3001  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdrew BTC from Binance - Almost 4 days later it hasn't arrived on: December 30, 2017, 10:59:21 PM
Yes the 1ADxxx is another exchange address. I have checked many times and I don't see that transaction in the history on the exchange I sent the BTC too. I have full access to that account and everything is working fine, I sent more BTC to that 1AD address and it worked fine. I have sent a support ticket to the exchange I sent the BTC to.

This problem lies in their side and since you have already sent a support ticket to them, what you can only do now is to wait for their response.
Did you reference your TXID and your transaction history? as it can greatly help for them to solve your issue as soon as possible.

I am definitely not an expert at this but I thought I saw that BTC being transferred from 1ADxxx to another address as well. Any ideas of what my have happened and if it might be possible to recover this lost BTC?

It's a normal practice for most exchanges and it's most likely for security reasons or for organizing addresses/funds. There's nothing to worry about as long as the exchange is reputable.
3002  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info 17% fee? on: December 30, 2017, 10:29:25 PM
I haven't bought bitcoins in blockchain.info as it is not available in my country although to get to get the most accurate percent rate of your transaction, you should have get the buying and selling price when you made your order not in the price you paid and it's current price now since bitcoin is highly volatile so the price you have seen a few hours ago may not be the same now. Looking at the charts, it's constantly falling, probably because of the price correction

$13,236.00 USD (-9.46%)

Look at your order history, blockchain.info promised that you will get an amount of .00912182BTC so for obvious reasons, you got an exact amount of bitcoins in your wallet

I paid £103 to buy bitcoins on Blockchain.info

and that translates to only £85.8 in my wallet? (see below)

3003  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to 'clean' my bitcoin? on: December 30, 2017, 08:25:38 PM
Just like other members mentioned, you should use proper bitcoin mixing service with great reputation. But, i also suggest you to use exchange (or instant exchange) to swap your bitcoin with anonymous cryptocurrency (such as Monero) and then sell the anonymous cryptocurrency for bitcoin at other exchange Roll Eyes

Instant exchanges save all data, which isn't really the case with mixers since they destroy all data after a certain period of time. Whether or not they really delete all user information is subject to a different discussion, but that at least is the intention. Another thing is that when you sell your Monero at whatever other exchange, you again leave data behind, which isn't something you want to happen in case you strive for the highest possible form of 'anonymity'. On top of that, with all the regulations going on, I don't think these 'instant' exchanges will allow people to exchange one crypto for the other without verification endlessly -- at some point it's going to stop.

To add on, It'll be more expensive if you use such alternative because of multiple deposit/withdrawal (miner fee) and trading fee's, furthermore the bitcoin network is still congested up until now so every on chain transaction requires a high miner fee (compared than usual).

Meanwhile if use an actual mixing service, you will only need to pay for the miner fee of a single deposit and withdrawal as well as the mixing fee.

In chipmixer's case, you can withdraw through private keys so you can just import it into another wallet to avoid another miner fee.

3004  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.info: How to sign a message from previously used addresses on: December 30, 2017, 05:53:45 PM
Signing a messsage is only available for imported addresses, If the address is a part of your HD wallet, then that feature won't be available. Quoting it with the link you provided:

This feature is currently only available for your Imported Addresses

But there are still ways to sign a message Wink

1. Using some third party tools:

If the particular address is a part of your blockchain.info HD wallet, follow these steps, otherwise ignore it.

(You must have your Recovery phrase/Seed before proceeding)

First, You must get it's private key

Download this and run it offline: https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39. Paste your seed there and you will see your address/es and its corresponding private keys at the "Derived Addresses" section. To toggle between accounts, Change the number on the "account" field where 0 is your default account, it means your 2nd account will be "1" and the 3rd will be "2" and so on.. (Use Ctrl+F to easily find the address you want)

Lastly, Download this and run it offline: https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/offline-bitcoin-signer. Paste the private key, enter your message and hit "Sign"

P.S. I tested this and verified the signature through coinig

2. Importing it in another wallet and signing a message there. I recommend electrum for that

Using your seed/backup phrase:

Tutorial: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed

*When electrum prompts you to enter your seed, Click options and tick the BIP39 Seed Box

*Please note that when importing, your funds will be accessible on both wallets which is why it's highly advisable to transfer them in a new wallet (with different seed/PK's) once the network has stabilized to avoid high fees.

Here's a tutorial to sign a message in electrum: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/guides/how-to-sign-a-message-with-electrum

You can also import just one address using its private key. Use the iancoleman bip39 tool for deriving your PK's as mentioned above

3005  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: problem in send money from blockchain wallet on: December 30, 2017, 11:53:18 AM
i have problem in sending money from my blockchain wallet from many days i see this error

BitcoindException(super=com.neemre.btcdcli4j.core.BitcoindException: Error #-26: 66: mempool min fee not met, code=-26)

and do not now why , i send ticket to support but not reply my .

This is a problem in their side so they're the only ones who can fix it. You've done your part now that you've sent a support ticket regarding this problem.
I'm sure they are already aware of this considering that you're not the only one whose currently experiencing this: (but I'm not sure if they're fixing this or what  Roll Eyes )

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2561281.msg26350106#msg26350106

For now, If you want to access your funds, you can import it in another wallet using your recovery phrase/seed. You can find a tutorial in the links stated above^

i have one transaaction in my account message beside it : may be at risk for a double spend
but i do not know this problem in sending money becouse this transaction or not

Can you post the TXID's here?
3006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin disappeared from my adress on: December 30, 2017, 11:05:34 AM
Thanks for Your reply
It was hacking attack on the website, where I bought bitcoin - I figure it out a few minutes ago.
Web site where I bought was running for 4 years without problem.
I knew that I paid extra fee for bitcoin, as I said I bought it only for curiosity in order to find out how it all works ....
Thanks all for their reply
Have a nice day

What kind of hacking attack? Attack on their system where lots of btc's are stolen or just from your account only? but since your private keys are stored in your email, your funds have a 99% chance of getting stolen.

Before anything else you should verify their credibility first.
Can we know the name of this site? If it were really running for 4 years without a problem, it should have some kind of reputation here.
(For safety reasons, Post the link like this: poloniex[dot]com)
3007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin disappeared from my adress on: December 30, 2017, 08:00:42 AM
If you see an unauthorized transaction then yes, your wallet has been compromised and unfortunately, bitcoin transactions are irreversible and pseudonymous so getting your bitcoins back is pretty much impossible.

But what intrigues me is where did you buy these coins? If I understood correctly, You bought bitcoins from X and X gave you the address and private key funded with those coins through email which is highly dangerous as it can easily be hacked. If it is, You are most probably been scammed by X.
3008  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Have i been scammed using Shapeshift.io on: December 30, 2017, 04:48:38 AM
Thanks for the helpful reply it has kind of put my mind at ease too some what degree! and i will copy you in on my support ticket here
https://shapeshift.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/134114?page=1

A must read announcement from shapeshft since you submitted a support ticket: https://www.reddit.com/r/shapeshiftio/comments/7layhk/a_note_about_the_current_state_of_the_ticket

If and when Shapeshift ever do refund my Btc will i see large transaction fees? because it's been passed around from address to address? I've read some horror stories where people have put say £200 down in exchange and only been refunded £100 back because of the miner/transaction fees all because of a failure on there end?

Yes the miner fee would be expensive since the bitcoin network is still congested although it has stabilized a little. In shapeshift case they are using a fixed rate regardless of the transaction size. Here's the current rate:

Bitcoin Miner Fee: 0.002 BTC

I'm not sure if they have increased the fee higher than what is stated above but as you can see it's just .002BTC now so if you get a refund, only .002 will be deducted.
*Note that miner fees doesn't go to shapeshift!!!

And looking at your order ID, It's not entirely their fault because:

First, you chose "Precise" which has a time limit for deposits but you only included a fee of 61 sats/byte which is fairly low and as a result it got stucked for 3 days, and obviously your session expired. You'll see in the upper right: "Time Remaining Expired!"

Larger deposits wait for at least 1 confirmation
3009  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Error in blockchain.info on: December 30, 2017, 12:21:12 AM
Im not 100% sure but i think the amount you want to send creates tx with a high fee because of the congested network causing the fee to be higher than the amount to send or a fee so high that the amount to send is lower than the fee. I could be wrong though.
no i need to send $300 and i see fees $17

If you're not even spending an amount greater than what you have but you're still seeing the error sign then please refer on my previous post as this is most likely a problem in blockchain.info's end so for obvious reasons, they're the only ones who can fix it.

3010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: import BTC balance to another app`s wallet . on: December 29, 2017, 10:16:52 PM
I think bitpay and copay is pretty much identical since I imported my bitpay wallet to electrum a month ago. If my guess is right both uses BIP39 for their seed.

You can try importing it to electrum using your seed. Below is a tutorial for that.

Tutorial: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed

*When electrum prompts you to enter your seed, Click options and tick the BIP39 Seed Box
3011  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My Account Balance in Poloniex Is EMPTY ? PLS Help on: December 29, 2017, 09:57:44 PM
So meaning to say, there's nothing on your withdrawal history that states that your coins were withdrawn in an unknown address? If so, you should contact their support to clarify your situation. Please make it as detailed as possible and it should also be followed by proofs e.g. screenshots since waiting for their response is slow enough but if your support ticket lack essential details then it will be slower than that.

But If you see in your withdrawal history that your coins were withdrawn in an unknown address, unfortunately most cryptocoins are irreversible and pseudonymous so its nearly impossible to get them back.
3012  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blcokchain.info playing up, no visible input boxes for "from" and "to" on: December 29, 2017, 08:13:00 PM
They are currently under heavy load of inquiries so you should expect a longer waiting time.
If I were to exchange BTC for ETH and if the exchange were to be conducted 'in-house' within Blockchain.info portal - they use Shapeshift - would this exchange go slowly due to btc current processing issues and would it be expensive to exchange?

I'm not sure but there are a lot of people complaining about them recently so If I were you, I wouldn't use them now.

Yes it'll be expensive compared to normal because of the network congestion, I think your deposit has to confirm in the nearest block as much as possible because I've seen a lot of users whoose transaction (deposit) got stucked for days and it's either "trade failed" or stuck to "exchange in progress"if it ever confirms after those days. As for withdrawal fees they released a list of it, since exchanging in blockchain.info is powered by shapeshift, I think these also applies to them Huh https://info.shapeshift.io/about
3013  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: redeeming btg from btc held on blockchain.info on: December 29, 2017, 12:19:48 PM
Ok so here's the original transaction in blockchain where I received 1.85 btc to the address 1EtuLFnTQt9sEWpQYnPUFVJrocEEbSbVWb. This is the "used address" that I mentioned in OP that I tried to enter the private key for in Coinomi and was told it's empty:

This address (1EtuLFnTQt9sEWpQYnPUFVJrocEEbSbVWb) really has no btg's and that is because if you look at its transactions, all funds were withdrawn at block 478736 and that means that it doesn't have any bitcoins stored at the time when the snapshot took place (Block 491406). If I'm not wrong since its a fork of bitcoin, the transaction history in it should still be identical until the snapshot.

It shows that I sent the btc out in two transactions. The 1.75 btc send is accounted for in my blockchain.info history, the other send for just over .1 btcs, is not. Furthermore this .1btc is accounted for, it's currently sitting in the blockchain.info address that I'm trying to get the btg for. This is the "current address" I mentioned in OP. I received 1.85 btcs, sent out 1.75, and should have .1 left over at that address. This certainly appears to be the case according to blockchain.info. However the btgexplorer seems to be suggesting I sent the .1 btcs out to a different address.

The address (17qrzjzzwZHa822cAbe1TL7B4zzKki5D9u) where the .1BTC resides must be a change address. I checked it with block explorers and it has a balance of 0.10120542 BTG, And its equivalent address is this: GQgnQsKwvQtsCVKu6YJ7t6T4zAnAoyzQJg.

Is this still from your HD wallet in blockchain.info? If so you can again use the tool and follow what HCP says to check your change addresses private keys.
3014  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lending platform ... what wallet do they use? on: December 29, 2017, 08:39:46 AM
Most services claim that majority of their funds are stored in a cold storage but we can't really verify if it's true. When you deposited your money on these third party services,
you are trusting them with your funds so in short it's all about "trusting" that what they claim is true. Meaning to say, its impossible to know what kind of wallet they are using unless you've seen them for yourself but they can just claim whatever they want.

And every address has a corresponding private key, it's just that some services don't give their users an access to these.
3015  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: where is my BCH on: December 29, 2017, 08:19:54 AM
From my understanding, You kept your bitcoins in blockchain.info until november? or you transferred bitcoins into blockchain.info this november?

Because only bitcoin holders who had bitcoins at the time of the fork (block 478558 - August 1st, 2017 about 13:16 UTC) will be credited.

Have you already tried checking the address/es in any BCH block explorers? If not, Try pasting it from the links below:

3016  Economy / Exchanges / Re: exchange withdraw fees on: December 29, 2017, 04:10:02 AM
From what I know, Despite the price increase polo still holds the cheapest bitcoin withdrawal fee (miner fee), The second one would be hitbtc which is 85K sats and then the average would be .001BTC but please note that most of them changes their withdrawal fee depending on the current network condition, for example if the network is congested then the fee will obviously increase.

And most exchanges will allow you to trade <500k sats and if by any chance they don't, there will be a caution sign so you'll be fine as long as you pay attention on your surroundings.
3017  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Sent bitcoin to bitcoin cash wallet and havent received it on: December 29, 2017, 02:41:09 AM
No i think the addresses are different, but similar. I read somewhere that bitcoin and bitcoin cash are basically the same so i figured it would either go through or get cancelled. Anyways whats done is done i guess ill contact support..if i had to pay a fee to get it back id gladly do that its about $1000 so i want this back.

BCH is different from BTC as they are in different chains although both of them can use the same addresses as well as private keys which is why technically, you can still get your btc's back if you sent them to a BCH address or vice versa as long as you hold an access on the private keys of the address where you mistakenly sent the coins. In your case it'll be a little different as coinbase is the only one who have an access to their user's private keys so the decision is up to them if they are willing to retrieve those coins back for you.

That is why people should stop using third party wallet's like coinbase   Sad
3018  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Sent bitcoin to bitcoin cash wallet and havent received it on: December 28, 2017, 10:56:19 PM
I think you have a very slim chance of getting it back  Undecided

What happens if I send Bitcoin Cash to a Bitcoin address?

At this time, Coinbase has already credited accounts who received any BCH at their existing BTC addresses. Going forward, we cannot guarantee that funds will be properly credited when one asset is sent to the address of a different asset. Please make sure that you only send funds to the specific deposit address displayed in your Coinbase account for the asset you are sending.

There was also another user who had a similar problem such as yours. Unfortunately, coinbase didn't retrieve it back for him.

Reference:

transferred bitcoin from bittrex to coinbase  (bch wallet)   accidentally coppied the wrong address/wallet
i spoke with them and they said lost , 15,000  gone
what a blow to the heart

Then again, to get things clear, you should still contact their support like what the above users have mentioned.
3019  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: locating private keys on: December 28, 2017, 09:23:17 PM
Is mnemonic same thing as seed?

Yes

Where on the dashboard do we find the private keys for a blockchain.info acc?

There is no feature like that in blockchain.info's dashboard. For you to access your private keys, you have to use a third party tool like this one: https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39 (Download it and run it offline)

How about for Exodus?

Enable the Developer Menu (Ctrl+Shift+D) after that Go to Exodus --> Developer --> Assests --> Btc --> Export private Keys
3020  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: exmo vs wex on: December 28, 2017, 10:12:22 AM
thanks

but in my country buying from big exchangers is  limited

If you don't mind, Can you tell us from which country do you reside?

Have you already tried checking this site: https://localbitcoins.com because most countries are there. Just make sure that the individual you're trading to is "trusted", check his feedbacks, confirmed trades etc.
