302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DASH] What happened to Masternode Blinding? on: December 07, 2015, 10:41:23 PM
I did some searching on DashTalk and I found out what happened to Masternode Blinding. Whatever the case, anything longer than Instant Mixing is unacceptable.

Quote
DAPI will also include a vastly improved version of masternode blinding. All requests through the system can be blinded, so that they are redirected through the system to a masternode that doesn’t have any direct contact with the end user. This is the reason we will not be building masternode-blinding into the v12 client.

250th birthday of HM The King (216th anniversary)

We smelted 1*kilobar to make the chains and the 250 CKG bracelet both for The Marquess of WC and for HH Saddam of Ramsey with 300 CKG left over. This was very elaborately minted and carved to 12 gold coins weighing 25 CKG each (one CKG per decade of life so far, and the flat disc, reminescent of the later Austrian coin, depicting more than one occasion of the King's life). Half were raffled between all the PC, rich and poor alike (with the lucky recipients being HE Forte Spagnolo, Sir Hokusai, the old witch Leila, Councillor Syksy and rather unknown onk and anarchyx), and the other half is sold in a charity Dutch auction with the proceeds given to the Town with the hopes that both devfund and the poor would get their fair share. (The 16 CKG HM coin from 1520 (the last time) is going for 40-100 million so hopefully this one will be appreciated by the market as well.)

My word, HH Saddam of Ramsey is most honored by this 250 CKG bracelet. I have been wearing it around the castle and it is quite heavy, but most impressive.

I dispatched a servant to deliver 1000 SHI for HM's 250th birthday, may he live to the 500th birthday and beyond!

New users should do their own research and come to their own conclusions.

I believe there is a POLO TIP that says something like this.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 07, 2015, 01:28:11 PM
Every altcoin is down against BTC. To me, that indicates the tides are turning, and soon that money will flow back into altcoins. Has that not been the case in every BTC reversal?
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: December 06, 2015, 02:32:35 PM
To my knowledge (and you can verify this in their post history), smooth was involved with Monero at least 1 month or more before rpietila even started buying it.

Therefore, smooth is nobody's biatch.

First license sold to Sir Zechariah, The Prince Royal, for 320 million

As a rich guy, Zechariah knows how difficult reasonably risk-free income is. Even though the land, building and license will total 650 mil or more, the expected profitability is too good to let go. BEER if anything is always in demand, game expansion will make price pressured upwards rather than downwards, and the existing license holders are first in the line if new opportunities present themselves.

Happy grab here, who is next? Smiley

Saddam bought the next license for 330mil, can't pass up on that BEER opportunity!

I was going to build the brewery in my haw at 1-NE, but I hear that the smell is bad and this is discouraged for such a prestigious neighborhood. Is that correct?

Nevermind, my hashrate just exploded! Maybe I wasn't fully synced earlier.

hashrate: 77.1579

310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: December 05, 2015, 01:16:26 AM
hashrate: 0.1579
hashrate: 0.3158

is that normal?

mining monero on the same machine i'd be getting like 30-40 H/s

Did you try the pruning branch? If you are that close, the savings from pruning should be more than enough make it work.

Is it on your github? I didn't see any links to it on the front page, so I just went with the main source.

Thanks smooth.

I had 4G of swap already, but I'm trying again now with 6G! Let's go!

Trying to sync the 0.9.6 aeond for the first time, the daemon keeps getting killed for some reason...any ideas?

Then I start it up again and I have to start syncing the blockchain from 0.

I'm also running bitmonerod on this machine, so maybe its too much for it to handle at the same time?

Code:
2015-Dec-03 23:40:32.289786 [P2P2]CHECKPOINT PASSED FOR HEIGHT 540000 <94e19cf9d5a16ae90f67c321f8376b87da21d6d6c2cb0957b9ab558dca66c1dc>
Killed

edit: After starting over, the daemon gets killed at the same point, just after the checkpoint for 540000.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 04, 2015, 12:30:49 AM
Hey guys, how much AEON do you suggest holding?

Like with Monero it is suggested to have 0.1%...what do you think?
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: December 03, 2015, 08:10:54 PM
Awesome work Syksy!

Please enjoy my gift of 500 CAN for your efforts.

I was thinking of doing something similar with CKG but using the d3 visualization library (http://d3js.org/). When CK becomes more active it will be fun to have something real-time to look at.

@ceti
Interesting and i agree with your perspective on this.
I might enjoy seeing some of them drown like rats.
But i do want to be a bit apprehensive in jumping to conclusions.
Being a hater can be a delicate thing sometimes LOL

Like could some cop or FBI agent etc be using Dave's forum account ? Maybe ? who knows !

The people who do have more info are tight lipped and screaming FUD /Troll on this latest Monero news.
I stumble on to a bit of info and they demand i post all the facts..
Sorry smooth, smoothie, Risto, generalizethis etc etc.. i don't have the answers YOU guys do !

I get neg feedback because i posted part of a story ?
Well then give me the whole story LOL

..give YOUR INVESTORS the whole story Wink

EDIT: correction.

I'm a Monero 'investor' and I don't require the whole story. What David discloses is his business. This is an open source project, not a secret cabal as some portray. It continues on regardless of the individuals that participate in it.

Anyone can step up and make contributions, even you Spoetnik, if you wanted to.

Trying to sync the newest bitmonerod on a new VPS, it keeps crashing after this point:

Code:
2015-Dec-01 00:26:43.936098 [P2P9]LMDB Mapsize increased.  Old: 1024MiB, New: 2048MiB

Is there anything I can do to get past this?

Join IRC please. I'd like to get to the bottom of this, as I've seen it reported before.

Thanks again for your help, but I'm going to have to look for a new VPS, since I've been suspended for causing high load. No idea what the problem was, as I've run a node successfully on Digital Ocean on a VPS with the same specs.

Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for a non-US VPS provider that accepts bitcoin?

edit: any by crashing i mean the entire server crashes, I have to reboot the VPS and then delete the db and start syncing from scratch again.

How frustrating! I had a brutal health challenge, and got it down to insignificant. But didn't manange to get it to none.  Angry
Spend ~123 XMR in the process. What a waste of money.

Here's what I consumed:

AYA   1
CLXII   1
CVS   1
COH   2
SW3   2
CAV   3
LAG   4
CXO   5
VOD   5
MUS   10
RME   10
W1602   10
W1603A   11
W1609   20
BEER   21
MEAD   40
CIG   45
FOIE   52
GIN   70
VEG   70
MEAT   75
CAN   142

fun fact: google docs made CAN green Smiley

You did make a valiant effort. I am no expert at the health situation but I think that drinking more wine would be just as effective and less expensive than all the luxury/rare items that you consumed. My approach was to stick with the staples (MEAT, VEG, WINE), then save the luxury consumption for the last few items of your quota if you still need a boost. 52 FOIE is quite decadent, hats off to you.  Shocked

Smooth, did your characters drink any WINE?
