1021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: one mistake that crypto beginners should be aware of ? on: April 09, 2023, 07:33:34 PM
Mistakes shouldn’t be overlooked and there’s no one mistake only that newbie should be aware of because all of them should be considered. Focusing on limiting yourself to prevent a single mistake will just just give a terrible result in the future because you are allowing other mistake to come at you.

In general, Being cautious by not trusting everyone here in crypto space is the best thing to do. Use a service as if they will scam you so that you will not be comfortable leaving your asset unsecured with them. As a newbie, They are the one that needs extra caution on what they are dealing in crypto but sadly most of the newbie are careless and just learning from mistakes after losing their funds.
Mistakes will always be mistakes, so we should learn to avoid them as they become unnecessary in the long run, though they can motivate us to be careful the next time and never do the same mistake again. But how can we avoid them? It’s hard to avoid mistakes but by being more knowledgeable and having more experience in the market, it will lessen the risk from committing mistakes. And by being extra cautious in all that we do, even not trusting others to do it for us, we will learn to get rid from committing mistakes.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 09, 2023, 07:13:54 PM
The problem here is that the system should have some way to fight these criminals because we don't want bitcoin to be associated with drugs and sex trafficking,  but the problem is, by solving these problems we should get rid of anonymity which is a pillar for the bitcoin technology, so it can't be done. And this problem might be a big obstacle in mass bitcoin adoption and regulations that are coming.
Almost every single currency or asset that exists in the world is used somewhere in a criminal or bad activity, and that doesn't really make much of a difference as those using it are the ones who are bad and not the currency or asset that is being used. People used to think Bitcoin is a currency used only in criminal activities some years ago, but did that stop Bitcoin from becoming famous or proving everyone wrong? No.

So no matter how hard a certain group of people or authorities try to convey it so that it looks bad and people stay away from it, it will become more and more popular and people will start using it more. So we don't really need to worry about that thing.
True. As long as the government is against bitcoin, it will always be a bad currency for them, even involving bitcoin indirectly in criminal activities and scams which I think fiat is also not free about it. I guess no matter what currency it is, as long as it create conflict on fiat, then it will always be the bad one. So the thing is, we just have to get used about it, as negative criticisms will only make bitcoin more popular and will never lessen its effectivity, though global adoption might also being threaten about it.
1023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I engage with everyone intellectualy and learn bitcoin on: April 09, 2023, 06:59:15 PM
Hmmm. Note that you don't have to be great at the start, in fact, it's normal to be that way. Take it one step at a time.

You may also feel like you have to teach others every time but that's incorrect as you could always ask people something you're curious about and start an engaging conversation which is what the forum is for, however do be careful of creating redundant threads.
Members who have higher ranks in the forum were once newbies too so they really understand about how you feel. And yes, do not push yourself to be great, as everyone started with less knowledge and less experience in the forum. As long as you take every chances to learn and understand in every topic that interests you, remember you’ll be great and become highly significant poster in the future. Just be active and engage in the forum’s conversation, surely you’ll be well knowledgeable later on.
1024  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can old trading strategies work again? on: April 09, 2023, 06:44:25 PM
The question of if or if not an old trading strategy can work again depends on if the strategy is outdated or not, not whether it is old.

If the strategy is outdated due to a better, more accurate strategy existing or because the strategy does not work for modern times, then obviously it is better to avoid it and go with something better. But again, in order to find that out you have to understand the fundamental workings of said strategy. Some of them are completely timeless while others have gone completely extinct since the age of the internet.

But this topic has gotten me thinking...I would love to go through some ancient trading strategies, perhaps I can find resurrect a hidden gem?
Sometimes, being old is also associated with being outdated. But yes, I also believe that it’s not how old the strategy is, as long as it’s still functional and not outdated, it can still be a perfect strategy to use. But if in case the strategy is already outdated and not being updated or level up, there’s really chances that it will never work again. Also you have to evaluate and retest too if it will not gonna work anymore before abandoning it.
1025  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have bought my Dream Mobile Phone Because of Signature Compaign earnings on: April 08, 2023, 09:52:35 PM
I’m proud of you OP. Keep up the good work and you will never go wrong with bitcoin on your side. I’m just amazed that at such a low rank, you are still making a good income from signature campaign. Probably you’re a good safekeeper of your funds that’s why you end up saving a good amount. And if your position will level up, then you will have higher chances to earn and save bigger income and that will pave way for another goal to be unlock. Congratulations OP.
1026  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: April 08, 2023, 09:23:31 PM
The government is obliged to provide the means to eradicate poverty but its in the hands of the people if they will do their part as citizens of the government which will help them to be one step away from poverty. So I believe everything still relies from the decision of the citizens. Otherwise, if they chose not to move and not doing any job that will provide them source of income, they will never get rid of poverty and will never experience changes in their lives.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 08, 2023, 08:59:17 PM
For me, there’s no need to convince a person that is showing skeptical to bitcoin. At the end of the day, he will only believe his own words, and not from a bitcoin enthusiast. So it would be a waste of time if I pursue on that, I would rather educate those who show eagerness to learn than to convince people who are mostly not open minded especially in an innovation like bitcoin. Let him be a devotee of fiat, let’s see if he will stick to it when most of the people are already successful with bitcoin.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 08, 2023, 08:45:37 PM
Basically, yes. Everything that is called investments is considered as risky by any means, so those who do that especially investing in bitcoin as its high volatility are called risk taker.
But technically speaking it depends on the amount of someone invest, tolerance and your objectives and it its subjective knowing there are degree for risks.
I would agree with this. Bitcoin is highly volatile so everything with it is uncertain. And those who still manage to take the risk are definitely called the risk takers, including myself. However, if you invest with bitcoin will a minimal amount, you are somehow reducing its risk, especially if you come to invest with equipped knowledge and skills, that is risk management.
1029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before You Go All In on: April 07, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
Before you go all in stop and think about it for a second. Many times I didn't take that second for thinking and I recklessly throw some money (small or big amount). I agree with OP, we usually try to make some quick profit, but all-in is a desperate move and will end up badly in most cases.

... trading is a very competitive market and the volatility is so high that if you do not find some sort of a balance , it will eat you up.

And we really have a very competitive market and very high volatility, and it is not easy for everyone to find a balance and be profitable... in the short or long run! It's risky, but if we don't dare to try and take some risks we can't know the outcome. I guess nobody has a 100% win rate, we all make mistakes and bad moves, and we need to learn from them and it is how we grow and get better in whatever we are doing.
We all know trading is really hard, that’s why we can’t expect to maximize our gains instantly. The reality is, it takes a lot of hardship and losses in trading before we can finally say that we’re totally good in trading. And since trading requires good market analysis and working strategies to make it work, some traders end up losing that made them quit in the end.
1030  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Things I've learned day trading Bitcoin for 3 years (successfully) on: April 07, 2023, 09:40:46 PM
-snip-
In general, trading is an art, and to be an artist, you must choose your own method. It is true that there are similar things, but in the end, your artistic touch is necessary.
In order to determine the method, it is necessary to practice in order to find a suitable method.
Any artist will not find their method with just one try. Including in trading, technical analysis, and fundamentals become the basic art of trading that must be known.
If you have mastered it, you are ready to enter the next step.

And as for the time it takes, it depends on how one learns and understands it.
If OP takes 3 years to succeed, then other people may be more or less than three years.

No knowledge is obtained instantly, it takes a process because the process is important.
3 years is even quite long if you are really putting your whole self in trading. You could have mastered trading within a year or two if you are really determined to learn and master it. But everyone has its own unique way in learning trading, but I believe with frequent experience, it will always be the best teacher no matter what. Trading is never easy, that’s why we should also learn it even in the hard way.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Females domination in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on: April 06, 2023, 08:06:49 PM
It doesn't matter whether you are male or female because of the fact that Bitcoin was created for all people. Let's not separate this kind of thing and there's really no useful context. Anyone can own Bitcoin, women, men, young and old all have the same position in holding Bitcoin. If we classify Bitcoin ownership only from gender then indirectly Bitcoin is won by male groups. But is that the point? But I really admit that the contribution of women in helping to improve blockchain technology is extraordinary. The list above shows us that women have equal rights in participating in a part of crypto adoption.
True. Bitcoin is is equally made for everyone, so there is no male or female domination. As long as he/she is capable enough to invest and hold or trade bitcoin without immature decision, he/she will surely succeed in his/her bitcoin endeavor. However, it’s not bad at all if we also recognize the efforts made by women in the crypto industry, as they can also be like men that are risk takers and love to engage in technology and innovations.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 06, 2023, 12:53:45 PM
We have seen how Manny Pacquiao live his life now and for sure that's the best example for all those fighters
who will have that same privilege. They need to make sure that before over spending the money they've got
something that will allow them to still have a comfortable life away from boxing.

Pacquiao is a good example of a successful post-boxing life, due to his careful management of his finances. However, in terms of net worth, Donaire is not as wealthy as Pacquiao with a reported net worth of only $5 million according to an article.

Donaire just have to be smart in investing his money since he already have enough to invest.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 06, 2023, 12:28:37 PM
I believe a spread of -2.5 for Ginebra would be reasonable. It's already tempting, and they should be able to cover that if they win.

The last time they played, I think the odds for the money line were almost even, or TNT was a slight favorite, if I recall correctly. So, there's no reason to change that, as TNT won their last meeting, making them likely the favorite in game 1. The odds will probably change after the game. Sometimes, it's difficult to predict how bookmakers set the odds. For example, if TNT is the slight favorite in game 1 and they win, do you think they will have the same spread in game 2? No, because Ginebra will likely be the favorite in game 2.

If your opinion is correct, then I'm sure there will be satisfied bettors who will take the money line odds for game 1. Many fans are rooting for Ginebra to win, which I think is justified because they are currently the best team in the PBA. Ginebra is likely to win the series, but it's uncertain if they will take game 1. Betting on the game is a bit of a gamble, but as long as you enjoy watching the game, a small bet is not a big issue.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do new online casinos struggle? on: April 05, 2023, 01:39:12 PM
The main factor behind the establishment of new casinos is budget. If a casino has enough budget and a solid business plan, they can take the necessary steps to develop their operations, including marketing and other expenses. However, it's important to balance the risks and be cautious, as the market is highly competitive. Slowly but surely can be a good strategy to avoid overspending and ensure long-term success.

Most new online casinos struggle at the beginning actually but as long as they know how to figure out the problem and solve it, they'll eventually be successful.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think low processing fees is more beneficial for merchants? on: April 04, 2023, 01:11:43 PM
Adoption is key, and generally, merchants prefer lower processing fees as this attracts more users, which is good for their business. The low transaction fees would work for the network if it can gain sufficient volume, as these two factors go hand in hand. High volume is necessary to satisfy the crypto project and provide the best service to merchants and buyers alike.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 04, 2023, 06:47:44 AM
Take note that the Mavericks need to win all of their remaining games, then after that, it will all depends on the other teams whether they will enter or not. Just winning 3 straight games is hard for the Mavericks already.

It's possible for the Mavericks to win against the Kings, Bulls, and Spurs, but it's unlikely that they'll win all three matches. The Kings and Bulls have been playing well compared to the Mavericks, so winning against them will be a challenge. Even if the Mavericks win all three matches, they still have to contend with other teams competing for a play-in spot who will also be fighting hard to win. In my opinion, the Mavericks' chances at the moment are very low, and they have a tough road ahead of them.

Kings will be very difficult to beat unless Sacramento will take a dive on this game, but I doubt that they will as they want to win as well to get that momentum entering the playoff because this is the first time that they will be in after many years. The Bulls is inconsistent, but in any night, Zach Lavine and DeRozan could be the most formidable duo in the league, and if that is the case, then it's going to be a problem for the Mavs. Spurs, is at the tail end of the standing, and this is the only game that I can think of that Mavs have a good chance to win, but it won't be enough for them.

Before the Kyrie trade, the Mavericks had a promising record, but it ultimately led to disappointment, and it seems unlikely that they will make it to the playoffs this season. As for the Suns, who were previously upset by the Mavericks in the Western Semi-Finals, they may feel relieved to avoid facing them this year.

It's better to accept the reality that the Mavericks are unlikely to achieve a miraculous turnaround, rather than continuing to hold onto unrealistic expectations.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 04, 2023, 06:26:51 AM
CStand and Aguilar are twin towers of the TNT and with that, they might be forced to put 2 big to defend the paint. It's good that the TNT has many good players who can just step up offensively when needed.
Ginebra has the advantage inside the paint with the return of Aguilar, giving them an added boost. On the other hand, TNT needs to focus on their accurate 3-point shooting, as it will be their main weapon in winning the series.

While TNT has good outside shooters, Ginebra also has talented shooters who can defend well. Ginebra has an advantage in terms of size as their starters are taller and known for their strong defense. This is an opportunity for C. Stand to display his skills, including his passing ability and improved free throw percentage. If Ginebra wins the series, he may become the Finals MVP again as he is nearly unstoppable.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most likely category of people to become Gambling addicts. on: April 02, 2023, 12:00:31 PM
In summary, just don't introduce it to anyone that you know that are not capable of controlling their emotions because you'll never know on up to what point they can control themselves.

Because the time might even come that you'll be the one to be blamed by those people whom you've introduced gambling. That's not a new story and there have been cases like that they were blamed and made it looked bad because they've just introduced those addicted gamblers to gambling.

Avoid being the trigger of others that may fall into gambling addiction if you don't want to get involved and be blamed for.
It’s a certain fact that you might be blame in the future because you’re the one who attract and convince them to try out gambling. Although this can’t sometimes be avoided, but if you happen to attract someone, make sure that he’s a close friend of yours so that you can easily give him advices without the feeling of being offended. Or much better that never drag someone into gambling, unless if it’s his own will to gamble and prepared himself for whatever loss he may incur.
1039  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2years of trading! on: April 02, 2023, 11:07:17 AM
In fact, I did not finish reading all the words, many here are skeptical about links that may include downloading things, so it is better to quote part of the text here.

The advice is good, but without practical training, it will not benefit the user, as the user will link the advice to its importance after it occurs, such as not leaving your money in a central platform, he will not understand its importance unless he actually feels that his money in that platform is in danger, and therefore setting examples will help a lot.
In fact, reading can take most of our time that’s why most traders did not bother to read a lot of books but spend their time watching trading videos using demo account. I think that is way better than just mere reading. But of course, we also need to read to gain knowledge before entering trading but practical training is way  more important because it will enhance our passion in trading and hone our skills and strategies. That way, you will understand that trading is really hard but with sufficient knowledge and skills, you will lessen its risk and may still trade successfully at the end of the day.
1040  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Not about to give up hope. on: April 02, 2023, 10:38:48 AM
Lesson of the day, do not over invest on one altcoin, even if you can't find any traces of scam or untrusty team do not conclude that your money will be safe in an altcoin, the risk is too big than you could ever imagine. Diversify into more than two altcoins, this will automatically reduce your risk.

I would say, Just don't trust altcoins unless you are ready for the stress.
What did people take away from the events that happened? For those who did not lose a lot, there was a good lesson not to trust the storage of their assets on the exchanges; perhaps this was a sign from above. But those who have suffered huge losses probably need psychological help, and maybe many will not return to this sphere, and the rest will be very careful. When investing your money in anything other than Bitcoin, wherever it is stored, you need to be on your guard early, and it is not recommended for the faint of heart to take risks.
Just to avoid high risks at all cost, then only invest in bitcoin and stay away from altcoins. Diversification does not mean that you have to invest both in bitcoin and in altcoins, you will still lose if you follow that. But if you invest in bitcoin, and then invest also in gold, real estate or stocks, that means you will likely to generate more income aside from bitcoin. However, losing is still inevitable in all types of investments, that’s why never invest above your means or invest only an amount you can manage to lose.
