1081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: March 17, 2023, 08:30:00 PM
Sorry to raise this topic over here, it was too heavy for me to answer all alone so I decided to share here to see some reasonable answer from those that have been in such situations. An hour ago, I went out with a friend of mine and it happens to be a drinking hall (beer parlor) where he got drunk and as well trading.
The question is, can you trade while you are already drunk?
I was asked this question because I have never been in that mood before being drunk while trading and those who have been in that condition what was your actions and reaction while trading because I noticed something very hard for someone to be drunk and as well trade, do you make profits or keep losing maybe do you close your trade after being drunk.

I have reason where this topic should be posted but if any of you think this topic is not at the right place then suggest me the proper place where I can moved it to I will be very grateful.

The floor is always open for more discussions.
That is very risky to trade without your full focus and attention to your trades, and might only end up wasting your money on a lose trades. This is the most possible scenario when you do trading while you are highly influenced with alcohol. Although some might have managed to still win them, maybe because they are still not that affected by those liquors, but when alcohol hit you bad, you will lost your consciousness and ends up doing things wrongly. So don’t wait for it to happen to you, avoid trading while your mind is not on its full consciousness.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 16, 2023, 08:30:22 PM
Of course I should feel happy for people, but these stories got so redundant that I don't even know if the stories are real or if they're fabricating the stories just so they hopefully receive merits.
There’s always a sense of happiness and satisfaction if you hear successful stories of bitcoin. While others fail and end up quitting, some are just determined to move forward and succeeded in the end. However, you cannot expect for all stories to be like this, some are just too good to be true that made us realize if they are really happening or they just want to attract positive merits in the forum.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The journey of successful business man who were professional gamblers on: March 16, 2023, 07:32:23 PM
If become a professional gambler will make them rich and easy to make money, they wouldn't jump become a businessman, so the conclusion is a professional gambler isn't a good way to make money, but become a businessman is better.

Or maybe they're get restricted or blacklisted by those casinos because they always make money on the casinos, so they don't have any way to continue to make money except become the house or looking for the other opportunity.
Well, you have a good point. But gamblers will never be profitable all the time, regardless if they are veterans or professionals in gambling. That’s why these gamblers explore another endeavors in life, and that is taking chances to become businessmen. And they all prosper from it eventually, their hard earned money and possessions have proven it. Let’s just say that these people have more than just luck but also hardwork. They will never become as wealthy as today if they don’t gamble responsibly and become ideal businessmen.
1084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some of the most common mistakes we make as beginners, and how to avoid them. on: March 16, 2023, 07:05:59 PM
~snip

1. High quality post: One of the most important skills to learn in these forums is how to write meaningful content. If you can't write good content as a newcomer, you would be considered a shitposter in the forum and end up with nothing in your posts. I'm still not sure what a quality post is because there's so much content on this topic with different definitions. All I can say is that we beginners should avoid spamming by making our content meaningful.

~snip
It will not be so easy for beginners to fulfill this condition. The quality of the posts will directly depend on the background of the person. If this is not the case, then it is almost impossible to create high quality posts and this will have to be learned. I will not say that this is a super-difficult task, but depending on the abilities of people, it will take a different amount of time to master. Everything new is always something to learn. So, for many beginners, writing low-quality posts is almost inevitable and they all have to go through this path on their own. Someone will improve, but someone will not be able to and will abandon the forum (or become a shitposter).
We cannot expect from beginners to create a high quality post because their knowledge is still limited. But along with time, when they already understand cryptocurrency completely and how it’s market works, then they will start to bargain their knowledge and create highly meaningful post along with their past crypto experiences. That way, they can always create a good impact to other forum members and consider themselves significant contributors in the forum.
1085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I keep money in the bank or buy bitcoins? on: March 15, 2023, 09:21:53 PM
Generally speaking if all you care about is making profit from bitcoin then it is not a good idea for you to buy bitcoin specially when we are not yet in a 2017-like bull market where price goes up a lot every week. Bitcoin is mainly for those seeking financial sovereignty not those looking to make profit. The profit is the additional benefit they get.
Well, if your intention is just to buy bitcoin and grow them in your portfolio, that may be good but you can’t assure to make profits from it in a less period of time seeing bitcoin price only create a slight increase compared when we are still in the year 2017 where bitcoin price surges high and reached its peak. But buying bitcoin is better than saving your money in a bank as you will never have the full control of your money and you can’t maximize your profits knowing the interest is only low and limited.
1086  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: March 14, 2023, 09:57:54 PM
I guess for someone to call him or her self a trader you need to control your emotions right,
Nope. That's not how it should be viewed. For someone to call himself a trader he must be seen to have traded, made profit from that and then be able to withdraw and spend it in real life. That's the way I judge it. No one should term himself a trader if he hasn't been able to achieve all that.

Quote
*What else is required for such a person to control,is it still his or her emotions or what next?
We can't jettison the importance of emotional control when it comes to trading. However, that's not all there's to trading. Learn the set skills for trading first. Add a mastery of money management and risk evaluation to it. Then bring in emotional control and you will have a perfect setup.
Even when you’re good in emotional control and yet you fail in becoming a good trader in the first place, then you will still not succeed as a trader. Being a trader means you have to be well-rounded, you have good working strategies, you have the skills of a good trader, and you know how to manage your losses and emotions as being a trader itself would always have inevitable losses even if he has been trading for long in the market. Trading is really hard, that’s why we should learn the most of it.

Have you guys watched Anfernee Simons make a 4-point shot during the All-Star weekend?
WATCH: Apple David's underhand four-point shot decides Shooting Stars

I remembered my favorite anime basketball star when I saw the shot. Who else is a fan of Hanamichi Sakuragi here? He shot free throws like that every time.
1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you interpret the fluctuation of Bitcoin price ? on: March 12, 2023, 06:55:01 PM

Bitcoin price has dropped below $20k from the recent high of $25k in mid February. Personally I have no problem with this fluctuation because compared to altcoins and taking the bear market into consideration, Bitcoin is still reliable and the volatility is pretty reasonable. For new potential investors, is this still a good time to invest in Bitcoin ? What do you think of the recent drop of Bitcoin price ? Please share your views.
There is not much to interpret since this is simply how bitcoin moves, there were some users predicting we could see another important growth during this month, but such a thing would have brought the price close to 30k, and with the halving so far away it seemed as if it was too soon for such a price to be reached, so a drop on the price makes sense, however what is surprising about the current movement is that during some minutes the 20k floor was broken, which I personally thought we have left behind for good already.
Bitcoin has always been volatile in nature so price fluctuations will always be present anytime. We could see bitcoin price pumping today, but expect that it may also dump the following day, and this has happened ever since so there’s no much to interpret about it. As long as we know that bitcoin’s volatility happens for good reason, as it opens new opportunity for beginners and those who plans to continue to do DCA, then for me it’s something that everyone looks forward to. But let’s see when halving starts to happen, as it’s always expected that bitcoin price will certainly make a good progress right after that, since that’s what history has been showing us.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: March 12, 2023, 02:12:45 PM
I use to fine myself in the same dilemma some time ago where I hard to make a hard decision of letting go of my job and focusing on other things that bring my income and peace of mind, some time our regular job may be high paying and secured,  but the stress and motivation are not there and that drained our zeal and joy for the job.
- some time ago I was caught in-between this cycle of decisions making and thank goodness I choose my happiness rather than money and as long as I have a side hustle that can pay my bills and allow me the time to do other things that make me happy,  I am cool with it.
-It's already 2 year down the line and my side hustle have expanded with new branches I am the manager of myself and life have become more fulfilling for me since then.
-So check and weigh your options, and then make your decision as it best suit your condition.
That’s good to hear. It only means you were right then with your decision. However, in case of OP, if he is a family man, he should think twice first before leaving his stable job. He could end up making a wrong decision and leave his family suffering from hunger. Sometimes, even if you detest the nature of your job, as long as you still need it so badly to provide for your family, then you should stay with it. But if you really feel that you can find a better job without leaving your side hustles, then go and take the risk, but never settle on your side hustles only as they will not be around forever. Find another job that fit for you and where you feel more happy and convenient too, that way you can still enjoy your day job while keeping those side hustles that provide additional income for you.
1090  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC deep continues for the next SIX Months. on: March 12, 2023, 12:26:35 PM
If we cannot expect a bull run this year, then it is likely that next year will be the year. Based on the history of Bitcoin, there has always been good news after every Bitcoin halving, and the next halving is scheduled for next year.

We can use this countdown if we want to monitor. https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/halving/
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 12, 2023, 11:37:01 AM
The PBA All-Star game is currently ongoing and can be watched through Facebook streaming. In my opinion, this game is better than the NBA All-Star game because the players compete hard to win, making it more exciting to watch. Unfortunately, the official website does not provide a box score, so I cannot tell who the leading scorer is since I just checked in now.

Alas is doing pretty well now, I guess he is the top scorer.  Smiley

From Garcia’s perspective, he feels like he said yes to virtually every request because he wanted this career-defining fight so badly.
They didn't detail what other requests had been made but I like how Garcia is just trying to let the fight happen even if there are so many things that he has to accept.
This is good publicity for him too, he may pull some fans on his side for being the bullied one when it comes to the contract signing.

Davis is a popular fighter here, so most likely he got a high share and would dictate the terms of the fight. I guess Ryan Garcia really knows that, so he is giving that privilege to Davis now, and once he beats Tank Davis, then it will be his time to dictate the terms of the contract. I heard that there's a rematch clause for Davis if he loses, so that could result in a 2-0 in favor of Garcia, which will make him even more popular.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 11, 2023, 11:55:10 AM
I mean it is a big blow. But they still should be able to perform well. After all, they are still a good team without having Kevin Durant. What I am trying to say is they are of course not going to feel like everything has ended because they don't have Kevin Durant available because of injury. When he does come back from injury it is going to be really great and the team will also be more powerful.

This remains to be seen as there's no assurance that Durant will be able to come back this season. However, at least the team has won some games even without Durant, so I think they can compete well in the playoffs.

We will have to wait for the re-evaluation in two weeks to know his real status.

1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 11, 2023, 11:18:15 AM
It looks like Paul Lee's 3-point shooting has improved a lot,

There is no improvement but rather that really his usual. He was just able to keep the consistency even now entering his veteran period and post-prime.

Won't be called a "Leethal (lethal) Weapon" for nothing. Smiley

However, referring to his performance this past conference seems the Lethal Weapon is now getting rusty during the crucial game of the post-elimination games. But still, when needed, they can rely on him as always.

They can rely on him in clutch moments. Slowly, Magnolia has become a good 3-point shooting team, plus they have an aggressive defense, so they have improved this season. I have a feeling that Magnolia has a shot at winning this conference. Why? Because they chose a good import who knows how to share the ball and play good defense.

There's certainly a good chance that they'll win, but we can't discount Ginebra San Miguel as they are still the favorites to win. Without them in the Finals, PBA won't make as much money, so if they do make it to the Finals, it's likely they'll face off against the Gin Kings in a series that could be tied, leading to a game 7 and more revenue generated in the Philippine Arena.
1095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before you buy your first bitcoin take note on: March 10, 2023, 09:43:58 PM
Research will depends on the people since they carry out base on the scenario on how they are dragged on investing with crypto.

Some other has been hype and think the people pulling them is legitimate. Researching and learning will come  after they experience bad on what they are doing which is common thing happens, if newbie could spend sometimes browsing some information for sure they will not come up investing on scams because for sure they became wise investors and go only on legitimate programs.
While others chose to invest first and learn their lesson afterwards, smart and wise investors start with a thorough research first and check the feedbacks about their planned investment so that if they see some negative points about it, then they will hesitate to push through the investment. However, when it comes to buying bitcoin, we already know it’s a profitable and reliable investment, but it does not guarantee success unless if you start doing your part prior to investing.
1096  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kyc verification dangerous? on: March 10, 2023, 09:16:02 PM
Is this true that kyc verification can put your funds and personal data at risk? Should we stop using any app that ask for kyc verification?

Services like casinos and exchanges need KYC to avoid money laundering and isn't an option for them to have it or not, is a must for them to operate in a legal way, business without KYC is kind of illegal.

And that's right, our data is at risk because if the exchange gets hacked then the bad guys can access all the credentials submitted by the users on the KYC process... And this is why some casinos and exchanges use a 3rd party for the KYC process.
KYC is certainly the trend right now, if you want to avoid it, then you will never be allow to enjoy the services you need. However, we should still take caution on where to submit KYC, because if you do that in all your desired services and exchanges, without making prior researches, then it’s never surprising that you end up giving your private information to scam ones. And that’s the part where one should start worrying of, as it can used against him later in the future.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: March 10, 2023, 08:54:39 PM
I would say that "It was not the best decision". We can't just throw money too easily and that much more if that is hard-earned money because we can't just put trading like gambling where we rely on luck otherwise, forget about trading.

Having a basic knowledge of trading is the very least requirement and even using trading bots won't simply work. We have to consider and invest first in knowledge for this is the tool to success or else, losses are only what we get. I don't think that is what we wanted to happen, so we don't need to push ourselves if we are not already ready for this.
Trading is hard and risky so if we still trade without understanding first how trading works and how it will be profitable, then we will lost the essence to succeed. Remember that obtaining knowledge and developing our trading skills are the most important in trading, if we can’t have that, then we will always fall as traders. However, there are also some aspiring traders that no matter how hard they try, they will never get how to take advantage over trading, and maybe they just don’t fit in trading.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 10, 2023, 08:31:03 PM
Today morning received the weeks payment. I had the payment of the previous week. Altogether it was around 0.0055 in the wallet. The first bet was planned to be 0.0005BTC. Instead of placing 0.0005BTC, I misplaced 0.005BTC and the bet was lost. This was completely unexpected and it is my fault. If the bet have won my wallet balance could've turned 0.007BTC, now it is an empty wallet.

Have any of you encountered such wrong bets and won/lost Huh

I have been making wrong bets before and eventually lose most of them. And I think that’s also my fault since I was never really into serious betting way back then, but still no regrets since I was only betting at a small amount. But I think we can always avoid wrong bets if we really want to. Only bet when you think you feel a bit lucky that time, and always make good analysis before betting. That way, even if gambling is still luck based, at least you know you are betting on the highest probability to win.
1099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin- Beginners fear for exploration on: March 09, 2023, 09:55:00 PM
But as a newbie, I still have this fear that I may not be able to withstand the risk involved. Can anyone advice me on this?
I think you entertain such FUD because probably you feel the best way to meet up is to invest all you've got which is not advisable since to trade or invest in Bitcoin is to do it with an amount you can easily part with thanks to the volatility rate of it.
Secondly, nothing meaningful in life is worth it without engaging in some form of risk. Learn about Bitcoin first do it gives you a background knowledge of what you are heading into.
If you really think investing all in, then you will surely fear of its outcome. You cannot start investing if you see yourself less knowledgeable in the crypto market. Take the process of learning first until you see yourself start to completely understand how crypto investment works. Risks will always be there. If you keep on fearing it, nothing will happen to your life. That is why learn first before you take the risk so you can lessen the risks and manage your losses if ever you start investing.
1100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: March 09, 2023, 09:15:38 PM
the person you probably ask for tips in trading doesn't want you to trust him either because he doesn't want you to blame him if incase you lose money because of his trading advice.

trust yourself and trade based on you what you have read on your trading chart. you wouldn't have to blame someone else. this way you will strive to learn with your experience.
The more you lose, the more you get motivated to learn, and you’ll do everything so you can start minimizing your losses. Rather than trusting other people for the success of your trades, trust yourself instead as it’s the only way you will find yourself an effective trader in time. Note that most of the successful traders these days start from the scratch, so eventually as we keep on learning and experience different trading market conditions, then we will know in time how to trade the market regardless of its current condition.
