Weird stuff is going on. Yes BTC is kind of putt putting but my kid is going on about his DOGE mining (I've reactivated a few Titans, and they are fucking PROFITABLE?HuhHuh ON DOGE?Huh? IT'S THE GOD OF SHITCOINS!!!!!)

So what's up? People just nuts? I'm not seeing relative movement on LTC, it's still pegged at .004 to a BTC instead of the .012-.018 before the 2019 implosions.

Any advice on how to stop Smoking Cigarettes?  Grin

I gave up pipes and cigars a long time ago. Part of it was switching to a different stim drug (coffee, now meth), the other part was restricting when and where I could light up. Now it's down to craps tables and bars in Vegas. And yes, it's still nice.

The other oddity is to find something to do with your hands and mouth. I still chew on pens, and hold them just like cigarettes....

COIN will close the day at 250$  Roll Eyes

Fuck fuck fuck Wall Street. So fucking corrupt.

I just did the math. Had the public been able to invest directly in Coinbase stock pre-IPO back in 2013 at $0.20/share like the exclusive angel investors, they'd all be up 1250X their investment. Likely much better off than just putting that money into Bitcoin in late 2013.

(Although I'm not saying not to buy Bitcoin, that's a no-brainer to own the underlying asset directly).

This is why the 1% gets filthy rich on stonks, while the general public gets shut out of the game.

Well, sure, but so many people bidding at that time would have driven up the price per share. You can't rewind the past and just change one thread, don't worry about it :-)

Ah, up we go....

Well I just got a nice brand new 30 amp hardwired service run out to my little work shed. Conduit, direct run, Square D service panel, the works.

My little S9 miner is now happily chugging away. Before it pulled 13a and was dragging a 120 volt line run via a 10 gauge extension cord down to 105 volts. Now the voltage drop goes from 120 to 117.

*Wow*. I am a happy camper. No more ghetto class power in there for me.

I completely separate one from another, but, admittedly, it is getting difficult to do with each additional step-up in btc.
Prior 85% plunges are cautionary tales, though...to not count your P/L too early.
EDIT: moar ATHs

Good point: You don't want to buy a lot of stuff that requires money to maintain without having the money in a stable place. The right thing to do is take out enough to support the thing plus all the things the thing needs (for example could you really park your McLaren on the street next to your townhouse? Probably need a garage, mechanic, etc) in the event that the bitcoin goes on a serious sale.

Same for work, I'd say make sure you have 10 years or so in the bank in case Bitcoin drops and you need to spend some time re-learning how to work.

I'm just trying to keep my skills sharp at this point. I'd become a marshmallow in about 30 days otherwise.

I've got my eye on this baby that is available locally, for just north of $300k.

Problem is, I have no place to store it right now Sad Don't want to get rid of our Porsches.

Fuck.

Yeah.... I'm drooling over this but I don't think I could fit in it period, certainly not with a Snell 2015 or later racing helmet....

Buying stuff like this is a bad idea. Then again dating redheads is a bad idea.

Wow! Guys!

I've just calculated that I can now use my BTC to cover my living expenses for the next 127.2 years!

Should I quit my job?

This is tough shit.

Depends on your living expenses. Is a new Lambo dropping into your driveway every day?

It is hard to take work seriously.

In the meantime got the summer racing tires on the Porsche this weekend. Time to hit the open road....

I certainly haven't spent 8000 hours on this. I hardly paid the whole thing any attention over the past year instead focusing on the likelihood that the government was full of lies and that industries like the cruise ship industry would collapse due to the whole "2 weeks to flatten the curve" being a lie. So I spent my time planning on buying a cruise ship at scrap prices.

That's really not a bad idea. The window for cheap Soviet subs closed a long time ago, sometimes I wish I had gone in on one.....

Right, let the guy think you're an extravagant billionaire who spends 30k for a set of towels. You're guaranteed to get the guy's best offer.
/s
*snort* "What???" "Sorry, just thinking. What kind of finance options do you have...."

Still, we did spend what now would be a lot of money on things. However no real regrets other than buying some gold bullion for btc to "diversify" at the 2k btc mark. Thank God I quit that job next to the coin dealer who took bitcoins or I would really be so completely fooked.

As for bargaining, I'm always cautious to do that on contractor work. I want the best job possible with no corner cutting, and I have found a fair price gets me an extra nice job that I don't have to worry about. So I might knock them down 10% or so or check to see what the profit margin is on the job. But no, I don't haggle down to the quarter, then I just get a job.

What was the saying: "Always leave a bit extra on the table. You then have a happy deal"

Nice.  I am getting 2 sheds to replace the 28 year old 1 shed I have. I will be losing 96 sq ft of space and gaining 112+ 112 = 224 square feet of space

Interesting. I have a 120+ year old 12*16 shed I'm putting 240@40a in tomorrow. Partially for miners, partially for heavy equipment. However I really want a garage on my driveway for the car with a lift. Getting tired of laying on my back under it, any suggestions?

Guy came by to discuss stabilizing the house foundation: $30k. I looked at him and said "so, about as much as a set of towels". (don't think I need it now, the house has not moved in 20+ years but still, good to know the cost)

Yaay we broke 60k (again)

you get the vaccine you will not die of COVID and you can't really spread it.

Assuming one survives the vaccination process...

Astra Zenica seems to be the only one with a problem at this point, and even that is an odds game. The above stuff is published peer reviewed studies as opposed to anecdotes and Facebook posts.

Personally I had 4 people I know die of this shit. I would say five, but B blew his brains out when he was sick enough that he needed to go to the hospital. So I guess that was a suicide. So far I seem to have no other effects from shot 1 other than feeling sleepy that afternoon and kind of punky the next day with arm hurting when I pressed on it till day 3.

On a happier note, some serious science on the vaccine effectiveness: Quick summary, you get the vaccine you will not die of COVID and you can't really spread it.

Fun fact, ABBA got famous by winning the Eurovision song contest in 1974 in Brighton, I watched it with some friends at a friends place in Rosengård (now a no go zone) and then biked home in the middle of the night, I was 14 and it was totally safe.
The song is called Waterloo, enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp1_OKawHYw

Sorry guys, I mislead you, I was 13, I really do suck at math.

That was pretty amazing. I always wondered, were they playing instruments live or was it synced to a track? I think it was live.

Two pizzas, Searing :-)

More to the point, yeah this coin has no purpose. If it is going to go somewhere it needs a purpose of some sort. Doge is worse than this coin, but it has a purpose (lulz) so it has value (which is so far beyond stupid I can't explain it).

So, what purpose does FJC serve?

*sigh* that Thiel quote is grossly misrepresented.  But whatevs...  There is no stopping the FUD train.

Would have been more believable if he had said "Iran".  China doesn't need Bitcoin since they already hold massive amounts of US debt.  They could easily use this leverage to slow US economic growth.  Bitcoin not required.

China and US have the same goals, citizen repression, china just doesn't have to hide it.
