Buckle up

-snip-

No shill quotes please..

Quote
Its CEO is Roger Ver. Ver gained control of bitcoin.com domain in April of 2014. It was previously operated by Blockchain.info. In May 2015 OKCoin has announced that the company will no longer be managing the domain bitcoin.com, due to a dispute with the domain owner, Roger Ver.

And even if you were not quoting that sociopath's rag..so what?  How is this good news?  Some local court ruling that bitcoin has value. Surprise..

Anyone use Genesis Trading?

I do. Minimum buy/sell of $75k though.
I like that. That means much more dedicated support for me instead having to wait behind 1,000,000 people with $100 on bitstamp/coinbase.
Like the trollbox filter on btc-e(or whatever it is these days)...keep the peons pushed down says I.
What if its 10 people trying to set up 100,000 accounts instead? Make massive nano accounts...instead of botnet..you have accountbotnet1.0 for market manipulation.

Dont get me wrong here..I think the global awareness of bitcoin and crypto is at ath..and millions of legit accounts are being opened. But a bad actor(s) trying to avoid kyc compliance...well...10,000 $100 accounts...

You get the picture.

It's spelled "gravity", or (((gravity))).

"For Bob Barker, the price is sometimes wrong." Mom say's.

- I feel like I am devolving from BTC price speculation down to random brainstorming regarding energy generation speculation with little to no grounding.    Cry Cry
I am detecting some cognitive dissonance reading thru the last several pages.

What else is new in regards to this thread?

What the fuck is this nist place and why does it have any importance?

National Institute of Standards and Technology

you know...the people with the clock on 10MHz

And the same who invented the "pancake theory" of 9/11, I seem to remember.

News flash!  Gravity actually works!   who woulda thunk...

They sound absolutely delightful.

What do they have to do, or what can they do, with Bitcoin? What does Bcash gain from sending them silly emails?

Well.."they" can do what ever the hell they like of course..but this is an actually fairly important "spoke" in the nonmesh topology of the government.
The "hub" that NIST connects to is the US Dept. of Commerce. "Among its tasks are gathering economic and demographic data for business and government decision-making."
Seeing that "they" receive accurate and unbiased information about the history, the current state and the political in-fighting of bitcoin is probably a good idea.

4288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 29, 2018, 09:02:32 PM
This claim of BCash being the original bitcoin is not correct in any way, technically or otherwise, except perhaps to retroactively spin historical facts to suit the bcash self promoting false narrative.
Its really quite disgusting. "What is history, but a fable agreed upon?"

This is just a draft of an internal report, which open for comments, and it seems they already fixed the obvious error:
https://twitter.com/nerdgirlnv/status/957982195787771910
Thanks for that..looks like you can respond and send corrections directly here nistir8202-comments@nist.gov

I can buy into this.  This theory would remove some of the responsibility from the bcash gang and place it on heavier hands.  I mean... if we are going "tin foil hat" we might as well go full tin foil hat.
Good, but don't rush it too much. One tinfoil roll at a time makes it.
My take on it is they(bcash manipulators and shills) realize the gig is up..they have known and now are making an exit into forthcoming forks in preparation for future pump and dumps.

4289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 29, 2018, 07:39:12 PM
I mean... BTC is pretty much obligated to touch $12k now.

ikr...it was a nice weekend for me. Actually got out and finished some chores. Boat is almost ready to be splashed for spring.

Not sure where all this friction is coming from..but the market it straining at the leash to go up. Not sure if its residual down pressure from events last week(read NEM hack) or if we just got caught up in the typical weekend dump where the two forces basically cancelled each other out.

All in all looks like a bullish week is ahead.

Bitcoin cash is the original block chain?? I am fairly certain the information in that image is just wrong. Segwit activation did not cause a hardfork, it motivated it.
I don't think they are that incompetent at the NIST. The blunder may be intentional.

Technically..pro spin.

"Treatment can help, but this condition can't be cured."

$12000 in 6 hours confirmed

Hey Mate! Is this what your beloved optimism chart say?
I know it can do better than that: am I right?  Wink

I agree with this one.  Cool
as a matter of fact it is. Unfortunately I don't have 200 million dollars to make it happen. something in my gut tells me $12000 is not that far away once the tether fud has subsided.

Finally... the return of the optimism charts.  Only a few hours remaining and $12k seems so far away.  I'll remain optimistic though.

should be heading for 12.3 anytime.

$200 spread now between GDAX and Bitstamp & Bitfinex. Kraken and Gemini are finding middle-ground.

WTF Coinbase ?!

Y'know, it always feels like a fkn week or two can't go by until some other FUD with Bitcoin starts to brew. It's like we can't just have a normal market, they have to keep playing these fucking games all the fkn time.

I'm already bracing for it.

50 coin closer...   its going up..get ready.  should be heading for 12.2-12.3 anytime.

Bids are still growing while asks have remained relatively stable. Someone wave to Bob as we go by please...
Worried about cowboys chasing you?  Tongue

Wouldnt you be?  I mean ffs..the man said no lube.

I for one hope we can all wave to Bob soon. He seems too stressed for someone on the brink of early retirement with a bag full of BTC. The man deserves some relaxation.  Grin
He does. And I think he will be all right very soon.
But I was slightly and nastily suggesting that Toxic might have a problem with the "some relaxation" issue while Bob's on horseback and his bf is away ;-)

Zero problem. He is generous enough to share what he is experiencing with all of us. I think that is wonderful. Lol..Bob and I both know that I only wish the best for him. I take shots at him for probably the opposite of what you think. Because he is one of the best here able to take such repartee.

The myopic diatribe that comes from the minds of some of these children bugs me.

@mfort312   extrapolating those doubling floor dates and time periods could be quite interesting.  Instead of 90 what would 183(or any of the other previous numbers)days look like. Looking the exact dates is probably also worth investigation.

...waiting for Roger to introduce MeritCash™

The merit system is being censored by all the small-blockers!

First we need a touring complete merit. Lets build it in flash so it'll be extra shiny and the noobs will buy it.  Grin

+1 WOsMerit sent!

holy WTF happened to my merit...lol

Obviously merit is a bubble...

Not a bubble.  A ponzi.  Note the urging to not hoard, but reinvest all Merit, before decay!

But, then where are the thousands of merit referral links? The scattered sponsored merit posts on facebook? I havent even seen a YouTube advertisement of some guy walking through his shitty apartment bragging about how he makes merit work for him and I should too.

Wait for it.  We've barely completed the phase 2 airdrop.

holy WTF happened to my merit...lol

WTF is right! I want my pity merits back  Cheesy
all I got left man...been handing them out pretty freely,  went on the Armory support board and spent a bunch on the folks doing the thankless work there

Alright..enough is enough...im forking these. From now on we will have WOsMerits..these badboys are multisig, segwit, bip 91 compliant..no premine...
