Testing the tenkan san on the 4 hour chart. Support is very thin for the next 24 hours it appears. I can see a draw down towards the inverse bat signal happening after this weekend. However, support continues to build in the $3.65k range.
Likely to trade in a narrowing channel with lighter volumes until after the holidays. #dyor

There definitely shaping up to be strong correlation with the 2013-2015 cycle as has been noted by many. Have to see how January plays out with taxes and potentially bakkt. A eerily close fit would be on or around Feb. 1st at $2.45k or so. followed with 7 to 8 months of sideways followed with a new Bullrun and ATH. That being said it seems support is strong at the estimated mining profitability range of $3.8k+

I personally think that it will be similar but not exactly the same and hopefully we have seen the bottom already. #dyor

In other news the monthly candle just wicked back to green.

Also the largest transfer of crypto has happened apparently.

Are we starting to see people FOMO'ing?
Have no fucking idea. I am with my date tonight  and I am confused where should I concentrate more my btc or naked girl laying beside me.

Lets look at this mathematically:

0 BTC + 1 Naked Girl Now = 0 BTC + 1 Naked Girl Later (maybe)
X BTC + 0 Naked Girls Now = X/2 BTC + X² Naked Girls Later

The latter formula reduces itself to:

BTC=2XNG where X is the number of BTC now and NG is whatever it is.
perhaps second variable is needed.

You're right. We can make this a collaborative project.

ha ha, JK
Here:
NG=xe^[(btc price)/ai]
where i=(1.0+b)^y
x=number of btc
a-$ number needed to attract one ng (an independent variable  Grin).
i=inflation
b=yearly inflation (in decimals)
y= number of years passed

Good morning folks.

Bitcoin has rallied above $4k and seems ready to climb higher. I think we will see another solid day of gain's upwards towards $4.2kish and beyond. The 0.786 fib is in sight at $4.55k and I would not be surprised to see a bounce off of it and then a possible pull back to the 0.618 for consolidation. #dyor

None of the kid's' could figure what this was...oh well. My Trump in the lower left above didn't go ever so well either.

As Marcus mentioned, we are now at or approaching positive ROI for mining again. Seems good to me. I think we will see the price consolidate in this range for the next few days or so.

Happy Holiday's everyone.

Hello fellow basket cases.
I've been following this thread for a while now, but this is my first post here.

Welcome.

Keep your eyes on the facts: https://twitter.com/aarontaycc/status/1074726598702551040?s=19

"Have assessed dozens of compelling arguments, charts and ratios for BTC having already bottomed, a 3K bottom, 2.5K bottom, 1K bottom etc.

Fact is nobody knows. All I know is price is 84% lower than a year ago and fundamentals have never looked better."

Edit: some more food for thought: https://twitter.com/zaoyang/status/1074634081713971200?s=19

Thanks, I agree.

I am not sure why the rally's upward feel so good with bitcoin, but its undeniable imho.

Congratulations player one..you leveled up!  Breakout and retrace back to $3.6kish. Probable consolidation at the 0.786 fib. Full Bull to the 1.618 and $3.8k+ is in sight.

memory and attention decay

+2 WOsMerit

That was fast...as usual.   Wink

Quote
Abstract

Collective memory and attention are sustained by two channels: oral communication (communicative memory) and the physical recording of information (cultural memory). Here, we use data on the citation of academic articles and patents, and on the online attention received by songs, movies and biographies, to describe the temporal decay of the attention received by cultural products. We show that, once we isolate the temporal dimension of the decay, the attention received by cultural products decays following a universal biexponential function. We explain this universality by proposing a mathematical model based on communicative and cultural memory, which fits the data better than previously proposed log-normal and exponential models. Our results reveal that biographies remain in our communicative memory the longest (20–30 years) and music the shortest (about 5.6 years). These findings show that the average attention received by cultural products decays following a universal biexponential function.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41562-018-0474-5    Might be paywalled.  :/

This graph lines up nicely with halvening's. It could very well indicate that 2020 will be the "goto" year for Bitcoin. Where as the communicative and cultural memory peak along with price to take us mainstream. Where bitcoin "entered" this plot line is open for much debate because interest really didn't peak within the first year of launch..hardly anyone knew about it then. I do however like the pulse's that occur every 2 to 4 years.

What I think is important here is that there might be a finite amount of time for something to stay in the focus of the general population.  This is neither bullish or bearish, its purely speculation. It might not even be relevant until bitcoin reaches full adoption. Regardless it is filled with nice maths.
3639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2018, 06:35:08 PM
Hey nerds, Bitcoin is pretty much dead. Because some teen crypto kiddie says so.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/bitcoin-is-pretty-much-dead-says-teenage-crypto-phenom-2018-12-14?siteid=yhoof2&yptr=yahoo

I love how MarketWatch is now interviewing 13 year olds for their investing advice. Keeping it classy and professional there, MW? Mmm hmm. I've got a 7 year old niece they should interview next.

   I hate the way the story is sold where this kid buys Bitcoin with a $1000 gift from his grandma and it made him rich because...

-snip-

 Oh yeah I forgot about the bet he made with his parents about going to college... if you can believe the stories. He had a GPA of 2.1 (yeah right) - who gets into college with that kind of GPA other than top tier athletes and kids with rich alumni parents?  His story seems mostly contrived.

I can see this turning into a cluster rapidly. Read: Lawyers

I wonder how and where he purchased he's coins. Being only 12 or so at the time of purchase...can that be legal? I do as many probably and skip over the TOS for using a exchange but you would think they would have a legal age clause or some such.

This time looks real? Any idea what happened? BAKKT effect?

Occam's Razor. Or, my personal favorite. Charlie Lee is buying back into ltc to give everyone a nice xmas.

It means Toxic2040 is Huck Finn irl  Wink

Winter Coho run is just beginning.  Smiley

[img -snip- img]http://This grey bearish orderblock is the key level
If price rejects the midrange (yellow line)
we go down
If price is able to break the yellow line and retests it as support we have a trend change and I will flip bullish
But I remain bearish until that happens
We have a lot of broken support that now acts as resistance
So a lot of buying pressure is needed
Blue line is the weekly open

The Goose throwing down some charts. Bullish.

Orbital nodes would be interesting. Also..LEO seems ideal for mining operations. Unlimited solar power and heat dissipation. Not to mention chip performance operating at low temps.

--------------

What do you guy's think about this chart? Ill take some guesses and speculation on it and then explain its meaning and possible correlation if interested. A clue..spikes at the 8-10 year and 12 and 14 areas.

p.s. Broke thru resistance at $3.45k and looking for support.

3640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2018, 04:37:27 PM
Noice.

I don't know IF or for how long $3000 will hodl as a hard support but from now it hasn't even been properly tested. So, for the little amounts I trade nowadays (I am mostly ALL in), I will keep reloading near $3000 and selling the bounces. Rinse and repeat.

Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat...

This is where you give the pole small twitches to induce a strike...

What does that mean?

I dont know.  However, what I was implying is this appears to be a well orchestrated attempt to induce a fomo rally. I bought it..but I am not buying it...does that make sense? Finding solid support in this area and then continuing into the $4.2k+ range would start to convince me. This will probably be a exciting week for traders..dont get me wrong..but I am waiting for confirmation of my bias.
