1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 11, 2023, 11:47:20 AM
Just like Lomachenko, he also preferred to have a safer bout rather than pursuing the fight and suffer the consequence later. I believe Keith Thurman had the same vision as that fight was just their comeback fight, not a huge comeback that we expected but I guess they are just taking their time to adjust from their inactivity. Their upcoming fight will determine if their comeback bout was already saying it all or not.
They are lucky to have this big comeback as the win here will surely put them on the top. Especially for Thurman who is not a champion anymore but still think he can go toe to toe against the champions in this division, no belts, it's quite unfair, but that's how it is, as long as Thurman wins, then he'll just thread what's next for him which I believe a very good future.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 11, 2023, 11:17:51 AM
Two straight losses for the LA Clippers at home. I thought they'll at least give the Bucks a good game, but just like what happen against Dallas, they struggle again and lose by a huge margin. I don't know what happen to Leonard, why are they giving him a lot of rest, I'm just disappointed because it cost me money, I would be fine if it was a close game though.

1163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 10, 2023, 09:50:43 PM
Farmers who have chickens for eggs especially on a large scale, easily get tired of eating the eggs from their chickens or even eggs in general. Caterers get tired of eating their own pastries, just as people who are exposed to certain produce get tired of them due to over exposure. Do you think this experience is the same for casino owners and owners of sports betting platforms?

Do you think that the owners of casinos and sports betting platform, gamble as much as other people do? If they gamble, do you think they gamble on their platform?

I do think some of them gamble, but not for profits of course, perhaps to get closer to the people that matters most, like high-rollers or people of influence in the government. Connections basically, is what would possibly drive them to gamble even inside their own casinos. Then again there's also the case of observing your competitors, so some owners may find themselves gambling in a different casino just to see what they are doing different in hopes of topping it off or maybe even copying the same strategy in theirs. Ultimately I can also see scouting for new games to include in their game roster as a reason why these owners may gamble. There's a lot of reasons why you as an owner would gamble, whichever it is, it's not solely for money, and most certainly not to just waste time.
You are right there. These owners would not want to gamble for profits but to establish a bond on their players because that’s also part of showing them good customer service. Because if the owner itself knows how to handle the customers, most likely the business will grow more. And it’s a fact that there are times they want to explore some other casino platforms so they can compare their own casino to the other casinos. Not that they just want to copy their strategies being applied, but it’s also part of the competition that they should always make an edge over other casinos.
1164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the two most effective pieces of advice you could give crypto investors on: February 10, 2023, 08:54:48 PM
Never try timing the market bottom

I have tried to time the bottom in the past and failed woefully, this is impossible to target even if you are a master of the crypto charts you will always miss, the best solution to this is dollar cost averaging.

This is the one am going to work on myself. I find it difficult buying at once i think it will change direction. I feel regrets whenever I look at where i could have entered a trade or left it and see how it did not change in my direction. Apart from me struggling with this which I plan to overcome, my advice to other crypto investors from your question is never to trust anyone in a hurry. Let them prove their honesty first because there are alot of scammers in cryptocurrency.
Actually, when you’re in trading or investing, you don’t have to trust other people but only yourself. That is why if you decide to invest, make sure you have all the knowledge and skills required to make a successful investment, otherwise you will only see investing as a trial and error method because you enter it without enough preparation.

As for my advices for newbies here, first is to always invest on your spare money, and invest only in bitcoin because it’s the most profitable crypto investment that has been proven by all crypto investors in this community.
1165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The 4 trading fears and how to overcome them on: February 10, 2023, 07:57:34 PM
By managing risks, having a clear exit strategy, and avoiding the temptation of FOMO, traders can overcome their fears and become successful. By embracing these fears, traders can make informed decisions, capitalize on opportunities and achieve their trading goals.
Yes, your suggestions to overcome all types of fear are sounding like a complete and practical ones for all beginners in crypto trading. In my experiences, if you want to trade confidently then you must need enough experiences and if you are really have seen similar market scenarios previously then you will never get afraid of it and can easily find right timing for good profits. It means knowledge and experiences are playing good role in overcoming fear factors.

Moreover, automate the trading process is kind of engaging bot to trading might be working only for few market conditions as one trading strategy cannot cover all different market conditions. I agree botting will help to overcome the fear but may not remain profitable through out years.
If you are a newbie in trading, you cannot expect to overcome all these fears because you are still on your own way of accumulating more knowledge and experience which will make you a good trader in the making. So just take it slowly and let yourself lose in trading, commit mistakes and be frustrated, because that’s the reality in trading. You will not learn to overcome those fears unless you never experience it. Eventually, when you have been trading for years and you have gained enough experiences already, then you would be able to slowly overcome them because you are now confident in your trading activities.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have intended to stop gambling on: February 10, 2023, 06:58:16 PM
I haven't tried to stop but because it's not a problem for me. I play little, with low amounts, being aware that the odds are against me, and always with money I can afford to lose. I take it as an entertainment expense, with the difference that from time to time I come out with more money than I put in.

So, I don't have to set out to stop, and in fact, there are seasons when I don't gamble, simply because I don't feel like it or because I'm busy and don't even think about it.
Well, if this is your attitude towards gambling, I guess even if you keep on losing your money, that won’t be a problem because you are just gambling for fun, and not to gain serious amount of money. But honestly, even if I’m aware that the odds are against me, I’m still gambling for profits, not just for fun alone. The reason why I keep trying my luck especially in lottery, because once you end up hitting the lucky numbers, that will eventually change your life as the jackpot prize amount is certainly huge.
1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: February 09, 2023, 09:59:16 PM
US dollar is the world accepted currency and can be used as a medium of exchange.  In the crypto world, Bitcoin is the most popular and the highest accepted currency with greater value. Different countries have permitted bitcoin for transaction and many of them are thinking so and will eventually do so. Its acceptance is gradually increasing day by day. Do you think bitcoin will be the leader of the world’s currency market like US dollar in the future?Huh
I don’t think bitcoin will be chosen for that position seeing that most of the government are against from the perception of bitcoin. I would rather accept the challenge that it could be a global currency in the future but will never reach to the point of replacing US dollar from leading the world currency market. But nevertheless, maybe in the future it might be possible once the government will become more open-minded and will accept the fact that bitcoin is more useful and beneficial than fiat.
1168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 09, 2023, 09:27:09 PM
As you mentioned, you've missed bull runs and bear markets before, and my question is do you realize you've missed them because the truth is the market isn't that easy to predict. So I would answer I don't know, and I don't know where the market is going next, and it could go up and it could go down and anything could happen because of some unknown factor.
and my advice is better hold your coin or bitcoin when there is a decline or and take advantage of this decline to accumulate and hold it, because if you believe the market or bitcoin will go back up even though you don't know for sure. There's nothing wrong with you taking advantage of this moment and when the price goes up you can sell it, and be patient so that you sell at the right time and are also very profitable.
I guess OP might be somewhat regretting nowadays because he keep on missing opportunities to sell and make profits way back then, that’s why he want a change this time hoping that he could perfectly sell for a huge profits. But the problem is it’s never predictable when is the best time to sell or what particular price we need to sell. As selling is an individual’s choice, so we have to analyze and think of it a hundred times if this is the right time to sell or we just need more DCAing and just decide to sell when we see a new ATH is achieved.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 08:59:14 PM
3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss
When I was addicted, I tried to gamble more if I am losing, but also when I have gained a lot. There are days I would have gained so much, but continue to gamble as it is enjoyable and I will lose more at the end of the day. Be it if losing or winning, you will gamble more if you are a compulsive gambler.
That’s how probably compulsive gamblers are. Regardless if you win or lose at the end of the day, the irresistible urge to gamble again will always be there. And for me, once your actions become out of your own control, that is a warning that needs immediate response, because if that will be tolerated and ignored, you will eventually end up as a gambling addict and might need a serious rehab for you to recover.
1170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 09, 2023, 08:27:28 PM
They definitely have their issues, but if I were to need to pick an exchange that I would trust, it would most likely be the top ones. At least rather than those exchanges with non-public team members.

Of course as always, withdraw your funds if you're not trading them and yadda yadda.
Well, exchanges have their inevitable issues no matter how reputable they are, not because of their own services or actions, but for some reasons, it’s the gamblers themselves that have their own issues and they just put their blame on the exchanges. However, although it’s not right to trust centralized exchanges for our coins or funds, but for starters, it would be better to trust first those top exchanges in the market when they start trading and eventually transfer their coins the moment they start to establish their own wallet.
1171  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 08, 2023, 09:40:45 PM
Or better yet, have multiple income streams. Just so you have a backup if you get fired from your job or your main income goes bust.
Yes. If we can have multi sources of income, that will make our finances more stable and secured rather than just focusing on a single source of income alone. Moreover, on the part of your friend, if his mindset will stay that way, he will never land a job easily and have his own income. People who are in bad situation should never care if their jobs are low paid as long as they can earn an income from it, rather than having no income at all. Besides, he’s a family man so he should always have the means to support his family, especially his wife who is very ill at the moment.
1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 07, 2023, 09:58:45 PM
This is the reality of using Bitcoin. Bitcoiners like to believe that governments can't stop Bitcoin because they themselves wouldn't quit if their government banned it, but an average person would very likely quit because to them it's just not worth the risk. If all governments in the world decided to ban Bitcoin like they once decided to ban drugs, Bitcoin would be just a currency of darknet markets and not a "financial revolution".
Sometimes it’s just safe to follow the rules of the government than to make your own rules and you become instantly the target of the government. So my advice is just to stop accepting crypto in your business temporarily so you will not be reported by your neighborhood that you are going against the government. But do not stop on buying and accumulating bitcoin as your investment because it will surely be a hit investment of all time, rather than seeing it as a legal currency.
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 05, 2023, 12:02:07 PM
Magsayo is a KO artist too and take note that most of his KO win are done in the Featherweight.

We have to consider that the Featherweight division is Magsayo's comfortable weight zone. Figueroa, on the other hand, is quite new here. I know that about 4 lbs difference from 122 to 126 isn't that gap but the fact that some additional training is needed in order to keep up in shape to 126, the adjustment is needed in Figueroa's case wherein on the other hand, Magsayo doesn't need any adjustment but rather just continue to improve his performance.

Magsayo wants to get back again at the list of title holders that's why he will surely be aggressive to win.
Yeah I know, but Magsayo last few winnings doesn't always win via KO, although both fighters ever fight with Julio Ceja, when Ceja fight with Figueroa the fight end in draw but when Ceja fight with Magsayo, Magsayo win via KO. But Julio Ceja haven't fight for 2 years before he met Magsayo, not sure if it's a valid reason because Ceja wss really bad in that's match, he was fall in the first round.

But I still think Figueroa has more advantage, he was fight many good boxers in super bantamweight.

I would like to emphasize the fight of Magsayo against Ceja, it was really Ceja who is winning the fight, it's just that Magsayo found a good counter shot that hurt Ceja and eventually knock him down. If Ceja was careful that time, he might end up winning via upset, so Magsayo really not that good, he needs to improve his stamina and his boxing skills to get par with the champs.
1174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 05, 2023, 11:12:30 AM
Trading can be a lonely and boring business at some point because, you do not have anyone to talk to and are just alone with your computer, phone, or tablet in your room, just trading. And many newbies may at some point think that they are probably wasting too much of their time. If you are in this situation right now, I want you to know that you are not wasting your time.

If you are an experienced trader reading this, how did you know that you were not wasting your time trading at the time when you felt this way?

Yes it's quite boring because it's not easy, but I know I'm not wasting my time in trading since I'm fulfilling my goal here. We have the same goal and that is to be profitable, actually it doesn't need to be fun as long as you make money as you can consider trading as your money machine and have fun outside your trading life.

Just focus on your dreams, and eventually you will realize that it's okay to sacrifice now so in the future you'll just spend the rest of your life having a vacation anywhere you wants.
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 05, 2023, 10:24:05 AM
I just hate to think about some negativities as there could be some problems along the way, knowing that Fulton's promoter, Al Haymon is unpredictable.

Actually, both promoters are unpredictable and can ruin the possibility of this to happened. For now, it's good that it's almost a done deal.

I hope though that no such thing as sudden bad news will happen on the way or else, we won't witness one of the best fights this year. Just recently, Moloney vs Donaire failed to materialize even though the probability for that to happen is almost at 100%.

I hope this fight won't end up like that.

I just found out today as well that the Donaire-Moloney fight will not happen anymore because Moloney's camp has withdrawn from the invitation without any information disclosed, right? So for now, WBC is finding another boxer to replace Moloney's place to fight at the WBC belt that was vacated by Inoue.

I've searched for some names that is in the WBC's rankings and a name of Emmanuel Rodriguez [21W (13 KOs)- 2L (1 KO)] popped as the nearest candidate and possible dancing partner. If he will be named, it's safe to assume that Donaire will have a quite easy journey in holding the title again.

Emmanuel Rodriguez would be happy to fight Donaire because Donaire beat Gaballo, the fighter who beat him in a controversial fight, so if  Emmanuel Rodriguez will beat Donaire, that would be hitting 2 birds with one stone for him, he does not need to fight Gaballo again. Well, Donaire might be the favorite here but I don't want to underestimate Rodriguez because he is a decent fighter too.
1176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 05, 2023, 09:50:23 AM
That is a recommendation from the casino for people before they register at the casino. Still, I don't think that those people will take the time to read but will register immediately so they can immediately deposit their money and play gambling games. Casinos provide advice like that because they have a responsibility to gamblers even though it will return to each gambler. If a gambler can be wise in gambling, he will not spend too much money, let alone use money that exceeds the limit. He will manage his money to gamble and will stop when he feels he has had enough gambling.
IMO, it's not necessary to read because if you are a responsible person, you already know the risk of gambling, and of course the possibility of what will happen to you if you will not gamble responsibly. A good example of irresponsible gamblers is those gamblers who are having big debts because they can't control their addiction, and eventually, they'll become homeless.
1177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 12:02:10 PM
^ Ya, that is crazy news that Kyrie has formally requested a trade with only a short time before the trade deadline. It isn’t totally unexpected though. KD hasn’t been healthy, Ben Simmons is a mess, and Kyrie wants to win championships. I think he needs LeBron. We’ll see what happens but I’m sure Lakers fans everywhere are hoping that a Kyrie for Westbrook trade happens. I can’t imagine it does for many reasons, but I’m not sure who is in a position to trade for Kyrie.
That would be a great deal for the Lakers if that happens but usually, we get to see these trades that are favoring the team that will be left or traded for.
This is an exciting developing story and if the rumors are true then there's an increased chance for the Lakers to be seen continuing to play together with Lebron but, it's on them to do the deal.
The question is if the Brooklyn Nets will agree with it. I mean, it's Westbrook and I do think Kyrie Irving is still more valuable than him especially when it comes to being dominating on both inside and outside shooting. Kyrie can definitely shoot and make successful isolation plays.
The Lakers should make the deal sweeter or there won't be any trade discussion that could happen.

If I'm not mistaken, the Nets management are willing to let go of Irving years ago, after he doesn't want to take the vaccine because of his own belief. And it really throw them off as obviously he can't play that time as the NBA mandated everyone to get a vaccine.

And then the whole statement of him, his anti-Semitic stance that cause him a 5 game suspension.

It just so happen that he looks valuable because there is no Kevin Durant and he become the main man. And with that, I think teams are reluctant to discuss trade talks involving Kyrie, in my opinion.

I think Irving is really good, Durant cannot win also without Irving, remember the last playoffs when they were beating teams, including the Bucks whom they dominated in the first 2 games, but when Irving was injured in game 3, things have changed and that resulted to Nets losing to the Bucks in a 6 game series if I'm not mistaken.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 04, 2023, 11:11:17 AM

NLEX has a game tonight against Phoenix, maybe the last game of Simmons before leaving for good and for me fulfilling his promise of 4 wins before he leaves is doable so i'm taking this NLEX ML @1.47 right now as there are no other beautiful odds to bet at the moment.

I have other plans, hehe.. sorry I'm going against your bet. I'm betting on Simmons not being able to fulfill his promise, so I'm with the Phoenix on underdog odds. They are +6.5 and 3.25 for ML. Anyway, may the best team wins, though I'm not so interested in this game, but no choice, I have to feel some action while watching the game.

Very risky, but who knows, right? it will be depending on how the team will play and how they will execute the design play for today, not going to take part in this game but I will watch it and see if how these teams will compete. Simmons might fulfil his promise or maybe Phoenix will stand up and will try to win it against them.

May the best team to win from both of you and for those who are silent readers/bettors here.

The good thing about this game is that it's a close game now, either team could win, but we know NLEX is the better team so far based on their record. Anyway, let's enjoy this game as it's not like the past few games where it's only a one sided game. Good luck to betters on different sides.

It was once a close game but NLEX exploded in the 4th quarter and leave the Phoenix no chance to beat them. They could have made it an exciting game when they have a 9-0 run, but multiple miss shots lead to a losing game. Congratualtions to Simmons, he nailed it, that 4 wins promised was fulfilled.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 09:36:45 AM

Yeah, everyone was trap on the Celtics big time, we didn't expect the Phoenix team to just steam roll on the number 1 in the East and this is what in their homecourt? what a disappointment for Celtics fans and for those who bet on them.
Sometimes we have to be a bit wary when picking a team to bet with, when it looks like it will win easily, most likely it's a losing bet. After this lose, they were coming from a blowout win, so bettors was probably hyped with their past performance.

I didn't catch on the Wizards vs Blazers game, but if that is the case, then definitely it's a ugly lost for them. On the contrary, Blazers are hot after their performance against the Memphis and it seems they are becoming a road team now.
Yeah, even without Nurkic, they are still winning games. And actually, they are moving the ball well now, so they are very unpredictable. Lillard would stay consistent, while his supporting cast will do their respective jobs as well, this time it was Simons who was hot in the 3 point area.
1180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - take profits or continue to DCA? on: February 04, 2023, 07:03:39 AM

We are still in the early days, it's not even 2024 yet in time for having but the price is already going up. Although there may be a correction soon, you may want to wait for it.

There may be some who are talking profits and then wait for a dip and then buy back, it takes skills to do it but doable. Continue DCA that's what many of us will say. We will see prices beating the last ATH.

The next bitcoin halving is still a year after so we should not resort into panicking and pressuring ourselves to start selling rather than continue to do DCA. Yes, the price may have seen increasing slightly these days but if we want to sell for profits, we should still wait for more price surges or wait for a new ATH to come so we can sell immediately and expect high returns. For now, DCA would still be the best option, as the price may suddenly drops back and fall again seeing the market is still in a bearish season.
