Whats usually the best way to make something more popular?
4262  Economy / Speculation / Re: I cracked Near the Bottom on: February 02, 2018, 11:05:17 PM
Hi,

I fell for the fud today and I sold most of my bitcoin around the 6800 - 6600 EUR mark. It got pretty scary for me as I've not been around for the past mass dumps and i've usually had my bottom so far from the top that any dips have been nothing. So I was really tried and tested today.

I'm looking to get back in and I wondered if anyone had any experience with this and could give me any advice. Should I look to buy back in at a loss just now or do you reckon to wait for another dip?

I know no-one can see the future, but just from past experience has anyone wished they'd bought back in asap or waited?

I have found over the years if I step away for awhile after a knee jerk reaction I have much clearer insight as to what direction I want to go.
Taking any financial advice..let alone from forum trolls is problematic at best. That being said the late weekend Monday dump area might be a good place to examine where you might want to re-enter the market.
Learn some tricks about how to manage your portfolio. How to split your fiat/btc ratio so you are selling some when the prices go up and buying some when the price declines.
What ever works for you..but find out what that is...and stick with it. Consistent asset management is the key to success imo.

Can't copy the text to translate it.  What does it say?
"Who said this(_____?)dont know this word) isnt stressful?

I have a great feeling. Be there in 25 years."

Something like that anyway. Perhaps someone fluent could help out more.

...

Excellent, logical and positive post! Would have +1’d but I ran out of spendable merit!

** If you need 2 merits to get one sMerit, will everyone eventually run out of sMerit?

There was the initial distribution of merits and smerits and the rippling effects of the initial distribution would be expected to carry on for a year or more for members to use their merits and then the halvening too, like you mentioned.

Yet, there are also 57 members that Theymos has designated as sources of about 12,000 smerits per 30 days, and Theymos seems to think that smerits flowing through sources will cause a sufficient enough supply of continued smerits rippling through the forum, yet it seems that it could take several months to determine how the merit system is playing out in terms of ranking up and flow of smerits, etc.

I doubt it will dry up, but there could be questions about whether it will be fairly distributed and what kinds of posts will attract the giving of merit.

The whole thing needs tweaking some more..seems to me. I dont have near enough merits to hand out. I dont want a shit ton more...but being able to reward comments daily and not run out seems like it would be a reasonable place to start. And another damn thing..some hero members had there merits raised if they where near legendary?  If so..what about all the other ranks that where close to ranking up? Its all kinda arbitrary.

Not that I really care..I still am going to give out the forked WOsMerits when earned  Tongue

slightly on topic...seems the east is wakening up and is not happy..more dump?

Wolf Of Wall Street Says Bitcoin Could Hit $50K Before Crashing

This is true? Or bitcoin is dead now  Huh

4268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2018, 01:25:21 AM
I have to admit theres a lot of big orders being thrown down at these levels.

Whoever is selling, thank you for the cheap coins. Appreciated as always!

4269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2018, 12:57:20 AM
Simple.  YOUR coins are in YOUR control.  If they are on an exchange, they are NOT YOUR COINS.  Not that User705 needs to hear this, but there are a lot of noobs that need it drummed into their heads repeatedly.
Missed this as the pages whirled by.
Yep..should be a sticky somewhere..should be a required opsec course to get a forum account instead of these dumb ass sMerits.

Three new posts by masterluc .....

https://vk.com/bitcoin_vanga

Edit to add:

1. Volumes fall, the subwave overlaps
2. A counter-trend continuation pattern is formed (flag)
3. Flashcross 50% for a month there are only bear traps. The present bloating is slow and painful
4. Weekly ma20 is not broken (by closing) for the time being
5. Did not climb into the zone of the previous wave ~ 7700

The situation and the truth is strange, but I'm still convinced that this is not a long blowoff.

goggle is questionable here
3. instead of 'present bloating' substitute with 'present deflation'
the last phrase should probably read as: "I am still convinced that it is not a long deflation [of btc bvalue]

Of note: Enky sold and vanga/ml called him out here: "Too bad, yet another tired poker player threw away his cards"
The other two posts are a warning for the future with some graphic detail re pissing and ... yourself (he says that people are pissing themselves now, but will do #2 at some point later, however since he does not think that current trend is down long term yet, it could be much later [I assume after a rebound or new ATH]

Right on..thanks for the update.
This cracks me up.

What makes you think they can’t sell “your” coins?

You can not haz my keys....ever.

Wasnt it just a couple months ago that eth fell all the way to some 0.02btc and now were already talking about the flippening again?

I don't think its a threat to bitcoin...but its getting closer.  .113/.138 etc/bch. I can see that happening I guess..but I have to admit I am probably biased.
4273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2018, 11:52:14 PM
I'm not at all sure it's over yet.

It seems like with bitcoin we will know it's over when it turns so fast it snaps your head back and we get a +5K hourly candle.

My thoughts also..where is the whiplash...I dont feel like I have been flogged nearly enough.

I am also curious when the flippening is going to happen. When will ETH over take BCH....I think its close.

Capitulation is nigh. Waiting for the daily probably.
More buying at $8100 perhaps.

However, while blasting bitcoin, the Indian finmin announced that India would embrace blockchain "The government will explore use of blockchain technology proactively for ushering in digital economy."

Bullish.

$8800 fib bounce now in..delicious. Last chance to step off for awhile.
4277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Descending triangle or symmetric triangle? on: February 01, 2018, 12:05:28 AM
I would say it has a good chance of reaching towards and bouncing off the upper trend line. The price appears quite happy at around 10k but the Lunar New Year approaches.

Are you drunk?
Where do you see any mention of BCH in the post you quoted?
it was -sniped-
but a drink sounds good about now..

What is the significance of 2/16?

Feb 16 is also Chinese New Year

I don't get it, the guy posts a bullish news article at a time when there is very little good news surrounding bitcoin (mostly just FUD) and you shit all over him? Who gives a shit if it's on that website? I doubt roger himself wrote the article (hint: he didn't). What's the guy shilling, Korean news? Lol.
I didnt "shit" on anyone..I simply stated don't come quoting articles from someplace owned by in my mind one of bitcoins biggest enemies.

How many governments have officially come out and said that bitcoin is recognized as having actual, real world value - not banning crypto currencies, or saying crypto is only used by criminals, etc. - especially in one of the biggest crypto markets in the world?
Quite a few actually..and while I am not 100% familiar with SK's judicial system..I do know unless its the highest court that made this ruling..it will probably go thru years of appeals and ratification's before becoming a "law".  I never had a problem with the article..it was always the source.

Did you guys lackadaisically brush off when Japan made BTC a legal currency? Or when Overstock.com said they were going to accept BTC, were you guys like, "whoopdi fuckin' doo, we all know it's got value, congrats company for figuring out what we already know"? No, we were all happy it was being adopted by a well known company where we could buy real things with our bitcoin.

I dont know what to do with this mess..accusation? statement?  question?...whats going on here.
4280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2018, 09:07:51 PM

$10,000 is a pretty entertaining psychological barrier.

There are the stubborn buyers who refuse to buy 5 digit Bitcorn, but snatch it up the moment it drops a mere 0.1% into "paltry" $9k territory.

And then there the stubborn sellers who refuse to part with 4 digit Bitcorn, quickly selling it the moment it rises a mere 0.1% into "lofty" $10k territory.

Up and down we go, like a see-saw.

Or like a fisherman at the $10k waters edge, trying to reel in $9k fish. While the fish are leaping out of the water determined to catch juicy $10k bugs.

The indecision in today's market is boringly maddening. Looks like we'll close on a doji.

Even the bot doesnt know what to do..crazy.

I didnt give much weight to the CME and futures but the price has been right there and if you look forward a couple months...well..this might be how Spring turns out. My suspicious side wonders if all those posts from a few weeks back about "what would you do if the price stayed ____?" were a focus group for tptb...
