Getting back on topic... anyone else noticing solid support gathering between the $10k to $11k range?

Roughly 2,400 BTC  from 11k to 10k on GDAX. I've been watching support grow all day in that range. I'm feeling optimistic about the next 96 hours.

*Edit* Just noticed the 1,000+ BTC wall at the magical Masterluc $7,700 mark.  Quite the following.

Hes keeping a pretty fierce schedule..looks tired today. Still keeping it real. But dude..your set man....wtf. Either green screen it or get some new freakin pics in the background.
4304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2018, 01:54:28 AM

It’s too much land for any one company. My guess is they are developers building a blockchain city.

Crazy amount. My first thought was mining consortium..commercial power rates are not terrible in Storey County. Second thought is its probably just a good real estate purchase. Build what you need and lease out or just hodl until later. Land that might be the next Silicon Valley..once California breaks off into or is drowned beneath the Pacific Ocean.

Ok, this dogmatic adherence to this triangle pattern is just really stupid. I guess it's all bots in control...

I've been fucking nauseous all day today. This rollercoaster ride is starting to get to me  Embarrassed

Looks like things are heading upwards though... again... then probably back down again...

I should just vomit already. I'm a mess.

Cowboy up.

Bearwhale, is that you?

*snicker*

Just because.

I told you to stop flying your drone over my yard.  Next time I shoot it down.

4308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 10:26:32 PM
Ok..lets take a look at PM's...heck..dollars or seashells..any physical store of value.

The problem I have is that advancements in 3D printing have reached beyond the micro scale and into the nano scale. I dont think it will be to long(<100 years?)before replicators are a thing.

Deep dive.

The idea of being able to materialize any object out of thin air, as the metaphor suggests, is a bit tough to wrap ones mind around. First, understand that quantum mechanics tells us that there is not really such a thing as empty space. Even in a vacuum, ultra-tiny particles can be found constantly coming into existence for extremely short periods of time. Although these particles are quickly annihilated when they collide with a corresponding anti-particle made from antimatter, they nevertheless exist ... and in the moment when they do exist they seemingly emerge "out of thin air."

Now imagine if you had a super-intense laser(which shot pure electromagnetic energy)that was strong enough to rip these tiny particles away from their anti-particles so that they didn't collide. If they don't collide, then they won't get annihilated. So in other words, such a laser would make it possible to end up with real particles with mass just by shooting your laser (pure energy) into a void region of space.

And it just so happens that such a laser is in the works. A major European project is now building the most powerful laser ever generated, known as the Extreme Light Infrastructure, or ELI. This laser will be able to provide beams with a power of 10 PW (or 10,000,000,000,000,000 watts), which is orders of magnitude (10 times, to be exact) more powerful than any existing laser facilities.

More importantly, ELI should be strong enough to produce particles out of a vacuum. While generating a handful of particles is a long way from generating a convincing steak and lobster dinner, the technology at least makes "Star Trek"-like replicators conceivable as a real-life possibility. They can no longer be dismissed merely as a convenient fiction for sci-fi writers. That's kind of exciting, if not downright mind-bending.

As Arthur C. Clarke once famously said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

Here are some relevant articles about MIP's and biological printing which is at the cutting edge of this technology.

Some people go on about crypto and transaction speed...and convenience..oh..let me scan that QR code.. and zip!
Most of these things are not what attracts me to bitcoin..its having the immutable proof that what I hodl is not a counterfeit.
Do I think having a diversifiied portfolio is a bad thing?  Heck no...Do I think physical money and PM's are going away...probably not..but there will come a time when it will be in jeopardy due to technology.

4309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 08:50:21 PM
it's got me thinking

Stop that...stop that right now!
4310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 06:43:30 PM
To your point, the portfolio that has been prepared for me is quite diverse and (relatively) safe; one of the reasons I'm not hesitating on my Q1 workforce exit. The peeps that prepared it for me are seasoned pros.

I bought 2 lots here in the fall of '15..

For about 110-150sf you can have what ever type of palapa to hacienda you can dream up.

4312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 08:03:47 AM

Just ordered a Lenovo x3100 M5 with 4 x 4 TB hot-swap drives running RAID 10, to run my new bitcoind and lnd node.

Will be running Ubuntu.

Fun project I'm looking towards. Figure I'll fund the LN node with 2 BTC and see what happens.

Nice...I might look at some AMD boxes with Meltdown and Spectre going on tho. You can get cheap Opteron mircoservers for next to nothing if you dont want to throw a Threadripper together.
And Bob..start with a smaller amount at first obv  Tongue
4313  Economy / Speculation / Re: I missed the boat :( on: January 26, 2018, 07:40:15 AM
I missed to buy bitcoin when it dipped to $9K. Then I missed it again at $10k thinking it might go down to $9k again. And now, I am waiting for $10k but it seems that it will not go below $11k again. I must be the biggest idiot in crypto world Sad

Cost averaging is nice when you are unsure what price you want to enter a market. Figure out how much you want to spend...divide it into fourths(or what ever %'s you want)..buy a block over the next 4 hours(days or weeks works here too) now you have averaged your cost over that time frame. Works just as well exiting a market also. Perhaps your target price will come to fruition at some point as well..you never know.

Ver is a sociopath. Has been for years...does hes best to screw over bitcoin every chance he gets.
Over 100 LN nodes running now..20% of all nodes now SegWit and growing. Ver is a sociopath.

What's that saying, our mind is like a parachute. It works better if it's open.
Indeed..even my most bultard moments I try to stay impartial. Hard to do...

world changing disruptive tech. File storage. Decentralized databases. Privacy. Libraries? Real estate
All good bets and ripe for development I am thinking.

you could say you fire a shotgun, you will hit one of these 1% wonder coins.
I will take those odds.

hodl
Enough said.

Even Litecoin has a purpose. It's a Bitcoin testnet on a live mainnet with value. Because the Bitcoin testnet itself is supposed to be valueless and it's been reset a few times in the past, and idiots attempted to trade testnet coins.
I like to think this is a hidden gem. So many do not realize that.

Still working on getting to triple digits ..
The right path.

some of these comments are in an exaggerated form of fun
Its certainly fun. Its a chess match I feel privileged to participate in.

So, yeah, we should worry for bob.... hahahahahhahaha  Problems of the .01%, no?
because I have plenty of coins myself....
I think we all beat around the bush a bit when it comes to just out and out saying how many coin are in our wallets. I think its not only foolish to boast on a public forum but in poor taste. By that same logic...I dont feel any need to hide these things either. I can and have documented where my hodling's come from.

Oddly enough it wasent Bob's finaincials that I was slightly worrying about..it was hes state of mind. For someone ready to step into the next path of their life he is sooooo angry!  /s

ASSLESS CHAPS
Fact of the matter I am just damn jealous of the way he pull's off wearing those assless chaps..I could never.

I am calling for a nice little spike within 36 hours.

Remember: NO LUBE !

EDIT: Meh. Pulled my sell wall @ $12.5k, for... reasons.

Bobbie..its going to be ok.

Oh.. you can gloat now, Toxic.

Yesterday, you were shaking in your boots regarding potential consequences of such an inaccurate BTC price prediction.

I will add that it seems that BTC prices are still in a kind of bouncing around territory, and even largely in the middle our current price consolidation range - perhaps $10k-ish to $13k-ish.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day..  /s

Naa..not my style JJG..I am actually concerned for Bob. Dealing with end game financials is enough to make anyone on edge. If anything I am still recovering from this Weiss report...left a sour taste I do believe.
