Let gold do what it has been doing for over several years since 2008; down.
Gold is still considered most precious metal by many socities specially it has religious and traditional values. This keeps its demand always high and prices can never go down beyond a certain level

The most of btc users are Chinese not Russians. However, Russians are very interested in BTC because of their currency's situations recently.
Nope. The Chinese mine and trade. Other than that they have no use for it. Check the number of full nodes in China. It's pitiful compared to the US. As for Russia it's less than nowhere in BTCland and always has been and likely always will be. China may have most number of miners or mining farms but as far as number of bitcoin users are concerned,US has most. You can check the trade volume for US based exchanges to verify this assertion

I'm not buying btc anymore simply, i don't have more funds. But also it is not recommended to invest everything you have in just one investment such as bitcoin. Because you always can be surprised in negative way.
Yes thats true.Putting all your money in one thing is not wise move. One should diversify ones investment.I also buy bitcoin with my spare money and savings but I also invest in domains so if one thing fails,I can make profit with other

Its good that Japan wants to see Bitcoin as a normal currency, we need a first country that recognizes it as money. Some users are afraid about after that exchanges could be asked for licenses, but after MtGox, Cryptsy... I don't expect that bitcoin were regulated by governments, but could be good that exchanges need some regulation to be more secure for new bitcoin users.
It fits that Japan would be first to recognize it as money. I will be interested to see how this process works, other countries could follow leading to more adoption. Good news. It indeed is a good news if it is true.If Japan government accept the existence of bitcoin as a currency,it will boost the popularity of bitcoin worldwide. It will also add to Japanese economy as many Japanese e commerce site would star accepting Bitcoin

Bitcoin is invented by Satoshi Nakamoto but it is common knowledge that his identity is not known. If there arise any dispute related to bitcoin or its ownership, how would it be settled by court of law or in other words who is the legal owner of bitcoin?
As others have said, it is irrelevant that Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin. He is not the owner. If he patented it or it's systems, then yes, it would actually hold some weight in courts with ownership. If there arises a concern in court of any ownership of specific coins, the way that bitcoin is designed is that whoever has control over the private key to that specific address, is the owner of those specific bitcoins. The court would not be needed to determine who "rightfully owns" the coins, since you either control them or you do not. In law, the court is not needed to determine who "rightfully owns" the money in a bank account, unless it is a joint account shared between two parties (husband & wife). In the event of a joint account, different determinations are applied to divide funds. Does it mean anyone can use bitcoin name and its symbol for any commercial and non commercial purpose without the fear on being sued?

Hello, im curious how Blockchain.info is different from any other payment providers in providing my details (email, login IPs) on law enforcement request? How is it in the reality? We shall require any third party, including without limitation any government or enforcement entity, seeking access to data we hold to have obtained a Court Order, or proof they are statutorily empowered to access your data and that their request is valid and within their power. I think blockchain can refuse to provide any details on a similar grounds on which Apple Inc refused to provide details of his customer to investigating agencies.Even the federal court ruled in Apple's favor

I mean like on your local TV/radio stations, billboards,... Where the ad would 'simply' explain the concept and its advantages. Could this help to make bitcoin more popular?
EDIT: Or an even better question: should we try to make bitcoin more popular?
No doubt it will popularize bitcoin among masses but the question is who is going to pay for bitcoin advertising.Bitcoin is not owned by any one person and advertising in electronic media is very expensive I dont think anyone would do it

World War III broke out 6 years, huge disruption to everybody, there was limited nuclear bomb detonation in two smaller nations. Internet is in a state useable but not reliable. Will Bitcoin survive? Will smuggler use Bitcoin to buy weapon, or gold to buy weapon?
Bitcoin can survive World War 3 only if it becomes mainstream and is adopted by each and every person on the surface of earth.Nobody can predict how many people would be alive after world war but bitcoin needs a digital infrastructure for it survival which,I highly doubt, would survive World War 3

yes, you're right, I think everyone is waiting for bitcoin prices rise and wait for the right time to sell their bitcoin, I also till now I have to save bitcoin albeit small If everyone start selling their bitcoins at some point of time due to high price, wouldn't it bring down Bitcoin price down immediately?Saving is good but if you can spend it,it is better

how much it will cost for renewal after expiration? you are selling a domain which only have 8 days left to expire.? but your price seems shocking. any way I just missed this chance I think..
I think renewal is $11 for a year buy I am not sure. You still stand a chance to bid if the current auction winner doesn't response here or to my pm.I have informed him of his successful bid but he has not responded yet.Since domain has only 8 days left before it expires,I can't wait longer for his reply

I got this while posting in some different thread.A lot of guys here speculate and hope bitcoin to reach $1 million.Although I also wish that to happen but I wonder how would it happen, will it happen if Bitcoin become mainstream? I think if some oil producing nation start accepting bitcoins for exporting oil than Bitcoin price can shoot to $1 million..
BTC is designed more as a mode of transferring wealth than as an investment vehicle. Hence "cryptocurrency," and not "cryptoinvestment." You all keep focusing on the completely wrong thing. This is the best I have heard about bitcoin so far.It has given me a new perspective of bitcoin. Yes if we consider it as a mode of transferring wealth,we need not store it but only if we consider it an investment (which should not be the case),it leads to hoarding of bitcoin

This thread is filled to the brim with noobs and shills. Paypal market cap is 50 billion, and Bitcoin will easily beat that in the near future. It's also a much more valuable network than Paypal, hence my "it could easily be 100x from here by the end of 2020-2021.
That's true. Such a price is just absurd. I don't even expect the price to go over 5k. Let alone over 10k. 1 Million would be a price if everybody would use bitcoin. And we all know that's never going to happen. Even if everyone uses bitcoin 1 million dollars per coin is too much to expect unless the dollars has crashed in value. It is really to much to expect for 1 bitcoin to raise to 1 million dollars, theres not even a single currency in history that raises to that level. Bitcoin is not your traditional minted at will currency. You can not find any precedence to compare it with bitcoin.1 million may be far but not impossible.Remember bitcoin was $0.03 during its initial days and today it is more than $400 who knows it would be $40,000 in next 10 years

'buy low, sell high,' – that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.
That works only for high volume trade.Trading is not profitable if it is done for less than 1 btc.It also involves high risk
