Looks like GOX trustees dumped $500 million this summer and it hit the exchanges bringing the price down rapidly. Seems to be what caused the 9500-7500 fall.
Really? Source? Unconfirmed photos. In other news, a rare sighting of a Phoenix was reported late last night. Turned out to just be a Raptor engine test fire for SpaceX as work on the Starship continues. If you ever get a chance to see rockets light off I highly recommend it, very energetic, very loud. dont blow your speakers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAAzbjG_Duc

https://ocean.builders/first-seastead-has-been-set-up-in-international-waters/Ocean Builders has built a spar design seastead over the past several months which consists of a large steel cylinder that sits vertically in the water with a fiberglass platform sitting atop the spar which acts as the living space. The spar was placed into the water on January 3rd and the platform placed in the water a week later in preparation for this event. +1 WOsMerit We have been receiving some unconfirmed reports and a blurry cctv image as to a possible reason for the slow down at the Wall. Rumors abound over hats and someone apparently named 'stella. We will get back to you as soon as we have any updates on this developing story.

过年好Good morning all and a Happy Chinese New Year. ------ Bitcoin continues to hover and trade in a narrow channel at support levels on falling volume. Key resistance at $3.45k is going to have to be defended or further downward trending could happen. That being said I think we will see increasing volume over the next week or so as the thought of getting out of the bear market and into sideways mode finally starts to sink in. So in a nut shell..the next 24 hours are critical gentlemen. #dyor 3h D #stronghands

Post Superbowl LIII report. Patriots win again over the Rams 13-3 in a defensive battle with the 16 points combined setting the record for lowest in history . While perhaps not to everyones taste, I thought it was still a pretty good smash mouth kinda game as both teams defenses put forth heroic efforts. The bitcoin market has kinda reflected that...low scoring, not a lot of action and that equals a small spinning top and low volume as we begin a new week of trading. 1h D

We continue working to breaking above the resistance at the 0.5 fib. The battle however is still in the trenches at the 0.382 where we search for sustained support. Despite not having broken above that 0.5 we have managed a series of higher lows on the daily chart so far which may be indicating building support levels. Also of note is the marked drop in volume , usually a precursor to dynamic action. #dyor 1h D #stronghands'19

We finish out the trading day with a strong recovery and pleasant green candle on the hourly. 1h Explosive blow off top candle and a rare orphan as we begin to search for support above the 0.382 fib 4h

Looks to be about a 5 iron to me, best take another shwack at it and see if we can get it closer to the green...FORE! 1h Significant confluence of resistance has been building at the 0.382 fib on the 4 hour chart. Breaking $3.45k and finding support above those levels is the area that needs challenged for the next leg upwards. Failing that hopefully support remains strong at the 0.236 fib level of $3.4k as there is a rising sense of momentum forming in the market. #dyor 4h #stronghands'19

Man oh man oh man. I have been running a few lightning nodes for a long time (I actually had one of the first 200 on main net)... but to be honest I have not done a ton of lightning transactions. I mean I bought the requisite reckless stickers from blockstream last year and did a lot of silly shit on satoshis.place, but I quit moving bitcoin around just for fun years ago. So tonight I have just been horsing around... and I feel like it's 2011. I have 2 lightning wallets on my phone, and am running Zap on a PC and lnd on a little server... I have been sending about 3 millions sats around from my phone to my phone to my desktop to my little server to my phone etc. IT IS INSTANT!!! Usually the receiving wallet says it has the payment before the sending wallet knows it's gone! And as soon as I get it I can spend it, and it costs basically NOTHING. The people who are clamoring about how this will become centralized are wrong. It will be distributed, and there will be some big hubs for liquidity... and those hubs will compete for fees and there will not be much incentive to charge a lot. It just hadn't sunk in 'till tonight. This is going to change the world, gentlemen. It's a kludgy mess right now, but as they add features to this it is going to become a monster. AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE BITCOIN. On chain is on chain forever. Lightning doesn't change that. What it changes is the future. If you have not tried it. you need to fucking try it. You need to set up two nodes and send sats back and forth. This is gentlemen. +1 WOsMerit Umm..you are not wrong. But when they said gentlemen I was thinking more like this.

Testing the waters. Lets see who has stronghands 1h 4h *edit* some typos in that first sentence..guess that bottle of wine is working. You get the point I think anyway. Regardless of these local highs and lows I think the time to be afraid is past. We are at or near the bottom, everyone knows it. Now and over the next several months is the time to acquire as much coin as you can in a manner that fits your risk profile. #dyor

Many sci-fi movies depict future as being heavy-metal and/or heavily into gold. Examples: "Chronicles of Riddick" (Necromonger civi), "Stargate", many others. Asteroid mining would explain the rationale. On the other hand, plastics would be more difficult to come by in the future since they are made from oil or natural gas, which is definitely in less supply than asteroid iron/nickel/gold at the near earth orbits. Speaking of NEOs..apparently a small meteor struck Cuba earlier. No reported injuries so far and the authorities said to be sending a team to investigate. https://twitter.com/NWSKeyWest?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Little triangles. Who wants to take a dip? 1h Bigger triangles. We are still testing resistance against the 0.382 fib. A breakout above this would head us towards the psychological barrier of $3.5k and the next area of resistance, the 0.5 fib. Failing that I think we would be testing support levels at the 0.236 fib shortly. D #stronghands

-snipped- [qoute]For the past weeks, we have worked extensively to address our liquidity issues, which include attempting to locate and secure our very significant cryptocurrency reserves held in cold wallets, and that are required to satisfy customer cryptocurrency balances on deposit, as well as sourcing a financial institution to accept the bank drafts that are to be transferred to us. Unfortunately, these efforts have not been successful. Further updates will be issued after the hearing. Oh my..this doesnt sound good. How the hell do you lose the cold wallets? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiot_defenseThe term was popularized as a result of a number of high-profile corporate accounting scandal defendants claiming that all wrongdoing was performed by others, without the defendant's knowledge or consent. Attorneys for these defendants claimed that their skill was in valuation and deal-making, and that they lacked the training to recognize fraudulent accounting practices they claimed that they would have needed. However, in many cases the defendants' subordinates testified that the defendants ordered them to falsify the accounts.
