301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? on: October 23, 2023, 08:36:56 PM
If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? If not, how many bitcoins holding is equal to being rich in your opinion ?
Nope. It will always depend on the person on what is rich for them. For me, owning 1 bitcoin wouldn't make you rich. People who are in a middle class of a first world country can buy 1 bitcoin if they want to, which also in other countries like third world country but it will take much time for them to buy 1 bitcoin if they really want to. Just imagine 1 bitcoin is equal to a brand new car, having a brand new car doesn't make you rich right? Maybe having hundreds of bitcoin will make you rich if we consider my analogy.
As far as I know walang known celebrity ang know na gumagamit nitong forum since I joined this forum. Even outside sa local natin is wala pang nakikilala or nag pakilala as celebrity. Crypto social media influencers locally siguro meron pero lowkey lang siguro sila since wala din akong kakilala. I also doubt na iintroduce nila sarili nila dito as celebrity given na wala naman silang outstanding growth na makukuha dito sa forum at more on information ang makukuha nila. Di rin sila mag aaksaya ng oras dito if pera habol nila sa forum logically speaking since mas malaki yung kinikita nila sa job nila unless hobby nila dito sa forum. We never know.
303  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges essential for mass adoption? on: October 23, 2023, 07:20:42 PM
You're right! But one thing is sure, in the future blockchain technology & Cryptocurrency will win over the government. It's just a matter of time. Government simply want where they can exact control on citizen's finance like they do to fiats from the central banks. All we need is, more legitimate & trustworthy blockchain services providers at different levels - Exchange and otherwise, and enlightened Crypto users who will help make the work easier for these Exchanges to survive.
the government will never have full control over bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, it will only be temporary control.
Bitcoin remains decentralized and will never change. If the government takes full control then that's the end of decentralization and bitcoin technology is no longer useful. Bitcoin's goal is to escape the grasp of governments and third parties who want complete control. The blockchain will still be uncontrollable and everything will be permanently recorded on the blockchain, the government hates that.
The thing is governments can easily ban cryptocurrency on their country. We have saw countries that don't support cryptocurrency of course with the front of how risky and volatile the market are. Though in the back of their minds, they don't want it because they can't control the blockchain. There are also countries who don't ban cryptocurrency but they are strongly particular on somehow controlling the masses by introducing platforms to them that is centralized and they have some sort of control. Taxes is one of the biggest reason why I see countries support cryptocurrency but still want it to be centralized.
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 23, 2023, 06:56:16 PM
There are even streamers who switched from their usual games to casino games real quick. I've saw so many streamers on other streaming platforms such as facebook that these streamers are playing casino games where there primary audience are teens or I believe some of them are minors. I'm pretty sure that those kind of streamers are paid by the casino and I don't have a problem with that, my problem is on the streamer side. Imagine that your fanbase are teens and some of it are minors and suddenly you promoted or play on a casino where you are hyping your viewers on how easy you can make money online. For sure teens who has a strong curiosity will try it even if the streamers say that you need to be on a legal age before you try it.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Real Estate: Is it worth it? on: October 23, 2023, 06:38:35 PM
I've seen digital property being sold for thousands of dollars (USD) in Decentraland. I'm yet to understand why digital real estate is appalling to mainstream investors. Owning a virtual property is not the same as owning a real one. It's just like NFTs (through the form of digital art, items, etc.). It may be all hype that will eventually fade away into oblivion. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Do you think digital real estate has a future? Is it worth it? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

Maybe one day the government will decide that NFT's constitute a valid contract of ownership. And at that point in time the people holding NFT's are going to become richer than they ever imagined - I suppose the average NTF fan thinks somewhat along this line.

Personally, I do not see the need for NFT's to prove ownership or authenticity. But as far as the question of authenticity goes, what happens when people start making scam NFTs or misleading people with a different, look-alike blockchain. What if your wallet gets hacked? Do you still consider someone the owner of an NFT the rightful owner if its been stolen and sent to someone else?
Before the government approves the NFT on a contract of ownership, like on a physical land title. They will surely consider the risk on it. If they found out that it proves much more risk than the traditional proof of ownership that we have like pen and paper or databases, the probably won't try it especially that the migration and the procedure of it is not that easy since there's a lot of information that is needed to inputted and publicized.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 22, 2023, 07:09:10 PM
Let's settle this! Based on your experience which game is more likely to bring a big win - slots, table games or crypto games?

On one hand, I know slots bring in large X's, but it is quite rare and you have to be really lucky. On the other hand, I saw people get massive multipliers on crypto games like Crash after a couple of minutes of playing. So which is it?
From my experience, the games that offer the highest returns especially slots with multipliers of 5000x or more, tend to be the ones where it's challenging to get any winnings. Simpler games like dice or crash may not give us high returns but they also minimize potential losses and are less addictive compared to slots in my opinion.

Personally, I like to play slots more even with the risk because they are more enjoyable and entertaining, especially when you see people achieve maximum wins as you said so I decide to try my luck. However in general, there's no big difference in all forms of gambling and it's not about the type of games you choose but rather how you understand and approach gambling. The key is to enjoy it and not focus on making profits or trying to chase your losses, as this can lead to worse problems or addiction.
I agree with this. Though in reality, it really depends on the game that you like. I personally like cryptogames since that is where I can earn most, I don't earn much just the same level when I play on table games like blackjack and poker but I like how simple and entertaining the games are. There are people who are highly skilled that they can win on table games most of the time that they are playing. I'm spending more time on cryptogames more than others, maybe I spent so much time there because I don't lose much often there.
307  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Which bull run experience is the best for you? on: October 22, 2023, 06:44:06 PM
2017 talaga yung pinaka solid na year for me. Sobrang saya nung mga panahon na yun since dun ko unang nalasap yung sarap ng bull run at ng bounty campaigns dito sa forum. Almost majority ng bounty campaigns na nasalihan ko is pumapaldo talaga. Marami din akong nakilala sa larangan ng crypto before and after that bull market. Solid din naman yung 2021 bull market pero iba talaga yung saya ng 2017. Andami kong firsts na nagawa sa buhay ko, first million, life first experiences and first lessons na I think nag build up saakin para maging ako ngayon. I experienced so many mistakes that time and also bull market 2021 pero I'm sure na hindi ko na ulit gagawin yung mga mali na yun next bull market. I'm claiming to earn 8 digits next bull market! Tamang motivate lang sa sarili!
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 22, 2023, 04:35:02 PM
therefore I have never invested in NFT, because I am sure that NFT have a very big risk that I could lose my money and I am also sure that the price of NFT will not be able to increase again even if the next bullrun occurs, so I have never been interested and suggested to my friends or my family to invest in NFT even though the price of NFT was going down, because it was too risky to invest in NFT.

Justin bieber has been also scammed by this piece of shit.

Quote
Justin Bieber’s Bored Ape NFT was valued at $1.3 million in 2022—now it’s only worth around $60,000
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/07/07/justin-biebers-bored-ape-nft-has-lost-95-percent-of-its-value-since-2022.html

Look at that how shitty NFT is right now. Even justin bieber was loosing millions of money in less than a year. NFT is pure massive scam. People are so dumb in using NFT as their personal investment which was the stupidest thing i have ever seen in my life.
Justin NFT is now only worth 60k USD. Justing is a rich guy abd that amount was nothing. Im guessing that if almost all of APE nft holdes are suffering the same case like what justing did.

This guy spend millions of money for nothing than get a garbage money NFT which will worth nothing in the future. NFT is pure garbage shit. The end of NFT is going even closer since there are many scam NFTs exist in the market.
There's a lot of celebrities that are affected by the downfall of NFT arts that they had bought. I guess it is the way that the project convince people to buy their NFT because celebrities have it, so this is your chance to have the same ones that the celebrities had. But yeah, it's the downfall and those who bought those NFT's including celebrities are losing money day by day because it is depreciating consistently. The one who really gained from it are the flippers/hypers and the project owners (royalties). It's sad but I think those celebrities will just preserve their NFT and hope someone buy their NFT at the price that they want.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An Existing Pre-Sale that you can recommend Is There a Token That Is Available? on: October 22, 2023, 04:15:02 PM
Hello Bitcointalk, Dear Members, do you know a pre-sale token with solid connections that you can recommend? I'm Thinking About Making an Investment
I would recommend you to don't ask for recommendation here or anywhere about a pre sale token investment. People will just recommend shtty investment or some straight up scam. It's best to do your own research in finding those crowd funding or presale token, though I don't really recommend investing on those since they have a bad history. It would be better to just buy bitcoin or good altcoins that already exist in the market. I believe that it would be the best route for newbies like you.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In the best interest of investors, Bounties shouldn't be paid in Tokens on: October 22, 2023, 03:35:16 PM
well i dont mind paid in any currency either native token or stable one, as long they dont cut the rates when native token rise up and they decided to pay with stable one
lol, best interest for them not for sake the rules already accepted in the first sign
Bounty managers don't usually change their rates unless you are payed on a dollar value of their native token. In short, the number of token would be lesser if the token value rises. Though it can't be guaranteed since not all bounty campaign are handled by reputable campaign managers, some campaigns are handled by the project team members that can change the rules if they want since most of those bounty project rules states that they can change their rules at any given time.

But yeah, it's rare to see a forum member who don't mind to be paid in a native token, most of us here want to have a stable coin or some other altcoin that has a value as a reward.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: October 22, 2023, 03:15:35 PM
Just in case, what amount will be looking like a nice hit for you to leave a casino just immediately for maybe your first, second or third hit on the machine as you have just walked in?
A few consecutive winnings even if it's just a small amount can satisfy me, and I decide to immediately stop gambling. So, my winnings will not be taken back by the house. I don't let my emotions get over me, knowing my priorities helps me to set a limit in gambling. As I know that even a small winning in a day, by doing this method regularly, that small winning will be profitable in the long run.

I have the same thought. It is more lighter to leave a casino with a win even if the winnings is not that big. It is just depending on the mindset that you have. A profit is always a profit and you are not a loser since you gain from the casino no matter how small or large the amount is. If I noticed that I got a consecutive greens without hitting a red, I personally will give up playing and just take home the winnings. Even if I just started because I can somehow get the sense of victory after profiting even for a short period of time, my mind would be screaming easy money in that kind of scenario.
312  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a formula for Bitcoin starters? on: October 21, 2023, 07:12:05 PM
Starting Bitcoin investment with little capital will be very challenging mostly if that happens to be the major survival option of the investor. And in cases where the investor plans on using the proceed to solve their needs they might end up selling when the price have dropped just to settle the pressing need of that time.

As experienced investors are there measures that can be imbibed by new investors with little capital to help boast their capital. Some will want to mention patience which I will agree to but in situations where the money is needed to meet an emergency need how to you tackle such situations. Your formula might be a saving approach.
If your money is used for your survival, don't think about investing first. Most of the time you will sell those investment when the time that you need the money and probably you will be on a loss. Increase your income first before investing even if it's not bitcoin. Use an allocated investment money that you will not use to other things, just dedicated to investing.

If you have the money to invest, accumulate some knowledge about bitcoin and you are the one who will decide if you will invest or not. The common knowledge is enough, no need to learn the technical side of it.

Just remember to not invest the money that is not allocated in investing, you will just end up losing or will not maximize the possible profit.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: October 21, 2023, 06:38:01 PM
There are many top altcoins which I won’t consider anymore. The reason is simple due to the low and irregular price. I would like to mention about Shiba Inu. I don’t know if it qualifies for the list of top altcoins or not. But yes it’s price is quite unpredictable, and if we see on a regular basis then it’s going down and down. I don’t want to incur losses, hence selling the Shiba or not buying it will be the wisest decision. This is just my own choice and decision is based on my own analysis.

The top altcoins are the most inefficient investment of your money as they do not outperform bitcoin investments by much, even at times yielding inferior returns. If altcoins can't beat bitcoin in terms of investment appeal, then why carry your money into these altcoins. SHIB has long been in that category of coins that went high and is now slowly dying. SHIB is a memcoin, and investing in memcoins is always attracted by probable high returns. It makes no sense to expect high returns from a token that has already managed to grow by a million percent.
I agree with that. The possible profit we can get from the altcoins who experienced a massive pumps in price has a lower chance of us getting the profits we desire. If we want massive profits, the hidden gems in the market are the one we should target and buy. The risk is high since it's hard to predict if those coins will really go high up but the possible profit we can get is massive whenever they sky rocketed. I highly agree with the example you showed, SHIB is one of those, it skyrocketed so high that the market will have a hard time pumping it on to that same level again or at make you a millionaire just like those who bought that coin on the time that it hasn't been noticed by the public.
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: October 21, 2023, 06:07:57 PM
That's the reason why I don't link my credit card to my online casino, or I don't use my credit card to gamble because I know it will be a bad idea, and I will continue to use my credit card as I start it, so I keep away from gambling. Let's say it's my limitation; I only use the money that I allocate for gambling and have the discipline to not use other money. I value my money not to be lost, so as long as I can, I will never ever use my credit card for my hobby, which is gambling. Using my credit card for gambling is like having a debt that will take a toll on me and could get me into a tight situation, which I avoid as long as I can. Rather, I fuel my gambling from my other sidelines which I have invested.

What about using your credit card to pay for other hobbies you may have or you could have in the future?
Let us say you get into video games, movies or riding bicycles, etc. Would you still keep your credit card at bay or would not mind to get into a little bit of debt for it?
Because we can see the use of credit as only to be intended to pay for esencial things, but since those hobbies which I mentioned could be less likely to devolve into an spiral of money spending, some would may feel more comfortable spending on them than gambling.
I am on the side of only using the credit card to fuel esencial purchases and use debit for hobbies, not matter better they have anything to do with gambling or not.
We have a different hobbies and some of those hobbies are money generating hobbies which some of us can consider as investment, hobby is the secondary purpose. Depending on how financial literate you are, you can use your credit card to for good. As long as you know that you will not be in debt by using it or for short you are responsible in using your credit card, there's no harm in it. Having control on what or where to spend it is essential in having those. I believe that having a credit card is a huge responsibility since it can be a burden to you if you use it in a wrong way. My conclusion is credit card shouldn't be used on gambling, since just by using it there means you are not responsible.
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 21, 2023, 05:39:57 PM
They can afford betting on a higher stake given that they are rich and probably won't hurt them even if they lost the bet. There might be another reason like doing promotions on the casino that they are playing and it might be a sponsored bet by the casino, we won't really know. There are many high rollers out there but some of them just don't really show it off publicly. They can go on a higher level so I don't see any problem with that. I understand that influential people are sharing it on public because maybe they want to include it on their figure just like how drake are doing it.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 21, 2023, 04:57:52 PM

If you take a look at the history behind cockfighting, you will realize it is a very ancient practice in many places where those animals were available for the folk population to raise and breed.
I do not know much about Bangladesh, but I would not be surprised if it was very widespread in the past and now has continued to be practiced in villages in that country, because the traditional weight it has.
Here in my country, we may not have as much history with that tradition, and yet we still partake in it, being Bangladesh a country of the old world with longer history and access to cocks.

In the end, all of this goes back onto the tradition versus progress argument. Whether tradition is such of a an important thing, so it is necessary to make animals to fight themselves in a savage way.

The cock fighting was the very old way of the gambling by our previous generation, the ancient people use the animals for the gambling. The history says that, the gambler will play the cock fight and breed the winning cock to the next generation.Actually they will kill the beaten cock and eat as their food. This was the strongest belief by the cock fighting in most of the cock fighting origin countries.Actually in your country Bangladesh, the gambler will do the cock fighting. The cock fighting was still available at the Pakistan,India,Vietnam and some of the Asian countries. This country people had huge wish on this game.
It is somehow similar in my own country which is Philippines. I have some experience in cockfighting and entering the cockfighting arena since my father and grand father used to participate in this cockfighting events as a breeder and has fighting cock. The strongest cock is the one the is bred to produce a potentially stronger cock. If there's a cockfight, the winning gambler will take home the losing cock which is probably dead and cook it to be eaten or serve in a drinking party after a winning game. That is based on my experience but today, I haven't entered the cockfighting arena for a long time and I don't know if it is still being done by cockfighting gamblers. Maybe they are still doing it since it's a tradition that is still being passed.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 20, 2023, 11:52:18 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

Imho, what's even more important than setting a reasonable budget is your attitude towards gambling. If you treat it seriously, as a job, you are far more likely to fail. Treating gambling as a hobby, just for fun, helps a lot.
It depends on how much you seriously you are taking it. There are people who are very cautious when they are doing gambling, we can somehow calling it extreme risk management where every move they do is calculated and the gambler knows the risk of it, we can find those people in high level poker tables. But yeah, treating gambling as a hobby makes it fun and enjoyable to play without much thinking about what result to get after a gambling session, though I think that the winning chance is not that high as you are trying to spice up things and I'm assuming that you are willing to take risk more than what you can really do to achieve a sudden adrenaline rush.
318  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: October 20, 2023, 11:21:58 PM
True, kakacheck ko lang ng marketprices at sobrang baba na talaga. Imagine yung terminator team before parang isang motor na tapos ngayon parang jolibee meal nalang haha. If maging trend ulit yung NFT games is for sure tataas ang axie given na isa sila sa still developing till now at may future potential coin like RON na pwede gamitin sa platform ng skymavis.

No idea lang sa magaandang axie since nag papalit palit yung meta.

Ang problema lang is I think pwedeng ma abuse yung ganitong way of distributing SLP if wala silang strict rules or mechanics about it. I'll try to check it out later kung pano to gumagana since nasa axie origins yung photo na nainclude mo at matagal tagal na din since nung last update ko ng origins sa PC ko.
319  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 20, 2023, 11:02:07 PM
Parehas ay may kanya kanyang risk involved. It also depends kung ano yung experience mo both fields kasi yun yung important thing about it. Both are good depende kung ano ang view mo sakanilang dalawa since parehas naman sila may risk. Though for me mas pipiliin ko yung crypto kasi siguro mas mahaba yung experience ko sa cryptocurrency compared to having a business. Umaasa ako this time sa crypto cycle which is I think nasa middle na tayo ng cycle. Nag promise kasi ako sa sarili ko na mag cocommit ako na gagawin ko best ko this cycle.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play equal to deposited funds before you can withdraw on: October 19, 2023, 07:58:38 PM
I find it's bullshit if they ask for their user to wager 10x or 50x ot whatever from their deposited amount but 1x is pretty sensible and if someone didn't want to bet then they shouldn't be deposited in the first place.

The actual reason for the wagering requirement to exist is to avoid money launderers and if there is no such requirements in place then they can deposit millions and bet a few hundred then withdraw everything as whitewashed then the casino will have to face legal issues and charges and if that can be avoided with one rule then it doesn't sound like bullshit to me.
Yep, wagering the deposited amount is sensible because of money laundering issue though there are people who are in change of heart and not to do bets anymore after realizing the deposited the amount. There's should be another options for gamblers and should not be stuck in force wagering just because they want to withdraw their money. One thing I'm thinking is limiting the wager amount depending on the amount of deposit, having amount brackets on how much times should they wager or if they don't need to wager because the amount is too small. One other thing is to just have a stricter KYC option like having a recorded video call why they withdraw the money without spending and asking for reason. I think we all need options on situations like this.
