1221  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 17, 2023, 09:57:58 PM

To make a living, we must work. In uncertain days like now facing the global economic downturn, a stable job with high income becomes a scarcity. A side job or business seems like more necessary than ever, which can minimize the risks of losing your current job, ending up pennyless. However, a side job/business also takes time and efforts and can never be attained whenever we need it. What did you do or will you do in order to ensure your finanical stability despite all unfavorable circumstances ?
Side jobs are always an edge to make ends meet more possible and to gain financial stability, especially in the present economic situation wherein everyone is struggling with money. So we need not to focus only on a single job but learn to embrace more jobs as long as you can manage your time, and you have the capabilities and skills to work on it. While most of the people are facing financial struggles, some wise men too are embracing a lot of opportunities to earn and gain outside their main job. Its more on a matter of proper time management.
1222  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 17, 2023, 09:33:25 PM
This reserve bank of India Governor failed to think the possibility negative impact of not accepting cryptocurrency or banning it.  With an additional cryptocurrency as mode of payment their merchant are able to have a diverse set of customer, banning cryptocurrency will leave these merchants with limited customer base.

Also if the government failed to adopt cryptocurrency and the country around them are into cryptocurrency, their country will be in a competitive disadvantage.  And also they will miss opportunities offered by the cryptocurrency and the growth that lies in this opportunity.

I do hope that the Reserve Bank of India Governor will realize the shortcoming if they ban cryptocurrency.
Probably he thinks cryptocurrency is a threat to the government that’s why he calls for an outright ban for crypto. And he all knew nothing about crypto but a source of fraud and scams. But we all know crypto, or bitcoin is  legit and not scam, and maybe all bitcoin enthusiasts in India can attest to that. However, knowing he’s in high position, he will try to control everything even if it means losing huge opportunities not only for the country alone but also for the citizens living in it.

Congratulations Barangay Ginebra~ Ginkings!!!
114-99
Congrats also too to the best player of the game, Jamie Malonzo! That game was amazing and still kudos and respect to the Bay Area Dragons. Their shooters were really inaccurate and might probably be intimidated by the crowd.

Attendance check on the Philippine Arena = 54,589 audiences attended!
That's a wrap, Ginebra is once again a champion and this game was really a record breaking.
Their game plays are very well, and even the Bay Area throws a lot of long shots they are not threatened by it because they become more active and focus on their offense. Probably the crowd plays an important role with this championship, they cheer a lot and that boosted the confidence of Ginebra. Congrats to Ginebra and those who place their bet with Ginebra.
What a game for Ginebra and what a support from the crowd, this is one of the reason why they push this into game 7.
Do you mean they rig the last game to have a game 7?  Smiley
Well, game 7 is really exciting, with a huge number of crowd, the celebration will be so satisfying, PBA makes a lot of money tonight and so with the bettors.

Well, no doubt about the skills of both teams and Ginebra prevails at the end, hope to see Bay Area in the future conference because they had a great run in PBA and maybe they can stay longer with PBA or other foreign team will join which will make this more exciting. Time to celebrate Ginebra supporters, Gin bulag is discounted again.  Cheesy

Bay Area was probably amaze by the huge number of people in the crowd, they are not get used to it as this is a young team, inexperience, unlike Ginebra who has been in the finals many times already.

Reports saying that the Lakers are trying to talk LeBron into riding out this year and then in the offseason they'll try to get Dame or Beal.  I honestly think from a business perspective, this is the only thing that makes sense with Westbrook's contract.  They're going to have to eat that money and then try again to get a championship level point guard.  I'd personally love to see Dame and LeBron play together, as they're both a couple of the best ever at what they do.  They're both getting pretty old though.  I hope there's still time for them to play at a high level.  In any event, this is bad news for people who wanted to see the Lakers in the playoffs this year.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-insider-says-the-los-angeles-lakers-are-trying-to-sell-lebron-james-on-acquiring-damian-lillard-or-bradley-beal-this-summer/ar-AA16knMc

I love me some Dame time.  But he is on the backend of his career he can't be the young juice they bring in.  AD and Bron will be another year older.  Bringing in vets barely ever works.  Honestly Beal might be a good option though, haven't followed his injury history although I know he has been out this year a bunch already.  They need bodies on the floor 82 games a year.  That is their issue.

Yeah, but maybe he can still bring some championship to the Lakers? He is still good no doubt about that, it's that the Portland management was not able to surround Dame with good players. and maybe if him and Lebron can be team mates, who knows, maybe they will click as long as the second unit will be their to assists them.

I understand that they have to play gruelling 82 games and then the playoffs, but that's the true testament of a good player and solid team.

And I think Dame + Lebron might be a good combo.

Dame is proud of his loyalty with the Trail Blazers, so I don't think we will see him in another team. Lebron already had Westbrook, in fact, before Westbrook played with the Lakers, the hyped was very high since Westbrook is a triple double machine, but they failed our expectation.

Lillard's statement here;

1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 15, 2023, 12:39:56 PM

Congrats to those who win, and lots of surprises too, Clarkson has a big game with 38 points but they lost by just 1 point against the Sixers. Cavs as well, surprising lost to the Wolves.

That would have been big if they were able to design a good play for them. He was trap in the last seconds, I don't understand how that play came, probably they panic because 76ers is a good team. Anyway, yes Clarkson had 38 big points, and this team almost beat a complete 76ers not having the other best player Lauri, and Sexton.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder versus Andy Ruiz Title Eliminator on: January 14, 2023, 11:50:40 AM
Ruiz is already out ranged, which probably means that anything thrown by Wilder will be at speed, and connect at the right moment. He's shown a decent chin, and good recovery. However, I personally don't think it's a good thing that it has been tested so many times. You do that against Wilder, and you'll be knocked out before you know it.

Fury showed that when you put Wilder on the back foot you'll still eat some big shots, but it's probably better to put him on the back foot, than having him wait until the perfect moment. I can't see Ruiz putting him on the back foot too much, since he doesn't really have the physical presence that Fury has.

Two different fighters, Ruiz is not even a top 5 best heavyweight boxer in the world IMO, so Ruiz does not stand a chance against Wilder who is a power puncher. With this size, I don't see he can do a big counter punch on Wilder if he doesn't know how to box him well, and if he cannot absorb the hard punches of Wilder.

I'm not expecting a lot from Ruiz, but I'm just hoping he'll give a competitive fight so the fight will not end immediately.
1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 14, 2023, 10:18:16 AM
Just found out though that Canelo started boxing at the age of 15, so if he is 32 years old, then he is boxing half of his life already.

So who knows, he might be old for some boxers, but for sure he can still fight and probably have 2-3 years good in him.

Most of the successful boxers starts boxing when they are still young, like Mayweather. 2-3 years? I think he still has more years, in fact, he is still dominating now, he only lose when he attempt to move up and challenge a champion, but in his division where he was an undisputed fighter, he is still the king.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 14, 2023, 08:46:59 AM
I guess that's it and just like how the Bay Area Dragon reactivate their import, Powell. So, there's the possibility that there could be an import on the side of Ginebra on Sunday.
Just for game 7, there could be some surprises on their roster based on the naturalization of Brownlee. Thus, it's just the same roster and Brownlee is going to be for keeps of the Ginebra for the next conference.

No, they will not have a new import. That will be too unfair for Bay Area Dragon. 2 imports playing at the same time.

There is no betting line in Stake yet, but I am guessing, Ginebra will be the favorite this game. If not, that would be a big chance for us to have good odds for Ginebra.

It says Ginebra will be playing an all Filipino line up tomorrow because Brownlee is officially a Filipino. Even if they will add an import, that will not help, it will only ruin the chemistry because there's no time anymore to practice and for sure Tim Cone would not risk on that.
1229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 13, 2023, 10:38:02 AM
Remember the first trading lesson you learned as a newbie? Did it come from a win or a loss? A loss teaches you about the reality of the market, protects you from becoming cocky, and humbles you. When you are a beginner trader, a small loss is not a terrible thing. Losses teach you proper trading risk management strategies and techniques and respect for the market and prepare you for long-term success.

Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
It’s more of losses actually as I’m still starting to grasp about how to be profitable in trading. But because of that, I’ve learned how to develop and enhance my trading passion and build my own working strategies. And yes, everything that cause us pain and losses even in trading will definitely bring a lot of lessons to learn that will help us build positive perspectives in life. And we eventually become better and better as our own experiences will certainly be our best teacher.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of accepting bitcoin in business on: January 13, 2023, 10:13:53 AM
It is music to my ears every time I read about businesses big or small or medium accepting bitcoin or even cryptocurrencies in general. Here in this forum, most of the time it is the Nigerians showing their bitcoin adoptions. More power to you guys and keep it coming. Maybe Nigeria is the next country to legalize the use of bitcoin as a legal tender.

Sadly in my country, we cannot accept bitcoin without a permit from our business bureau which is a very long process. But I am not losing hope that one day I will travel around my country to see stores that accept bitcoin.
Nigeria is certainly a crypto friendly that’s why most of the citizens there have known and have been exposed to crypto particularly with bitcoin. So it’s not surprising at all as it may follow the path of El Salvador and adopt bitcoin as a legal tender. Maybe the reason too why OP has been gaining advantage on accepting bitcoin in her business, as bitcoin is also popular to foreigners as well. Anyway, this could be an eye opener for most of his guests that bitcoin is legit and can be a legal currency as well. Aside from boosting adoption on bitcoin, she could earn a huge amount of income too if she keeps on accepting bitcoin and hold them for long term investment.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 12, 2023, 09:59:05 PM
I tried to ask ChatGPT if it can predict the winner of an NBA game and this is what it said:
Quote
I am not able to predict the winner of NBA games because I am a language model trained on a large dataset of text and do not have access to real-time information about the games or the teams. Additionally, there are many factors that can affect the outcome of a game, such as injuries, team dynamics, and the performance of individual players, that are difficult to predict.

I guess that alone is enough answer whether AI can predict outcomes or not. Maybe there are some here who can crack the code and can get something from the ChatGPT, but I guess relying on statistics is way better than relying on AI when it comes to predicting outcomes. Another question is that, can you trust your money to an AI? ChatGPT isn't updated and the information that it is giving to us are the ones that it got until 2021 which means what happened in 2022 and this year (if there are some) aren't in the ChatGPT therefore, it is a bit of outdated. Nevertheless, give it at least 3-5 years then we will see a better one than what we are seeing right now.
Let’s just say that AI may be good in some aspects when it comes to giving accurate answers but I don’t see it working when it comes to gambling predictions. Especially in sports betting where everything relies on team member’s performance and to say that they comes with uncertain moves, so every details in it would never be accurately predicted. It’s still best to settle with our own good and practical analysis based on real events, especially that we are betting our own money on this.
1232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another lesson for those that are using custodial exchanges and wallets on: January 12, 2023, 08:58:20 PM
So they're only stealing 10% of your money. They should call it a bail-in, that's what banks would do.
I understand that it could be their own way of having a bail-in, but if we keep on depositing our funds there and everytime we withdraw they would also keep holding the 10% of our funds, then eventually they are like  gaining huge profits from our own deposits. That is way too unfair for our part. That is why we should never trust exchanges like this as they can get richer in time while leaving us poorer in the end. Its better to have our own non-custodial wallet wherein we could have the full control of our own hard-earned money.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 07:56:04 PM
In my opinion, any service provider that has an ANN thread, whether or not runs a signature campaign, the service provider must have a representative to handle every question and to solve problems with their bitcointalk representative account. The ANN thread created on this forum is not just a promotion, but it is also a place for unlimited discussions available to their users. The presence of CS who handles forum accounts will be very helpful in any case. So I think it's will be good if company representatives are willing to maximize this forum to become a place to solve problems and discuss for its users. Refusing any complains or questions from this forum, it can be said they are doesn't have responsibility for their customers. Maybe for some of casinos, this forum not giving a lot of members for them, but number not everything, but any bad review will bring bad impact for long terms, and vice versa.
For me, I don’t see it wrong if they refuse to answer the concerns raised here in the forum. That is if they can manage to solve it immediately and gamblers will be satisfied with it. But if casino staffs tend to ignore the problem, then they should expect that the problem will be raised in the forum so that other reputable members too can give their opinions and ideas on addressing the problem. However, I still believe that responsible casinos should never try to avoid answering in the forum because knowing bitcointalk forum, it’s more like a home of all crypto gamblers, once they fail to address the problem, the casino will be given negative feedback and might lost some of their potential customers.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 12, 2023, 04:33:09 AM

Game 7 do-or-die game will be on Sunday on the Philippine Arena. I'm a bit curious how many people will try and watch the game. Based on Wikipedia, the Arena has 55,000 seats. Will we ever see the Arena be filled with audiences? Will we ever see the greatest number of audiences who watched a PBA game in history?

Maybe at least double the total attendance in game 6. Philippine Arena has a capacity of over 50k, so accommodating a huge number of fans is not a problem. This would be in history too, so it's nice if Ginebra will win this doe-or-die game.
1235  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 11, 2023, 09:35:17 PM
I find it very hard to manage funds , especially as I still reside with family  , and I have a generousity problem  , I can't see someone in lack and withhold my last dime even if it might be my capital  ,I don't mind giving it out to solve that problem  , I think when I eventually start staying alone,  I will seat up.

Same here. I am planning to live alone this year. I want to focus on myself and stop thinking about others that are actually not my responsibility. I want to take advantage of the opportunities that are up for grabs, especially since next year is already the halving of bitcoin. I need to save more funds because bitcoin halvings only happen once every 4 years. This might be the only chance that bitcoin can grow to a minimum of 500% since growth will slow down and there might be price stability once the bitcoin market reaches trillions of dollars.
It’s okay to live alone away from your family but always know that your obligation to your own family should still continue, not completely giving all what you have, but at least help them in things that you are capable of. Anyway, opportunities are always around, we just have to look for it and grab them whenever we can. Personally, I have my own family to support too, that is why I have to work harder in order to sustain my source of income so I can also cater to their basic needs. It’s not really an obstacle for financial freedom, but most likely an obligation especially for my parents as I won’t be here today without them in the first place.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Example of Not your Keys Not your coins on: January 10, 2023, 09:59:19 PM
Look how exchanges are scamming us. Most often we create account at exchanges and never care to read the terms and conditions and blindly click on "I agree" button.

Look what happen with celsius. When the Celsius users reach the court to demand their bitcoin back, the judge told that people have already given their legal right on their bitcoins and not no one can claim any bitcoin from Celsius.

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1610966401778421761
That is the reason why we need to read carefully every details of the terms and conditions because everything is listed there, and once you signed it, the company has assumed that you already agree to their rules. And since most of us are not doing this, the reason why most of us are prone to scams. Exchanges will always take advantage from us, and that will only stop if we stop using them and resort into saving with our own hardware wallet. That way, they can never scam us anymore.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 10, 2023, 09:32:13 PM
Some Casinos are just plain fraudulent. So this woman visited a casino, play slot and won $43million. She took a selfie with the amount displayed on the machine. The casino saw it and told her to return the next day so they could talk about the winnings. Next day she returned. Story changed. She was told the machine had malfunctioned and therefore it was what was responsible for the winnings. They went ahead to offer her a complimentary steak dinner. I got so livid reading this story.

Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

Frankly, this whole story looks doubtful in many details. In any case, if something like this actually took place, then the final decision will be made in court. The casino cannot say that "the machine was broken, you did not win anything" this must be proven.
In addition, I was struck by the fact that she went home to "come back tomorrow and discuss the winnings." I understand that she was in shock, but you can't do that.
The casino is obviously making it’s own shallow excuse just to avoid paying the big amount of winnings. Maybe the casino is used to this that’s why it’s easy for them to make an excuse. But if I were the player, I should never settle with that. I should at least receive a significant amount even if it’s not equivalent from my winnings. Otherwise, if the casino still refuse to pay, this case should be carry to the court and only the court by then will decide if casino’s action is valid or not.
1238  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 09, 2023, 09:55:28 PM
The world's economy is currently in trouble, and the world's mercies are currently in difficulty,  Things are getting more expensive and difficult for average people to meet up with, for example, food prices have risen above expectations, and onions in your country been $12.57 per kilo, which is shocking because, in my region onion is as low as 0.15 dollars, seen the price of onion in your country is not funny at all. Country life is also getting more difficult than it was for those of us who were born in Africa.
That is the worst result of inflation these days, seeing average people hardly meet their basic needs and end up adding in poverty line. Even rich people I guess are also seeing these differences now, but for sure they won’t care at all as long as they don’t feel the inflation that much. Although I would say I don’t belong to the poorest of the poor, but I have felt living life this time and it’s survival is so hard for us, can’t imagine how those poorest people are coping up with this situation.
1239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I came here to Learn On Bitcointalk on: January 08, 2023, 01:05:46 PM
You will certainly learn a lot here, but you need to be specific with what you want to know as this forum has a lot of topics, you might loss your focus if you will check all of the time, and also it's very time-consuming, unless you are not doing anything aside from learning bitcointalk.

Forum is used to share and gain information, that's what you get here, you will read a lot of investment opportunity and also remember that scammers are everywhere, so you need to be smart enough to detect the possible scams.

Also, if you are here to earn, you can sure see plenty of opportunities, just give time to search.

Congratulations to the Ginebra Gin Kings, they successfully won the game despite the come back of Bay Area. Stan the man had a big contribution because his 3 point shooting are sinking in when Brownlee was doubled. Now, they are just one win away to win the championship, what a reward for the huge number of crowd.
