341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: July 01, 2022, 11:12:57 AM
I guess comparison is how rare both bitcoin is, but as far as I understand it, bitcoin might be rare than gold. And we have seen this comparison in 2017, a bullish run that's why there are many articles about it even in this community.

Each one has it's own advantage, but for investment purposes, obviously, I will favor Bitcoin (BTC).

I guess this topic will probably continue for a while because people or investors want to keep convincing themselves that Bitcoin is just as good/valuable as Gold. These two entities are different and quite frankly, Bitcoin has grown in just over a very short period compared to Gold but it is still the "Gold standard" in rating everything to the highest level and when it comes to an investment as you said, I too favor Bitcoin and I remember a couple of supporting post from this thread Bitcoin VS. GOLD
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just my one cent advice on: July 01, 2022, 10:53:56 AM
Do you have any resources for the two projects you said? All I saw were these links. I'm unsure if they are related to what you posted.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dynamic/

And I can't even find anything with mohash. Lol. Can you send or post some links?
I too seriously hope that that is not one of the projects OP was talking about.
1 Day chat

ALL time chat

If people are passing judgment based on just a day's price action then they will always miss the bigger picture of where a project truly stands this is why regardless of where Bitcoins price is today, look at the whole price chat to appreciate where Bitcoin is actually headed.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops vs Bounties on: June 30, 2022, 10:08:24 AM
Talking about airdrop nowadays for me it's hard to trust and earn through airdrop cause as we know that many scam sites catch your attention to participate with them but at the end of the day, they will leave without any further notice.  And in bounty campaigns yes you can earn money by joining bounty campaign which is the tweeter, youtube and others but what they are telling is that you need to find a good one so that you can earn. But if you need good income for sure getting a job is more effective.
Right, getting a job is the proper way for a better income, however, I still believe that there are many people that are using Bounty hunting for now for their main income as they don't have other jobs if you are able to work with the right Bounty projects. That said, some bounty projects have been painful over the years and Airdrops are totally out of it cos for those that do pay, it is mostly a small amount and the number of participants with these Airdrops is mind-boggling compared to what is allocated.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does staking even make any sense on: June 30, 2022, 09:50:35 AM
How do people even enjoy staking their coins and tokens? I'm confused, yesterday I tried to stake some amount of stable coin aka USDT on Binance Exchange and it is worth 1000$ but the return on this in a year is 95$ lol, I laughed so hard that I almost flipped my laptop, why the heck people doing this?.
I believe it depends on the coin or token you are staking and most importantly the amount because you don't expect someone staking $1000 and someone staking $10,000 to get the same returns in a year however, I also believe that it also might depend on the staking site or exchange you are staking on, this site listed their 9 Best Crypto Staking Platforms in 2022

and Here, I particularly like how the sites were rated according to "best in what"

At the end of the Day, you have to do the due diligence and understand what every platform presents and what you are looking for in staking your crypto assets.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sweatcoins will be launching this summer...Is it worth it? on: June 29, 2022, 06:25:23 AM
There's an app called "Sweatcoin" which basically pays you by doing nothing other than walking. Each 1,000 steps will be equal to 1 Sweatcoin. Back then, the coin used to be proprietary from the app itself. But lately, the company took the decision to launch it as a real cryptocurrency. Apparently, the new coin will be launching this summer to be later traded at crypto exchanges. This reminds me of a similar coin that used to pay people for walking called "MangoCoinz". It didn't turn out to be a huge success, so I wonder if this new coin (Sweatcoin) will have the same fate as its predecessor?

What do you think about Sweatcoin? Is it worth walking/doing exercise just to get paid coins in return? If not, why? Do you think the project will have a future? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
I believe like some other poster here thinks, what would you lose in getting some coins for doing what you would normally do for nothing  Smiley I go for a road walk every weekend and earning some coin for that isn't bad I noticed that Sweatcoin can be used in-app shops at the moment and as you said, after launch instead of the 1k steps to 1 sweatcoin it will be 5k steps to 1 SWEAT which will be the new coin. Lets see how it goes, it doesn't take anything out of me for now Grin
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does staking even make any sense on: June 29, 2022, 05:50:24 AM
in the current bear market situation it looks like stake $1k USDT and get a return of $95 in one year is much better than holding bitcoins. just imagine if you have bitcoins worth $1k at ATH and are currently only worth around $200. sometimes something you think is bad can turn into good luck because crypto market conditions can change at any time.
I think I agree with you here. Cryptocurrency investment involved deep analysis and I don't think most people do that. In this present state of the market where most people like to convert thair crypto assets to Stablecoins, wouldn't it be better to stake those and get some or even a little bit more than just hodling them on the same amount for a whole year?
347  Economy / Economics / Re: if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ... on: June 28, 2022, 12:37:35 PM
if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ...

I think it will reach 500-1000 USD max as you can't use to sell stuff and big whales already moved their money ...

In 2019 btc was already 9000-10000 USD , do to pandemic people invested a lot  in btc.
Bitcoins price of  $9k-$10 was actually rising from its dip of $3k+ around Dec 2018 to Jan '19 after its ATH of $19k+ of Dec 2017. Thinking bitcoins price will drop to $500-$1000 isn't happening even though we want to believe we cannot predict the market. Even those that are still predicting a Bitcoin price bottom of $14k is still been contested by some talkless of $500-$1000, I am of the opinion that those prices are not happening again.
348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bear market be more significant on: June 28, 2022, 12:04:55 PM
According to some reports, some analysts have predict bitcoin price to fall further to $14000, when I calculate this, at $14000 low, this will be like the 2018, 2019 and 2020 lowest bitcoin price if compared with 2017 highest price, but according to glassnode, when bitcoin price now is still not yet to that point, they have analysed and concluded that the bear market we are now is the worst ever since bitcoin was created.

2022 bear market has been the worst on record — Glassnode

Bitcoin is not yet at $14000, is the report accurate? I think the bear market should end before any valid report. This will only result to FUD.

I do not believe in analysts but I too have calculated that before, it was not a surprise when I saw in, but we can all be right or wrong.
Well Glassnode is a reputable Blockchain analysis firm and they probably know what they are talking about but I seem to differ though I am not anything close to an analyst I do understand that in the last bear market of 2017, Bitcoin fell by -83% from its ATH and did a number of years in what we could really see as an accumulation stage before we saw a really Bull market again and this dip is still less around -74% and for those thinking Bitcoins price will still go to around $14k, we can't really confirm this to be true like the $100k prediction by some Analyst too didn't materialize. I believe we have to wait and see if this price call happens though.
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: June 28, 2022, 05:39:02 AM
Take Bitcoin as a long term investment and just forget it like it’s in a long-term investment account. Don’t let your emotions get too much into it else you might make the wrong decision and sell at the wrong time. The  best thing you can do is to not look at it, even if crypto is going up or down. That’s exactly what I do especially now that it’s dipping, I don’t want to stress over it because I believe if I hold and wait patiently Bitcoin is going to rise again.
My all time investment strategy is buying more when crypto is dipping, holding and selling back when it increases. In 2020 I bought ethereum when it was $700 and sold when it was $4000 in 2021. Within 2020 and 2021 when the price was going up and down, I decided to ignore the dip and hold on to it till I eventually sold at a good price.
This is the right time to buy more cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin because the  more people come into the market and increases their demand for it, its value continues to grow rapidly.
Well, that ought to be the way crypto investors should be looking at it but we understand this is not usually the case because not every investor have the same mind set plus this issue has been discussed many time on this forum and you would have thought people get it now.
For me, most people are not really investors but traders hence the need for they to keep reacting to every market price action which real investors will ignore when they occur because they “investors” usually have a longer time frame target and don't mind the daily, weekly and monthly price swings.

351  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Legal Tender in Panama on: June 24, 2022, 05:49:23 AM
I am not so sure I am understanding this correctly, but even if the legislation that was passed at Panama seems to be very positive and favorable for bitcoin, it does not really give it legal tender status, bitcoin can be used as a currency and businesses are free to accept it but it is optional, however if bitcoin was legal tender then businesses will actually be forced to do accept it, but in any case this is a good enough law and the fact that you do not have to pay capital gains on your bitcoin earnings will be very attractive especially for the whales that can relocate themselves to Panama.

This way is much better than forcing it on the people of panama, btc despite being around for more than a decade is still a new tech to a lot of people, some are still struggling to understand the whole concept and how to use it.
with this option in place, those who feel comfortable and understand it enough will begin to accept it as part of their payment option. one step at a time, for now smaller countries are taking the bold step. Hopefully in the near future some of the big countries will pick up the slack.
I couldn't agree with you more but at the end of the Day, whether El Salvador forced it on the citizens or not, we must continue to give El Salvador the praises that they deserve because they Boldly and courageously took that first leap which others are learning hopefully from their "Mistakes" I believe it is great news all around and Panama being a tourist destination will definitely have an impact mostly on people that haven't already understand Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grocery Stores In U.S Set To Install Bitcoin ATM on: June 24, 2022, 05:37:00 AM
Good thing for the stores. A step towards mass adoption. However, I don't think that those who are concerned about privacy would want to use these bitcoin ATMs for purchasing Bitcoin. Because from what I understand, KYC will be required. What is the difference between these bitcoin ATMs and centralized exchanges like Binance and Coinbase. Secondly, how are the fees? I heard it's quite high and that it differs from one bitcoin atm to another.
Quite frankly, I don't know when something like a Bitcoin ATM will surface around my region Smiley but thinking about this issue of KYC before being able to use one of these machines, Does it mean you have to also feed in your Docs. into these ATMs along with other needed info as we would attach DOCs to CEXs before being able to transact? how easy would this be? I mean in terms of the Docs.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why Bitcoin will never go to zero on: June 24, 2022, 05:23:23 AM

I really don't understand what can be the very reason why China would still allot some time and resources just to make a statement like that. They already kicked Bitcoin out of China so why still wade into it. Can it because they know that the government of China has not actually stamped out Bitcoin from the people...meaning that there still some number of Chinese who continually believe and hold Bitcoin? Frankly speaking, I am also getting discouraged with Bitcoin but if I have the money to do so maybe I would be buying more BTC because with this statement coming from China the opposite is actually coming: BTC will soon be gaining grounds and not grind to zero!
No doubt that China already understands what Bitcoin is and represents and they are trying by all means necessary to continue to not only stops its citizens from trading and using it, they still want to spread that same FUD to the world. Just days ago I saw this post too
Chinese messaging app WeChat bans accounts involved in crypto from this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403603.msg60418031#msg60418031
It was the Bitcoin mining Ban whose effects didn't last long then the numerous Bans which are still not having effects on Bitcoin and now is a prediction of Zero price Grin Don't worry China, me, I am prepared to take all losses if it does happen.
354  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: June 23, 2022, 05:53:11 PM
As a newbie in the crypto environment, with a keen interest in making a profitable investment in crypto, where would you best advice me to invest in 2022. Will an investment in bitcoin now still be profitable to me or investing in other coins is what you best advice? I understand that people are sometimes reserved as per not wanting to give financial advice to avoid being blamed if it goes wrong, but I will try to go through all the responses I can get and highlight the answers that are repeated for consideration.
Just like you said, people will likely not give financial advice, especially on where to invest their money, however, If I were to invest now that will mostly be on Bitcoin cos that's the one coin I have a clear certainty on that no matter how bad the market gets there is definitely a guarantee that it will recover and even if from when you invested the market started going down, as long as you are able to HODL you will be fine.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wechat tag violation rule on cryptocurrency accounts on: June 22, 2022, 02:04:28 PM
What else is new with China's bad reaction to Bitcoin and everything cryptocurrency. The Ban on Bitcoin miners I would say was the height and we have already gone past the effect of that on the Bitcoin price so I don't really think this will do any damage that what the mining Ban couldn't do and the general crypto bear market has been in effect for a while now so I don't also see this putting additional pressure on it.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is being too nice. Most people don't deserve the chance to buy it so cheap. on: June 22, 2022, 08:57:36 AM
The ones who will miss this train also might never see another. Do you really think BTC will be so cheap for the next years to come? Once it goes in the $1xx,xxx zone you better get used to it.

BTC is being too nice because most people don't deserve another chance after they had thousands of chances to buy it cheap and did nothing.

And one day BTC will leave the people who harbor doubts today. no matter how deep the bear threat makes some people give up, we need to remember that Bitcoin filters those who have lost faith to provide something extraordinary for those who still believe. Now we know who is with Bitcoin and who is pretending to support Bitcoin.

Hold on tight!!
Well, even those people "the people who harbor doubts today" of cause don't think straight. These same people that are refusing to buy now or thinking that Bitcoin is going down and cannot recover will still be the same people that will come back and buy Bitcoin when the price even goes way higher than what the price is now. During the bear market it's easy to see many fearful people and as it has been said, "No Guts No Glory" so only those that are able to HODL through the period and also buy more will be the successful ones.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, not your coins" on: June 22, 2022, 08:47:37 AM
The thing is.... people are so used to the convenience of centralized services, because they used centralized services in the Fiat system (Banks) and they trust these services, because it is backed by governments. (Governments give bailouts when they fail)

They think large (regulated) Crypto exchanges give them the same security that Banks and other regulated financial institutions give them, but they are wrong. These centralized services are the main focus point for hackers and also for corrupt governments... and they can lose access to their coins at any given moment.  Roll Eyes
Agreed. But apart from your reason given, I believe that there are other reasons why people might want to continually leave their crypto assets on centralized exchanges. Of cause, they know this is risky but maybe the opportunity to easily trade-off these assets when needed I believe might be a reason. Also, I think most of the people that do have their assets on CEXs might not have enough to store on a hardware wallet in terms of cost Analysis however, for those that have the number of crypto assets and don't think of storing them outside the CEX must have a good reason and are willing to take the risk.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8 months low, no better time than now. on: June 22, 2022, 08:09:47 AM
So much have been in the fore play in Bitcoin and to that a lot of issues have forced Bitcoin to behave in the current behavior, from sec calling Bitcoin an anti-environment and eco friendly even though we know all this are campaign of fallacy championed by anti Bitcoin crusader.
8 months low? I thought this was 18 months low right? We have never seen bitcoin going less than 30k since last December as far as i can probably remember. I am sure it is not because of this anti environment fallacy and definitely not because of fed doing some random things with dollar because if that would have been the reason I am sure bitcoin would have pumped instead of going down. It's just mere market manipulations that are going on and won't stop until there is some good bullish consolidation.

I believe Op was referring to the Bitcoin price from the last ATH which is actually more like 7 months as we can see however, I do believe that the price continues downward is more of the usual market manipulation even though we cannot rule out the Fed influence as well. The market witnessed new kinds of investors over the past year and most of these investors are more from financial institutions and are also quick to react to Fed news which can also negatively affect the Bitcoin price.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Crossed 20k USD!! Don’t lose hope now. on: June 21, 2022, 05:37:12 PM
In my opinion I think that we had bottomed at around 17k+ lots of people are still expecting more dump I won't be surprised if they are disappointed that bitcoin will not go back to such price again for now, the pump from 17k to 20k is huge, now the major resistance is at 24k, once this is broken then probably we might be out of the bear market temporary
Right, most of us will want to see things go that way but we understand that even if the price of $17k was the bottom, it doesn't translate automatically to a V-shaped recovery of the market and it might even be that as some have speculated, the market might still drop below the previous low of $17k which is possible but in all, these are just good point to add some more to the bags.
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 21, 2022, 10:55:30 AM
This call is not just for newbies but this is for everybody. Maybe for old-timers, this is not hard but still, many of them have not appreciated the word HOLD, it is somehow they got influenced by their negativity. In fact, looking back on the surge of panic selling in the last bear season, it can't be possible if we still don't value this thing (hold) this time.

I think this was the time to open up our mind and think about what we can help the market as panic selling never contribute positively but rather seeing negative results. We don't just ask but to encourage everyone to become strong and let this bear season pass worrying about nothing.
Yeah, HODLing should be the thing but Bitcoin "investors" have a different level of responsibilities and sustainability which I believe contributes to their reaction to the market whenever they see a dip in the market. I saw in another post some days ago where someone said, "The Rich will keep being Rich and the Poor gets Nothing" or maybe not in those exact words but that's what S(he) meant. Investors will be more relaxed about market dips if they have other means for financial sustainance so I don't think rich Bitcoin Investors react the way other average-level investors do. Even though people know not to invest what they cannot afford to lose, people still want to invest in Bitcoin and will do so with the little income they have hoping to make a profit and a slight turn of the market will make them panic sell.
