3521  Economy / Economics / Re: holding bitcoin from early 2010 till today on: March 02, 2021, 11:09:47 PM
For me it is impossible, but I also don't know this is a fact that still holds bitcoin until now.

Because bitcoin has experienced several fantastic increases so I'm sure those who hold it will be tempted to sell it.

But if anyone still holds it today, be sure to be a very strong person in any situation in the cryptocurrency market.

I do not think that it is impossible but highly unlikely, given that most people who HODL their bitcoin from 2010 have to endure the painstakingly temptation to cash it out when its price doubled/tripled in 2012.

Maybe there are still some investors and people from the pioneer batch who still owns bitcoin but they most probably sold half or if not, more than half when its price increased tenfold in the past years. But to be honest, if I were in their position, I would have sold such btc maybe after 1-2 years of owning them. As far as I remember, I do think that satoshi hasn't spent any of his BTCs at this point.
3522  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don’t be lured by the promises of easy money! on: March 02, 2021, 04:26:03 PM
Nothing comes easy, you got to try and keep trying to make something work out for you, if you don't see life hardship as the way forward you will always look for easy way out and there is no such thing, every easy way out is fraud, a trap by scammers, have a mindset of getting paid for what you only worked for and things will be fine around you.

People who opt to choose this kind of method are also the ones who are newbies in the cryptocurrency world.

Unfortunately, bitcoin has been lately categorized as a scheme that involves making 'easy' and 'quick' money. However the truth is, investing involves significant amount of risk on the part of the investor. With this in mind, scammers are taking the opportunity by devising all kinds of schemes and scams just to take advantage of this bullish run.

I advise newbies that before they transact to any other persons on the internet, it is best to seek advice or to research first before delving deeper into this kind of scheme before losing any money!
3523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders - May 8 on: March 02, 2021, 03:28:23 PM
<snip..>

Ahh the coincidence of this fight happening on my birthday! This will definitely be a gift for me to watch another showcase of Canelo's raw skill, power, and evasive reflexes in his fight.

As per the records of Billy Joe Saunders, he is undefeated (30-0-14) but his KO rate is relatively not that impressive. This would be more difficult compared to the recent fight of Canelo but I will still be rooting for him in this fight.

Based on the posts in topic, no one again believes that someone can beat Canelo. Looks like Canelo should move to another division or even skip one to find proper contenders. Or stay in his middleweight +/- 3kg division and beat everyone for second time. Bored with Canelo, gonna cheer for Saunders this time Cheesy

Haha I understand where you are coming from but I do think that the fights of Canelo are interesting enough. The skill and the accuracy of his punches are just impeccable to watch.
3524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where would you sell if you had bought 10 Bitcoin at $100? on: March 01, 2021, 10:34:00 PM
Honestly, if I were fortunate enough to have BTC at that year when its price were below $100, I would have sold those bitcoins at this price.

If you were to check its price at that time, you would have feel that there is already profit waiting. You would not feel guilty as much since you literally have no idea that bitcoin would become this big, like what is happening right now. I know there are lots of posts about people trading their early garnered BTCs for something (i.e pizza bitcoin), but you cannot blame them as at that time, it was considered profitable at their end.

Are you working sa government or a private company? May mga sanctions ba kung sakaling nag invest ka dito? I am very curious as to what may happen if nagawa mo mga ito kasi as far as I know, legal ang bitcoin dito sa Pilipinas.

3526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What games are best suitable for PvP gambling? on: March 01, 2021, 02:54:48 PM
I believe that cryptocurrencies can revolutionize PvP gambling and turn it into a big industry. In PvP gambling players play against other players and also bet against them. The most widespread and successful PvP gambling game is poker, but what other games do you know that work well in gambling? Before the Internet some people gathered in parks and played chess for money, but nowdays it's hard to play chess competitively on the internet due to the power of chess AI. Also, there are altcoin projects that allow people to challenge each other and bet on popular online games like CS:GO or Dota, but so far they didn't accomplish any major success.
So, what do you think the perfect PvP game for gambling should be?

Perhaps Tekken would be a good gambling pvp game since it involves skill and timing from both the players.

With regard with chess, I think that it can also be an avenue for pvp gaming. There are certain websites that cater in playing chess online (chess24, chess, lichess, etc.) with different game types (blitz, rapid, classical). As an avid chess player, this will also increase its player base which has the potential of attracting new players to the game.

3527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I convince people that Bitcoin isn't a financial pyramid? on: February 28, 2021, 03:36:45 PM
Based personally from my experience, you actually don't convince them in the first place.

People who are closed-minded, usually the elderly who are used to the traditional methods, can be a pain in the ass to convince about cryptocurrencies. Even if you show them actual results and data, if they choose not to listen, then they wouldn't really do anything about it. The only way that you can convince them is if they personally stake or try investing into such in order for them to realize the potential of investing into bitcoin.

Again, you cannot convince someone who is not interested in the first place as it would only result to a waste of time. Just let them be and let them personally be interested into it.
3528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what was the highest Merit given on Bitcointalk ? on: February 28, 2021, 03:03:18 PM
Thanks a lot that was the answer i asked for, Thanks for the link too that was helpful

i found it hard to get Merits but i will try to post useful posts to achieve that .

Trust me, if you try to chase for merits then it would be relatively harder for you to earn them. Contribute quality posts or share your experience with cryptocurrency in general as it might garner the attention and focus of other members, which could garner you a merit.

The more you think about earning them, the more that you will be pressured into posting helpful topics which could hinder you further. Do not treat it as a competition, treat it as a learning experience and mechanism for you to improve your post quality.

Like what I have mentioned, if you contribute quality stuff, then merits would be the one chasing you! Good luck and have a good day.
3529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim - February 27 on: February 28, 2021, 01:39:11 PM
I watched the entire fight and Canelo dismantled Yildrim in three (3) rounds.

Those three (3) rounds show the deadly accuracy, raw strength/power, and skill of Canelo as the best middleweight division champion of the world. His power shots were mostly felt by Yildrim and he was not able to recover after he got knocked out from round three. I am definitely excited for the future of Canelo and his other fights in the future. His accuracy on his uppercuts were just beautiful to watch!

Hi,

Upon checking your downloadable wallet, I scanned it using virus total and it showed that there were some malicious files installed in the wallet. However, there is a chance that such may be a false-positive presented by virus total. I do invite you to check and to further validate the files in order to avoid any confusion/doubts on the project. Please check the reference below, thanks!

3531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: February 27, 2021, 06:47:49 PM
well, i been thinking for a while about who actually controls the bitcoin price.
among the following below, which one do you think has the major influence regarding the bitcoin price?

i. bitcoin whales
ii. the banks
iii. wall street
iv. hedge funds
v. crypto exchanges
vi. crypto influencers

Mostly, the law on supply and demand primarily dictates the value of bitcoin in the market.

Due to the nature of bitcoin having a determined amount in circulation (21 million bitcoins), the price may be dependent upon its supply/demand depending on the circumstance. Given this circumstance, whales, who own majority of the amount of bitcoins, have the potential of manipulating the price to their liking. In addition, you may also include external factors (i.e. government prohibitions, country regulations, etc.) on what drives its value on the market.

When a country accepts/prohibits the circulation of bitcoin, it may indirectly affect its price on the market.
3532  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deontay Wilder: He makes another WILD conspiracy theory about his loss to Fury on: February 27, 2021, 03:18:42 PM
A poll has been added now. I am looking forward to how the voting plays out.

Nice, I voted for:

He is mentally unwell and is need of professional help

I think it's pretty obvious that Wilder may have been psychologically affected by his lost to Fury because of his claims and excuses and blames everyone and everything, including his heavy ring walk custome, his former coach Breland, who he said spike his water and is working on the side of Fury. The only reason why he loss is that Fury is the better man and he can't accept that.

Like what I have mentioned before, there are some fighters that claim that their defeat was due to an external cause (i.e. the other fighter was cheating, the scorecards were bias, etc.) but in fact, the problem is internal.

In Wilder's case, I think he is on the latter reason on why he lost this fight. Instead of focusing on the next fight, I think he is spending more time on blaming these external causes instead of just improving. I mean, it is relatively difficult to say especially that I am not on his shoes but he needs to be man and accept defeat in order to move on.
3533  Economy / Economics / Re: The volatility in the price of a bitcoin is falling over time on: February 26, 2021, 03:55:14 PM
<snip..>

This is a very interesting chart to look at and people should take advantage while the price of bitcoin is in the dip.

By basing it primarily on the price history index, the price of bitcoin has been always volatile- thus, it may increase/decrease at any given time. Currently, the price of bitcoin is in the dip and I personally believe that people should purchase and HODL bitcoin for the time being. Give it maybe after 4-5 years, the price may actually increase like what has happened in the past 5-6 years ever since its inception.
3534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: February 26, 2021, 02:45:25 PM
This is actually very good news.

I do hope that the topic about bitcoin also focuses on the blockchain technology as a whole and its technicalities. People are actually underestimating the use of the blockchain and its modern application in our day-to-day activities. The true creation is on the blockchain as it eliminates the need for a third-party consensus in handling all of our monetary needs.

I applaud your school as they have acknowledged the limitless possibilities of the blockchain and bitcoin as its currency in the future. I also hope that other universities start to teach the same subject as what you have.
3535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: February 26, 2021, 05:07:48 AM

We dont know if this fight would be his last before he do retire.Actually there's no need to prove out more when it comes to his greatness in the career of boxing.

He had achieved those things that havent been achieved or attained by other boxers. It would be better if he do just focuses into this current job as a senator
rather than on continuing boxing but we cant blame him if he do really loves boxing.

A boxer will not retire if the body can still take it, between the body and the mind the first one that is going to surrender is the body, a boxer's motivation is always there but once the body cannot react to what the mind is saying, then that's the time he will consider retiring, so far Manny Pacquiao is doing great, between now and two years there's a lot of changes, we'll now see if Manny's body can still take it and his body can still follow what his mind is saying.

This is potentially dangerous. Even if Manny feels like his body can handle the amount of stress and punches he could take, once he reaches the age of 40-60, then that would be the time that he would feel its impact and damage.

Lots of famous boxers have been permanently incapacitated and injured due to the prolong continuation of this sport. While its monetary rewards may be considered one of the highest in terms of payment, its toll on the body too is the most in terms of risk. With that being said, I really think Manny should consider this to be his last fight.

3537  Other / Meta / Re: Is it impossible to level me up? The Merit questions of member guy on: February 22, 2021, 11:51:22 PM
Judging by your post history, you mainly post on topics which are filled with spams. Also, people rarely merit users under the altcoin section. If you truly want to earn merits, improve your post history by contributing something in the forum. I know it is easier said than done but lots of users who started as a newbie managed to earn thousands of merits in a matter of months.

Don't be in a rush and just take your time learning every step of the way.
3538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Owning One BTC In 2035 Will Make You A Millionaire on: February 22, 2021, 11:17:48 PM
As someone who lives in a third-world country, earning 1 BTC right now could make me a millionaire now by today's standards!

I wholly agree with your statement. The primary thing to do as someone who is given the opportunity to earn BTCs is to HODL them. Who knows what could be the price of the BTC by 2035? But imagine, some people who invested back when BTC first started did not know about the potential of its price as of today. The sky is the limit when we are dealing with its price. I will probably save my BTCs now until I retire and maybe enjoy its benefits when the time comes!

Seriously I do not get why old people keep on investing in old things. I lived in an age where online world wasn't something everyone can reach to, obviously I was very very young during that period but before 2000 we had hard time connecting, it took like nearly an hour to open just one image, I remember those days, and I remember days where investing into computer stocks was seen as high tech and very risky and dot com bubble "showed the world people should not invest into those things because they are risky".

At the end of the day the more you live, the more high tech stuff you will find and world will improve more and more and more. If you keep investing into old stuff you are not going to make any money and eventually will start to lose money, whereas if you live with times and invest into high tech and brand new loved things like crypto you will make more money.

Old people are relatively used in the traditional way of doing things. Whenever something is introduced to them which is more convenient, faster, and reliable, they tend to deny this and stick to what they have been doing for years. Maybe, it hurts their pride whenever they see that there is a better way of doing things.
3539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience is the Key on: February 22, 2021, 10:31:55 PM
Just to share you about my story regarding patience, I learned it the hard way as I wasted the opportunity of earning a significant amount of BTCs when I failed to HODL them.

Last 2018 when I joined this forum and as a college student, I was a young and naive boy who just wanted to take earn money in order to buy some superficial things. Every time I receive my BTCs which came from campaign signatures, I would withdraw those BTCs and convert it to fiat via our local exchange. I did that until the last quarter of 2020. I was scrolling and checking my blockchain history when I saw that the total number of BTCs I gained ever since 2018 was 0.5 BTCs (around $27,000 now). If I just saved those BTCs, I could have bought my father the car that he wanted for so long since I owe my success to him.

That's right, everyone. HODL your BTCs and be patient! You will never know as the sky is the limit when it comes to its price!
3540  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans are cheap good time to use loans for Investment in btc on: February 22, 2021, 02:01:56 PM
There is no signs that Bitcoin will slow down!

The risk/ratio reward telling that If the loans are cheap with low% its good to invest in risk assets like Gold btc and even property.

Even better If you can do day trading swing or intra day even you make just 1-3% daily.

If you have job and income and money to borrow its cheap now its not bad at all Smiley

I highly advise that if you were to invest in btc, avoid purchasing them using money garnered from loans. Even if the bullish run provided an opportunity for more people to invest short/long-term, there is no absolute guarantee that you will experience profit.

There are too many risks associated in loans especially when you deal with a currency that is highly volatile in nature. What if you suddenly needed the cash and the price of dropped unexpectedly? Purchase bitcoins only when you are comfortable with your finances. Risking everything for something that is not guaranteed is a problem waiting to happen, like a hanging sword of Damocles.
