You guys are all veering into cats? What about the Bitcoin Bomb Threat? "Gimme $20,000 of BTC, or I'll blow up something. Somewhere."

https://news.google.com/search?q=bitcoin%20bomb%20threat&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US%3Aen

I've only casually glanced, haven't found the public address. It would be interesting to see how many suckers paid.

Here we have it, high quality media report about the recent dump.  Undecided

Quote
Bitcoin plunged more than 6% to near $US3,300 a coin after the New York Police Department said that bomb threats that have been emailed around the country Thursday afternoon were made by someone demanding bitcoin

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/bitcoin-price-bomb-threats-demand-crypto-for-ransom-2018-12

Apparently multiple emails in several cities, states and possibly countries from what I can gather. MSM is of course milking it for all its worth. CNN was "forwarded" this email supposedly. This false flag is obviously being perpetrated by a nocoiner with nefarious at worst, slanderous at best intentions. No bitcoiner worth he's salt would touch outputs from that(such) address(s).

In fact I am wondering if there is any correlation between hodlers and cat owners which would make this discussion perfectly on topic Tongue

Do not look to deeply into the abyss...least it take umbrage and look back. We wish for you to believe you are in control still.

Yesterday I uploaded this graph, I was wondering if you think 3000 can be a good support, You see it possible, are we talking about the same thing?

Yes..I believe we are talking about the same thing. I just searched through the charts until I found a price point that backed up my narrative. Simple really.

Well..how about them apples?     Shocked     $2975.01 soma  Kiss

This is what drew my attention as a probable support area. #dyor

Because this appears to be a knee-jerk reaction to the attacks that are happening on an alt chain or possibly the attacks are coordinated and are truly aimed at bitcoin. Regardless it appears "they" lack the ammunition to push the price down further.

Another retrace of familiar ground for bitcorn today. Bears have pushed the USD price down towards the yearly ATL once again. I think unless we break downwards again sharply below the -0236 fib on the hourly there is not much to see here except to buy those dips. This is also a possible set up for a nice double bottom imho.  #dyor

The first time I post here, look forward to comments from everyone.Thank you everyone for watching!

This is a bad first post, and you should feel bad for making it.

Bob...you have obviously been slacking on your training regimen. Must Rick be notified?

There is an excellent article which I read which explains why odds are stacked against shorts in the long run.  Shorting is always a short term play.  I am going to try to find it.

hope you can find it, like to read it Smiley

I think that you're being emotional and shouldn't invest at all if you can't handle massive red candles. Selling now is like buying at >15k. Now is not the time to sell, but to keep cost averaging in.

There is no guarantee that bitcoin will really bounce back one day . I believe it will, but I am totally unqualified.

Putting more money is foolish, if you already put all the money you have reserved for high risk assets.

In past it bounced from much lower marketcap, much lower media attention, much lower infrastructure (exchanges, media, wallets, ATMs, stores that accept etc).

It's not certain that it will ever reach 10k again. I believe it will, as everyone here. But how much are you willing to bet that it will? That's he point.
If you already put all that money in that's on you for not keeping enough powder dry. But regardless of how much fiat you have available, selling after a ~90% drop is anything but sensible, especially when that's roughly been the turning point for most assets that plunged and didn't die. Market cap is irrelevant too by the way, at least in the peanut amounts that we are at right now. Apple is still 10x the size of Bitcoin. And that's just one company. Bitcoin is well positioned to become the backbone of future finance.

Just as you said that buying at 15k is stupid, in future selling at 3500 could be a great deal. What is it goes to 1500.? That's a 100 gain if I buy back.
The point is that we're already down 90% and the probability of going down further decreases exponentially as we go down. You're just falling victim to the gambler's fallacy right now.

Edit: What if it goes down to $1? It was $1 before, I could sell one Bitcoin and make 3500 Bitcoins! (fat chance)

Edit2: Invest some money in a book on investing and balancing portfolios. Read it, study it. Everything you post cements the fact that you're just gambling based on emotions. Emotions that traders use to take your money and make profits.

The point is that we're already down 90% and the probability of going down further decreases exponentially as we go down. You're just falling victim to the gambler's fallacy right now.

Agreed. It's an absolute classic noob move but it's also 100% understandable. It's how regular human minds work.

Unfortunately the people you're trading against know this and do not have regular human minds.

Absolutely!
I could sell everything now & I’d still be massively up on what I originally invested. The thing is though, you just know if I do that the price will go to $6,000 or $7,000 & I’d end up buying back half the amount I currently own which would be fucking retarded.

This. If you want to sell you do it on the way up, not on the way down.

Ahhhhhhhh

Thank you millionaire, gentlemad and lfcbitcoin

I will hold this shit until it goes up. You are right.

Thanks

Salutations WO's

Still traversing the same basic channel between $3.2k and $3.7k it seems. Until we break out one way or another its snafu imho.
Mid to long I believe its still a excellent time for accumulation, short term as explained above..waiting for a clearer signal. #dyor

Random thoughts

This is cathartic for me so I apologize in advance for the off-topic-ness. This year..and especially the last month has been a constant assault on my consciousness. Sometimes you just need to let it out.

--------

I moved out of California decades ago.. I never really missed it that much to be honest. I have relatives still living down there..but it became just a nice place to visit and I had and have no desire to ever go back. Until recently.
The Camp fire that destroyed Paradise also burned down the cabin where I grew up. It burnt the forests and creeks that I played in as a child. It burnt it all to ash..
I am still having trouble absorbing this and dealing with the reality of it. Time heals all wounds so they say.

-------

Sitting here half in my cup thinking about how blessed I have been in my life. Today I took a spill down the back staircase..landed hard on my arm. Thought I'd broke it again.but luckily its just a deep contusion(bruise). After spending several hours in the ER it dawned upon me once again that your health is what is really important in this life. All of this realization came while I sat there watching the chaos that is a busy metro emergency room. The couple in the corner worrying over domestic violence charges..the junkie talking to himself under the TV..overworked nurses scurrying to and fro with hooded eyes. The bottom line is your family, friends and good health are fundamental. Everything else is dross upon the sands of time.

---------

Its been one year to the day since my father passed.

I miss you Dad. You meant more to me than words can describe. You were a inspiration on so many levels it still blows my mind. Thank you for everything.

--------

I find myself listening to this a couple times a day..tears are never far behind.

"Dear Mister Fantasy play us a tune
Something to make us all happy
Do anything take us out of this gloom
Sing a song, play guitar, make it snappy
You are the one who can make us all laugh
But doing that you break out in tears
Please don't be sad if it was a straight mind you had
We wouldn't have known you all these years"

A couple of perk's and a bottle of wine and look who waxes eloquent..

Be kind when you dont have to, you might be surprised at the results.

Peace

Aye. I started warming up mid/late 2013. Had I warmed up six months earlier Calvin Ayre would be farting on my breasts right now. The gains have still been very good. An early 2013er is full no shits given in comparison. Hopefully everyone who hangs in there long enough gets to not give a shit too some day.

Not needing to give a shit has been postponed for myself at least.

Some would pay good coin to see this I am sure.

I dunno about you guys, but I've had just about enough of this capitulation nonsense.

I'm taking off my hat until we're at least back above $5k.

Fuck Jihan Wu, Roger Ver, Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre right in their ear-holes.

Hurumph....  Brace, Brace, Brace!

The Cloud tested once again followed with a weak rejection. A couple of twists cover the next few days but I am not hodling my breath. Every chance of a break upwards has been met with fierce resistance from the Bear camp. I dont see anything changing here.  #dyor

Hello all.

As the week draws to a end we have had mixed trading with fairly active volumes. A couple of massive candles over the last 48 hours have taken bitcoin back above the $3.5k mark with sights set higher for the coming week.

Almost thru resistance as shorts continue to close. Strong hands will be needed thru the night.

A strong move upwards and above resistance. Looks like a breakout starting?

I am expecting this coming week to be pretty volatile with a mostly upwards and sideways tendency.

Morning all.

Approaching cloud cover hangs heavy overhead on the 30m chart. Either a breakout upwards or a decline to test $3k seems to on tap for the moment. It would be nice to see a weekend rally but there will be no breath holding for the now.

You know, when you're the last whale standing in a thin bear market, and you have lots of coins and $$$, I'm sure it's pretty easy to push the market around in any direction you want. For however long you want.

That direction only ends when that person or group decides it should, or gets mega squeezed.

They are just dangling there....its tempting no?

Good morning guys.

Capitulation continues as another round of sell offs rages through the Cryptosphere. Bitcoin has reached a new 14 month low of $3.3k following a day of trading on declining volumes.
