301  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: December 07, 2023, 09:51:36 PM
I use stoploss but don't use take profit many times, I use stoploss to cut losses short.
when I was new to trading I was also not taking stoploss seriously because of this I doesn't able to cut my losses short and while watching the trade going against me, my mind isn't able to cut the trade after knowing that i is a losing trade. it become very hard to control emotions, and when I place stoploss first it helps me to cut my losses short and to keep a 1 percentage loss per trade. and helps me to not trade emotionally.
Perhaps, the use of stop loss is for us not to lose our big as it is automatically completed when reaches the set price. This usually happens during the bear season but if we are very active in trading and have enough time in trading, I don't think it is needed for us to use this one. For my entire trading career, I have used this a few times and it is because I don't place a trade if the market condition is on the downside, I used to analyze the market first before trading.
302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading advice for newbies on: December 07, 2023, 04:06:53 AM
New users within the crypto space should understand that crypto trading is different from gambling where a mere prediction can yield result. As a newbie within the crypto space kindly check the following before you go into trading.

1. Learn about the volatile market
2. Learn how to analyze chart
3. Take your time to practice demo trading before going into real trading.
4. Do not be greedy, take profit when it’s best to do that, do not hope to get the whole world at a time.

And the challenge now is for them to manage their time, and emotions, and adopt the system. Indeed, it takes time to gain knowledge and ideas which is why as a trader must extend patience to learn otherwise, it is useless to try doing this.

In addition to this; they don't be afraid of making mistakes and losing money because this is the reason why we grow and improve our knowledge and skills. No risk, no gain --so we have to work hard and push ourselves.
303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: December 04, 2023, 01:54:24 PM
Sometimes we think that some things will stop us from winning big, but sometimes also stop us from losing big.
In your case, it was your friend is the reason for not winning big and it was normal to feel disappointed. But what if it is a losing bet? I am certain that you will be thankful to your friend that he never paid back the borrowed money as it will be gone already.

I'd say that luck usually comes when we are not expecting it to happen. It comes when we are not prepared and sometimes we can blame ourselves for not betting a huge amount.
304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: December 04, 2023, 01:08:54 PM
Bitcoin is the best and least risky crypto in this industry but you need to understand that everyone is not looking for a safe investment asset. I think many people were amazed by the ROI made by bitcoin for the early investors who bought it when it was super cheap. Now many new people think they can find a new project that can give them a similar ROI or at least a fraction of it within a few years. I think this led them to invest in projects outside of bitcoin even though they have a high level of risk.
Hypes projects are an example that makes many investors search for other projects that will turn into hypes. Honestly, what happened to meme coins brought something different, especially for the newcomers. They will think that investing in crypto is an easy game and instant rich until the time has come that they will know the truth behind those huge earnings and ROI. And that is also the time they will find out that Bitcoin is far better than these hype projects. Not just because of its use case but also, because of its profit potential in the long term.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 04, 2023, 12:29:29 PM

Yes advertising on gambling sites such as various article publicists, influencing or signature campaigns can be a type of job and can be considered a full time job but gambling is not considered a job. So it is not right to consider or accept it as full time or part time job.  Meanwhile should be taken only as fun. Otherwise gambling addiction can lead to death for you. Gambling does not guarantee profit to anyone so choosing gambling as a job is a big mistake. So you should always keep this in mind
When I started gambling I made good amount of money for a few days. Then I thought of taking up gambling as a career. Later when I realized that there is no guarantee of winning in gambling, I now take up gambling as a hobby.  There are many rules to follow when gambling, such as never getting excited while gambling. Whenever you start gambling with excitement, it won't take long to lose money.
And hobby will sometimes turn into an addiction. Well, I hope it won't happen to you, mate.
Well, it was clear to us that some become successful in gambling and some are not. For many reasons, too hard to think about considering gambling as our full-time job but of course, we can consider this as a way of pleasing ourselves from stress.

I'm not sure how the other works on their life and become a successful gambler because even asking them and following what they have said, we can't assure that we can be successful as well. And probably it is because they were destined to such profession while most of us do not.

306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: December 04, 2023, 10:56:09 AM

This is why we should not make gambling a place to make a living, lest you have the assumption that winning is easy to achieve or even by including the word consistent in it, it's like you will trap yourself in many new problems or mean creating your own problems for yourself. I hope you or anyone else does not misunderstand what is meant by the odds in gambling, because that one point usually makes gamblers seem to lose their minds and always chase something that basically does not have any certainty and guarantee.

If you have the fund, knowledge and skill to manage a casino then you can make gambling a place to make a living, as casino owner, or casino employee, or casino streamer.  But as a player, I think we can find it hard to consistently win and make profit in gambling.

Well really if they want to make a steady income in gambling then obviously if you just become a gambler then obviously it is too impossible because you will just depend all the final results on your luck which will not come every time. As you suggested, it's better to build your own casino and you play the role of a casino owner who has full power in your own casino.

That is why we always say that the real winnings are only for the house and not for the gambler, but the house has a very good way and algorithm by dividing a little winnings to increase someone's addiction so that they continue to play and the rest of the casino will take your money back. But the problem is that not many people can think there, they think that it is too complicated and also other things in terms of finance where they feel that with not too much money it will not be possible for them to build their own casino, there is some truth in that but on the other hand try to calculate all the money you have lost to gambling, I suspect that the results of the calculations you calculate can actually build a casino. Cheesy
Indeed, it is a business and of course, the house doesn't let gamblers win more than their profit. If we lose, it doesn't mean that the house is cheating on us but instead, we accept the fact that this is how gambling looks like were only get lucky and win the prize while more gambler lose their money. That is why if we think that gambling is a good way of making money, then we have not to do that because that is impossible. Only the house and casino owners make money while gamblers (us) only get fun and experience.
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos after the shutdowns of mixers on: December 04, 2023, 05:15:55 AM
I think the ban on mixers will not primarily affect casinos. In the first place they are regulated and before now many of them hold on to KYC requirements in their terms and conditions, so it is still as before to check for illicit transfers and money laundering. So it is still generally as business as usual, I don't think anything has changed.

Casinos will remain as they are compliant with the law, unlike Mixers which are not regulated and it can be easily use for money laundering. With casinos, everything needs to be black and while, if you are a user, you transact big money, you need to comply with the casino not only with your information but also their documents too, in addition, your IP address will be link so casinos will know your location as using VPN to hide it could somehow compromise your account.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk predicts X will replace banks in 2024 - The Verge on: December 03, 2023, 09:54:29 PM
Well nothing is impossible if the mind is there and the most important thing that make things easy to come to pass is the finance. If the finance is there then Elon Musk will convert the X to a financial institution to help humanity in the world like Bitcoin. If Elon Musk wants to convert the twitter to a digital currency to liberate people from poverty and removing the fiat banking system and replace it the X project and it works well then it is a good one.

But I don't think can be possible because for America to leave their dollar to use another currency will be hard.
He could have that imagination but never I think it comes to reality unless he is the government. Indeed, the government doesn't support it nor do people have confidence that  Elon Musk could change the currency system, it was just a proposal and the chance is very small in winning the support of the community. What EM did was just get the attention that he is a genius. Even if he has the money but without support from the government, that is still impossible to happen. Many businessmen are certainly against that idea and we know how politics works.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at its ATH of 2023 so far on: December 03, 2023, 09:36:51 PM
https://www.livemint.com/market/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-surges-2-87-to-its-highest-level-this-year-11701429005470.html

Bitcoin has surged for 2.87% today and reached the highest level in 2023. Does this year has more surprises for us and we can break all time high of bitcoin ?
Pumps are really the thing we gonna expect during December just like it happened before but we couldn't be confident enough that we're going straight to bullish or ATH as we are still too far from that. As halving gets closer, demand rises together with the price. The price of Bitcoin is currently $39,600 and probably it surpass $40k any of these days. With the current situation of the market, we are being too positive that this year the price of Bitcoin will stay above $40k.
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Keeping Numbers Or You Allow The Machine To Pick Your Numbers To Bet on: December 03, 2023, 01:34:18 PM
This is a lottery, most gamblers here have numbers that they are maintaining until they'll hit the jackpot. Personally, I'm not fun on consistently betting on a lottery as I believe in saying that it's just like flushing money on the toilet. But sometimes if I bet on lottery, I would not let the machine choose the combination for me as that would defeat the purpose, we can't be too lazy to bet so we can attract luck.

I think if I'll win a lottery, I'd stop betting lottery again as I have not seen a person that has won a lottery twice, so there's no reason wasting my money. Maybe I'll go big on other type of games, like sports betting, since lottery winning is millions, I'm sure I'll be able to set up a decent bankroll and that way I could continue enjoying what I love to do, which is gambling.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 03, 2023, 12:06:56 PM
LA Tenorio is back, he played tonight starting in the 2nd half of the game, and it seems like nothing's changed as he made 2 straight 3 point shots already. This is amazing for the Gin King, Tenorio is a good example of the "never say die" attitude of Ginebra family, I'm happy for him.

I'm watching live online now, but unfortunately I have to endure this delayed telecast as they have been actively putting down illegal streams, lots of interruption if I'd choose to watch on their streams, so no choice.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 03, 2023, 11:30:39 AM
Users who had understood well about cryptocurrency will not blame altcoins or take any other second view. The responsibility is to focus on the market and achieve the best out of it. Not everyone is able to be successful out of cryptocurrency. People who hadn't succeeded investing into altcoins will blame it. This isn't fair, because there are people who had made themselves millionaire through altcoins. There are altcoins that provides with high rate of interest, it is our knowledge that finds it among the crowd.
They should blame themselves instead of blaming the entire market. Besides, the results of their doings are what they have ripped off and it was losses from investing shitcoins. Yes, if we know how to choose coins for investment, I don't think there is someone who will fall into big losses and regrets but unfortunately, many we're still blind and have no knowledge of how this works which leads them to invest in worthless projects. I can feel their sentiment but they have accepted the fact that every mistake will make us lose our money instantly.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we got new CEO of Binance on: December 02, 2023, 09:55:11 PM
The new CEO Richard Teng says Binance will now act different then when CZ was in charge. This means there will be a board of directors, physical address, and financial transparency.
These are all things that Binance never did have with CZ as the CEO. He says there is a 'robust timeline' in place for it to happen.
https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/2023-11-27-richard-teng-transitioning-binance-into-a-conventional-financial-company-with-increased-regulation-and-transparency-612563312369

I guess that's what would be good for all the users. It don't mean CZ and the leadership were harming its users but more transparency and regulation are always favorable to the users on the long term. Even though we might have to trade of some perks and probably a higher fees as their operation cost and taxes increases. It may seem counterintuitive at first but it may prevent any large mishandling of Binance like the one done in FTX, where people lost huge amount of money trying to save a fraction of the fees.
And aside from that Binance did this to give way for the investigation where CZ can focus on the case. Of course, we all can't forget all the good things and exchange improvements during his time but still, we are not sure about the transparency he did and this is what the issue has been called. It is a good decision for the Binance team and the transition is needed knowing that CZ can no longer hold and work on his position as the issue continues. And with the experience of the new CEO (Richard Teng), we believe and expect something new with Binance and can protect its reputation.
314  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 02, 2023, 09:42:41 PM
I have heard a rich person saying that if we want our kids to have a better future, we have to educate them on how to grow money, not how to save money. It simply means that we teach them to do good business, not how to spend money like there is no tomorrow. Because at the moment they will know how to make money, earning and saving a lot of it is not hard and impossible. But if they only know how to spend and live a luxurious life, these kids will become poor when they are alone.
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 02, 2023, 02:04:19 PM
Moreover, I like to know if you really believe you can win in sports betting in the long run, or you just really think no chance because every game can be win by luck, sports betting is not exemption.
Sports betting doesn't require you to sit at a laptop screen or hold an Android cellphone every second, minute and hour, we only place bets on teams or people who we believe can win, for example: boxing, football, basketball, tennis and so on.

Sports betting once the bet is placed, we just wait for the match/game to finish playing, to find out which team won, slots, poker, blackjack are not the case, you have to sit down press the button and play, some of us are bored of doing that, that's why sports betting is so popular, it's simple and easy.

For me, sports betting often wins compared to other types of games, apart from being easy, sports also has a big opportunity to make a lot of money. The point is that sports betting is different from other bets.

That's the beauty of sports betting as after you place your bet, you can do whatever work you would plan to do and just come back to check the result of the game. Maybe if you have free time, you can also watch the game you'd place your bet with, but the point is, sports betting is not a demanding type of game unlike other types of game where you really need to be actively playing to do the job.

Probably that's the reasone why lots of people fall in love with it, and since it's not playing against the house, that's one thing that made it so interesting as it could test our skills in sports betting on the sports that we are familiar with.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 02, 2023, 01:33:48 PM
They already made a mistake for having Westbrook since they don't have chemistry with their team so its good if Lakers would focus to create good chemistry and confidence with their current roster.

That was the biggest decision that didn't went out well, they were suppose to make a big 3 but one has became a burden, good thing they let him go after 2 season I believe, so both teams in LA are happy now. The lakers are still revolving without Lebron, and old superstar that will continue to make history, but in terms of ranking as a championship team, that I don't know if they are even at the top 3 now.

With the present status of the Lakers, I don't expect them to even reach the same success last season, but I still have some hope since the playoffs is a different atmosphere, and you know, experience gives good advantage and Lebron and AD had that.
317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: December 02, 2023, 11:09:51 AM
I am consistently reassessing and reevaluating my investment strategy as the halving could have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins. The halving could also lead to a surge in interest in altcoins. As such, I am on the lookout for alternative investment opportunities. And, of course, dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is a consistent investment I make. That's my plan, at least. What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
I already reached the maximum limit of investment capital, I have nothing to do for now but just wait for the bull season.
For those who have not yet filled their limits, this is the time to do it now. Though we can expect some corrections before halving but for me, we don't need to wait for it before deciding to buy instead, make a decision now rather than losing the chance. The market price is still way far for the ATH which is why buying at the current will still give us a profit when selling them at its peak price.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 01, 2023, 09:48:55 PM
It depends on when I can avail them but if I invest, I'd do it before the halving happens. Just as bitcoin does, most of the altcoins are also going to move anyway after Bitcoin's reaction after the halving. If you have a better choice and you're able to buy at the same season then that's much better.
Everyone is expecting bullish after halving and we believe that the best time to accumulate coins is before the said event. Several times we have been given the chance, yet many people still ignore it. If we still miss this chance before halving, I don't think we still dare to invest when the price of altcoins is already xxx high than today, of course, we don't. Therefore, we should have to invest wisely and think about the future bullish rather than thinking about the possible dumps that will happen before halving. Because as long as we hold them, nothing will be lost on our side.
319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: December 01, 2023, 09:33:30 PM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
It is just to note that some of us have some limitations as well. I don't say that trading is for rich people only but it was just for those who were capable enough to spend and lose their money. It is important to understand that trading is not for everyone, why force ourselves into something that we are fit for it? For poor people, the only way to get in and start trading is to have some savings as well before we start at least we have some backup money. It is not impossible on their part as long as they will find a way but not in the way of taking loans.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 01, 2023, 05:05:22 AM
We bet on the Lakers though? They make a good comeback win against a low team in Pistons. But at least they will have to get this W to bring back their confidence. D'Lo broke for 35 points and almost got a double double with 9 assists.

We haven't seen D'Lo scored big points for awhile now, he stick with his average production which is 17PPG, so it's quite surprising as he is no longer a good contributor for the team. Maybe he would get his confidence back, scoring at least 20 points per game would already be a big help for the Lakers to improve this season. As we all know, it's always AD and Lebron who's been carrying this team, so they could be tired also, time for players like him to step up to lessen the burden of the two.
Lakers will play tomorrow against the Thunder and it looks like this will be an interesting match because the two teams, if we look at their performance, are almost equal.
But previously, in the last two matches, Thunder experienced different defeats from the Lakers, who in the last two matches still had yesterday victory when they met the Pistons and their defeat when they met the 76ers and this was defeat by very large difference.

There is still hope for the Lakers to win the game against the Thunder tomorrow and we will see if D'Lo is able to have more points and make big contribution to the Lakers.

On paper it was interesting but the result isn't.

Thunder just demolished the Lakers with a 133-110 win, Lakers is good defensively but it was the Thunders offense that cannot be stop. Although they are a young team but it's very evident how good their chemistry is, so it's not suprising that they beat the LA with the huge margin.

I hope you ddin't pull the trigger on that game, I mean betting on the Lakers is a mistake.
