3241  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardware Wallet on: November 23, 2022, 09:49:47 PM
And i want to make a project of building an hardware wallet (something like Ledger )
Please don't make it like ledger  Tongue
There are much better hardware wallets available today, and I would even say that market is oversaturated with hardware wallets.

Where should i start ? i do not have any idea i saw some video on youtube from people who opened a ledger and saw all circuit there, i think there are 3 important circuit which are microprocess and basics circuit.
If I understand correctly you want to start making commercial hardware wallet device that you want to offer for selling to other people?
In my opinion this is pure waste of time if you are single guy who is starting from zero without any background experience in making products.
You would have to compete with some big players, so this is battle already lost.
It's ok if you are making hobby DIY project, and in that case try to make everything open source and transparent.

(btw i want to build an evm hardware wallet)
More blockchains, means more bugs, more work, and in near future most of shitcoin blockchains won't even exist, or nobody will use them.
3242  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin 2008/09-2022 History Paperback/Hardcover Book on: November 23, 2022, 09:33:33 PM
What does the Bitcoin community think? Looking forward to engagement and constructive support …
I think you are wasting your time and energy with shitcoins like DigiByte, Syscoin and others you mentioned, but it's your project and you can do whatever you want.
Current market conditions are not great and people are more interested in current market conditions then past events, that can be distorted with different points of view.
You need to understand that people are not willing to send donations and make sponsorship for any Bitcoin related books easy, except maybe for faces that are already known in public like Andreas Antonopoulos etc.
Anyway, good luck with your project, and remember to mention Bitcointalk forum as important part of Bitcoin history Wink
3243  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTCapsule can timelock your bitcoin, while giving you full access to your coins on: November 23, 2022, 09:21:59 PM
I’m wondering if anyone has tried out BTCapsule. I would love to hear any feedback/criticism. Thank you.
Can this be tried and tested with Bitcoin testnet or only with mainnet coins?
I would be interested in testing how everything works with testnet coins first, but I can't promise anything right now...because life stuff have priority.
My suggestion is to first ask for code review from known bitcoin developers, and maybe record demo video showing how everything works for you.
3244  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Uputstvo za korištenje Chipmixer-a on: November 23, 2022, 09:13:26 PM

3245  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 35% off Keystone Hardware Wallets Code on: November 22, 2022, 11:28:58 PM
The offer is good and I don't expect any other wallet provider to compete with it, but they don't ship worldwide, and using package forwarding service is not really worth it.
I can confirm they are shipping worldwide, and they are also using Amazon shop for Europe and United States; Asia is covered from Hong Kong/China I think.
If Keystone website or Amazon is not offering your country for delivery, than you can try contacting them on their telegram group @KeystoneWallet or their owner @LixinLiu (their twitter account is also active).
Note that I am not advertising Kesystone products in any way, just trying to provide correct information, so seller on Amazon is called KeystoneHQ and this is their official store:

3246  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Celebrate Self Custody with Cypherock X1 50% Discount on: November 22, 2022, 11:19:26 PM
Get 50% off on Cypherock X1 with promo code NOSEED50 till Black Friday
That is a nice Black Friday deal but I think Cypherock X1 wallet is still a bit expensive for me, even with this discount price is $199 plus shipping.

Shamir Secret Sharing converts your plain-text seedphrase to encrypted shards. Lose 3 of the 5 shards and still have access to your Bitcoin.
I don't know if you are official representative of Cypherock wallet, but if you are, canyou tell me if this Shamir Secret Sharing is compatible with other wallets that supports it.
For example, I know that Trezor Model T and Keystone also support SSS, but I don't know if your is compatible with theirs.
I said before that main problem with Shamir Secret Sharing is not standardized implenetation, so everyone is making their own ''better'' versions.

One more question:
I saw on your website that wallet is Open Source and code can be found on github, but is wallet firmware and everything else also open source?
If you can confirm this I will add Cypherock X1 to my list of Open Source hardware wallets:

3247  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: November 22, 2022, 11:07:28 PM
They are marketing this as their "biggest" Black friday offer to date, my expectations are up.
Any thoughts?
Nobody can beat this year Black Friday offer for Keystone hardware wallet, that is up to 40% discount!
Trezor is also offering very good deals, but I said before that I am waiting to see new device they release with secure element and I am  not purchasing anything from Trezor until then.
However, if someone doesn't have much money and still want's to purchase decent hardware wallet, Trezor One is still usable and ok for current BF price.

I just checked and I can confirm they are selling the Trezor model T for 181$, not bad to be honest.
Still expensive for me.
Passport hardware wallet is a bit more expensive but it's way better than Trezor Model T.
Even Coldcard and Keystone are better, and they are currently much cheaper.
Jade hardware wallet could also be considered, it's going to be airgapped soon with firmware update, and it's around $40 to $50.
3248  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger: get up to 30$ in free BTC. on: November 22, 2022, 10:54:10 PM
So apparently and instead of giving discounts on devices, ledger is giving away:
Are they really giving away $20 and $30 dollars worth of Bitcoin to customer address, or they are again using their third party partners gift cards vouchers like this did last year?
If this is the same kind of deal like last time I can tell you to stay away from this, because last year some people get tricked by this.
I can't remember all the details but someone could search more to find what exactly happened with this.
Go get Snake Oil vouchers quickly and do one more round of kyc roulette  Tongue

3249  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: November 22, 2022, 10:43:34 PM
After checking the exodus mobile app, it appears that the taproot support is not there yet. You can only use it on the desktop wallet for now.
It's weird, but I never tested Exodus mobile wallet and it's probably harder to enable this in apps.
Just look at Electrum mobile app and compared it with desktop wallet, it's totally different experience, but they probably need different developers for this.

More to add: Blixt wallet (open source)[1]. Just like exodus, you have to enable it from the settings:
Thanks, I just added Blixt wallet to my list of Taproot supported wallets.
Is this Lightning Network mobile wallet that also supports mainnet Bitcoin transactions?
3250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTCapsule can timelock your bitcoin, while giving you full access to your coins on: November 22, 2022, 10:27:15 PM
Windows Defender may flag BTCapsule because it was made with PyInstaller. I do not have $500 for a signed-certificate right now. When you generate an address, Google "Bitcoin testnet faucet" and have coins sent to the generated P2SH address.
This is fine because windows defender is not very smart piece of software and it false flags a bunch of things.
Everything should be fine as long as the source code matches with windows version of BTCapsule and if this can be verified.
I would suggest everyone to switch to Linux OS anyway.
3251  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit not paying out YoFarm Rewards. on: November 22, 2022, 10:11:29 PM
Does anyone have similar experience whith Yobit?
You shouldn't use that crap exchange at all, and all other yield earning platforms that earns some magical tokens are also semi-scam ticking time-bomb getting ready to explode.
If you followed all the history of Yobit you could see many members suggested to stay away from all of their ponzi schemes, and this yofarm rewards is just one of them.
Your only hope is to try contacting their support, but good luck trying to get any real answer from them.
Never keep any Bitcoin on centralized websites that earn's you some virtual crap.
3252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coin market cap launches proof of reserves tracker for exchanges. on: November 22, 2022, 09:51:26 PM
Isn't CoinMarketCap owned by Binance exchange?  Roll Eyes
That makes it very strange, and I never fully trusted any information they posted after ownership was changed.
Nothing strange than to see that Binance exchange is now listed in first place ow their Proof of reserve tracker...  funny thing that Binance moved a lot of coins after they reported it as ''proof''...
Please take everything you see on this CMC website with a grain of salt.

This will lead to a false sense of security: you can't know how much is in the users' balances, so you can't know if the exchange has enough funds to cover them.
Yes, it's the same old ''safu'' stuff in brand new shiny packaging.
3253  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX comedy and might be another exchange that bites the dust? on: November 22, 2022, 09:33:15 PM
SBF is clearly doxxed and well known, as is Caroline Ellison. As the court documents show, they kept no records of deposits, they didn't even know what bank accounts they had, and they simply helped themselves to customers' money for their own personal use.
I think it's very obvious that Sam and Caroline are just puppets in this game controlled by bigger players, they both came out from nowhere and made exchange with top volume in just few months.
This is not even possible in Disneyland and fantasy cartoons, especially when we know their connection with various politicians, and supporting creation of other shitcoins.
Either this, or both of them are plain stupid if they thought they can continue doing stuff like this, it's like combination of Theranos and cult like Nexivm, but in crypto style Smiley

I think their plan was simple, keep this up with investors pouring money into it, print more tokens, both in number and multiple types of tokens, and dig in till the bull season comes and be the first to take advantage, then with the money printed out of thin air cover the past loses.
Problem is that nobody knows exactly when bull and bear run is going to start and finish.
People also though Theranos and Nexivm were great, heck some people still think they are great.

3254  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk on Telegram on: November 22, 2022, 09:02:10 PM
Those mediums reflects different user base, which we have seen, so far, little keen on "changing state" from one medium to another.
I don't like Medium very much, so many times I saw accounts getting banned there without valid reasons, so all posts gets deleted forever.
Sure, I can archive all my posts, but then what's the point of posting anything on that platform.
It's much better to have your own website or blog that can't be censored or restricted.

What's the benefit will it bring to the existed members? As I can see, most of the times, you mentioned it will attract new member to the forum. It sounds like marketing for Bitcointalk. I can't see a lot of benefits on it.
Maybe they can use telegram to post most important things that happened in Bitcoitnalk forum or news from last week or last month.
In theory this could bring new genuine members to register in forum, because a lot of young people never even heard about bitcointalk forum.

3255  Other / Meta / Re: Question about ban and hopeful reversal on: November 22, 2022, 08:52:03 PM
I tried to write a mail before like it was mentioned in the banner when I logged back in but no one ever responded to them.
If possible I would appreciate looking into it and hopefully reversing the ban from that time, I think it was unjustified but maybe I broke some rule that I missed that time.
It's possible your ban was a mistake, someone reported it after checking files you posted, or bot banned you, but in future try not to post any download links from mega and other similar websites, github link is enough.
I would also suggest before posting download link to check if antivirus programs detects false positive in your code, that could be one of the reasons you got banned.
Moderators should reply here soon and explain what happened, so please be patient.
3256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Two important lesson I learn from this forum this year 2022 on: November 22, 2022, 08:45:28 PM
So I am led to the conclusion that, cryptocurrency is not the problem, but centralization and the human factors are the major set back in the young fast-growing cryptocurrency industry
You can't have everything decentralized, so some centralization is actually good to have in world, but not for money, and cryptocurrencies.
I understand people want convenience but look what happened with banks and fiat currencies, exact same thing would happen with Bitcoin if we go the route of centralization like other shitcoins.
Centralized exchanges should exist, but I think people should work much more on decentralized exchanges even for bigger investors.
3257  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Connecting BlueWallet to Bitcoin Core on: November 21, 2022, 10:10:56 PM
Hi - I'm in the process of setting up my Bitcoin Core node and would then like to connect my BlueWallet to Bitcoin Core. Where do I find the correct IP address and secure port? Thanks in advance for any help!
You can find useful instructions how to connect Blue Wallet to your node on website posted below.
If you run into some trouble yo can try contacting Blue wallet support, or try using some other mobile wallets that work with full nodes.

3258  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Lightning network trading platform on: November 21, 2022, 09:42:57 PM
Would it be possible to build a lightning network trading platform that used BTC as the collateral?
Something like this already exists and it's called Kollider.
They are also working on Kollider wallet, that should work for for quick swap, send and receive coins.
On exchange you can find Synthetic Stablecoins Euro and USD that are backed by Bitcoin.
Everything is in Beta phase, so you can expect some bugs along the way, but I think this is good move forward.

3259  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: November 21, 2022, 09:26:45 PM
KYC (Know Your Customer) check is a widespread requirement of regulators which are trying to fight money laundering with the help of cryptocurrency. For sure, you have noticed that during the last 2–3 years this check has been introduced in more and more crypto services, including exchanges and wallets. And what about exchangers?
So can you guarantee the exchange won't ask customers for any kyc verification documents if there isn't icon like this, and if there are no verification rules mentioned anywhere on exchange website terms?

At the same time, we need to note that the verification in no way is a way of stealing the client’s data and using it illegally. This is just a necessity caused by the requirement of regulators, and a reliable exchanger will not give the information about the user to a third party.
We saw what happened with ''trusted'' centralized exchanges and how they keep customer documents ''safu''.
Didn't Binance leaked millions of customer passports with personal images that later ended up on some darknet forum, available in public for everyone to see.
In this case customers should trust one more third party, so there is much higher risk, because both of them can now leak information.
3260  Other / Archival / Re: [banned mixer] - Best Bitcoin Mixer / Tumbler on: November 21, 2022, 09:17:49 PM
In order to overcome this problem Mixero uses an algorithm called CoinJoin. When Bitcoin users conduct transactions with each other, CoinJoin protects the privacy by concealing their source and destination, thereby protecting their privacy.
Why would anyone use centralized website like Mixero for this, when they can use their own wallets for coinjoin in more decentralized way?
By using new websites like Mixero I could lose Bitcoin because I trust you, and by using coinjoin or joinmarket I can't lose anything.
Not to mentioned that mixero domain is registered only few days ago, as well as bitcointalk forum profile. so risk is very high compared to all other mixers that exist for years.
