their faith in bitcoin is paying off, soon we will see a new ATH from bitcoin.
I understand, in fact, not all are good at TA but I think by just looking at the market trend it seems easy to speculate the market and could literally think that we are moving high. However, it was too early to think about ATH, and not even sure that after halving will come to that situation again. Yet, we remain optimistic about the future because even though it won't reach $70,000 or $60,000 again, at least we see that Bitcoin couldn't just also stay below $20,000 as well.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are good at using the most hyped utility on: February 05, 2023, 02:11:58 PM
What we need to understand is that scammers are also constantly increasing their knowledge and information. They sometimes make reasonable projects, but in the end, they turn them into scams.
Perhaps, they are making this for a living which makes them push themselves even if it can ruin their reputation. And I believe that they are immune to such things and they will continue their doings no matter what.
Scammers are smarter than us, than normal investors which is why they can easily trick us and fall into their hands. I would admit that I once become a victim of this act, investing in hype projects but unfortunately, all of a sudden my money is gone. That experience gives me the realization and to step out from investing in new projects.
1191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Deal with Volatility? on: February 05, 2023, 12:41:35 PM
It was indeed worrying for those who are not risk-takers and of course, for those who don't understand the nature of the market.
The volatility of the market is not the thing we consider a threat but indeed, it was a beneficial tool to help us traders and investors to gain profit. As we can see, the sudden pump of Bitcoin becomes widely talk not only in social media but also in the business world. It means that it attracts more attention and curiosity which brings more people to invest.
1192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - take profits or continue to DCA? on: February 05, 2023, 11:59:12 AM
...

Is anyone taking profits or are most of us just DCA?

I do both, sometimes I sell coins and use my profit to invest in other coins. In this way, I safeguard my capital and let my profit continue playing.
Honestly, we need to be wise in this bear situation, we use to take advantage of the volatility of the market as we can't just rely on holding but to play with it. Making a few bucks is a single coin like just holding for a month or two isn't bad actually as we never waste time. I even applied this strategy to Bitcoin as well and I see it works find.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 05, 2023, 10:48:24 AM
I'm a bit curious about the line of Denver vs Timberwolves. Can anyone explain why Denver is only -1.5 knowing how good they are and the Wolves are struggling? I get that they are into a back-to-back game, but as long as Jokic will not rest, I think they will likely dominate the Wolves.

And also, Jokic will not have a  heavy load carrying the team because they have Murray who fill the points stats already.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 05, 2023, 10:10:56 AM
The first half is over and Magnolia keeps the lead.

47-51 is the halftime score, and those who trust the SMB to win here will get good odds, 1.60 ML and -3.5 only for the spread.
So what do you think guys? is it worth taking or is it just a trap waiting to collect our money?

Top scorer of the game is Paul Lee with 14 points.

SMB had a big 3rd quarter run, and they are in the lead by 9 points entering the 4th quarter. Looks like Magnolia's offense is not working anymore, they only score 19 points in the 3rd quarter while SMB had 32 points. But it's still too early to conclude, we still have the whole 4th quarter, so let's see how this game goes.
1195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If You Could Start Over, How Would you Learn Day Trading on: February 04, 2023, 09:46:23 PM
I actually start knowing crypto trading by doing online research and by asking friends on social media, and it works fine for me until I reach my goal. If I start over, I will do the same but maybe this time, I was even more aggressive than before. Why? Because we already have a basis that crypto is growing, unlike before when every drop comes could make me think it was an end and then get crazy to sell. What I need to change is the behavioral approach to the market and I must carry such positivity so I can make good decisions and less mistakes.
1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: February 04, 2023, 02:38:32 PM
Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrency and most altcoins are way less qualified in terms of credibility, fanbase, high returns with minimal risks etc. I am trying my best to analyze altcoin projects but the results are not pleasant. What makes an altcoin really trustworthy ? And why ? Please let me know your opinions.

As of today, only a few altcoins are considered to be reliable and trustworthy.  The factor that makes a project reliable and trustworthy is its decentralization and at the same time the time, it had proven that it won't scam its holders.  The integrity of the team is also one huge factor but when a new project is created the project developer needs to prove how reliable and trustworthy their project is.
Not all because I can see that some projects are run by good developers and a strong team like Tera Luna but in the long run, it turns scam.
The only thing I can see that I project is trustworthy is when it possesses a long-term plan as in this way they already have the things to do. Because a project will survive if they have a concrete plan and if they look for the welfare of everyone, not just for the company itself.
It was very unfortunate that most of the new projects today have been governed by greed, which is why they will never stay long in the market but collapse.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 04, 2023, 12:18:55 PM
If Bossing will not make a big run in the 3rd quarter, then this game is already over before the 4th quarter. Their import is contributing as usual, unfortunately, the locals have some problem in producing points. I would say this is a big bounce back of Meralco after losing to the Terrafirma Dyip.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 11:24:55 AM
Let's discuss about the upcoming games. We have the Boston Celtics who came from a major win playing the visiting Phoenix Suns, can they have a another big win and cover the -9.5 spread? Also, we have the Utah Jazz who beat the Raptors, now trying to have another win against a visiting Atlanta Hawks, what's the bets pick here?
Phoenix Suns are inconsistent versus the consistent Boston Celtics. That may be the reason for the high spreads.
Jazz versus Hawks is a close one, I mostly avoid this kind of game.
They are inconsistent yes, because we are expecting them to lose and yet what we had witnessed was the opposite of our expectations.
Big win by the Suns, they really have that pride that they are a good team, sometimes they lose big, sometimes they win big, and it happened in this game.

8 games tomorrow. But only 5 games are listed on Stake.com and I don't know why. Perhaps, I am too early.  Grin Tried refreshing but the same result.

Detroit Pistons - Charlotte Hornets - Charlotte Hornets ML I know Detroit Pistons could sometimes surprise us but so does the Hornets especially when LaMelo Ball finds his rhythm on outside shots. This is a game of both teams at the tail of the Eastern Conference.

San Antonio Spurs - Philadelphia 76ers - Philadelphia 76ers (-10.5) - Joel Embiid is questionable to play but I don't doubt the 76ers remaining stars, especially Harden and Harris, and they still have their strong bench. Tre Jones is doubtful to play for the Spurs.

I will just wait for the other games to pop out of Stake.com and edit this one later.
Good luck everyone.

Pistons vs Charlotte game was very close, it was down to the wire. About the Sixers game, that was an easy win by the 76ers, I guess they are top 3 in the teams that has a good percentage of covering the spread.
1199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 03, 2023, 09:42:59 PM
...

Do you consider this FUD-spreading unethical or do "shaky hands" get what they deserve?
We can't stop these people no matter what we do but let them do it. Because if we have trust in our invested coins and in the market as well, it won't bother us honestly. But for those who are still in doubt about the market credibility, simple FUDs can make them terrified and panic. I'd see this is how the market works, a lot of FUDs contributed to the volatility of the market and even use as a medium to manipulate the market.
As I've said, if we are too confident about theor investment, there is no need to get bothered, instead to keep hold.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: February 03, 2023, 09:20:30 PM
2022 was certainly a bloody year for bitcoin investors and many drama played out in the crypto space but all that said we have manage to cross the year successfully to 2023.
If it's a bloody market, shouldn't we still hold the coin instead of selling it at a low price? Selling now while we bought it in the past is a risky thing because it will end in big losses. That's what will happen to me if I sell my assets in this bearish season. Because of that, I need even more enthusiasm and patience because I'm still holding on to face the bulls in the next few years. This may not be easy for someone who doesn't have a better option. and sometimes someone is forced to sell and lose because of a super-worse situation in the real world. Hopefully we can avoid that and continue to be able to hold Bitcoin and other crypto assets.
But if you are buying Bitcoin at its bottom price below $18,000 and then selling it at the current price, you are in profit. We couldn't tell also that it was not satisfying profit because, for beginners, that was big enough.
It is just about to say that the behaviors of investors today are different from those of old investors. Most of these new investors are just short-term investors and impatient. and most likely their mindset is easily affected by the market trend.
