2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal could benefit greatly from providing a wallet service on: May 18, 2014, 06:05:29 PM
even if paypal offered the best wallet service, i still wouldn't use them. no way i'm helping a multi-billion dollar company grow bigger and gain more influence so that normal people like myself will get fucked over.
2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brock Pierce implies Bitcoin Foundation resigned unintelligent. on: May 18, 2014, 06:03:41 PM
I still find it really hard to believe Brock Pierce placed high enough in the election.
Hasn't this community been pierced enough already?

KnC Miner bought a $100k platinum member spot which presumably comes with a large amount of votes in the election. Plus his own Gold company.

ha, this sounds no different to me than politics. you can "buy" votes, as in money = speech. what i don't quite understand yet, is how does he turn this into $$$ and influence going into his pockets?

You're right, Bitcoin has become a political tool just like fiat. Everyone that always wanted Bitcoin to replace fiat should be pleased. I think he has little chance of getting business support from core members of this community but he may not even want that. If he could develop and promote (with the help of TBF) a product to reach as yet untapped users then he would profit. Circle fits the bill of a product that will bring Bitcoin to the masses. No one here would ever use Circle. Joe Citizen already gives all his financial info including SSN to banks, PayPal, Amazon, car dealerships, mortgage companies, pretty much anybody that asks for it so why not Circle? They could end up making a tidy sum of money from the average dumbass and so can the pedo.

well, this is why i'm not as bullish on bitcoin as most other people seem to be. a lot of the "to the moon" people think that bitcoin will solve a lot of the major problems in the world and eventually become a world currency. i think it's going to solve minor problems (like providing a hedge to hyperinflationary currencies and remittance payments), but the underlying root cause of most of our major problems is greed.. and bitcoin isn't going to remove that from the minds of the big players in the game.
2143  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Swiss turn down world's highest minimum wage on: May 18, 2014, 06:01:32 PM
damn, $25 would wreck their economy. that's a bit too socialist for me, though i do think minimum wage should be higher than $7.25.

This minimum wage thing is actually very much dependent on where u r. In India, i know people, who does not earn 25 USD per week after working 8 hours per day.

well duh? i'm talking about developed countries, not developing ones.
2144  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 18, 2014, 05:56:00 PM
Has anyone actually been paid?
I'm still waiting

I doubt you'll be getting paid. Where is your sign-up post?
I must have forgotten to make the post, but it has been in my sig right when I made 50 posts because that was the min requirement
I did not know I had to do this :/

It's all in the op. How can anyone tell or verify how many posts you made? When did you actually sign up? You've barely made 50 posts since January, so regardless you haven't lost much.

m8, you are pretty hardcore.. 10k posts in nuts. i was ahead of you but fell off for 3 months. i'm just hoping you break your fingers for 3 months or so, so i can catch up.

If my fingers broke I would type with my nose or maybe set up a Stephen Hawking-type system  Cheesy. Where did you disappear for three months to?

i was doing hardcore meditation at some of the centers around the country. i was also burned out for, you know, making 1600 posts in december.

well then, i hope you go to jail for fucking goats. isn't that what brits do?
2145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did ebay and paypal screw you over for using BTC {Class Action} on: May 18, 2014, 05:52:30 PM
i think the only way to flip them the bird is just to stop using the services, at least as much as possible. if you rely on them to make money, then do it.. people need to earn a living. but try to avoid using them whenever possible, and respectfully tell other people how fucked up they are.

otherwise, you can't do shit to goliath when you are just a david.

By legitimizing himself in his quest to buy Gox for a dollar. I guess he expects his position to add credibility to Sunlot.

That's the plan as I see it anyway.

but he had to have known that if he were elected, people would be up in arms about it.. over his sordid past. and the thing is, sociopaths boyfucking scammers are usually pretty smart.
2147  Other / Meta / Re: Removing legacy scammer tags on: May 18, 2014, 05:47:01 PM
Finally, i don't have to see that scary dank anymore Roll Eyes the guy is a pirate ? scammer?

nope, he's already stated that he is god. and you can too!

maybe this is a call for personal responsibility? if a guy with negative trust makes an offer to you, it's your job to looking him and make sure that he/she is not a scammer.

my issue with snowden is.. he's not living in russia. as bad as the U.S. is, i'd think russia is an even worse place to live (in terms of individual rights and the government speaking for the people).

he's sitting on all of this valuable information.. russia could easily extort or force it out of him. i don't think he intended to land in russia.
2150  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best comedy movies? on: May 18, 2014, 05:41:43 PM
i think the big lebowski is one of my favorite movies ever, comedy or not. i also remember watching dumb and dumber at least 10 times when i was a kid. can't wait for dumber and dumber to.

2152  Other / Off-topic / Re: FACEBOOK IS DEAD on: May 18, 2014, 05:32:22 PM
The only reason (or at least the main reason) why facebook is retaining people is that because most likely their friends are using it and it is a convenient way to know what they are up two and to communicate with them, and this is the sole reason why I'm still using it tbh, I just check it from time to time that's all for me

yeah, the thing is, once you have so many people locked into your ecosystem, people will become less likely to give up your service. i don't know what it's called, but a lot of sites let you log into your account via your facebook info.. because facebook accounts are almost as ubiquitous as e-mail accounts.
2153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did ebay and paypal screw you over for using BTC {Class Action} on: May 18, 2014, 05:31:29 PM
there are already tons of people who hate ebay/paypal.. if you google up "paypal complaint" you'll see tons of them. nothing will likely happen.

this is why i try to avoid using paypal as much as i often can.
2154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brock Pierce implies Bitcoin Foundation resigned unintelligent. on: May 18, 2014, 05:26:51 PM
not sure if anyone realises it but Beaugas is taking a page out of trendon shavers book

trendon: pirate (a word for a old boat sailor known for stealing)
Beaugas = bogus (a word meaning fake/lie)

I think "Beaugas" is more like "Beau" for the guy's name, Beauregard ("Beautiful look" in French), and "gas" because he is, according to himself an "Anesthesiologist, Epic Anesthesia Physician Builder".

So, while I appreciate your reading between the lines, my 2 second detective work yielded different results.

isn't mr. beauregard the name of a dog for southern people (or something to that effect?). i do declare.

Of course I use it. The funniest videos I ever watched was on facebook. It also help me find awesome videos on youtube that I never knew about. I use facebook for laughs. On the business side of things, I use it to build brand awareness.

reddit is way, way better for that. what makes hte top is crowdsourced, so if people like it then it will reach the frontpages.. on facebook, i get annoyed when people preach.. so i usually turn off feeds (of people who are excessive).
2157  Other / Off-topic / Re: FACEBOOK IS DEAD on: May 18, 2014, 04:18:00 AM
facebook is not dead, it's just not "new" anymore.. they've monetized their business.. plus they've bought a few other companies already.

Have any of you watched "Penny Dreadful" that newer series that came out a short time ago?

Hannibal is still a pretty good series that I have gotten into...

egh, you guys talk about this show so much, i might try and watch it.. but it's probably not my kind of show.
2160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet Another Brock Pierce Thread on: May 17, 2014, 03:59:10 AM

...
First of all, the events portrayed have nothing to do with "Pedophilia," which is a sexual attraction to prepubescent minors.  They are about sex between adults and individuals in their mid teens and above, which while biologically normative, is proscribed in our society to prevent people in positions of power from taking advantage of people with little or no power of their own.  Pedophilia is not about sexually mature people having sex with other sexually mature people, no matter how inappropriate or power-disparate such encounters may be.  It is common in the gutter press and other places that should know better, to use "pedophilia" as a pejorative to refer to adult attraction to teens and as the name of a crime.  It is neither....

1) Is the general public ready to accept the views quoted above?
Brock Pierce IS associated with the subject and so is Bitcoin with him in a prominent position.

2) If a child reaches puberty at 12 years old (for example), is sex with them a crime? (or should it be in your view)

yeah, that's another thing.. if you are known as a pedo, your public profile will not reflect well on you.. and in turn, it will make the foundation look bad. and if the foundation looks bad, so will bitcoin.

btw, "coincidentally" the age of consent in spain was only 13 years old - the lowest in all of europe. seems like this guy and his friends moved to spain in order to bang boys in the bunghole.. because the cap was "13 years old." that's pretty close reach towards pre-pubescent boys.
