At least he only lives less than a mile away from the Kmart there in Temple City, CA. Almost walking distance. after even 2 shaves, it begans to dull. i can only get about 12 - 15 shaves vs. no name K-mart lasting 35 shaves. and i wipe any moisture off the blades for both, the no-name brand and the merkur despite the latter reads no need.

If this is the real Satoshi, he proves to be the biggest idiot on planet earth.
Since Bitcoin is one of the most significant inventions in the history of man, I highly doubt it.
Leah is a disgrace to her profession, there is no question there either... Newsweek is a disgrace to the industry for running said story in that manner.
He proves to be the biggest idiot on planet earth? LOL. Great! Let's give him a medal. WB got one, a man worth billions, and his home address is well-known, sans security I believe. Who's the shop master here, who can exchange WB's face with that of Satoshi's, and do something with that orange thing, like maybe a Bitcoin logo. PM me when it's done, and I'll toss you $10 USD via BTC. Make sure it's a descent looking job.

If this is true and those are indeed the real names plus the real house... that journalist is completely insane (and a criminal that should be arrested in my eyes). What the f# is this, completely destroying the privacy of the man who clearly did want nothing but his identity kept a secret? I hope this is just a ridiculous hoax. edit: https://twitter.com/gavinandresen/status/441547758827474946 Seems like it might actually be real The twitter proves that gavin is CIA as well. It was penned 5:16 AM EST, Gavin's time zone. You telling me he wakes about 4:30 AM? Takes a shit, brews some coffee, read the latest, then opts to tweets, all prior to 5:16 AM local.

This may or may not be true, but that's the "beauty" of "journalism". They can make any claims they want toward an anonymous person. Who can prove otherwise? You roll the dice and maybe this story forces the "real" Satoshi out of hiding.
Either case and if this is the real Satoshi, under Irresponsible Journalism in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Leah McGrath Goodman. This is an incredible invasion of privacy and since she could never definitively prove this is the real Satoshi, Newsweek should be sued for libelist statements, as this is certain to have a negative impact on this guy and his family.
There's your article! The woman who uncovered Satoshi Nakamoto revealed, showing her house, car, etc.

I predict you will be assassinated before that 24 hours is up if you're correct. 8D
I guess I wasn't.

Hell, I Don't believe it at all. Inb4, he gets kidnapped by mafia or usa. Fuck you newsweek Nobody's going to hurt the dude.
|
|

This is most likely not the real Satoshi. Unfortunately this article just ruined his life.
I respectfully disagree.

|

Newsweek would have done their homework prior to publishing, making sure that nobody was doxxed, otherwise they would have their ass sued big-time.

At least she's handling her Twitter account with grace as people chime in.

Reading the Newsweek article now, having found it prior to coming here. Had to stop to inject a quote in some main thread on the subject, and I guess it's this thread. Holding the keys has also made early comers to Bitcoin wealthy beyond measure. "I made a small investment in Bitcoin and it is actually enough that I could now retire if I wanted to," Andresen says. "Overall, I've made about $800 per penny I've invested. It's insane." I haven't taken the time to find the post where Gavin stated that his holdings were not that strong. Perhaps, somebody could dig it up, if it hasn't been done yet, while I finish reading the article. Taxing my memory, I believe the timeframe was during the discussion on justifying the TBF to pay Gavin a wage.

If any major exchange would go down soon, it would be BTC-E.
BTC-e is the next one there will be no more exchanges by the time its all said and done. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1vd0yu/cryptocurrency_ban_in_russia/A lot of people seem to think that BTC-e is based in Bulgaria. Let me tell you that I have strong reasons to speculate that BTC-e was founded and is (to some extent) controlled by Mayzus. Same guy who owns companies Mayzus FS and Mayzus.com and liteforex.com and has a a share in instaforex.com (and some more retail Forex companies). Please note that most likely Mayzus is not directly running most companies, BTC-e could be a side effect of their operation that unexpectedly became legit revenue generating business. This guy (Mayzus) has strong background in retail Forex business in Russia and is a minor political figure in some Russian region. His network spreads all over Europe and most of assets are probably concentrated in Cyprus and British Virgin Islands. He is one of the reasons I don't really trust BTC-e. If you know anything about retail Forex industry you will understand. But please note that this doesn't mean that if Russia outlaws crypto something will happen to BTC-e, I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that it's not really in Bulgaria. But it's in the hands of a man who operates businesses in many countries where it's illegal (retail Forex businesses in Asia). EDIT: Please note that it doesn't matter where the company is registered, Bulgaria or not. Mayzus has presence in a lot of countries and jurisdictions due to their "retail Forex" businesses, in many countries those businesses are subject to regulations so they probably have some sort of legal team in many of them. https://www.facebook.com/MtGox/posts/569432056474539?stream_ref=10Holiday Discount to celebrate reaching 1 Million Customers and a new partnership with Mayzus FS

14:52:39 <MagicalTux> note that the process we are in right now also allows us to start a process where everyone's debt is converted to share holding of the company, however this requires approval of at least half of the customers (around 500k people)
This has the signature of the official bail-in plans published by the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the EU, etc.. Starting to see pattern here, as I suspected as to who is really in control right now. Also, this link from reddit suggests that anarchystar is behind mtgoxrecovery.com (who've repeatedly refused to disclose who is behind them), a BF forum thread promoting them was made by Olivier Jenssens although yet again no information was forthcoming about who was behind them and their broader intentions. pastebin.com/1M0Qn59u Yes i would like Oliver Jenssens to disclose what law firm he is working with & he hasn't even after many have asked. Whoever takes over gox must be legit i dont wanna be goxed anymore so everyone knows.... Oliver jenssens = anarchystar = mtgoxrecovery.com Patrick will probably represent the law firm, with Johann Gevers handling the liquidation.

Nice trick to steal hard earned Bitcoin, First open an exchange then make a plan and take off Bitcoin bcoz no body can complain for this Virtual currency. That is why so many Exchange all of sudden started popping every second day.
I am 100% sure these stupid exchange owner are main cause for this all.
This is direct mistake of Exchange owner , why Users will suffer for his mistake ?
I know Busico... and he is solid as a rock... if he wanted to scam someone he would take all of your fucking shitcoins...but he didn't... the reality is this whole industry is a work-in-process.... and one little mistake can cost thousands or millions... he will make it right... and you have no evidence otherwise... if he offers shares for sale I will pitch in and help cover... that's how much I trust in what he says... Neither one of you have ANY evidence of malfeasance... zero.. nada...ziltch... you just throw out bullshit with no proof...
I don't know Tristan, but the people here that still proclaim that this is a scam are probably mostly trolling. It can be argued that the hack was at least partly due to lack of competence, but every indication is that this is not a scam. Tristan is not really anonymous either, his name is Tristan D'Agosta and I'm sure you would be able to find all the details you want about him if you made some efforts, but wouldn't it be more interesting and productive to focus on trying to track down the hacker who stole these coins!? sorry . but your business was hack , so it should be Ur business that take the lost . Image if paypal lost money from a bad employee. We wouldn't stand for our account to be lock or our balance to be touch. Surly Poloniex has made 10% in profit.
Poloniex should declare bankrupt of they cant afford the lost , It time for competent people to start running these type of business.
Your happy when your making huge profits with fees , Making us trust you with our money , then cry when you cant manage your affair.
First of all it is "surely". Second, do you understand the razor thin margin that Poloniex operates with? The trading fee is 0,2% per transaction, so even with a decent average trading volume of 400-500 BTC per day (currently about $265,000) he is only making 0.8-1 BTC per day! That has to cover hosting costs, his salary and all other costs of running the exchange. It's tough to get started in this business with little or no money, and apart from this latest attack I think Tristan has done remarkably well on what seems like a shoestring budget. The site is great and since he moved servers it's fast and responsive as well. Why do you guys think it would be a good resolution for Poloniex to go bankrupt!?? He has already stated that he can't afford to repay his customers from personal funds. This may or may not be true, but it's irrelevant, because we do know that it's not going to happen! I think he should shut down the exchange and pay back the users with remaining funds. Then pay out of pocket in another source of income to pay off his customers.
No one should trust this exchange if indeed it got hacked. Really it boils down to 1 strike and you are out. Out with the incompetent and in with the innovative and competent.
Says who?Aren't we his customers the ones who should decide if we want to keep doing business with Poloniex or not? For those of you that no longer trust him, just don't trade there anymore. I am confident that you will still get back your 12,3% that has been temporary lost. You do know that almost all the exchanges, especially the Altcoin ones, have had issues in the past, right? As far as I know, none of them has dealt with the situation with such openness, transparency and integrity as Tristan has shown so far. To me it makes much more sense that, after having solved the security issues, he continues to operate what is quickly turning into a popular and successful business, (if it weren't for hackers and thieves). Assuming that Tristan is able to solve the security problems on the site surely the best option for everyone would be to continue trading and make back at least enough BTC to make his customers whole again? The only sensible reason I can see for proposing that he should stop operating is if Poloniex continues to remain vulnerable to more attacks, which would put more funds from new users at risk. That is why we need independent security experts to verify that it's safe once the improvements have been made. I also think it's important that information is easily available on the site about these past security breaches, (as well as the actions that have been taken to make the site secure against future attacks). That way new users can join with open eyes and fully aware of the risks. This might slow down the growth somewhat, but consider how new and fresh such an open and transparent approach that Tristan has shown is compared to all the lies, deception and lack of communication we have seen from most of the previous sleazy exchange operators! To me Tristan and Poloniex is a breath of fresh air, both in regards to the general functionality of the site and his approach to these problems! As long as he is willing to hire the right people to help him lock down Poloniex from further attacks I would trust him more than the majority of the other exchanges, including the large ones. If he were also to introduce the insurance feature that I suggested in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=499580.msg5534025#msg5534025 it would be my favorite exchange by far! The people complaining and "demanding" to be 100% repaid don't seem to realize that we are operating in virgin territory with Cryptocurencies. You risk everything, every single time you deposit money or BTC on an exchange, and that goes for any exchange! If it's not due to hackers or owner theft your coin can just as well be taken by some government intervention. If you want 100% security, keep your coins in cold storage and make sure you are the only person to ever have access to them! If you want to take part trading, especially Altcurrencies, you have to be willing to take risks, but for most of us that risk is more than worth it! All that said, then Tristan D'Agosta should have no problem whatsoever in producing a police report. And, I'm not talking about doing such two weeks from now like Instawallet did, placing it in some foreign language section of this forum like they did, to only have it presented in the English section by another Bitcoiner that just happened to run across it. BTW, It's damn near 11 months now since I've had access to my 1,132 BTC that InstaWallet is still safeguarding. Lucky me!

I've been on this for the past five hours and, like you, I can't figure out where the headline stems from.

so if neo-bee referenced CNN news network, it means CNN owns neo-bee?
and that CNN are running off to cyprus because Neo-bee mentioned them?
.. im not seeing your point that there is any proof of the physical partnership/ ownership between karpeles and neo-bee.
what i will say though, is that neo-bee uses a who-is guard, so i wont be using their service. if they cant be transparent about their business, and i cant find an address to slap them with a wet fish if they fraud me.. i wont touch them
Actually, I've fucked up a few times with this exact same reasoning. Case in point, neo-bee is Bees Bros.
|
|
|
OK, this is pure speculation, so mods please move this to the according forum if necessary. Now, did anybody take a look at Mark's new business plan in hitting Europe? Did anybody hear about Neo-bee? http://www.neo-bee.com/index.php/en/Well, apparently their first reference to a Bitcoin website is: bitcoins.com Which is owned by who? ? http://www.neo-bee.com/en/faqs/scroll down till you see the reference links. Again, this is just speculation.... I knew them two Mormon Bees Brothers were up to no good when I first met them in LV. I'm not sure, but I think that their dad is the patriarch of the clan.
