3081  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do people spend their bitcoins mostly? on: December 29, 2013, 11:47:57 PM
gambling and illegal drugs.
3082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do when the Bitcoin ecosystem SHRINKS? on: December 29, 2013, 11:03:02 PM
as we know, bitcoin is growing at the moment, albeit slowly.

but nothing lasts forever, so just like myspace and facebook, one day people will abandon bitcoin to go to another system e.g. fiat money.

what will you do then?

slowly? how many users did coinbase have at the start of the year, and how much does it have today? it's not growing slowly.. it's just that your expectations are a bit unreasonable.
3083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't listen to Paul Krugman, or anyone that says the Internet is a Bubble on: December 29, 2013, 07:01:35 AM
yeah, uh, this guy is a crackpot. seems like he's a troll who goes under the guise of an economist.. seems like anything he says is to draw a reaction from people.
3084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Predict the Date: When will Amazon accept Bitcoin ? on: December 29, 2013, 06:59:20 AM
i agree with that too, but then again i/we could be wrong. jeff bezos is a libertarian after all. but it would need to make sense for them to do it as a company first.
3085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: National Australia Bank Calls Bitcoin a Bubble on: December 29, 2013, 06:49:00 AM
what nabs they are. well, at least i agree with them that bitcoin is nowhere near ready to replace fiat.
3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: localbitcoins vs exchange on: December 29, 2013, 06:41:14 AM
localbitcoins is a peer to peer exchange; no 3rd party that holds the coins, though there is escrow and there is a 3rd party to ensure that transactions follow through. but it's not localbitcoin that is selling the coins to you.
3087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beauty of bitcoin on: December 29, 2013, 05:08:30 AM
Yes and A LOT of people aren't actually panic selling out of BTC. They're selling some BTC temporarily on bad news into fiat, hoping they're going to be able to buy back in cheaper and end up with even more BTC. This is one reason you see quite big downturns, (where people call the end of bitcoin), yet almost full recoveries within just a day or two.

Who's calling it "the end of bitcoins"? Presumably people that haven't seen downturns that happen every 3 months, only to be followed by a huge rally.

there are a lot of "run for the hills" people on this forum. there were plenty of threads claiming BTC's death. yeah, like china alone could do that.
3088  Other / Off-topic / Re: When Bitcoin reach $200,000 I want to get one of this. on: December 29, 2013, 05:06:16 AM
i was never really into cars.. and the thing is, it only loses value the longer you keep it. i just naturally don't have a taste for the finer things. i'd buy a tesla if i were filthy rich, so that's not very likely (20+ million).
3089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't listen to Paul Krugman, or anyone that says the Internet is a Bubble on: December 29, 2013, 04:55:30 AM
he seems to be the kim kardashian of economists. he is a provocateur who says things just to get people riled up.
3090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't listen to Paul Krugman, or anyone that says the Internet is a Bubble on: December 29, 2013, 03:42:42 AM
i just hate krugman because he is a shill and a troll. not sure if i'd call myself a libertarian too.
3091  Other / Off-topic / Re: find replies to my post??? on: December 29, 2013, 02:49:01 AM
i thought the "new replies to your posts" were just threads where someone has made a comment, not necessarily to your post.
3092  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shameless (US version) returns in about 2 weeks on: December 29, 2013, 02:18:59 AM
have you tried Agents of SHIELD, or Green Arrow Smiley) those are kind of action heroic series that are very interesting

i have given up on primetime network tv. it's all bad. i haven't watched any of those dramas since house went off air. the storylins are way too formulaic and it's just the same rehashed shit.

tried watching the UK version but i don't understand half of WTF they are saying.

Haha. How much of this can you understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx3Zdl_V3zo

i saw that last night before making this post and i coulnd't understand any of it.. can you actually comnprehend wtf he's saying? why is it so hard to understand your english?

seems like the UK frank rambles by himself more than anything else.. US version of frank interacts with more people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD_zKs55bNs

Northern eloquence. UK Frank has his enlightening philosophical moments too, especially when he's sober Frank.

btw, you would like american frank. he lets sheila anally probe him, which was what ultimately helped him smuggle the cocaine through mexican borders (in his roomy butthole).
3093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't listen to Paul Krugman, or anyone that says the Internet is a Bubble on: December 29, 2013, 12:56:47 AM
conservatives hate him, independents hate him.. he's like a left wing extremist, and that's not really a big base to work with.
3094  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoins ruined my life on: December 29, 2013, 12:53:24 AM
the underlying point is that the problem is hardly ever your conditions, but how you perceive them. if you lose a leg, you could consider that event ruining your life.. or you could just learn how to live with it, as people have do.
3095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will *not* attack/destroy/fight/etc central banking and fiat currency on: December 29, 2013, 12:49:25 AM
No one is expecting it to topple governments or replace the almighty dollar.

You know how when you're travelling, you can use a VISA anywhere in the world?

Same difference, just better.

a lot of people are.. and they are probably deluded.
3096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin really need to *Replace* Fiat? on: December 29, 2013, 12:35:50 AM
fiat is fucked up, but i think those who believe BTC will supplant fiat are reaching a bit far.
3097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Economics Nobel laureate Paul Krugman: "Bitcoin is evil." *link* on: December 29, 2013, 12:34:56 AM
obama getting the nobel prize was a joke to me. wtf did he really do that was so special? paul krugman is nothing more than a left wing schill.
3098  Other / Off-topic / Re: When Bitcoin reach $200,000 I want to get one of this. on: December 29, 2013, 12:34:20 AM
when or if bitcoin reaches 200,000, i don't think i'd spend it on much.. i don't really want much of anything.
3099  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoins ruined my life on: December 28, 2013, 08:28:33 AM
This thread makes me think the value of Litecoin will go up based on the premise people will feel they "Missed the Boat".

I believe we have yet to set sail, so jump on board and quit whining about the price.  Any Bitcoin you secure today will be worth much more in ten years if Bitcoin succeeds at existing that long.

that's just a psychological game, and i think that's the reason why litecoin has made such huge gains on BTC.

I remember a time when LTC was the junk coin. Few mined it. Everyone hated it. Now you see people mentioning BTC and LTC together.

it was just in may/june, im certain, that the price for 1 LTC was 6 cents.. pegged against $120 per btc, or something like that. it's made huge gains.
