281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good or Bad - Blackrock Buying BTC on: April 01, 2024, 11:47:26 PM
So right now it seems the corporations want all of BTC. With Blackrock buying lots and lots of BTC. I consider this a catch 22 and a mix of good and bad.
What are your thoughts on this?
In the short term, Blackrocks buying of Bitcoin is good for the market and Hodlers as this translates into price soaring and more people believing in cryptos, but the unfortunate issue we not talking about is that one entity will control how bitcoin will grow once they have the lion's share of coins and I don't like it!!!
Tbh, if it were up to me..I would limit the number of coins one person or entity can owe at this point to try protect the markets in the long term to avoid market manipulation etcetera

Is this a case of too much too soon? or do you think Blackrock a good thing? thoughts?
As a business, I think they are trying to make sure they have enough Bitcoins to accommodate new investors coming for the Bitcoin spot ETF's..which is a good thing but should they derail from their vision then it's a bad move!!

283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Amazing Vintage Slot Machines on: April 01, 2024, 08:15:45 PM
This is the work of an amazing machine engineer, who can create such an intricate slot machine.
If Online casinos are now using software to program Slot Machines and there may be some manipulation being done,
Everyone that has played on an online casino has had this thought run in their mind, and I guess if it has no reputation to lose they can indeed manipulate these games, but then again most casinos don't really have full control of these games , which means that the casino doesn't get the heat because most of our online casinos use third party game providers...unless it's an in-house casino game.

then what about Vintage slot machines like this?
Whether this Vintage slot machine can also be set to the wishes of the owner, or this will only depend on how lucky we are.
Actually these were a nuisance if you ask me, and this is based on many court cases I have seen online over unpaid winnings as a result of a faulty slot machine and casino refusing to honour their dues...but all in all like @chaser15 said..these were or still get audited to ensure fair game play Tongue but we all know who has the last say Roll Eyes

Not sure what to think about the Man City- Arsenal game because both teams were kind of reserved and from the onset gave that picture of Mutual respect suggesting both  would be comfortable for a draw especially that both are chasing the title at this stage.

And for this shocker of a result, I wonder how many punters have lost money because of the goalless game, because I don't think we saw a match without goals, what a way to wrap up the Easter weekend.

The most competitive match between Manchester City and Arsenal, with 74 minutes yet to be scored by either team.
Competitive match, noway buddy ..this was a boredraw without any action...let them keep picking on the smaller clubs lol
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 31, 2024, 10:11:05 AM
I'm disappointed in Chelsea i'v expected much more from them but sadly they have only done far less than I've expected, most of their players were actually rested during the international break but then it turned out they still weren't informed enough to get to the point where they can comfortably win teams like Burnley and get the three points, they literally had to struggle and have end up sharing points with burnely.
You sound like a Chelsea fan mate...anyway I can feel the disappointment especially that Chelsea was in a winning position and all they had to do was not concede being 2-1 up, and on top of that Burnley  were a man and coach down...jeez how do you even explain this..you simply can't  explain what happened especially that they were playing at home!!

But you know it's actually very difficult to play against a team that is fighting for survival with the league almost concluding, they will throw everything they have to try make a difference and it worked for them.. guess it's back to the drawing board and see if you can score all three points in the next game...

This Brentford pressure is real, am just not sure if it's the home advantage that's making the difference but United have failed to respond...come on boys pull up your socks!
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 30, 2024, 08:08:35 PM
Looking at the current Bundesliga log kind makes you question if the big dogs of the league have gotten bored of the lack of competition and left everything to run at autopilot...both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund nowhere near league leader Bayer Leverkusen 👀 who would have thought... With this performance I don't think Bayern has what it takes to compensate for this in the champions league either and I see them packing when the meet Arsenal no doubt that!!

Am also wondering what Harry Kane would be thinking right now for not helping his team not to secure another Bundesliga trophy 🏆,  and btw they will be lucky to finish second if they keep playing like underdogs as they seem to have given up.

Btw with that 13 point gap we seeing, it's safe to congratulate Bayer Leverkusen in advance, congrats boy's 🥳🥳🥂🎉🎊

After the international break we just had, I thought clubs such as Tottenham will put their house in order and get back to winning ways , but the nightmare seems to have continued..and at the moment they are chasing the game against Luton which is never an easy team to face as they are an offensive team. And not too sound one sided, Spurs have responded well after they conceded which has seen the lads create more chances but can't force a goal yet and if things keep going as they are, I see a draw coming.

Inplay prediction Tottenham 1-1 Luton

Edit: Spurs just equalized, maybe a winner coming  Roll Eyes

294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: March 30, 2024, 02:01:36 PM
If we look back at a time when Bitcoin wasn't a thing, you get to realise that access to gold wasn't easy and still isn't because you need to have some paperwork done if it goes above certain quantities which meant this was a problem for most people, but with the coming of our beloved digital gold .. owning Bitcoin is a flew clicks away and anyone can get their hands on some if not using some adult(18+) only platform(exchanges, gambling platforms etc).

Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold?
Yes it has, because it's readily available to everyone around the world and you don't need to have a gold mine for it to be available or in this case a Bitcoin mine.

And other reason it's an attractive asset, it's because pricing is uniform regardless of were one comes from...unless you using a third party that will charge extra for their middle man fees... otherwise BTC is by far better than gold in terms of ROI, security needed, and ease of access.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: March 30, 2024, 11:26:38 AM
Today I visited a friend who is a forex trader, according to him he trades on the USD, gold and BTC and I normally don't fancy the idea of trading because it appears a bit complex for my understanding and from my little knowledge, it seems as though trading is almost same as gambling because at the end of your analysis you're not sure of the outcome of the trade since it's basically a short term adventure and the volatile nature of most traded items depict it to be uncertain with time.
Just so you know, we have people that also find gambling to be very complex not until they familiarize themselves to the world of gambling.

As of the belief that trading is as good as gambling, well let's just say it's somewhat correct because you can't always win when it comes to trading, but you can improve your winning chances by practicing to help formulate a strategy that will help the trader to improve the chances of winning and probably profitable!

My question is, isn't trading almost like gambling considering it uncertainty and also looking from the fact that he has lost a fortune out of trading within a short space of time?
First and foremost, losing is part of trading but this can be countered with a good risk management that will still leave you profitable with the few wins you have...and also the risk to reward matters alot because if you get anything below 1X you can't survive in the long term...Which is why you need to go into demo trading to learn your strategy, perfect your strategy and most importantly protect your capital.

Is it possible for him to easily recover his money back or is losses like that very much a part of the trading experience?
Without a proven strategy that works his doomed!!

And by the way, when it comes to trading risk management and emotions need to be managed well otherwise greed will take the best of you and you will lose money faster than you thought.

297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing poker online better than offline? on: March 30, 2024, 08:16:06 AM

This is not a one shoe fits all situation as everyone that plays poker has their own preference. And besides choosing between playing physically around people versus playing online can depend on how well your social skills are around people, if you feel nervous if you get around a real table and all kinds of phobias... otherwise I prefer to play online as it allows everyone to play in their own comfortable space, newbie's can play too with the aid of a chat on how to play or play in their hands and other players won't even know what's happening .

All in all, every player needs to experience both setups to avoid bias feedback, otherwise poker is enjoyed if played in person.

299  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 29, 2024, 06:59:19 PM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?
If we are going to say raising a family burdens you financially, then gambling shouldn't even be something to consider as a responsible parent/guardian... because if the tight budget you working with you blow your account, this means twice the hustle to replace what's lost and you don't want this..and if you constantly  worrying about losing then gambling isn't for you as bad and good days do exist.

But in an instance were you have some free resources available..and just because one has to raise kids doesn't mean you can't spend a few bucks on yourself... besides a healthy mind needs to rest & energize to have the strength for tomorrow.. otherwise stick to your limits and you should be okay.
300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to kucoin? on: March 29, 2024, 03:14:50 PM
Am pretty sure Kucoin being in the business for such a long time know how to deal with such issues and it won't be the last either!
It's just unfortunate that it's its own users that spread all this FUD to try cause some panic in the markets that could cause the dumping of coins which is nothing to celebrate about.. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if these are hired guns trying to siphone it's users to themselves especially that they are among the big exchanges we have atm .

Otherwise, bad news affecting an entity such as Kucoin actually trickles down to everyone having an interest in cryptocurrencies and we shouldn't celebrate this hurdle.. Just hope this ends with a fine and we move on.
