1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 07:35:58 AM
^ An important game for them (the Lakers) tomorrow as they go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who they are tied with for the last play-in tournament spot along with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers winning this game would give them a little separation and maybe take off a little of the pressure of not making the play-in tournament at least.
Indeed, it's going to be a tough game as OKC is also trying to secure their chance in the play-in tournament. The only advantage the Lakers have is their home court advantage because I believe OKC is the better team overall. I'm not sure, but I think I like to bet on the road team just to go against the public.
I would still follow the trend, although you are right that OKC is probably the better team. The Lakers have won most of their games at home, so we can expect them to play harder at home and try to beat OKC, who is their rival in the play-in qualification.

The current lineup of the Lakers is good enough to beat OKC, in my opinion.
1062  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 23, 2023, 09:59:27 PM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions and it really affects thier decision making and sometimes it will become a reason for the big loss, in crypto we cannot be free from different emotions because everytime market condition is changing and it is really a high volatility market, i think experienced had a very big role on decision making, is this a reason why most of the newbie loss is it because they don't have enough of experience?
Controlling our emotions will always be hard as we are used that in everything we do, we always consider our own emotions. But in trading, the more you use your emotions, the bigger chances you’ll keep on losing. Most particularly if you lack the knowledge and experiences that you need as a trader. That’s the reason why new traders should never trade unless they are ready, mentally and emotionally. Otherwise, if they still insist to trade because of greed for profits, their money will just go into waste and end up losing them.
1063  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking loan for investment can be life threatening on: March 23, 2023, 09:36:05 PM
Yes, it’s really life threatening especially if you have no means to pay for it. I guess you worry a lot, which I also understand because your uncle might lost everything more than he knew it. And with that, there’s nothing you can do but prepare for the future losses. This might teach your uncle to never trust anyone especially when huge amount of money is at risk. There’s nothing you can do about it, but to wait for the result before you take a new action that will make him recover his losses. Maybe this time, your uncle will be more cautious about the risk.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 08:54:02 PM
Most of the time I play Blackjack & Dice.  I have always noticed that when I bet a large amount I am a loser when it comes to Dice.  Also in case of Blackjack when I bet big amount I get wrong card due to which I lose the bet. On the other hand when I bet small amount I win in case of Dice and if I bet small amount multiple times I win multiple times.  In Blackjack, when I bet small amounts, I am always get good cards and win the bets. Thus the cycle continues.  I have noticed that it is not an easy thing to withdraw from having achieved something great. I always gamble for fun with small amounts and lose them but I don't care. But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?

It depends on which site you are gambling on and if that site is using provably fair algorithm where you can verify the output yourself.
If they are not doing it then there are chances that the site might be cheating you.
How did you lose all the $1k in just one day. At least you should have played with 25% of the amount and kept the rest for other days.
Sometimes it's just about the luck. It work one day and it might not on others.
With 25% amount you could have tried your luck on 4 days and go to know if the site is really cheating you or not.
Betting all in is never advisable if you can’t afford to lose it, as gambling never guarantees you to win in the end. Maybe cheating is really possible in some casinos but we can’t really tell as to how it can be done as most of the casino these days have already adopted a provably fair games that will allow the players to verify the fairness of their bets. So it’s hard to tell if there is really cheating or it’s only you who have suspected that there’s any. However, if you gamble responsibly at the beginning, you will never experience a huge loss.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can do better job opportunities if empower by government on: March 23, 2023, 08:27:27 PM
It is unrealistic to expect that governments or centralized financial organizations will readily accept Bitcoin. Even if they do, they are unlikely to fully embrace it and may even resist the crypto industry. While a handful of countries, such as El Salvador, have adopted cryptocurrencies, a closer examination reveals that they have not necessarily benefited greatly, particularly if the government decides to invest in Bitcoin. Therefore, other governments are likely to scrutinize the potential impact of adopting Bitcoin before making any decisions. It is important to note that significant changes will not occur overnight, and it will take a considerable amount of time for governments and centralized financial organizations to fully embrace and adapt to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin might increase job opportunities for jobless people if the government is open for new innovations and will support bitcoin instead of banning it. But I think it’s really hard for a centralized government to adopt a decentralized cryptocurrency especially if they can never control its existence. However, there’s always a positive chance that the government will start to support bitcoin in the future, we just need to wait for the government to embrace bitcoin as it may take long years of processing before it’s bound to happen.
1066  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which one would you rather work for on: March 22, 2023, 10:45:38 PM
Both are cryptocurrency exchanges so I guess the work demands will be similar but the environment may differ, so if I am to choose between binance and uni swap I will choose Binance.

This is because binance happened to be the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange and at that, the payment will be higher and there is will more room for me to develop, so I may base my choice on the above mention reasons.
I would also chose Binance over Uniswap, because there is clearly higher stability on the company itself, and to think that there are still more chances of development if Binance will continue to conquer the world as a crypto exchange. And of course, to see my career growth too as I am very positive that I can develop my best version when I am working in a stable and secure company.
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 22, 2023, 10:16:38 PM
Investing in Bitcoin or any other crypto has always been like wagering in a casino.
I would not describe bitcoin investments as the same as gambling in a casino. Ever heard the phrase “the house always win”? Casinos are designed in such a manner that the owners are always in profit even when you think you’re winning. Biycoin is decentralized so there is no owner or one body controlling the system, the same can’t be said for altcoins. One may describe buying altcoins as gambling because the risks are too great and historically there is a tendency of altcoins project to exit the market early.
Investing, as long as you are knowledgeable on the projects you plan to invest, no matter how risky it is, you can always lessen the risk and not to fall for investing like gambling. That’s the advantage we can get from bitcoin investment because you know you can rely from it since it’s a secure investment. Unlike investing with altcoins, it may fall like gambling as altcoins have no guarantees if they can still survive after years of hodling, or they will just end up as dead coins and lost their value. However, as long as investing is concerned, always invest with an amount you can afford to lose regardless of what investment it is.
1068  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 22, 2023, 09:56:37 PM
Emotions are a double-edged blade. For example, an emotion such as fear and anxiety may lead you to lose part of your investment. An emotion such as desire is what makes you invest in a high-risk investment. Otherwise, why not settle for the 5% that banks give you?
So I control feelings is the solution and not consider them an enemy.
Well, it’s more on easily said than done. Because when we are actually in the real market scenario, be it trading or investing, just when you see the market is not doing well, you will eventually feel your emotions become out of control, and the more your emotions become affected, the more chance you lose from your trades. That’s the reason if we can’t control our emotions, it’s best not to deal with a highly volatile market to avoid losses.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 09:28:40 PM
Slots is a game of chance or luck, you don't know what will be the next spin on the reel. And everything is based on RTP, and with that, most likely gamblers are going to lose their money on it. But the twist is that it's more fun to play with this slot machine games.

For Poker, yeah, there are professional pokers around the world, and this is more on the game of skill, you learn how to play with your cards, bluff your opponents or even read your opponents and guess what will be their card and so you will form your own strategy against them.
Well, we can’t deny that these games listed above certainly need luck so you can beat your opponents. However, with poker and blackjack, though these games require luck and chances, but they can be beaten more if you focus on your skill and develop your strategy to win. Unlike most of the casino games, blackjack and poker are more on skill and strategy, and you can maximize your returns or gains if you play them skillfully.
1070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Inadequate or Inspired After Watching These Types of Traders Content on: March 21, 2023, 10:12:16 PM
I can never felt intimidated, although that is me from when I have known about intimidation. I do not feel intimidated, life is not the same for everyone and someday may become mine. I try to focus on my trading and anything stupid thinking like intimidation may result into a failed trading.

I use to say this: if you are a trader, you have to do away with everything that can make your mindset to be of low or poor quality. Focus on yourself and how you can achieve your long term goal in life.

Among all, I am happy, there is nothing better than joy and happiness. The little I gained from trading is enough for me.
Being intimidated could lead to envy in the future, that’s why i honestly avoid it as much as I can. Instead, I just focus on improving my craft and helping myself grow in trading through engaging into different strategies and develop those who have potentials that will help me succeed in the future. However, if these are really happening, then I’m happy for them as much as I am happy with where I am right now.
1071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Word of encouragement for Bitcoin investors on: March 21, 2023, 09:50:52 PM
If a person needs words of encouragement to be able to hold on to their bitcoin, were they bullish in the first place?

If people are easily scared off their bitcoin holdings, let them sell. I'd gladly buy corn at cheaper prices.
I guess they should be aware about the risks in the first place that hodling bitcoin is never easy. So they should have developed positive mentality and the right mindset before engaging into bitcoin hodling. Otherwise, if they can’t bear the risks, I guess they should not be investing in the first place.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 19, 2023, 12:29:02 PM
NLEX is playing without an import, so I think this game will be a boring one, and it surely won't be a close one. Brownlee is so good in times like this, so most likely, Ginebra will win via a blowout. Anyway, I just took the -11, and hopefully, that will hit.
Yes, they are, and without an import, it means Ginebra has a very huge chance of winning. -11 is definitely achievable, as Ginebra can make a big run, and they might just get it in one quarter. I didn't expect this to happen to NLEX. They need their import, but he is not healthy, so they are going to war against the best in the PBA with an all-Filipino squad.

Well, this is a best of 3 series, maybe NLEX's import will be able to play in game 2.

20 points deficit coming to the 2nd half, if the trend continue and if NLEX unable to make a good rally then expect that spread will be covered, not sure though as we can't conclude unless the time is already runout and the final buzzer already ends the game. Just to add some fun, we know that a good working hands can change/manipulate the outcome of the game Tongue Roll Eyes just kidding but with the game tempo it's simply saying that Gin kings will win this game.

There's no chance for them, as Ginebra is just too good, and they are playing without an import. It's actually a gift for the bettors, especially those who bet before the game. I think the spread was below -10, so they should be happy now.

NLEX ML @13.00, who's brave enough to try this one? I'm not taking this but wait for the third quarter and see if i will see a good opportunity to bet on this game.

Not this time. I'm sure Ginebra won't allow NLEX to come back, as it might cost them a game.

1074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: March 19, 2023, 10:48:17 AM
In the current position of the Bitcoin market, it is not possible to cross $80k this year. as the market is dumping a lot at this time, it will definitely take some time to pump the market. The Bitcoin market may cross $80k in 2024 and is likely to reach $100,000. As per the current market position, the investment will definitely be very good. Investing and holding Bitcoin for a long period of time will yield profits in the future.
Almost everyone knows about the bullish trend of Bitcoin. As the long period of bearishness has created the confidence of the investors in the market. They are waiting and gradually the bearishness becomes stronger and turns into a bullish trend. But it is not possible to say whether it will be $80k or not. Because earlier ATH was $69K. According to it's history a big movement can be seen this year or next year.

Halving may have a good influence to bring the momentum to bullish again it can push the value to reach back the last time high o possible to break it and touch $80K, all are speculations and no one can really tell if the market will make it happen. It's more about how you anticipate and how you believe the market will reach this value.

It will happen once the momentum shows strong support and more investors and traders to throw money inside and allow it to flow to push it harder.

We have waited for more than a year to witness a bull run, so if it's going to happen this year, then most likely, $80k will be hit. It should be easy because it's expected that the new all-time high will be surpassed. The last bull run was in 2021 when Bitcoin hit $64k, so if we base it on that price, I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin hits $200k, as it not only doubles but sometimes rises more than 300%.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 19, 2023, 09:23:09 AM
Memphis Grizzlies VS Golden State Warriors

The stake odds for this game are 1.90 for the Grizzlies and 1.85 for the Warriors, Vince Williams Jr., and Steven Adams, can not play for the Grizzlies Ja Morant is still suspended, while Ty Jerome, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Wiggins, and Gary Payton II can not play for the Warriors, for this game I really don't know if the Grizzlies could step up for a win because the Warriors is having a crazy loss, but I think the Warriors will manage to win this because they got bad blood Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks because of his trash talking I think my pick is the Golden State Warriors,

I think it's high time we all move past this idea of the Golden State warriors getting a win on the road, and it doesn't matter if they are playing Boston Celtics or Detroit Piston, or even as mediocre as a team from the G-League, these clowns just can't get a win on the road, I believed playing the Atlanta Hawks or a Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies' would have been an easy way to dismiss that narrative, but here we are again, the fumbled it!

I'm probably done with them until the post season, I mean that's even if they manage to secure their spot for it.

Yeah, they have already cost us a lot of money, expecting that one day they'll be back to being the old Warriors who can dominate on the road. I don't understand the line movement in this particular game. It seemed like it was signaling that the Warriors would win, but what happened was a complete massacre for the team. Good thing I was able to bet live and took the Jazz to win with 3.40 odds. It made me profitable in the end.

I skipped the Warriors game, because I want to beat on them, but there are parts of me saying that it's going to be very difficult because of their road game records. It's a different Warriors team now, although the core remain but the second unit is not that strong anymore, so to be honest, I doubt that they can defend their crown for this year, just to be realistic. They could be the crowd favorite for us, but it might cost us more money losses, just saying.

Nice decision, otherwise you would have been one of the bettors who lost their money on this game. It wasn't even a close game - the 4th quarter was a disaster, as it looks like the Warriors got tired. So even without Morant and some key players, the home team was still able to dominate the Warriors. I'm afraid the defending champs might be at risk of getting into the play-in tournament.
1076  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you advice a new trader to join a trading community or group? on: March 18, 2023, 09:26:52 PM
Joining a trading community that is similar and transparent like this forum is good, although this forum trading discussion is not enough in my opinion.

Good for newbies to be careful of those telegram groups, many can lead to scam.

If the newbies already know how people can use trading services to scam and avoiding it and only believe in trading by himself, I do not see anything bad there for him not to join a trading group.

But a trader is best for himself when he do not depend on anyone or group or forum about trading.
I do not see wrong joining a legit trading community especially for beginner traders as it will open him to the realities of trading, and he can certainly learned from the experiences of other traders as long as the community or forum itself is transparent and no intentions to lure beginner traders. This is actually an advantage for them, but the bad thing is if these beginners will trade quickly because of greed of profits, once they will be tempted to use other trader’s strategies knowing some strategies may work for others but won’t work for them. It’s still best to trade on your own and learn on yourself.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 18, 2023, 01:19:22 PM
The match between the Hawks and the Golden State Warriors was interesting. As usual Stephen Curry was carrying the Warriors. I don't know if I should say that this was a bad performance from the Warriors. Because they definitely did not play that bad. I thought if another player could pull off a performance like Stephen Curry, The result come could have been different.

Personally, I think it was a good performance from the Hawks. They have played really well and also played as a team. They did not win just because of individual performance. Of course, they had good individual performances in that match but the reason why they won is because they performed well in both defense and offense.

That was a close game. The commentator said at the beginning to punish the Warriors in the paint for playing small ball, but it seems small ball is still effective. They just made some mistakes in the dying minutes. Overall, either team could have won, it only differed on the execution in the end. With the outcome, the Warriors losing streak continues.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 18, 2023, 12:45:39 PM
How about the second game - NLEX vs Ginebra? This is a best-of-three series, so it's going to be a good one. As of now, Ginebra is -6.5 to win. I think they will win, as Ginebra is destined for the Finals, but the question is, can they cover the spread? I guess I'll just wait and be patient. I'll take it live when Ginebra is down, maybe I can get a spread of -3.5 or even lower.

That's a good strategy as Ginebra is a slow starter team, I mean they usually step on the gas in the second half, especially in the third quarter but this is a quarterfinals game so I think coach Tim Cone will really push his guys to be aggressive all throughout the game and they might blow NLEX early.

Ginebra -6.5 @1.80 vs NLEX

I will take no chances as Ginebra might blow out their opponent tomorrow because they are coming from a lose.

That's a good point, my friend. A team that usually comes from a big loss will play harder in the next game. Just like what TNT and SMB did when they came back from a disappointing loss in the EASL tournament, they had a blowout win.

However, it's also a good idea to wait for the moneyline live since this is a best-of-3 series. Who knows, the referees might make it an interesting series.

Also, NLEX came from a huge loss against SMB.
1079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A reminder that with your bitcoin in a cold storage, you can be your own bank on: March 17, 2023, 09:38:25 PM
SVB and Credit Suisse has fallen and more woes in banking sector are yet to follow believe it or not. Banks will ultimately fail and customers whose money will be lost or account frozen are the ones who will suffer not the shareholders. Imagine if the people who are victims of the banks had held their Bitcoin in a cold storage, I bet they wouldn't be in a bad place at the moment or have any iota of worry. The level of trust people have for banks is at an all time low at the money. The way I see it, having your money in the bank and having an institution or someone else hold it for you is just the same thing as they face the same risks. A reminder that with your bitcoin in a cold storage, you can be your own bank.
There’s no other way to make it safer than to be with our own bank, and that is clearly not allowing any bank or third party that will make an access to our coins. While this way is more safe and secured, the risk of losing is still there. You could have lost all your coins if you never follow the rules to secure your account. That is the reason you have to take full responsibility of your account so you can lessen the risk of losing your hard earned funds.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical gambling and internet gambling which is more fun. on: March 17, 2023, 09:14:14 PM
The above gambling you're listed above is PVP games and sports, not a physical gambling where you're playing poke with a dealer, play slot machine and any other games where you're played on the physical casino.

Internet gambling or online gambling is more secure and avoiding drama due to friend, it's better for solo player who doesn't have any friend or don't want to let his friend know if he's a gambler.
Right, those are just PVP games and are not really needing interaction on your co-gamblers. But if we think on those games that are certainly played inside a physical casino, you will really develop the urge to interact and be exited and have more fun than just gambling on your own inside your room. I guess for me physical casino still gives me more fun, maybe because I used to socialize and usually go out with friends and acquaintances.
