Perhaps Wallstreet views Bitcoin as an "uncorrelated asset" (read: not overleveraged and over-collateralized to the moon like equities)? Perhaps they know something bad is coming 12-18 months from now? Or that a Black Swan could come out of nowhere any moment?

I find it interesting how mainstream media is starting to label coins as "securities".

Yes the total coin market cap is in a much bigger bubble than bitcoin itself. It has increased 5,000% from the ATH in 2013 whereas the price of bitcoin has only increased 1200%.

Is a vacuum considered a bubble? Or is it just empty space being filled...

Yes, that's all of us on here tonight. I was wondering WTF I'm doing on this forum tonight. It's because I have no life except crypto at present.

Nah. It's the shittest night of the year. Fuck NYE. Anyone paying $30 to get into some bar that's usually free to have a crap time surrounded by fucksticks and shit heels is a cock honker.

True, and nobody knows what to do at midnight, so they usually congregate around the nearest giant clock in the freezing cold, cheer at midnight, then endure a five hour wait for a taxi back home.

whats going on here. private club, its builds a huge clock just for you folks, after a limo takes to your private jet and yall go home.

or am i in the wrong thread?

Thats what I was thinking...wtf??  Huh

Someone started the party without me!!

Warm wishes to all this New Years Eve. Lets bring 2018 in with some moon shots.

I'm prepared to take full responsibility for what has transpired here today.

I'm scared...

We had our chance and we blew it out our ass. We have only ourselves to blame. Smiley

Where the fuck you been?   Huh    We have been looking for someone to blame....

-snip-

After reading this it looks the coiled market revolves around Bitcoins intrinsic value aka fundamentals which is highly subjective and I personally believe to be overbought and that the market should be heading downward.
Well..when you get right down to it everything is subjective I suppose..  I do not think the market is anywhere close to overbought. I like to think a order of magnitude in use, interest, speculation and general "awareness" in the last year. All of this is but the tip of the iceberg. I like to equate it to a bullwhip cracking..cryptocurrencies are that energy potential traveling down the whip..the "crack" at the end is no where near yet. That shockwave when it hits fully will resonate thru the global markets for the next decade.

Predicting a market is very difficult unless you are controlling it.  Insider trading is an established practice on Wall Street( illegal but widespread). Bitcoin regulations range from little to none depending on the trading jurisdiction.
Always true..but even hodling a few coins allows for huge potential profits during swings.

So the insiders are artificially keeping the price of Bitcoin up hoping to lure traders into buying more cryptocurrency until they dump.
No no no..the insiders goal is to acquire more bitcoin..dont ever forget that.  Wink

For hardcore bitcoiners who see their wealth in coins and not fiat, a bear market is nothing, and is actually a good thing. It is a chance to get cheap coins, or multiply the coins with daytrading or margin trading. Since you are acquiring more coins, and your wealth is valued in coins, your wealth is going up, not down. It's all about what percentage of the pie you hold when Bitcoin is the world currency.

Give that man a cigar..

What was the chances to crack a private key? Like 1 in some billion? How is that hard for quantum computer to do? Perhaps it's already possible but they are not letting out pandora's box yet.
its one in some 2^256 give or take some bits (maybe its actually 128). But I bet mathematics will catch up and solve reverse EC without having to brute force it, and also all your computers and devices will be bugged by hackers and the government, cameras, drones, and EMF fields, or they will just be able to read your key via teleportation, or the police could just torture it out of you the old fashioned way.

My coins feel secure until some quantum entanglement issues are resolved. And by then I believe zero fucks will be given.

Will the bunker be available after?  I have a stellar cleaning crew...i'm sure I can make use of it.    Grin

Yes. All I ask is that you set a place for me at the table every winter solstice and put my blackened pelvis around your least favourite guest's neck like a vile medallion.

You can find me around 900 metres below the surface of Franz Josef Land so you may have to ask nicely at the Russian air base. They come down for Twister sessions and heavy petting.

Today an order to sell the bunch of Stellars that I got for free as a bitcoinaire got executed at the absolute top, so I recovered almost a 3% of the total value of my btc. Against negativity try to cash in some shitfork dividends.

No. Death is now the only way out. With lots of shrieking, smoke and burning pork smells.

Bearfinex might take it to 10k soon lol.

Look into "coiled up" and markets...should help any hodlers on the edge.   Cool

I don't see bitcoin going back to $8000 because bitcoin never lost more than 45% in the past bitcoin market correction history.
"Past performance is not an indicator of future results."

Lots of signature spammers here. If bitcoin does drop that low, my only hope is that it'll kick your weak hands out. Smiley

The public..or groups of people amaze me...its like they have no short term memory...delicious.

...wanders off...now where did I put that vac suit...hmmm..

15125. Bought thy Fucking dip! Cheesy

Unfortunately I believe we might retest $13-14k.

dammit Torque...
I got filled overnight and was feeling all smart and stuff

I'm sure you will find a way to make her smile Jimbo

I saw got filled and make her smile and my dyslexia kicked in and I was off on a totally different tangent...

OT

I have to say the market is always able to surprise me. I am seeing some nice consolidation at 15k support and volume is rising but I fear if we dont blow upwards thru 17k then we are sideways and down for a retest of 10k.  Pretty standard stuff...what I think is new and unusual is all the movement seems...cushioned...I dont know how else to describe it. Its does not have the same violence I have come to expect from btc.  More exchanges..less float..probably dozens of reasons...thats my take.  Just remember where we are...

Happy Cryptomas all.

Won't load in chrome but loaded in Firefox...

Trezor trouble shooter screen wont load for me in IE 11 ever!

I can't believe any Bitcoiner would use some sleazy corporate browser like Chrome or IE when there's an honest open-source option in Firefox.

Oh this should be good...
