1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 09:54:15 PM
I am not aware of these charity casinos, its highly recommended to play on these casinos and if ever they create an announcement I will fully support this kind of casino, we will not feel bad if we ever lose money because we are helping people in need, in my country our lottery is being managed by our government and a big portion of the profit goes to charitable institutions for the poorest in our country, that is why the majority of people in our country are supporting it betting on it because they never know if they will be the next to ask for help in the institutions that benefit from these lotteries.
But even if they are charity-based casinos they should build their reputation, pay winners and address issues.
Here in our country, although I have not heard some profitable casinos but the profits from betting on lottery here will go to charities and that would mean helping those people who are very unfortunate and who have not given opportunities so they can somehow improve their way of living. That’s the reason why I never regret from betting in lottery even if I only end up from consistent losing because I know the money will only go to the people are who needing so badly.
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin with Tiffin money of my college life. on: February 03, 2023, 09:30:17 PM
Never leave you coins on an exchange, Binance is an exchange. To have full control over your asset, use noncustodial wallet. Cold wallets are safest wallet type.

Exactly what I wanted to say.

If you value your money, then do not leave it in the hands of someone who is not you. And do not leave it in a wallet, like that of an crypto exchange. Because the reason is that you would not be the only person who has access to that wallet. In the case of crypto exchanges, you are trusting them with your money. This goes against the very nature and concept of cryptocurrency, which is TO BE YOUR OWN BANK.

But people still do it. And they think nothing bad will happen to them until it finally does happen.
For amateurs like OP, it’s understandable that they would likely to trust centralized exchanges than their own wallet but until they start losing, that’s when they realized that exchanges are not safe at all. So hopefully, you should create your own wallet OP so you can have the full control of your own money. That way, when that exchange will be hack or whatever in the future who knows, your funds will never get lost from you. You should have thought that before trusting an exchange.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: February 02, 2023, 12:05:42 PM
Greetings, esteemed community. Could you help me advise? I've seen a lot of topics on the forum about crypto or bitcoin casinos, but I need clarification on their point. As I understand the crypto casino involves paying in different cryptocurrencies, and the bitcoin casino involves only bitcoins. How to choose a casino, is there a criterion for this, or do you just go to any casino and play? It's a rash move without preparation. Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? I apologize for my silly questions, but I want to understand everything once and for all.
Go to the gambling board. Look at the list of casinos. Choose one that has been around for a very long time and has very good reputation. If you want to try some new casinos, make sure you choose a licensed casino, not some randomly newly popped up casino. Look for casinos that has good support system and strong security. You almost might want to play on casinos that will allow you to make fast deposit and almost instant withdrawals. If you haven't, you can try CryptoGames.
You can ask too some of your trusted friends what casinos they mostly prefer to play so you will have an idea which casino is good to go. And have your own experience of course so you can judge on your own if that certain casino has passed your standards or not. Because there are instances that your friends may have been satisfied with that certain casino, but when you try playing on it, you find it odd and you’re not even satisfied with the casino services. The reason why you have to experience it all by yourself and not just rely from random suggestions because some may be reliable, some are not.
1184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A reminder to all new Bitcoin investors on: February 02, 2023, 08:46:08 AM
the main ones i remember was

"email wont catch on" - postal service
"digital photos wont catch on" - kodak film
Hahaha so true, as I was there to witness how postal service and Kodak film were so in demand but with the unstoppable emergence of this new technology, emails and digital photos are now already the trend, those postal service and Kodak film are already considered antiques. Same with bitcoin, it’s blockchain technology is already more beneficial these days compared to traditional banks whose services are slow in action.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 02, 2023, 08:21:40 AM
Aren't they supposed to keep their financial advice to themselves if they don't want to be a financial advisor? Yeah, I think the perfect way to stay away from been a financial advisor is to keep your ideas to yourself, don't say a word about it.
...
Oh, I almost forget, it pays to be a YouTuber, you need a niche to talk about per se,
You have the question and the answer.
YouTubers and "influencers" are paid to shill projects to their audience and hope they buy into it. And you don't assume someone to be a financial advisor cause they made a couple of videos talking about the potential outcome of an investment. On this forum price speculation is talked about a lot, and we discuss what the future of Bitcoin is going to be, that doesn't make the users here advisors, does it?

You can't expect people to stop doing what they profit from, you can only advice investors to do their own research.
And you can’t stop the noobs from following their favorite crypto YouTubers. But as long as they also do the research, that will safeguard them to avoid the dont’s in crypto investing. Btw, YouTubers are paid to shill or hype the project they are about to promote, so we can’t blame them also if they also do their part as that what makes them become profitable. Just like us, we always prefer to do what we think will give us good returns in the end.
1186  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: February 01, 2023, 09:42:17 PM
Your successes over the past five years: How well have you managed to increase the balance on your account during this time? Or have you lost everything? Tell me your story.

It's not just cryptocurrency that unites us all. We all became different after we learned about her, and went deeper into her knowledge. And now, even if someone is not very lucky to increase their deposit, then you probably have accumulated experience, and you can share it.
I can say that it’s working well, I have contributed much to the welfare of my family and I can already buy those things that I just dream in the past. And I think these are really some great achievements in my life, as I only started from a scratch until I make use all my experiences gained and turn them being profitable. Although I have also endure losses every now and them, but I’m more thankful because I a more blessed with profits than losses.
1187  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: February 01, 2023, 09:18:00 PM
When the price of staple products goes up, it will be difficult to go down, there are always moments that trigger an increase in product prices, for example inflation, necessities of life such as electricity, clean water, and so on. This is what we must anticipate from now on, namely by continuing to look for sources of income so that not stress with rising prices of basic necessities.
Once the basic commodities prices start rising up, I don’t think it will ever drop again. And just settle with thinking that inflation is here for good, so we all need to expect prices surging from time to time. This is the best time not to depend on sole source of income, but rather go out from your comfort zone and explore the outside world where you can still make use of your skills and capacities in exchange for good compensation. That way, you will never keep on complaining why there are always sudden price increase, because you have prepared for it already. And most likely, you might be prospering instead as you already have multi sources of income that will provide your needs.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So far so good with Bitcoin adoption on my side but I have question on: February 01, 2023, 08:17:02 PM
I wish there is a way that I can show families on here how successful I have bring numbers of people into Bitcoin between 2021 - 2023, it's been so great and I am very happy about it, I have fresh newbies at hand right now,  two of them are from the same university 🎓, I have spent 6 weeks with them teaching and answering questions about Bitcoin and wallets, now they decide to purchase their first set of Bitcoin.

Here is where I am confused, the present value of Bitcoin is growing, some said it's because of the Chinese New year Holiday aka Year of the Rabbit, since I got mine at 17,000 and 15,000 I feel it's wrong to tell these newbies to buy at 23,000$

Have I done the right thing by telling them to wait for some correction before buying or you famz have a better idea? Because right now I don't see anything thing better than to wait, double bottom is always possible with Bitcoin in bear markets.
Yes, there’s no wrong telling them to wait for some correction before buying, but never meddle on what price they should start buying. As long as they are aware enough to buy at a low price and sell when the price is high, then let them decide on their own when to best buy. After all, you don’t hold guarantees if the market will pump or drop its price right after they bought. Just when they thought about the market volatility, I assumed they should have prepared for it before buying.
1189  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 31, 2023, 09:56:11 PM

Recently I have had numerous reunions with Uncles from my extended family. Some of them are successful businessmen for decades. They built their business from nothing and are living quite a comfortable life now. We had long conversations about life in general, including their key to success. I knew very well that they have been hard workers ever since I had a memory so I would contribute their success to endless efforts. However, one thing they had mentioned in common was luck. They believe pure luck made them meet and grasp those opportunities and become successful rather than their smartness and efforts. I've thought about this before and couldn't agree with this more. They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.
Luck is just one factor for success, the rest should be fill with hardwork and effort. Imagine if all people will just rely on luck alone, people will end up being lazy and will have no life’s direction since they are only waiting for luck to take control of their life. But if you always put into action all your desires and aspirations in life, you always work and prosper on it, then luck might probably come in end which will finally lead you to a successful path. That’s why we need not only luck, but also work and action.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My son, daughter, nephew wants to know about Bitcoin on: January 29, 2023, 11:54:17 AM
I'm sure it's not hard to educate them if they have the interest to learn. As long as they have access on the internet, everything will be easy as most if not all of the information are available online. Me, I'm a professional but there's no one educated me about bitcoin, I learned it my own, and I use my curiosity to drive me do the research it the internet.

I suggest that you let them do the hard work and just give them guidance along the way so they will not be mislead and might end up investing in PONZI scheme.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 29, 2023, 11:27:08 AM
We have a very rare betting odds in the first game.

Converge 1.64 vs Magnolia 2.17.

I don't know what's the reason behind, but usually Magnolia is the favorites.
Are they playing without import? Anyone knows some information regarding this game?

We don't know the reason, probably because Converge has a good record so far. And as far as the game is concerned, Converge is still leading the game now. They lead double digit but Magnolia is not giving up though. Good to the bettors of Magnolia ML, they still have a chance to win.

The line says the winner, and yes that's what happened because even if you don't look at the game, you will understand that everyone will be betting on Magnolia to win, come on, they are the better team and yet listed as underdog. I'm glad that I did not get tempted betting on them, if they have lost before this game, I might get tempted, but it's their first game and their import played very well.

Congratulations to to the takes of converge ML, you have a great night.

@danherbias07, congrats, nice timing for the live betting.

You got great odds for Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics, didn't know they were down huge because I didn't see the game.
Lebron is still consistent, scored 41 huge points but it's not enough to win.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 28, 2023, 02:07:23 PM
Another win for NLEX, they are now 2-0. What a great start for their conference, but there's a sad news as their import was only contracted for 4 games, after that, I don't know, maybe NLEX will bring a new import. They beat the Northport, and still not Bollick playing for that team.  Sad
Any news on to why Bollick isn't playing with the NorthPort. I mean they need him obviously in terms of offense.
I don't know, I think his camp choose not to play him as he will be traded soon.
This article says he might play agianst Meralco but he did not show up until, it also said that he has a hamstring injury.

https://tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/bolick-to-miss-northport-vs-converge-match-as-extension-talks-hit-standstill/260216

Yes the current import now of NLEX will only play for the first 4 games and after that, he will fly to China to play there so maybe at this moment, they are already looking for a replacement import that will replace Simmons after his 4th game. It's a good thing though that the former NBA player shared some good things in our league like how the physicality is and how players are playing is far more than he expected. Good start for the NLEX. It looks like MVP teams are trying to redeem themselves after an early exit last Commissioners' Cup.

On the first game, the TerraFirma Dyip manages to defeat the Meralco Bolts 96-89. A bit surprising if you will ask me because we always see the Dyip losing.
Tiongson lead the team in scoring with 30 points followed by their import Williams with 29. This is what a team can do if the import gets enough help from the local players.

Yes, I was thinking that Meralco will once again dominate their opponent, but DYIP surprise them.
It was a low scoring game but Mcdaniels still able to tally a big production, 29 points and 19 rebounds. I know that their import is good but he also need a support from the locals.

1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 28, 2023, 01:01:00 PM

The money is really going to flow in this fight and could be one of the biggest for the year.

That's expected because it's an anticipated fight, I mean, fans are waiting for a fight that are both champions and are almost equal in skills. So this fight is one of those, although Davis is a slight favorite but that does not change the fact that we have divided fans here, which means the fight is really exciting to watch.

A trilogy would be fine though as long it will always result to a close fight.
1197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 28, 2023, 04:59:31 AM
ChatGPT isn't a trading tool, it's simply just create a random paragraph from an article or someone thought, if you think ChatGPT is credible and you can trust your money with this bot, I have no words to say for you.

There are many people really want to make money quickly without doing anything, but most people are just stupid for believe anything about automatic tool or robot trading that they think it will work without any understanding behind the tool.
ChatGPT is never designed for trading as it can only be a natural language processing tool and can never be trusted enough to make a successful trading. Unlike with our own intellect and built skills and strategies, we can rely for them so we will be aware if the market is good enough to trade or not. ChatGPT can be helpful in some tasks like if you are in teaching and learning scenario, but for trading, it’s hard to predict and analyze the market if the market alone is very unpredictable.
1198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone living with older people? on: January 27, 2023, 08:59:05 PM
Why do you want to educate them? There's probably no need or reason to...

I made a post on here a while ago about how someone could teach a child about crypto and I think the same strategy applies: find something they're interested in and go at it from that angle or wait for them to learn about it themselves. With the second one, for older people, you might be able to change the media they focus on to do this as a lot of mainstream media include news segments on cryptocurrency (right wing media doesn't afaik) and economics or business related media don't. If your grandparents don't have any interest in investing, business or technology, it might be a lost cause unless you can find a way to make them interested in it...
It’s hard to educate people and change their mindset when their minds are already closed about it and chose to believe the other way around. So instead of trying to educate them, why not just let them see your proofs  that you are really in profits with bitcoin. It’s not that you will expose your bankroll to them, but create a project instead that will make them believe that bitcoin is legit and will provide huge profits as long as you focus on how to be successful on it.
1199  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 27, 2023, 08:33:20 PM
The massive awareness to keep bitcoins for as long as possible promotes people to develop the attitude of saving, just like saving money. Do you agree with this that people who are very good at saving money become very good at keeping bitcoins when they finally start doing cryptocurrency? Or do you feel that there is no similarity between keeping bitcoins and keeping money?
Though bitcoin and fiat are different, but the practice of saving fiat and saving bitcoin is just the same. You would not be successful saving bitcoin if you are not used to saving money in the first place, so that creates more positive outcome if you yourself knows how to keep your money properly in the long run. If you can be good in saving money, then most likely you’ll also turn to be a keeper of bitcoin for good.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to invite 1 of my friends to invest in bitcoin on: January 26, 2023, 09:23:21 PM
Probably a bit too hasty. In the first place, how confident are you that you gave your "friend" correct/accurate information? Knowing that you said yourself that you're still a beginner.
Yes, he must be very eager to extend his help in the sense that he created hasty decision. But I would also say that the seller itself is kinda reckless too that he immediately trusted someone about this risky bitcoin investment not knowing that it could make him lose everything if he completely invest in bitcoin without sufficient knowledge and skills needed when investing in bitcoin.
