How about the Warriors vs Rockets? Warriors are 10-1 so far while Rockets came from a big win against the Suns. They are on a back to back game while the Warriors are dominating at home.

Last 3 games at home;

vs  Chicago - won by 8 points
vs  Jazz - won by 11 points
vs Clippers - won by 17 points.

Are they going to cover the spread if they'll win?

I could have watch this fight through live streaming if I knew it's happening today. Usually, the date of the fight is on American time, I have no idea that it's on a Philippine time so it's just unfortunate that i missed watch this fight. Watching the highlights, I saw that the fight was short and ended in a controversial result, but in the eyes of the fans, it was very obvious who won the fight.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 02, 2022, 01:12:54 PM
In two days Tyson Fury is going to have a third fight against Derek Chisora and YuginKadoya seems to be the only one who remember it, as there were only few posts about this fight during last 30 days. It is time to wake up boxing fans Cheesy Why so silent ? No one is going to watch this fight ? Aged Chisora is no longer dangerous? Because Chisora havent won anyone convincingly since 2019? Undefeated WBC champion is about to have a belt defence, or even might have his last fight before retirement, and people show low interest in that fight. Strange...
Because Fury cherry-picked someone that has zero chance of becoming a world champion. What's more strange is he already beat the better versions of Chisora twice and they aren't even close. And with Chisora picking this fight in less than 2 months, Fury can probably carry the fight and can decide which round he will stop Chisora.

DAZN has the better event this weekend. The trilogy between Roman Gonzales and Juan Francisco Estrada.

But still it is a WBC belt fight. It cant be not interesting. Who cares if it is a cherry-picked fight or not, both fighters will get this fight in their record and huge money rewards. Besides, this is a heavyweight fight; a fight where a single punch can be a game changer. Anyway, strange that no one is interested in that fight, and to see a daily discussion of a boxer against youtuber fights (Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo, or Logan vs anyone).

I'm interested with this fight because when Fury fights, the fight is very exciting to watch. However, I just hope that he would choose a good opponent, someone who has a championship caliber, not an old boxer that are close to retirement age already. By the way, I love Roman Gonzales and Juan Francisco Estrada than this one.

I don't know if SMB has the weapons to beat Converge TBH because they are a strong team as well, but let's see how they will play.

I would not question SMB's capability, I think the question would go to Converge. I get it, they are hot currently but comes playoffs time, it's going to be a different story so I'll always back SMB against Converge TBH.

I will agree with you on that one because SMB can't be underestimated in the playoffs since that's their favorite situation in the PBA season. Romeo will undoubtedly bring some energy and with JMF back in the lineup, he will be a big problem inside especially if he will be playing close to 100% soon.

SMB indeed win despite Fajardo and Romeo only played with limited minutes, JMF only contributed 9 points, so different compared to his usual numbers when he is 100% healthy. It's still a big win by SMB although it looks very controversial.  Grin
1325  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: December 01, 2022, 09:59:26 PM
I was wondering if there could still be any safe centralised exchange in the blockchain industry. Of lately lots have been unveiling itself and centralisedexchanges are at the end of it all.  Does it mean that these centralised exchanges that are in existence lacks the capability to safeguard assets and funds after attracting investors and traders to their platforms for engagement and activities?
How do you explain these things to the people whom have entrusted their funds and assets to you for safe keeping hoping that what they gave to you is under safe care only to wake up to a sad news of their assets being stolen by hackers. How do you explain all these.

At first identifying the problem is a basic course for rendering solutions. If these problems are not identified immediately by the exchanges for quick remedy then who's to be blamed for it. Do they really do constant check on their service to know their lapses, if they do, do they identify it immediately with utmost attention? Do they do a constant check and evaluation on their staff and  mechanisms.

With all these said, what are your opinions on this subject matter as I feel this needs to be looked into for possible measures to be taken for  so as to further prevent or minimise the rate at which exchanges get hacked or being careless with investors and traders funds.
For me, there will be no safe centralized exchanges anymore even before the scandalous event of FTX. Note that once we chose to store our funds in centralized exchanges, everything is at risk because anytime of the day, we will lose our funds in an instant. So as much as it’s not happening yet, then we should not be comfortable anymore placing our hard earned money in those type of exchanges. Don’t wait for another big event that will hit centralized exchanges, the previous dramas are more than enough.
1326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there best way to seek people's attention on bitcoin? on: December 01, 2022, 09:37:03 PM
You are yet to invest in bitcoin, so how do you explain to people how it is purchased, security and why it save to use than fiat. All these can be preached or thought to someone when you have a personal experience. So you first need to invest before spreading its adoption. Let it start with you.

Then you could go on and preach to them about the experience you have gotten from it.
Well, we can only bring out the best for us and for others if we can gained personal experience from bitcoin, and yes investing is a must. Now, if we have come to witness the benefits of bitcoin and have experienced it on our own, then we can easily speak to others to gain their interest and attention on the thing called bitcoin. However, we can’t expect to gain positive feedbacks from them as some have made their own conclusion to bitcoin, but we can still pursue our goal to spread bitcoin adoption for those who have become interested and become motivated to own bitcoin.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost today 2000 usd and quit gambling + lesson i learnt on: December 01, 2022, 08:58:03 PM
Well I don't think a real gambler will quit after he got a big winning, if your main intention to make money through gambling, you should learn gambling is only for fun. If you keep chasing money, you will either become an addict or an abuser since you're want to maximize anything to make profit. I've learn this after I got a good lesson where I become mad and don't want to interact with any people, when I become matured, I know gambling is for fun only,
Yes, gambling is for fun and not to see it as a means of living. However, if you see yourself as an active gambler, then quitting must be hard particularly that you have made significant amount of profits in gambling. Rather than quitting for good, maybe consider this gamble at your own risk. You can still gamble but focus on sportsbetting because you seemed good at it and profitable too. And maybe you can start refraining yourself from other type of games to avoid future losses.
1328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the eyes of Sam himself, he is so innocent on: December 01, 2022, 08:44:01 PM
He had no intention to defraud anyone but at the same time he was mismanaging billions of dollars and donating millions of dollars to political parties? I do not buy it.

He is just delusional and probably a narcissistic person.
Actually, I am starting to see a pattern here among people like Sam, Do Kwon, the Faketoshi, etc. Narcissism, disregard for other's well-being and lack of the ability to accept their responsibility and lies.

I wish he gets imprisoned so does Do Kwon.
Still everything falls on defrauding as he is more on fulfilling his own greed for money by siding some of the political parties and feeding them with millions of dollars. As long as cheating or swindling is there, Sam is still responsible for all the consequences that has happened to FTX so he should be punished and should be given proper sanction. Well, falling as a victim may seem very common for people who have been in his position, but I doubt if he’s still a victim when everything is planned and manipulated by a person like Sam.
1329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: November 30, 2022, 09:27:08 PM
I have been working as a freelancer for years, and I have saved some reasonable sum of money. now knowing the full potential that cryptocurrencies have, I am now confused on what to do if is to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish a business while still working as a freelancer, I don't know the one I should do at moment, if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.
If you have a good business in mind, that guarantees good profits even for short term, then make it as your top priority. You can always add another investment like cryptocurrency if you are already making extra profits from your first business. But for now, focus on your first business and work on it so that it will give you your expected profits and even go beyond that. Crypto is also a good investment but the risk is too high that it can’t give you guaranteed profits.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Solution to Address the Problem of Gambling in Australia. on: November 30, 2022, 08:52:23 PM
I think it's a good idea. Anything that helps to curb people who get out of control with gambling and end up losing much more than they can afford, even if they are in debt, is a good thing. Although it seems to me that with the ease of credit today the effect will be small. Nowadays many people have a pre-conceded personal that with two clicks on their cell phone they get the money in their account. Or instead of spending the credit card you can spend all the money you have in the casino and then pay the month's expenses with the credit card.

I have already said that I think it is positive but it will not be a panacea.
Not definitely the solution but it will contribute a lot to reducing gambling addiction and keeping them away from heavy debt that will make their finances totally broke. So I’m very optimistic on this proposed solution that it will be very effective in the long run. Using credit card is good when it comes to fund for emergency cases, but definitely not for gambling purposes.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Unconventional Betting Strategy on: November 30, 2022, 08:32:16 PM
It's just good because there will be more brains to analyze the game but it's not different from tailing a bet, like on this forum. Those who share their picks and a bunch of gamblers follow it which means it could really hit the winning ticket.
I am happy you are doing it with your friends, I just hope it won't create a conflict when you win big and also about how the profits will be shared if you have different amounts that were put in.
Not really a strategy but more like enhancing the way to enjoy every game with money on the line.
Well, they say 2 heads are better than one, so its obvious that you guys can create more chances of winning since all of you will contribute good analysis on the game. Aside from that, you and your friends develop socialization since there will be a lot of interaction between you and your friends. And I think if ever you lose huge amount in your bets, that would not be so hurting and frustrating, because you know you only bet on the amount all of you can afford to lose.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first attempt to play gambling on: November 28, 2022, 09:42:52 PM
We all have a different experience how we started our first bet. Their are people who started bet without having any knowledge concerning it. Their are some people started with a help from a friend to bet and their are some who took their time to learn before they started paying bet.

How was your first start? Did you play blindly or spent some time to learn.?
I had my blast when i started gambling because i was able to won a significant amount out from a blind bet. But seems the beginner's luck ends there because after that, i went through a lot of losses. The reason why i study about gambling from then on and research on some strategies and techniques to create more chances of winning. I was able to win some, and lose somehow too.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 27, 2022, 01:17:28 PM
Looking at the poll, there is a user here who voted for Ryo Akaho? Who are you and why did you choose him? Nah, just joking! Grin

I'm just glad to see that there's someone here who is in favor to the Japanese boxer and not John Riel Casimero, surprising enough but it is a good thing though because this means that there is indeed a competition here. Though I'm just not sure if he can really make some difference here because I'm seeing this Ryo as a local boxer which is kinda different to Casimero's league who is fighting in the mainstream.

Of course, that's why we have some times kinds of unexpected events where we see an upset because the supposed boxer will dominate his opponent is taking a lot of damage and is mostly stunned by an underdog opponent. This is a sport and with enough practice and skill to adapt to how to counter his opponents throughout the rounds will gonna his ace to win the fight. Casimero should not underestimate his opponent because he hasn't been in the ring for a long time and he might be caught by a surprise.

He should, instead, must train harder to get an impressive win. He was inactive due to the fact that he was disqualified, I hope he will forget the past and will just focus on the future, maybe make that as an inspiration that making the same mistake will surely end his career in boxing.

Lots of picks @owengtam09...

If you'll hit them all, you'll be so lucky, so might as well ride it with a parlay.

By the way, you choose all the favorites, so it looks easy.
For me, I would just follow some of your picks because I believe they'll hit.

I have the following.

1-Boston -7
2-Bucks -6

Agree with your pick mate, Boston and Bucks are the most consistent team so far. The number 1 and number 2 in the East have a record of 15-4 and 13-5 record respectively. The spread is high, so I have more confidence that they'll cover the spread. In terms of covering the spread, both teams are on an acceptable level. We have Boston who are 57.9% and Bucks 61.1%.

Bolts ML @2.78 vs Magnolia

I would have picked the same if I was able to bet on this game. We are in the 3rd quarter already and the game is quite close, Meralco already leading by 1 point McDaniels does not have his usual numbers yet but as for the team play, Meralco is doing well, good luck mate.

All of the sudden it has become a blowout win by the Magnolia. There's no way Meralco will be able to comeback now that Magnolia already has 20 points lead. There's only one full quarter left, and Meralco is not SMB or Ginebra who can have a big come back to win. Anyway, it's not over yet but the chance of Meralco winning is very low now.

Yeah, I was surprised because of a big run by the Magnolia, that 3rd quarter was full domination, 47-23, what kind of defense Meralco had in that quarter, it looks like they have no chance to beat good teams despite having a good import, or Magnolia was just lucky in the 3rd quarter.

Congratulating the Magnolia backers, this is your night.  Grin

1337  Other / Off-topic / Re: Increase in cost of running the family on: November 26, 2022, 09:43:39 PM
I see that this is reality that the cost of running the family house hold daily, weekly, monthly and yearly has increased. From different people that have complained and including friends, it is getting so much of frustration to taking good care of the family to live fine because inflation and no job. To buy basic need in the house not easy. A friend that have add a new born to his home complaining of buying diaper, provisions for the new child as expensive in addition to the expenses to take care of the other children. The situation of bringing up the family is not easy and I think one way to helping ourselves not to add more financial burden is by reducing the number of children we give birth to. This can help.

This friend of mine now complain so much because of the new child adding to his family. If we reduce the child bearing to the amount we can take care , it will reduce the heat we are feeling from the bad economy experience.
Since all the basic commodities prices are consistently increasing, then it’s better to stick to family planning and limit the child we have so that we can always cater to their needs and not deprive them due to poverty. Just take a look at the royal family, they only prefer 2-3 children and give everything they need, unlike those parents who are struggling and yet chose to raise a lot of children and end up begging for foods from other people.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 26, 2022, 09:19:53 AM
^^ Yes, even in the Pacquiao fight, his training or at least when he do the his drills, he is somewhat very slow and not that agile. Maybe that's how Thurman's training is, not focusing on the speed but power because he want's to try to knockout his opponent, and even before he was knock down or lost the fight to Manny, he is known to have that punching power.

So there's no difference it training at all for him, but I think he is more faster that Ugas that Spence recently beat. But has more power behind it. He had Manny in trouble in the later rounds, it's that his weakness was a body punch and when Manny hit him in the stomach, he somewhat wince, meaning he is affected.

For sure Spence team knows that, and Spence also throws a lot of body punch in the Ugas fight and we can see that it has power behind because Ugas will react and then tuck his elbow under him for protection.

So Spence is a good to decent body puncher, base on his stats against Ugas:

216 punches thrown, 70/784 = 27.6 %

So maybe a couple of body shots might hurt Thurman here. But still though, this is going to be a very close fight that might go to the scorecard.

Thurman survived against Pacman despite that 1st round knockdown, so I don't think Thurman here will allow Spence to exploit his weakness. Thurman has probably recovered already from his injury and has prepared for his comeback, so I don't really think that Spence aiming at Thurman's body would be a great strategy.

We have two games today but the first game which will be this 4:30 PM is not that interesting to watch, so let's proceed to the last game which is the battle of Beermen vs TNT.

Based on ML odds, we have SMB 1.61 and TNT 2.32.
Nice odds, I guess SMB takers will not hesitate betting on that odds. At my bookie, I could get a max of 1.67 with a price boost.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 26, 2022, 06:58:00 AM
The King is back and the Los Angeles Lakers put an end to their away phobia. They defeated San Antonio 94-105. LeBron contributed to his team with 21 points. If Lebron does not suffer from injury in the next games, the Los Angeles Lakers will be on the rise. He knocked out the in-form Sacramento Kings in Boston and perhaps kickstarted a new streak.

Let's see if they will defeat a good team. Actually, they already defeated the spurs without Lebron, so having him back would only be easy for them. Their run is good without him but for sure they have already adjusted, Westbrook seemed to be fitting well on his new role, less attempts and more on passing the ball.
