321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Struggle now to invest in Bitcoin for a bright future. on: February 07, 2024, 11:36:41 PM
(....)
So we can go ahead with our bitcoin investment. If we struggle now, we may build a bright future. Even students could save some money from their daily spending and invest in Bitcoin.
Make sense but we must be cautious because no one knows what will happen to Bitcoin in the future, investing always comes with a risk.
But you can improve your decision-making by doing proper research and education.
The tips I am applying with investing in Bitcoin are first, adoption and utility and longterm perspective.
I think in all investments comes with risk, but if you are highly knowledgeable and experienced on the investment you are trying to indulge, then that won’t be too hard for you. But still, being cautious in your decision making is still a must, otherwise you will only suffer from losing a lot because you come to invest like taking a loan or spending the amount you can’t afford to lose. Bitcoin investment has still no certainty that it will always bring profits in the future, so always have a back up investment if ever that happens.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: February 07, 2024, 02:34:46 PM
I think the term you are looking for is "parlay" most low level gamblers tend to go with parlay  selection because it's make the possible returns a lot higher even when you stake with small amount but the only thing is that the risk is massive and most gambler know this but still cling to that small hope of theirs.
What exactly do you mean by "low level gamblers"?
Personally, I bet on parlay as well and I could also put a significant amount on single bets. Just to give an example using a figure, let's say I'll put $100 bet on a single game for the point spread, and then I could put $5 for a parlay bet. This kind of bet is quite fun for me, I know parlay does not have high chance but I'm getting some excitement with it especially if I'm seeing that the teams that are included in the ticket are winning, but if it lose, I'm okay as I'm more focus on the $100 bet.

When you are above average in terms of your wealth, playing single bet with lots of cash stake on it, is probably seen as a better chance at Winning it.
I'm just an average gambler, but I bet both on parlay and straight bets.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 07, 2024, 01:28:54 PM

I think Thanasis could be a competitive player in the NBA, but it seems like he's not really trying or wanting to be. I wouldn't be surprised if he's happy with his current position on the team because all he has to do is attend workouts, and for that, he gets a couple of million dollars and a season ticket to a bench seat at courtside as well. That sounds like a dream job. Grin

Well, greatness comes from working hard and having high aspirations and because they are already rich, I don't think he is motivated enough to improve his skills because Basketball is not his passion rather they only see it as a source of income and they are already getting it and the way he got his payment easily will not push him to practice some more basketball skills to be efficient whenever he is needed inside the court and we all know the politics behind the basketball games nowadays when you are not a star, you won't be getting enough minutes to showcase your skills anyway, so why bother to practice for more?

Why is he in the NBA if basketball is not his passion? I think the question here is whether he deserve to get sign or not for not getting minutes for the team.  He was criticized, but it seems like he'll stay as long as Giannis will stay, he is part of the package, maybe a special package for a special player like Giannis. He is their to support his brother, I think emotionally and mentally he is making Giannis toughher and that job could be worth a milion dollar job too.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 06, 2024, 07:27:00 AM

Game 3 will be tomorrow, hopefully Calvin will still play so it will be more fun to watch and SMB will try to put them on a 3-0 deficit.
Maybe another blowout win?

If there's an investigation that will be conducted by the PBA, result might not come out yet tomorrow if there's a player/s that needs to be suspended. Magnolia wasn't able to compete on the last 2 games, suspending Abueva might put them into bigger trouble, so hopefully that will not happen soon as they need him tomorrow to make it at least a competitive game.

I now checked the betting odds and its spread, Magnolia is +1.5 or 1.98 to win.  This line might move again like the last 2 games, so SMB bettors has to consider betting early again. Anyway, I think it's still not too important if they'll bet late as SMB might dominate again and win by double digit.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 06, 2024, 05:59:10 AM
The chances of the Los Angeles Clippers winning a ring this season? Very high.

I'm thinking the same. Actually, I was looking for a gambling site that still offers championship odds so I could bet on this team now.
This was updated last Jan. 30, 2024. The odds was +600 (https://www.covers.com/nba/finals/odds)..
I find it very attractive, because the way they are playing now, they seemed to be a problem by the top teams in the league.

What I can say is, Clippers has been dominating, it doesn't matter if they play a back to back game, or on the road, the energy they have is the same and they always came to win.
326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: As a trader never settle for less on: February 03, 2024, 10:48:37 PM
If you want to be a better trader you need to acquire different knowledge, skills, and strategies with the market, and of course, those you've gained you can use in your journey in trading. As you can see rich people don't settle for less they keep improving their mindset they must be different from others who can't afford anything. The reason why most rich people have a great connection is because you can get a lot from them.
Holding and trading bitcoin is not only the way to earn there's a lot more with the innovation of crypto.
Trading outcome will always be better if you are a good trader as well. But I believe there’s still room for improvement no matter how good you are already. So improve your performance, and develop more of your skills and strategies, that will eventually make you not less but a very good and reputable trader.

Now in terms of trader’s money making, we always trade to maximize our income, but that could also mean losing our funds as well. But if we won’t resort being less of a trader, I believe one will reap what’s best and what he deserves as a trader.
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Financial advise from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional. on: February 03, 2024, 09:59:32 PM
What do you think about this financial advice from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional telling newbies not to consider investing in the top 100 cryptos of which bitcoin is included, if they want to make profit?

He’s just trying to scam us with his own shitcoins. Once you fall on his trap, it’s like you are letting yourself getting robbed of the chances to be profitable with bitcoin, since we all know that we can’t trust other crypto coins in the market except for bitcoin which is the most legit and reliable out of them all.

This self-acclaimed financial adviser just proves that there’s no one to trust in the crypto market but only ourselves. So it’s better to get rid of him and his likes as he’s not obviously helping us but putting our funds in wreck.
328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: February 03, 2024, 09:34:26 PM
When you decide to enter the world of trading, make sure that you are good and prepared enough when it comes to your mind and emotions, and your finances as well as you should never trade if you cannot afford to lose your funds. While learning trading takes some time and requires necessary knowledge and experience in the market, some traders do not even think about it as they rely on third party for their trading decisions, or they rely on signals which I think cannot assure the trading success. If you are currently doing this, it’s better not to continue trading at all, otherwise you will only lose your time and money without doing such efforts to work on yourself.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 03, 2024, 12:37:59 PM
You can also add Horn on the list. He does not play defense as well, he keeps attacking like a bull and played dirty tactic on Pacman that's why he won the championship. These boxers you've mentioned, I believe they fight clean so I like them. however, kambosos although he doesn't bring a boring fight but recently, it seems like he allows himself to get punish in the fight without making an adjustment, so against Loma who is good in making one, I doubt he'll be able to last 12 rounds if he keeps attacking.
That make sense because majority of the posters here voted for "Lomachenko to win by KO". It's been a while since we've see Loma won a fight via KO, and against this very aggressive fighter of Kambosos, he'll not have a problem finding the right timing for KO. I hope he'll not get bully by Kambosos since his tactic is just very simple, which is to attack and try to wear down his opponent. I'll call Kambosos a warrior though, but being aggressive isn't enough to win, a good strategy will help a boxer win and that is the forte of a very technical Lomachenko.

Yes, however, I voted for Loma by decision. It's not that Loma can't win by knockout. However, if we see his last couple of fights, he love to go to distance with his opponents, and maybe to showcase his skills. Although he lost to Devin Haney, but it's very controversial with others saying that he was robbed in that fight by the judges.

I do agree, Kambosos is a warrior, he has been in great battle with Teo Lopez and x2 against Haney.

But this is another boxer that he will have to face in Loma, the experience and how technical fighter he is, Kambosos might have a difficult fight ahead of him and I see him losing maybe 7-5 close or 8-4 in favor of Kambosos.

His last win via TKO was on year 2021, so that's 2 years ago. However, it could also vary depending on his opponent, because Kambosos is a type of boxer that loves to bully his opponent, doesn't pay attention much on his defense as he just want to throw punches. If Haney was a power puncher, he could have KO Kambosos, but the former is very good, he didn't took that risk, instead, he make sure that he is in control of the fight and get an easy win.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: February 03, 2024, 11:44:28 AM
Do you really see gambling as more of fun than a means to a financial end?

how much can you put into gambling before it removes the fun aspect of gambling out of it?

Every gambler would like to win such a big jackpot that will provide us financially for the rest of our lives, but that does not mean that we should risk everything we have to achieve it. But we need to be realistic, something like that doesn't happen so often and it doesn't happen to everyone. So we need to gamble for fun & entertainment, and if we win some nice amount of money that is just a bonus, but if we lose some money we will not lose our minds. In the end, it's nice to have some positive expectations when we decide to gamble, but we need to know it's gambling after all, so keep your mind on the game and try to be realistic. Don't expect a financial end if you chase x2-x3 with some small bets on crash or dice game. Wink
You'll eventually get lucky if you don't stop gambling. It's okay to lose as long as you can easily move on everytime you lose. it's the size of bet that matters regardless of the kind of games you are playing. When you think you are gambling for fun, mean it, never be ambitious of huge win that you tink you already figure out using your knowledge or skills as most of the time it's juts a false assumption, especially if we are talking about games that are purely based on luck.

It's individual how much money can someone spend on gambling... some people can spend less and some more money, it's not that important! What's important is that you play with the amount you feel comfortable with, the money you can afford to lose.
We have different allocation in gambling as it's based on how much our income is. As a rule of a thumb, never spend a huge percentage of your income as that is too risky, maybe 5% is acceptable, but still depending on how much you are making. If you make $1 million per month, I think $50k for gamble is still too much, you aren't doing it based on purpose to make big money as you are making good money in a monthly basis with a $1m per month.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: February 03, 2024, 09:52:19 AM
I don't think anyone can become a millionaire from gambling. What you are showing is a 1/1000 or even 10,000 chance because he bet on many selections and won them all. I don't know if it's really called a "parlay". So you can't use that person as your reference that someone can get rich from gambling because that is very rare. Everyone has done a "parlay" and it has very high risks so you will also be paid very high if you win.

If you give that person as an example I can also give an example of how many people lose and ruin their lives because they think they can earn income from gambling.

I think the term "millionaire" is being massively overused in this thread and is misleading. The guy in the OP's bet had an amazing and highly improbable win, but he only got an equivalent of $18k out of it, so far from a life-changing or retiring-early amount.
That being said, you seem to be confusing possibility with probability. Is it possible to become a millionaire from gambling? - Yes. Is it probable? - highly not.
In terms of probability and bet value - it's still a wiser choice to attempt to reach millions by sports betting than by playing lotto-type games. But it's even better to develop marketable skills and try to earn it the old-fashioned way.

The point of this thread is only to proved that one can be a millionaire in gambling but you are right, the probably is low, that's the reality. So if anyone is inspired by this words in the OP without reading the real content, they might be mislead. Gambling doesn't guarantee a win, in fact as per reality, most gamblers losses because casinos have their advantage they used to run their business profitably, that's how it work, however there are times that a better got lucky (just like in the OP), so let's consider that as a lucky win which by its word lucky, it doesn't happen most of the time.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 03, 2024, 09:03:54 AM

James Harden may be the biggest trade that happened before the upcoming deadline. But Siakam and Anunoby have great impacts on their teams now.
Anunoby helped out a lot on the Knicks winning streak. Pacers Siakam somehow won some games while Haliburton is injured.

This trade has the biggest impact, at least on their respective teams, as both teams are getting contributions from the traded players, especially the Knicks who are on a winning streak now. However, I think Siakam is really a huge addition since he has great experience in the playoffs and they could use him as their go to guy to create his own shot, and hopefully by that time, Hali is not anymore having a minute restriction. Too early for the Pacers, they have the talent now that is capable of winning a championship IMO, all they need to build and polish is their chemistry and they should let Hali to lead this team so no conflict among players and the offense flows well.
333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much Did you like this forum on: February 02, 2024, 11:48:33 PM
So much that it made a big part of my adulthood years exploring and studying this forum not actually to gain profits but basically, to learn and to prepare myself with the technology that this bitcoin is offering to everyone. And while taking the process of learning, these profit opportunities suddenly come in that made it a big bonus for all of us.

Now, I don’t see or imagine myself without visiting the forum everyday. It’s part of my daily routine and I’ve come to accept already that with this forum, I will be able to build my dreams turn out into reality in the future, as long  as my faith is always huge and deep.
334  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 02, 2024, 10:47:43 PM
Saving should not serve as our end goal towards financial security and stability but it should only be our first step towards realization of our finances. While a lot of us are focused on saving, only few have taken the risk to take an extra mile and invest their savings. Yes, it could be risky but it’s the only possible way to grow your money and bring you multi sources of income aside from the salary you get from your stable job.

However, I’m not going to say prioritize saving over investing but I guess there should be balance between the two. If we are going to save, then we should see to it save also for our investment, to save for emergency funds and to save for the brighter future of the family.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2024, 08:55:10 PM
It’s better if you know how to perform binary trading at your own advantage, but if you are only doing this for the get rich quick mindset, I suggest go for long term hodling instead. You cannot expect profits if you trade without gaining necessary skills and knowledge, as the risk to lose is high most especially if you are still learning the process.

However, buying and hodling is less risky and less stressful so if you want to play safe with your bitcoin, don’t decide to trade if you are obviously not prepared for it, but settle first for long term hodling as the chance to make massive profits is quite high as long as you know exactly what you are doing.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 02, 2024, 12:03:31 PM
And there's the line movement, it's now -2.5, perhaps will move again to -3.5 as the game is nearing. SMB here are more ready, they are well rested while Magnolia only has a few days rest then they'll face the SMB in game 1. Trap or not, I think these two teams are sister team, they can create a script on their own to make this series interesting, so always go with the underdog but not this early.
Mate, that's always the case with these sister teams facing the grand finals. That issue can't be gone with us, fans, talking about it having the script and prolonging the series up to game 7. Like give and take to each other and all of them are winners including the venue and the PBA management per se.
What's important is that this kind of speculation will not destroy the entertainment of this series. Because if we believe the reason why one team losses because they have to follow the script, then we can always make our own judgement and sometimes excuses that we don't accept if what we are backing with losses.

I hope there's a series betting online. Unfortunately I could not find anything like that on the bookies I'm using, they are more on per game better but with good markets.
I've checked bets.io and yes, as you've said it's also a per game basis.
And as AFAIR, the max point spread that the line has move was -4.5, but it came back to -3.5 for SMB.

No news yet and, based on those social media posts, Bossing is also interested in signing him up with a very juicy offer, maybe for branding advertisement, knowing how big James name in this industry, but skills wise aside from his shooting capabilities, his condition is no longer the same since he left Magnolia., I personally think that he's just aiming for one more game as Magnolia rumors again rise regard to the influence of his former wife.

But hopefully, there's consideration that will be given even if it's only for formality. Just give him that blessing to retire his jersey as one of those top elite players who played for the franchise. I guess after "The Captain" James deserves the next spot.
I just realized that he's a councilor or public servant in San Juan and that's why it is not possible for him to get signed in B League because it's overseas and might disqualify him for his public post. I think that by next week or two, we'll see some news about him signing up.

B League, Seriously? at his age? I think that rumors has no basis.

Rockets got bigger now with this fresh news that came out.

Grizzlies trade Steven Adams to Rockets for Victor Oladipo, three second-round picks, per report

Quote
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The Grizzlies will receive two 2024 second-round picks and one in 2025.

Adams has not played in over a full calendar year due to long-term knee problems. He last suited up on Jan. 22, 2023, and missed the remainder of last season with a PCL sprain in his right knee. He was expected to be back this season, but underwent season-ending surgery on his knee in October after non-operative rehab failed to resolve instability. At that time, the Grizzlies announced that he was expected to make a full recovery for the 2024-25 season.

Although Adams is not yet playing due to injury, but when he comes back, he'll be a big help for the team that has been doing pretty well this season. They need a big guy and Adams is just the right answer. So great news so far about the trade news.

Pretty crazy that Oladipo has turned into a salary dump piece for trades. People were talking about him like he was a top 10 player a couple years ago. Injuries must have taken their toll on him.

And a mistake of not taking the max contract with the Pacers. He was used to be an all star player, now he's only gaining limited minutes with limited contribution. That's why it's important that when there's an opportunity, they should take it right away as it might not happen again, but too much for that. I think the kind of news has a huge impact for the Rockets, Steve Adams is still young, at age 30 although he was injured, I'm sure he will still be the same again and with him on the paint playing good defense, that will improve their defensive rating.

This looks like a trap. I will not take it right away, if the line will move in favor of SMB like going to -3.5, then that would mean people are betting on SMB while will make Magnolia more attractive for the smart money. If the line turns out to be line that, I might take the moneyline for Magnolia, this is an early game, it will not favor the popular team. Just my thoughts though.  Smiley
Wait for another game or three and then we'll probably see that the odds are going to change. Right now, it's like a real gamble for those who wants to bet with Magnolia. So, this is gonna be a fan betting for his favorite team to show support. But if you don't want to bet as you think that it is a trap, that's okay.
