3601  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] CatDeFi Scam project on: January 31, 2021, 07:42:45 PM
I commend your investigation work, OP.

These kinds of projects may seem harmless at first but when you dig deeper into their information, you would soon find out that almost all of their contents are recycled crap from different existing projects. I read their WP and it seems like it the information is too generic to the point that some of the contents are being used by other projects as well.

Continue your investigation to other projects as well, OP.
3602  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading Bitcoin in Africa Is a Way for Some to Escape Poverty on: January 31, 2021, 07:13:12 PM
<snip..>

I somehow disagree with this post as it is relatively misleading.

According to an article published, trading cryptocurrencies somehow amounts to a loss since 97% people who traded experience little-to-nothing profit in a short-amount of time. In addition, the remaining 3% of the people who profited amounted to an earning which is equal to the wage of a bank-teller.

If you truly want to eradicate poverty, there are several factors that you MUST consider (i.e. job opportunities, education, infrastructure, etc.) Trading bitcoin alone cannot eradicate poverty in a given country especially if you can consider that bitcoin runs within a technological environment, which some third-world countries lack.
3603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About people that bought too early [and lost them] on: January 31, 2021, 05:52:46 PM
I remember way back in 2013, I had a friend of mine who mentioned about online currency in which he mines for it everyday. Fast forward to this year, when I asked about this 'online currency' which turned out to be bitcoin, he mentioned that he stopped mining due to the complexity and technicalities of technology for his PC. He was able to mine around 10 BTCs but he subsequently lost his hardware containing those bitcoins.

Imagine if you can just find that hard drive of his, you'll be an instant millionaire. Like compared before, the value of BTCs were so little that people would trade thousands of btcs just for something that is convenient/useful.
3604  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Small Business that accept bitcoin or cyptocurrency here in PH, worth it ba? on: January 31, 2021, 04:18:26 PM
Sa tingin ko okay naman na tumanggap ng payment through bitcoin mas okay nga yan mas mabilis ang trtansaction, at the same time ngaung pandemic mas okay for health safety, ang nakikita ko lang na maaari magkaproblema diyan, ay ang sa gobyerno once na magboom at maging sikat yan dito sa pinas sigurado, kukuhaan yan ng tax, at maari na malaki ang bayaran dahil kalimitan ganun, alam nyo naman sa pinas, basta sa ganyan, pero all in all okay yan for us, malking tulong yan.

I do agree.

3605  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting a user who just merited you on: January 31, 2021, 01:57:06 PM
But I have to admit, I visit post history sometimes to send merits especially if someone very near to rank up. I just try to help them to achieve their desired rank.

I agree with this as I am one of those people you helped in ranking-up!

I still remember the time when I was about 30-40 merits away from being a Hero Member and you suddenly merited some of my accusation posts, together with Rikaflip and LoyceV. With your combined efforts, I was able to attain those merits and subsequently ranked up.

To be honest, until now, I still feel indebted to what you guys did to me and I really want to at least bring back the favour for what you guys did! That is also why every time I see a user who is near in ranking up, I make it a point to help them by meriting some of their post!
3606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Naoya Inoue vs Michael Dasmarinas (No date yet) on: January 31, 2021, 10:25:09 AM
Japan's Inoue will have to defend his belt against IBF mandatory Michael Dasmarinas of the Philippines.

So let's wait for the final date, we still have the Covid-19 situation though, I speculate that the fight could be held around May-June.

I remember, I watched the fight between Donaire and Inoue, in which Inoue dismantled Donaire in a 12-round fight. Although Donaire was already reaching his prime, he managed to stay toe-to-toe with such lethal and deadly japanese fighter.

Now that there is another match between Inoue and a Filipino, I really bet that this match would be exciting and explosive as the one that I have mentioned above. If Dasmarinas wants to get this win, he really needs to grind hard and to develop tactics as Inoue is just a devastating fighter and a puncher.

Hi just to give you an update, upon checking the website link that you posted and the corresponding twitter account, it seems that both of those links are not working. The website's IP address cannot be found and the twitter account states that such profile does not exit.

In order to at least provide further details about the project, kindly fix the website and provide all the necessary details on such platform. Also, include a whitepaper and if possible, a photo of your respective team members that worked on the project. Thanks.

3609  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin remain the biggest cryptocurrency at the end of 2021? on: January 30, 2021, 09:26:45 PM
many people thinks that etherium will take the place of bitcoin soon or later. what do you think guys will bitcoin the remain the biggest crypto in 2021?

Can you please elaborate further on whom you are referring to as these 'people'? Again, without any sufficient information and valid basis for this claim, this should not be taken seriously.

Bitcoin, the leading and reigning currency, will remain in its top position until another cryptocurrency will be able to defeat the number of sales in the market. In addition, even if there are other cryptocurrencies which are relatively 'better' in terms of convenience, if people would not purchase that coin, then its value will not/never increase.

What determines the price of bitcoin is the amount of people willing to purchase it at such price.
3610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you don't need to think of ranking up? on: January 30, 2021, 09:07:01 PM
I remember newbies complaining about the difficulty of ranking-up but the irony is, they are also the ones who mainly spams and post on bounties.

Like what I always mention to posts about ranking up, the more you think about it, the chances are that you will not be able to rank-up. I agree with the post of OP that you need to focus more on contributing actual knowledge, experience, and guides about any topic relevant to cryptocurrencies. In this way, you are developing your knowledge in general and, if, people find your post useful, you will be able to earn merits.

Again, do not chase for merits. Contribute something and merits will be the one chasing for you.
3611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin is like planting trees on: January 30, 2021, 10:10:36 AM
Buying Bitcoin is like planting trees. The best time to do it is 10 years ago. The second best time is today.

I like the metaphor and it very well complements the idea behind investing in bitcoin.

Like what I always mention whenever my friends and peers ask me a question about the 'best time to invest/purchase bitcoin', I always tell them that it is today! Today, meaning that the moment you find about its existence and understood the technology behind it, then purchase as soon as possible. Due to its high volatility, many would consider bitcoin as a 'short-term investment' but I learned it through the hard way that you just let time do its thing on its price.

3613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua on: January 29, 2021, 05:35:09 PM
I maybe in favor to Tyson this fight if in case their match will likely to happen as he has an advantage in terms of talent, experience and record. Though Joshua can't be belittled also as he has a good record even if he has 1 loss, he is also a great fighter so I am pretty sure that this fight will be intense and it will be worth to watch.

If both fighter will be in good condition then I guess there is a big possibility that it will not last until the last round as there will be a KO for sure especially that both fighter has a punching power.
This duel between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will be the greatest fighter in the history of heavyweight boxing in England, which is both interesting to witness as well as to prove who the number one heavyweight boxer in the world is.
It looks like AJ is very ambitious and will challenge anyone who has the world title, he will challenge him including Fury.
and usually if the challenger is arrogant and the ambition to win the fight will be very easily defeated.
and this fight will be very interesting and intense and will generate a lot of money.

At least both fighters are interesting to watch rather than put your money on Mayweather vs Logan Paul, right?  Tongue With Fury vs Joshua, we are watching real fight here.

The fight between Logan Paul and Mayweather is obviously a fight with business on their respective minds as they know that they will earn big bucks. On the other hand, the fight between Tyson and Joshua will arguably go down as one of the most anticipated fights in heavyweight boxing history.

As what I previously mentioned, the raw skill and talent that Tyson has is unparalleled at the moment. Don't get me wrong, Anthony Joshua is a tremendous fighter but I have to go all in to the Gypsy King on this one. Just watching him evade and get those points is just pure art.

How do you increase the ranking for beginners?
please guide because I am still a beginner  Huh Huh Smiley Smiley
because I don't know what to do

First and foremost, welcome to the bitcointalk forum!

From the name of the forum itself, this was created in pursuance of seeking knowledge about the world of cryptocurrencies. Lots of experienced and beginner users share their experiences, knowledge, and guide about anything to do with cryptocurrencies circulating in the market. If you are aiming to rank-up, familiarize yourself with the basic rules in order to avoid spamming.
In addition, always make sure to avoid plagiarism and to always be original. Try your best to share anything that is interesting in the cryptoworld so that people would merit your posts.
3615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CRANE is a DeFi platform that provide yield on your crypto. on: January 29, 2021, 01:33:22 PM
Hi upon checking the contents of your website, I observed that the token information of your project directly copied VIDYGOLD.FINANCE'S information on their website. This observation constitutes a prima facie evidence against the genuineness of your project and failure to refute such would compel me to open a scam accusation against this project.

Kindly check the reference below, thanks.

3616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin transaction fees be too high in the future? on: January 28, 2021, 09:36:32 PM
This is the chart of Bitcoin's Avg. Transaction fee: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html

Right now the median fee is about $2. After lots of halvings the reward won't be enough to satisfy the miners. I guess that after a decade, bitcoin will be more widespread, as a result, more transactions will occur every second. Won't this increase the median fee? If it does, bitcoin will start being a not-so medium of exchange. Imagine paying $5 for a transaction. Even paypal doesn't charge that much.

Yes and this is inevtiable.

Be reminded that the transaction fees are what miners get as a reward from every transaction they process. As the supply of bitcoin eventually gets mined up, the price will significantly increase along with the transaction fees but the price may also differ depending on the supply. Just think that when all of the bitcoins are mined, what will be the main source of income of miners? They will now depend on these transaction fees and that will be their main focus.
3617  Other / Off-topic / Re: Plagiarism check for all on: January 28, 2021, 06:15:58 PM
What constitutes plagiarism is that you are causing it to appear that you own the information/study, when in fact you do not, and you post such information without attributing or giving credit to the original authors.

I would also like to mention that there seems to be no accidental plagiarism as it cannot be remedied by just saying that 'it was an accident'. In the process of creating something, you purposely copied it without even thinking that you are going to give credit to the original source.

I have seen lots of plagiarized WPs in the forum and mostly these are brand new accounts/newbies who take advantage of people by scamming them. If newbies really want to gain merits through posting, they should always be original and different.
3618  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin's price drop to 30K healthy? on: January 28, 2021, 02:47:26 PM
https://www.fr24news.com/a/2021/01/analysts-say-bitcoin-price-drop-to-30k-was-healthy-and-necessary.html

Analysts say Bitcoin price drop to $ 30K was ‘healthy and necessary’

This is relatively hard to answer but purely basing it on my experience, the drop is healthy as it remains and stays at $30,000.

In this bullish run, the increase on the price of bitcoin has set and has stabilized for the time being. I remember way back in 2018, its price remained consistent around $4,000-$5,000 in a month and it significantly increased on the last quarter of that year. Although basing the price PURELY on history may sound outrageous and without basis, I would still advice to keep your bitcoins for long-term.

3620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Ben Askren on April 17 on: January 27, 2021, 05:04:40 PM
Although not on the same level but this fight kinda resembles the fight between Mayweather and McGreggor where both of them have excel at their respective fields. I have not seen any of the fights of Jake Paul but I have watched Ben Askren in UFC (where he got KOed in a few seconds).

To be honest, this fight does not hype me that much due to the fact that the other is an amateur in boxing. Though I am not sure if this is a fundraising activity or a real fight, it won't get my hypes up but I might watch it though.
