My dream gift is way more than 1 BTC at today's valuation. Now if BTC were worth a lot more, that would be a different matter. What I am looking for is probably a new car, so around 40BTC to 50 BTC worth. That would be great, but it would suck if the Winklevii were right in BTC's potential.
bleh, i just realized that 40BTC is only $18k.. the amount of BTC i have is paltry. this makes me feel sad. I've got to revisit my numbers. I still view BTC as worth at least $1k. I used to value 90BTC as a Tesla and 45 as a BMW or Benz. Now, things have changed. When the prices go back up to $1,000, I will feel much better. you can view it at whatever number you want, but if you wanted to use it to buy something, then ti's about $450/coin now.

fyi, your title is relevant to how much you get paid per post (with most campaigns), so you'll have to stick around for a long time if you want to get paid well. you generate 14 activity points every 2 weeks, which means 1 per day.. so after a year, you'd have 365 activity posts (if you are active).

Watched last night game miami - indiana. Good game but my expectation for miami were high, I hope the will do better but it was little less then I expected.
miami is still a contender and all, but this year they are clearly not the same as they were in previous years. it looks like they are a step slower and their defense is not nearly as dominant. if the heat do get past the pacers, and that's a big IF, i'd still say the spurs will win it. they are hungry from last year.

I think Investopedia just wants to see their own name in major headlines with something like this. Also to see how many people will bite and try to rationalize how this is somehow possible... yes, maybe they're trying to bait bitcoin "to the moon" fanboys by saying stupid shit like it could be worth $1 billion per coin. i don't even have enough BTC to buy myself a car even. isn't everybody sad for me?

uh, i don't give a shit about gun rights.. what i do care about is how she is with her foreign policy. she just wants to continue on with the status quo with the military industrial complex. i'm guessing she'd be better than obama is with the politics though.

Looking to try cold storage, can anyone lead me to a "good" guide?
just look up a guide for electrum.. i found it to be the easiest. you can figure it out within a few hours. better than storing a .dat file, because you can check your balance on a read-only wallet.

The BTC user base is so small, less than 1 million people, that there would be no invective for eBay to accept BTC. It's kind of silly to think that eBay or any large corporation is considering adopting BTC in the near-future. It's not worth the trouble for large companies to start accepting BTC, especially since the bottom line for them is potential profits. Maybe if the BTC user base was huge, they would consider adding it, but not the other way around. Btw, ebay sucks and their fees are ridiculous.
You don't consider Overstock a large corporation? yeah i don't know what he's talking about. tigerdirect and overstock adopting bitcoin has been a boon for their businesses. getting 1 million people, with all these bitcoins to spend, onto your website is good. it also puts tigerdirect and overstock in the spotlight, so they get free press.

it's been so dapper with BTC for the past 3 months.. i'm waiting or things to heat up in the summer. speculating a far off number like $100k is too far in the future for me to even consider. i just want to see it rally up a little bit for the time being.

the bigger something gets, the more the degradation in quality.. or at least the perception of it. it's probably because out of 100 people, there are a few bad apples.. and if you grow to 100,000 people, for instance, then you'll get more bad apples. and people tend to place more scrutiny when bad shit happens. it's no different from reddit.

A list of 20 users with over 182,462 post and i know that 1 of these 20 users PG were banned for "Spam" how many others were banned for the same offense? I'm almost 100% positive with over 182k posts not all were of valued content or added to the discussion. I'm guessing at least 10-20% of these posts were "Spam" related in nature.
P.S. 20 people have a WHOLE lot of nothing else to do beside post.
PG was banned for excessive posting (I think) It's kind of hard to understand what motivates guys like him to post that much. He doesn't get paid to post, nor he promotes a cause or a profitable enterprise. It's easier to get why some of those top posters are signature campaign participants. They have a decent earning from that and you could even say that posting is sorta like a part-time job for some. i think he was banned for excessive use of a racial epithet. he kept saying "not all black people are (you know what), but my neices boyfriend is a (you know what). people have also accused him of talking down a company, getting paid for his silence, and then going silent.

Erik is very articulate and can organize his thoughts well when he speaks. I think he walks the thin line very well between the libertarian views of many user of BTC, as well as those who are pro-regulation.
His interviews are ones that I actually watch and listen to the entire thing.
yeah, he seems like a genuine guy.. but i've been wrong before, so i should reserve my judgment.

Not only facebook the whole social networking concept might face a decline in user adoption..! Its more like You use it and you get enough of it within a year or so.. and start avoiding it same case with FB , watsapp , twitter, etc...!
Hardly. There are so many people addicted to social media its disgusting! I have facebook and I keep certain people on there just for a good laugh. They facebook everywhere they are, take pics of their foods, etc. I see more and more young people glued to their phones while at the pub instead of socializing with those around them. Sadly social media is here to stay I'm afraid. The fact facebook is trading for roughly $60 bucks proves its far from dead. yeah, i think it's BS. social networking will continue to grow because we live in a society where everyone wants to be famous for the sake of being famous.. if facebook does start facing attrition, another guy will pop up and the game will be more level... that, or facebook will buy them out, kind of like instagram.

yep, that's apparently what you do when you have so much cash laying around.. just buy other guys and continue to get bigger and bigger. google and apple do the same.

The bees brothers? Maybe?
Nope. We are a long way from being millionaires. It didn't help that our first 200 bitcoins we gave to the the Pirate ($2000 at the time). They have also spent a fair amount of btc on things they need, their schooling supplies (we homeschool), and some of their activities. Why did people who had BTC sell so early? Didn't you all have jobs or careers that paid for your living expenses? you know, hindsight is 20/20. not everyone thought bitcoin was going to explode as it did.

I think that this move signs the end of the fondation or at least the way it is right now, Money speaks here and buying a platinum membership + the already goldmembership of his own company what made him win his seat, and the whole bitcoin ecosystem was to avoid such sham and it seems the old good habbit are still in place here
i'm thinking the foundation will continue to exist, despite the controversy. negative public opinion is not enough to bring them down.

i kind of liken him to the alex jones of the finance industry. he says more sane than alex, but he's kind of a caricature who is anti status quo.. all while using some of the tactics that he's complaining about (for personal benefit). i think most of what he says is true and has merit.. i don't question that. i only question his ulterior motives.

Has anyone actually been paid? I'm still waiting
I doubt you'll be getting paid. Where is your sign-up post? I must have forgotten to make the post, but it has been in my sig right when I made 50 posts because that was the min requirement I did not know I had to do this :/ It's all in the op. How can anyone tell or verify how many posts you made? When did you actually sign up? You've barely made 50 posts since January, so regardless you haven't lost much. m8, you are pretty hardcore.. 10k posts in nuts. i was ahead of you but fell off for 3 months. i'm just hoping you break your fingers for 3 months or so, so i can catch up. If my fingers broke I would type with my nose or maybe set up a Stephen Hawking-type system . Where did you disappear for three months to? i was doing hardcore meditation at some of the centers around the country. i was also burned out for, you know, making 1600 posts in december. Just be careful, mods are keeping an extra eye out for high volume posters at the moment. That's true but you posts gotta be really unconstructive wich hilarousandcos ones doesn't seem to be i just took a look at your posts.. you seem to have like, what, 8 words per post. you calling the kettle black?

Seems to me that they where just trying to kill any competitors while they where small. The only thing a capitalist hates more than a communist is a competitor. you can't do shit to goliath when you are just a david. Unless there are 30 goliaths and 3 billion davids... well, so far those 30 goliaths are winning and the 3 billion davids have had their voices reduced.. because those 30 goliaths have much, much more money, organization and influence than 3 billion davids.
