Just found out about this mining tool. Looks awesome, but have yet to download. Quick question, do multiple instances of a miner using different gpus but on the same rig count as multiple rigs, or just one rig?
The license is per mining instance, and in most cases you have one mining instance per computer. However, if you have both AMD and nVidia on the same computer, you typically run two separate mining instances, and that will consume 2 licenses. Hello Patrike, I too have questions regarding licence. If you can't integrate in a future version the possibility to override the default profit switcher for specific profile groups, i'll have to install awesome miner on concerned rigs, losing the interest of managing all my rigs with one software. But what happened regarding licence ? Does the rig with his own awesome miner count has an additional licence ? Or is it considered as a free one working alone ? If you run the free version, you can install it on any number of computers. If you have a license, for example for 10 miners, you are not allowed to use that license to manage more than 10 miners - no matter how many computers you install the software on. If you have two instances of Awesome Miner, where you apply your license, you cannot for example exceed 5 + 5 miners in total, or 6 + 4. You cannot have two instances of Awesome Miner (using the same license) and run 7 miners on the first and 4 on the second - in that scenario you need to upgrade your license. Can you please explain your requirement of overriding the default profit switcher? Is it to have unique custom pools per profile group? If it's simply about having unique worker names or wallets for the same pools - that's already supported.

Is there a way to switch/change MANAGED TEMPLATES from within cloud service/dashboard? I have defined pools and unique coins/miner software by creating several managed templates in AwesomeMiner. I see where I can change POOLS from within cloud web page but nothing happens back at the miner -- i.e. I assume just changing pools is insufficient / not the same as changing to a managed template which is what I really need to do via the web/cloud service.
please advise if I'm doing something wrong or can we add this "change/apply managed template" feature to cloud service/page options?
I all, I'm totally new on it... I would like to learn about Awesome Miner, to monitor my little ASIC farm... can anyone recommend me some reading/tutorial/video to start..? if it is in Spanish, better. tks There are several topics on the web site, even if there are no single complete tutorial that covers everything: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help.aspxAnd to get started adding your ASIC's: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/externalwizard.aspx

Not yet supported, but it's on the roadmap. The idea is to improve the web interface a lot early next year.

Hi Patrike,
Zpool's Sha-256 algo is reporting incorrectly, both on their own website, and on AwesomeMiner. I spoke to the Zpool folks, and they said the below:
Me: "Hey guys, is the Sha-256 algo really paying out like the zpool website is listing it as? If so, my balance doesnt seem to be reflecting the massive pump on Zpool currently. Maybe broken API somewhere?" Zpool: "mBTC per PH" Me: "Did y'all make a change recently? Becuase it looks like it's reporting incorrectly on your website as well." Zpool: "well... it was a longtime ago, but just noticed I didn't change the actual stratum to PH, just the front end so, these are what it should have been a long time ago. Missed a few 000's"
Anyway, can you fix?
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this information. Zpool had some issues on their side with reporting the profit of some algorithms recently, so I thought the high value of SHA-256 was just part of their other issues. Now when they sorted out the other problems, you are correct that it looks like they actually did a change for SHA-256. I will release a new version for this. For the moment, you can adjust to this by going to Options dialog, Online services, find zpool SHA-256 and set another "Profit factor".

Patrike - also, feature request: in Summary you added the Hostname/IP. Please make this clickable to launch an external browser. It would be sooooo helpful when managing large farms.
Thanks!
I think you can do this by adding a custom button in the toolbar using the rules. See "Example: Launch Remote Desktop for selected Managed Miner", but of course you can modify it to launch a web browser or any other application for the selected miner instead. http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/rules.aspx

Is the free miner truly free?
Any reallocation of hashpower to benefit developer?
The free version is free. No dev free or anything else that takes away your hashrate.

Hi all, .. I have been using Awesome Miner for months now with my Antminer rigs (2-R4's, 2- S9's) without any issues. I just added five (5) new Avalon S-741s and while hashing very well, I cannot seem to add them to as a new miner to Awesome Miner. Searching through the forums... It looks like I need to figure out how to add "Privileged API Access" (I guess). I found some instructions but am not confident enough to attempt changing my settings for this. Can anyone help at the API for dummies level? I don't have first hand experience of configuring Avalon miners, but I know other users are running them. On Avalon miners, the API settings can be found in the configuration interface via: Status -> CGMiner Configuration. When you found the settings for the API, you can get some inspirations on how to configure it from this guide: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/minerapi.aspx

Does Awesome Miner support remote controlling miners running nvOC (Ubuntu)?
My farm of nvOC based miners is growing and being able to centrally manage 1bash, 3main and the watchdog scripts (or perhaps in case of the watchdog script) be a replacement for it, would be very nice.
I'm running DSTM ZM Miner 0.5.6 on all rigs. I know that Awesome Miner recently added support for it, but it is not clear to me if Awesome Miner is only capable of interfacing with the ZM miner's API, or if it can manipulate GPU clock rates, power level, coins mined, etc, which are all normally selected within the 1bash script on each rig.
Awesome Miner can only connect to Linux miners using the API of the mining software, so the capabilities will be limited to what this API can provide and it's typically only the basic monitoring information that is available. The Remote Agent application is not available on Linux so you will not have any additional features like clocking or make changes to the pools and so on. The plan is however to have the Remote Agent application running on Linux in the future.

Awesome Miner version 4.2.2
- XMR-Stak miner can be monitored as an External Miner - More flexible configuration of Block Explorers for the wallet balance feature to support more coins. Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and Ethereum Classic are now supported by default. - Correction to profit threshold feature
|
|
|
New version 4.2.1 crashing after 2-3 min. !!!
Please send me the log file that you can access via the toolbar: Tools -> Log File. Have the same Error and send you the link to the log in PM, looks like it crash when profitswitching, change the pool. There is a bug in the new Profit Threshold check. If you disable that one for the moment, it should work. I will release a correction for this soon.

Did AM ever get support for the eBit miners?
I actually don't know. Awesome Miner supports most miners that runs cgminer or compatible software with a monitoring API. If you have any of these miners, please give it a try with Awesome Miner and let me know. Hi Patrike, Here is the API Report for an eBit 9t miner. It uses CgMiner. It does not have a configuration option to enable anything API related. Version: 4.2.1 API command: config API command: summary API command: privileged API command: devs API command: pools API command: coin API command: notify API command: stats If this miner is running Cgminer (are you sure?), it has not been enabled for API calls. Do you have any configuration on this miner to enable it? Or any other settings related to Cgminer or maybe even an cgminer.conf file?

Did anybody successfully run DSTM miner on 1080ti? It never starts for me, strangest thing ever.
First try what puwaha suggested above, because that's probably the solution. If it still doesn't work, please use the Diagnostics button in the toolbar to get more details from the mining software why it isn't starting.

How do i set up my ASICs to do external profit switching? I think ive got the program configured right, not sure if i need the remote program too though? Awesome miner is so confusing :/
Hi, Please follow this guide that both describes how the concept works and how to configure. It's basically just a click in a checkbox to setup: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/profitswitching.aspx#externalprofitBut how can it be just a click in a checkbox if it says in the documentation that it does not change the pools on the ASIC so you have to do this manually? So what settings are needed on the ASICs? and why does it say in documentation "The setting for Nicehash, zpool and Mining Pool Hub in Options dialog, Profit switching section, should not be filled in for the External Profit Switcher"... It underlines not to fill in some settings....so where do you fill in the information? what happens if you do fill in the info? will it not work lol, what information is it even talking about, this program and documentation is so confusing... The main concept for the External Profit Switcher is actually very simple, and is described in in the very first point: "For External Profit Switching, Awesome Miner will not add or change any pools on the miner. The profit switcher will only look at the pools already defined on the miner and change the priority of them. The priority is set based on profitability. "What the External Profit Switcher is doing is to look at all the pools on the Antminer, and you can see these in the Pools tab at the bottom of the screen in Awesome Miner, and set priority based on profitability. The pools you already defined on your Antminers (probably three of them) are already available, but you can of course add more. You can add them manually via Awesome Miner for example, where you define them via the "New pool" button in the toolbar. Then you can add it to your Antminer from the Pools tab at the bottom of the screen. All the pools you have on the Antminer will be considered by the profit switcher, but Awesome Miner will never do any add/remove pools operations automatically for you. The profit switcher is operating only by setting priorities that makes the Antminer change to the most profitable pool. The settings about "Nicehash, zpool, ..." and so on are for the Managed Profit Switcher used for GPU mining, where you have many more complex scenarios because of multiple mining software and algorithms. None of these settings relate to profit switching on an Antminer. It doesn't matter if you fill in these settings, they will be completely ignored by the External Profit Switcher for your Antminer.

Hi Patrike can u please add an option to upgrade all remote services at once.
Thanks
Hi, Isn't that working already? If you select more than one miner in the list of miners, the toolbar button "Upgrade Remote Agent" should allow you to do this. You can also right click and perform a "Select all" if needed.

Hashrefinery's Nist5 calculations have gone haywire. AM claims I'm making $200 million a day. Same for X11.
It's the same issue on their web site, so this cannot be resolved from an Awesome Miner point of view. In fact, zpool had similar problems recently and they stated it was due to some exchange reporting incorrect numbers to them.

Awesome Miner version 4.2.1
- Profit switcher can be configured with a threshold to not make a switch on small profit improvements - Configurable to display Antminer chip temperature in the miner list - Configurable to display average temperature in the miner list - Added feature to faster find a miner in the list, via the new Find toolbar - Command line parameters configurable per pool for the profit switcher in the Options dialog, Online Services section. - A miner group can be defined as the default group for adding new miners - Network scan for External Miners will only consider IP address, not port, to identify if it's a new miner - DSTM Zcash Cuda Miner supported - Correction to Offline Detection of Managed Miners
Thanks for DSTM support ...and all my Nv cards ty .... Question do you have a BTC address i can send a tip to ? .... ,like 10 bucks or so in BTC as a tip ? .. Just keep supporting the software like you already do and I will be more than happy!

Any ETA for supporting XMR-Stak's new unified version? That's pretty much all I'm running these days. I so desperately want to use Awesome Miner and XMR-Stak that I'm considering writing an adapter program to emulate Claymore so I can feed XMR-Stak's data back to Awesome Miner. But I don't want to invest that time if support for XMR-Stak will be coming in the next month or two.
I have all implementation for connecting to it as an External Miner ready, but it's currently hidden. For the moment I have given up on adding support for it as a Managed Miner because this mining software do so many strange things, for example: - It requires running as Administrator, which creates all sorts of problems when you want to auto start it or launch it from another applications. It's probably the first mining software ever that has this behavior. - It doesn't simply auto detect devices like other mining software. It looks like it tries to detect the first time and then update the configuration file, but it would be too complex for Awesome Miner to know if it will work or now. I can just imagine all the support question I will get around how this software handles its configuration file and prompting the user for input on the command line when something is missing. Even if I only support it as an External Miner, you could still add your own Managed Software, point to the XMR-Stak for API compatibility and then create a Managed Miner for this where you point to your xmr-stak.exe file. As long as Awesome Miner is running as Administrator (or you have some configuration of Windows to bypass this), it will behave like any other Managed Miner - but you are in charge of all configuration yourself. I don't mind managing the configuration myself, the main thing is I want to be able to start/stop the miner and get hash rate and coin profit. I can make the feature available within the next 1 - 2 days.
