481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Direction is NNE (north northeast) - MOON TIME on: July 27, 2015, 12:25:44 AM
I expect whatever is brewing right now to play out something like Summer 2012. No ATH moon on this run, but a definite retrace of where we stopped on the way down, this time on the way back up to $1000 and above.

Let's take a look at the halcyon days of 2012 for reference. Price started to go parabolic in August 2012 but was squashed at ~$14, I recall the reasoning at the time was something related to the Pirate@40 scandal. In retrospect, I think it was just increasing adoption and over exuberance.

Based on this I predict this local rally will top somewhere between $600-800 by the end of this year, followed some months of stability before the next run and the next HALVING!

History repeats itself!

developing or filling out the empty sections on the getmonero page.

I wanted to contribute some but then I started to do it and it's not easy to preview your own work before submitting a pull request. I think I need to get Jekyll and build the site but I'm already trying to learn about 10 other things right now so I put it off...lol
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: noobish linux rpi bitcoind question on: July 20, 2015, 02:32:36 PM
Figured it out

Code:
bitcoin-cli -datadir=/path/to/.bitcoin getinfo
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / noobish linux rpi bitcoind question on: July 20, 2015, 02:22:52 PM
I finally set up my full node on a Raspberry Pi 2. I'm using an external HD to store the /.bitcoin datadir.

Before when I just ran bitcoind on the SD card, I could do bitcoin-cli getinfo and it would work.

Now when I try to run that command, it seems to be looking in my ~/.bitcoin directory and not finding anything, so it doesn't work. I checked my IP on bitnodes and I confirmed that my node is running.

How do I getinfo when I'm using an external HD?
485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats is the fastest way to open a wallet.dat ?? - Noobie Question :/ on: July 20, 2015, 12:40:40 PM
You could open up a blockchain.info wallet and import the wallet.dat there, nice and quick.

PS. Lamentably the cessation of charging the daily overdue interest of the T_MON balances has lead to leniency in repaying them. The interest will be reinstated tomorrow at 0.8% per real-day, the same rate as before. If 21 days pass with a character still having a negative balance, it is assumed that s/he is absent, on holiday, or lost interest ( Sad ), in which case the accumulation of further interest is stopped by automatically selling the character's assets starting from gold balances, to get the monereto balance to zero. The Marquess of Ramsey (saddambitcoin) is the treasurer and accepts deposits.

Please help me to spread the word concerning all these issues!

Hear ye!

There are some of you with negative balances, don't let it add up!
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: July 20, 2015, 01:37:32 AM
Ok.
But anyway, some day i would like to see a source code. Wink

Sure, how much are you looking to pay for it? Or did you think MyMonero appeared out of thin air and for no cost?

+1

We certainly welcome public domain wallet software to appear, but MyMonero is not such.

It is pretty generous what you do already (Mymonero), since anyone with the knowhow can take your wallet javascript and make their own Monero wallet site.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] The Monero BEAR thread. on: July 18, 2015, 02:14:55 AM
2. Massive amount of Bloat that makes the Blockchain unsustainable for local users to hold, mining and the platform is centralized among Mymonero.

You could say the same about BTC, majority of users aren't running a full node storing the close to 40GB bitcoin blockchain, but some care enough to do it. Same with Monero.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: July 18, 2015, 02:09:15 AM
I see all this talk about legends, but all I see here are heroes.

I'm seeing all the forum spam and FUD as an indication of upward price movement in the near term. The volume on Poloniex has been quite low, and the trolls are likely trying to suppress an inevitable surge. I predict their efforts will backfire.

That very well could be, don't forget there was a guy in the trollbox last week that sold 20 BTC worth at 0.002. He claimed to have 80k XMR where that came from.

He said that he was selling because he could buy it lower. I didn't believe him at the time but here we are.

Ok, I can understand banner ads to pay for the server costs.

What is annoying is getting a popup every time you click on any part of the page.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: July 16, 2015, 02:58:11 AM
Can't wait to play!

FYI. For anyone interested that has never joined the game, my offer of 10 free CKG is still valid for the next 6 players to join the game. That's a current value of 5 XMR.

Just PM me if you want to join.

I would like to join but I thought the game was paused right now for further development?

Most everything is paused (land buying & building, etc) except for trading CKG (gold) and XMR deposits.

Even so, there hasn't been much gold selling going on which caused HM The King to raise his buy price.

You can see the character database here in the CHAR tab.

Just let me know your character's name & starting age and I'll add you. Then you'll be ready to play immediately when the V.4 is ready.

Hey, whats with the spam popup windows that come up when I click on anything in Polonibox lately?

Is this advertising or something wrong with the site?

496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interested in joining pump group/team on: July 14, 2015, 12:56:27 PM
After losing a lot on litecoin I would like to make my money back somehow, and apparently these pump and dump groups actually work
Is there any I can join?

If you didn't sell your LTC you didn't lose anything - yet. Don't sell for a loss just to chase the next "pump".

Just sit tight and wait for the next rise. During a BTC rally (for example 2013), LTC/BTC was stable between 0.024-0.032 for many months.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long until Obama says "bitcoin" publicly? on: July 13, 2015, 02:57:52 PM
He already did ask if he "should be worried about it" awhile back.

498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Early adopter or Johnny come lately? on: July 12, 2015, 07:59:12 PM
Sorry, I didn't mean to say it was a scam.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Early adopter or Johnny come lately? on: July 12, 2015, 05:10:11 PM
Well, if we are truly entering a new bull market for crypto, I guess it doesn't hurt to sign up to receive free things that could be worth more later on. Irrational or not, the coins get pumped.

For example, when Ripple first launched I remember getting 50,000+ free XRP in a giveaway. I sold it right away, but if I just forgot about it, that's about $500 dollars today.

So, I will take a look at Gems even though it looks like a scam.  Cheesy

What is .05%?  Roll Eyes

~4234 XMR at current emission or something like 9300 XMR at total emission
