3361  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: November 08, 2022, 11:06:08 PM
Exodus also supports taproot addresses (not sure when it got added). In order to activate it, you need to go to settings -> turn on Advanced wallet mode -> go back to your bitcoin wallet, and turn on "Taproot addresses".
Thank you for making a post about this, I didn't know Exodus added this option in one of their recent updates.
Not counting hardware wallets Trezor, Bitbox and ledger, I think this is the first multi coin software wallet that added Taproot support.
List is now updated with Exodus wallet, but I am not really recommending anyone to use this closed source wallet, when there are much better alternatives available.
3362  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Website with 15+ million products to shop with Bitcoin and 150+ cryptocurrencies on: November 08, 2022, 10:37:50 PM
It's in every product title, mate.
I don't know what exactly you mean with this, so you could explain in better?
What happens is someone already have registered AliExpress account?

Also try to place order.
I will also write and put logos of accepted currencies.
It's in Beta, so suggestions are always good.
For creating orders I would need to create new account, and I don't feel safe writing my private details (including phone number and address) in some shady cloned website in beta phase.
Adding logos and text changes won't fix anything, and I didn't see any proof that you are really delivering anything from sellers.
You didn't explain how payments work, and until them I will consider your website high risk and potential scam.

EDIT:
For transparency reasons, I created test dummy account and at checkout page there is option for paying with Bitcoin and other 150 cryptocurrencies, using NOWpayments.
I can't verify if this actually works, and if items would be shipped to person who made an order.

3363  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance intends to acquire FTX on: November 08, 2022, 10:32:10 PM
The block reported a few minutes ago, that FTX disabled withdrawals[1]. Can someone using the platform confirm if that's true or not?
On my account everything looked normal, but I don't have any coins left on exchange so I can't verify if withdrawals are still working or not.

Let's hope that Binance doesn't pull the plug on the deal, otherwise FTX is finished.
This makes you wonder how many more exchanges are on life support by Binance who is providing them fake trading volume, and I am sure it's not only FTX.
I am not saying FTX and other exchanges are not shady, but Binance is certainly showing top volume out of all exchanges, and they like to put their noses in everything.
CZ seems really desperate to crush any competition and have full control, maybe he is a bit more inspired by his communist regime policies Tongue
3364  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance asking for KYC, again on: November 08, 2022, 10:24:25 PM
Now I truly believe that it's always better to have a dual citizenship, one of them should be Non-EEA from a poor country where there are less and less regulations on things like this.
That is always a good idea to think about if possible, and not just for purposes of using this documents on bitcoin exchanges.
Dual citizenship can sometimes makes traveling much easier east and west, it gives much more options for moving and relocation around the world, and some countries have much lower taxes and less strict regulations.
I know some people who have several passports and properties in different countries, and they have great experiences with this, especially when they own bitcoin.

3365  Other / Meta / Re: Converting Bitcointalk to a decentralized Forum (Non-technical explanation) on: November 08, 2022, 10:13:37 PM
I personally don't get the obsession with changing everything to decentralisation, since it isn't something that needs to be implemented into everything, in fact I tend to believe in certain situations, decentralisation is a horrible idea.
I agree with you, people wanting to decentralize everything are either ignorant or just a dreamers who don't know how things work in real life.
Decentralized Bitcointalk would be terribly slow and unusable, but I would like to see certain parts of forum using decentralizations, maybe for some kind of voting, or things related with Ban/Unban.
This is not easy to implement, and I am almost certain this could not be implemented correctly in current bitcointalk forum software.

As much as I like the idea, there's a reason I haven't seen any real decentralized forum. The cons don't outweigh the pros.
It's not impossible to make it, maybe based on something similar like Tor, but everyone would probably have to download everything, and I am not sure many people would do that.
I know some decentralized forum attempts, but they never were 100% decentralized and they never got more attention or popularity.

3366  Other / Meta / Re: Could This Help To Reduce Spam? on: November 08, 2022, 10:00:34 PM
@igehhh Why creating a voting Poll without giving option to vote No?

I don't think limiting number of pages to 1000 to show signatures would benefit anyone, simply because bounty managers who are counting posts may disregard this rule.
Than you would only have people creating many more duplicate topics with less pages, so there would be five or more topics about Premier League, three or four for Champions League or World Cup.
Instead of having one Mega thread you would have more Mini threads with the same or very similar content, so nothing would be solved.
3367  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: November 08, 2022, 09:45:35 PM
Jebeni klaunovi poput Doa i SBF-a nastavljaju zeznuti kripto prostor...
3368  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 10% discount on Ledger hardware wallets on: November 07, 2022, 09:59:33 PM
Ledger just started a new promo campaign offering a 10% discount on all purchases in their official shop. This offer is only available for the next 48 hours.
You need to apply the promo code NYKNYC during checkout to take advantage of it.
I am not impressed with this new 10% discount, and Trezor beat them this time with bigger 15% discount, but in both cases they increased prices a lot before offering discounts  Tongue

Ledger live most likely share all the information they collect with their partners.
They share it 100% and they are not even hiding that, you can check their privacy policy page for more information about that.
Partnering with Binance is fine, but they shouldn't force you to pass kyc verification, oh wait... you can't even use Binance anymore without that Wink
I wonder why nobody is partnering with Bisq or any other exchange that doesn't have strict kyc?

Ledger are no longer a company which can be trusted. They consistently put profits above their users.
Ledger was never a trusted company, so nothing is lost there.
They accepted shit tone of money from left and right in their previous money grabbing campaigns, and they need to payback debts somehow.
3369  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Has Ledger stopped updating apps for the Nano S on: November 07, 2022, 09:51:33 PM
They have been still selling Nano S this year, 2022. And, afaik, by the European laws (Ledger is French, right?), they have to offer full support for at least 2 more years.
So for now I would not be worried. Not yet. After 2024, that's another story.
Support doesn't mean they need to update firmware and individual coin apps, it only means they have to answer to people about complains and maybe replace device if they are in warranty.
I don't know if they are so stupid do make separate apps for each model, that would make their work much more complicated, but it's possible judging how they handled updates for previously retired models.

And I can't foresee a situation where the bitcoin app becomes so large it doesn't fit on the Nano S at all, at least, not until such a time in the future that most Nano S devices have experienced hardware failure. As I said above, there is no incentive for Ledger to forcibly phase out these devices.
Incentive for them would be to sell a lot more S plus and X devices, to all the people that couldn't use old model S anymore.
I never liked their model of having to update firmware with Bitcoin app in ledger live, even if you are not using that software, so they are forcing you to use it.
Trezor did much better job, they don't have any apps installation, so process of firmware updating is much faster.

That's why I consider SeedSigner a strong option. It's just a Raspberry Pi Zero (not too far from a general purpose computer after all, just cheaper) with a fancy enclosure and the necessary hardware and software added to it. It's cheaper too than the 200$ mark. Ah, and no WiFi, so less chances for errors.
I like SeedSigner, but it's not solution for dummies, and I think we have larger amount of dummies who are using hardware wallets.
SeedSigner are similar DIY devices are more intended for geeks, and people who like making things for themselves.
You don't have to trust in secure element (there is none) but you don't have to keep seed words on device also Wink
3370  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: New crypto wallet Cropty (https://www.cropty.com/)? on: November 07, 2022, 09:15:39 PM
I work in a team to search for new bundles, it seems like a really promising wallet. I advise you to download Roll Eyes
No thank you, I am not interested in losing my Bitcoin for some speculative earning of 9% that will result of me losing everything in the end.
I don't know what team are you are part of exactly, maybe this Crap wallet should add more information on your website, and release code as open source, than we can talk more about it.
You should not recommend people to download new stuff like that, when you know nothing about it.

no, it's still a decentralized wallet, I checked.
they restore your wallet if you forgot your password using your phone number
Restoring something with phone number doesn't mean that this is decentralized wallet Roll Eyes
3371  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Website with 15+ million products to shop with Bitcoin and 150+ cryptocurrencies on: November 07, 2022, 08:40:10 PM
After working for  almost 10 months, I created a website using AliExpress product database, which has almost 15+ million products, and auto updating according to AliExpress Database.
Customer can shop with Bitcoin and other 150+ cryptocurrencies without converting their crypto assets to the Fiat.
LOL... You totally cloned AliExpress website and even all articles and sellers from that website are also available on your website.
I don't see Bitcoin or crypto mentioned anywhere on website, on payment methods page it shows that you only accept card payments, and this looks very suspicious to me.
Accepting Bitcoin claims are misleading, and this could be just one more phishing website.

3372  Economy / Exchanges / Re: About FTX on: November 07, 2022, 08:12:43 PM
Unless of course CZ is also shorting FTT, and by kicking off this bank run is now making huge profits. That's definitely the kind of shady shit that Binance would pull.
Is it really possible to make leverage trading and shorting shitcoins like FTT?
I just can't believe that crap like FTT is still worth around $22 despite all the negative campaign surrounding it.
Since Binance still have the biggest trading volume for FTT than anything is possible, but I just checked Sam posting on twitter and he is saying that everything is fine, and competition is spreading false rumors about them.
Honestly, I never liked both of this guys (CZ and Sam), and this looks like some high level stupid chess game they are playing against each other.
3373  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX comedy and might be another exchange that bites the dust? on: November 07, 2022, 08:01:00 PM
Good to know it's still working without KYC. In that case, they are lying about the requirements in the official documentation. If you check the source I linked to, you will see that everything matches with what I said in the previous post. Maybe the exchange was under regulatory pressure (like most CEXs) to implement KYC and they just did it on paper, while in reality there is still no need for it.
They are not lying anything in page you posted and you are not reading it correctly... in Tier 1 you don't need to send them any documents. Period.

It might be small if we trust Binance numbers, but remember that CZ was the architect behind that incredible volume at OKCoin when everyone knew the numbers are fake, so how much of what Binance claims is true?
Probably nothing is true, and CZ is well known as master manipulator, something like Chinese version of Elon Musk.
You don't get rich and wealthy like him, owning multiple business operating worldwide by being honest, especially not in public tweets Wink

Withdrawals not being processed and being staggered due to excessive congestion. Bear in mind this is exactly how the collapse of platforms like Celsius and Voyager started, all while their CEOs endlessly tweeted "FuNdS aRe SaFu". Roll Eyes
Withdrawal worked for me just fine yesterday, but I didn't have big amount of coins there, and now I have nothing there, so I am ok in case they collapse.
Everything looks scripted to me, as if Scam Bankman got tired of his crypto ponzi schemes  Tongue

3374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What crypto payment gate is the best? survey of criteria, and pack of TOP charts on: November 07, 2022, 07:46:14 PM
What do you think about the criteria of choice such as gates and their importance?
Maybe you should add very important information if this payment processors you mentioned are closed or open source.

I've been running my btc payserver node for years now... Usually it runs for months on end without me intervening. Up to the point that when it goes down, i usually don't notice for several days.
This is hands down the best payments processor in the world, you don't have to pay any fees and there are no third parties involved.
Other altcoins can also be supported, not that I am really interested in most of them, but there are some people who can find this useful especially if they are running some business:
https://docs.btcpayserver.org/FAQ/Altcoin/

PS
There was or is a really good alternative light version called CypherpunkPay, but their website is down for unknown reasons (github page is still available).
3375  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak on: November 07, 2022, 07:05:27 PM

3376  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: November 07, 2022, 06:28:38 PM
3377  Economy / Reputation / Re: About Support in the Contest on: November 07, 2022, 06:15:25 PM
I created this topic because I got a private message from someone whose initials I kept secret, who entered this contest - 🎃 [ANN] Bitcointalk Bitcoin Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃 to support his work in voting.
Why did you created this topic in Reputation section if you don't want to reveal profile of this member?
I really don't care who is going to win this contest but I know that whenever money and profit is involved you will have people doing all kind of weird stuff to win.
If this member sent mass messages than other people should reveal his profile, but you should should just ignore this if only you received this request from him.
Maybe he just wanted more people to see his work, and he was not forcing anyone to vote, so it's not that serious.
3378  Other / Meta / Re: Do we care why people were banned? on: November 07, 2022, 05:56:38 PM
Does anyone think that the reasons for banning should be made public and shown on every post they made?
Reason for banning someone exists but it's probably only visible to moderators and theymos.
Maybe it would be better for transparency if this would be visible for everyone, but I really don't need to see this information.
It's clear that member broke some of the forum rules, and sometimes this is more than one offences.
Only case I want to see explanation why someone was banned if there are reports and complains about moderator making a mistake.
3379  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoChanger.to NO KYC INSTANT CRYPTO⇄CRYPTO EXCHANGE | THE LOWEST FEES 0.5% on: November 06, 2022, 09:54:41 PM
We have launched our exchange in the recent month, we are highly vouched on various forums online, i can't seem to understand the baseless claims you're making simply from the domain age, you can ask for our profile link on other forums to check our previous vouches but you can't draw conclusions from simply looking up a domain age.
What forums exactly can vouch for you, maybe you should name them if you already said something like that.
Question for me is what are you going to do if someone sends you coins that are coming from previously registered hacks, or someone marked them as ''dirty''?
Would you ask for any verification than, and would you freeze coins or not?

I checked your website and I see that maximum amount of Bitcoin that can be exchanged is 1.5 BTC, that is not a lot of money in 2022.
This is better than false showing unlimited coins like some competition websites are doing, but it's still not great.

3380  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX comedy and might be another exchange that bites the dust? on: November 06, 2022, 07:46:08 PM
Earlier today I stumbled upon Twitter thread that speculated Binance moved 23 million FTT tokens worth $530 million to their exchange with the obvious intention to sell it all, and just now I saw CZ tweet in which he confirms that indeed they decided to get rid off all FTT. Could it be that rats are already leaving the ship?
Who knows what CZ is doing, and I never trust anything he is saying, but it's possible they are going to make some planned collapse soon.

Are you sure that is still the case? I heard they introduced KYC a few months ago. This article from their help center confirms that. If you are unverified, it says all you can do is browse around and explore the site. To get a $2.000 per day withdrawal limit equivalent in crypto, you need to pass level 1 KYC. But they don't require the submission of scanned copies of identity documents.
I am sure, but you don't have to believe me.
Tier 1 is not really a kyc verification, and you can write there anything you want, but there is always a risk they can later ask you to send them documents, like any other centralized exchange.
I spoke about it before, I have the account and I know what I am saying, I am not talking in relative terms, in metaphors and in theories.
