Hm. I wonder if Paypal is running out of bitcoins again. Stop and marvel about the fact that they can never get any more than 6.25 coins every 10 minutes even if they owned the Earth....
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 24, 2020, 09:53:36 AM
And fuck yes, 19,000.....

Time to reset the alarm for 20,000....

And then it occurred to me: a lot of people do believe what he has to say, about anything, and for all intents and purposes they are (supposedly) in their "right minds." For whatever reason (ego, inability to admit they were wrong, mainly), a lot of people still unflinchingly swallow his ghastly tacky, overcaloric swill and down it as "truth."

I'd say if there's a revolution brewing, bring it on, if this is the caliber of intellect we're up against.
It's not that different from the signs at a Western Union warning people that sending money to unknown persons is probably a scam.

When people fall for a con game it's very hard to knock them.

Crypto-Cat? This Sleek 52-Foot Sailing Catamaran Was Just Bought With Bitcoin
While cryptocurrency remains a tiny niche of yacht sales, one broker has purchased Bitcoin miners to make it more mainstream.
Bitcoin was used to purchase a 52-foot Lagoon catamaran in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The buyers, introduced by Denison yacht broker Michelle Ropiza, purchased the sailing yacht using a combination of US dollars and cryptocurrency.

So 400k in bitcoins. That's 20 of them. Man this guy had better enjoy his boat when I steam by on my own cruise ship that I bought with 1 btc......

And +400K in fiat Wink
I know. 400k in fiat that could be bitcoin at 20k. Man this guy is going to be disappointed.....

I can't even begin to imagine how I will feel when it reaches $100k! This will be the "goal achieved" milestone for me. I will aim to always maintain at least 50% of my coins. Depending on the situation then, my intention is to only sell BTC whenever I need "conventional cash" for something. This will probably result in actually spending very few of my coins, as my living expenses are not too high. For me, a very important element of owning Bitcoin is the psychological factor. Just knowing I've attained "fuck you" rich status is enough. Lambos, hookers and blow may follow, but they are not my aim.

I will be giggling constantly like Skeletor.

God, we're *STILL* stuck in the doldrums of $18,500. What a total tragedy!

(Seriously I am giggling non-stop here in meetings.)

Well, personally if I come out of this year of weird and do exactly the same things that I did in 2019 I would consider it a spectacularly wasted opportunity and myself a total failure.

As Rick Sanchez would say "You survived a global meltdown and you went back to work at the carpet store? BOOO!!!!"

next time you are talking to a banker enjoy it as if you were able to watch some dinosaurs in rl. bitcoin is their asteroid.

And we are the little furry mammals, waiting to evolve....

One of the main reasons why we (at least I) despise banks, governments and corporations, namely their appalling bureaucracy and their slowness and horrible lack of efficiency, should be used as a protection against them. Fill out their forms and reply to their questionnaires in a way that satisfies them, and you'll probably be perfectly fine....

Oh of course. It's not that big a deal, bitcoins go through a special account at the bank that is KYCed and all taxes are paid and so forth. It's just annoying to see it going into every aspect of one's life. Plus I remember paypal hacks and know the damage having too much information out there can cause.

So if I don't need PP I don't need to give them even more data to lose. Plus there is that "if you don't control your keys, it's not bitcoin" voice that whispers in the back of my head.
811  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 21, 2020, 12:10:12 PM
why? if he has more coin and later the price goes stratospheric it makes no real difference what the price was that he just sold at in the end. if you sold corn at whatever price and now have enough fiat (or whatever) for your immediate plans, plus spare corn for later, its future value increase will surely suffice.

unless youre just a pure greed kinda guy. nothing wrong with that i guess but its not my gig.
It's 99% playful needling: Bob was really tightly wound up about selling for awhile, wondering, waiting for the right time, then he finally blew his proverbial wad. With that much build up you have to kid him a bit about it for awhile :-)

And 1% caution: Many people sold out at particular levels: $1, $50, $600 (me, towels), $3,000, etc. In each case we received goods or services that now appear to be insane in terms of value against waiting.

It's not quite greed so much as wonder at what bitcoin might become: A true reserve currency. That's incredible when you think about it considering that it's "just numbers"and all that. But it's numbers that can be trusted and it doesn't matter if paypal or governments or anyone tries to create more of it out of thin air: 6.25 coins will be created every 10 minutes and not a satoshi more. Thinking about the ramifications of that, a money that can't be shaved or faked or undermined is stunning.

When I think of it that way, there is a part of me that whispers "you know, 20k is just $20 again".

And to be fair: You sell when you need to, just try to make sure the reasons were good. The towels were bought partially to show my highly skeptical partner that yes this tinkering I am doing CAN produce items of tangible value. The coins sold for the car bought me something that has brought a lot of fun and pleasure to my life at a point where I can still enjoy it. Buying a couple of gold coins with bitcoins was *stupid* but it also got at least one coin vendor to see their true value and potential.

So we do things when we do them. Sure Bob could have waited longer to bail his beau out of bondage, but that would mean less time spent as free men. Doing it while they are young allows them to enjoy the passing of time, which is one thing that we each have a set amount of in life, and like bitcoins all the hoping and praying and whining in the universe will not add one second to our time allotted on this earth or one more satoshi to be added to our wallets. Only actions have the potential to do that.

Guess the final word on this is "make it count" and "if you sell it do it to make your life better in the fixed time you have left". If what you sell for increases your life's length, health, quality, and/or enjoyment then it's probably a good deal.

Otherwise, HODL!

There was this member called Eddie
Claimed he'd taken up with a new reddie.
He regaled us with tales
With many likely details.
But we all knew Eddie's reddy was his teddy.

Did I mention curves?
Well, I'm convinced. You got a Snell rated helmet?

Edit: Fuck it just crossed 18,950. Hey, remember when Eddie wrote 18.857 on his girlfriend's ass? Man that was so long ago.....

Thinking about this paypal thing and how simple it is to buy, I wonder if we're back to the time of $20 bitcoin.

The runups should be very..... interesting......

Hm. Apparently I can "buy" "bitcoin" in Paypal. However I have to set up a "cash account" and they want my SSN/TIN and DOB.

I don't think I ever gave them that before. Need to think about this for awhile.

He used some part of his stash to finally set him and Rick for life (or sorta) while still holding an extremely healthy stash that now he can let run to whatever price without much stress. All in all I think he did well hedging there.
Agreed. But much as we chuckle about my 8,000 towels we'll snicker at his billion dollar freed slave..... :-)

What a rip off. 0.5% spread plus a percentage when buying and again when selling. Greedy corporate slugs.

The transaction fees are based on how much cryptocurrency (“crypto”) you buy or sell. The exchange rate you’ll see before buying or selling crypto will also include a cryptocurrency conversion spread. There’s no fee for holding crypto in your account.

Purchase or sale amount   Fee
1.00 – 24.99           USD   0.50 USD
25.00 – 100.00       USD   2.30% of purchase or sale amount
100.01 – 200.00     USD   2.00% of purchase or sale amount
200.01 – 1000.00   USD   1.80% of purchase or sale amount
1000.01 USD+                   1.50% of purchase or sale amount
Much better than the average bitcoin ATM. Still, the fact that I can't transfer it into my real wallet means it's not really bitcoin. Kind of like E-Gold where they said that every ounce was backed by real gold. Kinda.

Guys.

My body is feeling pretty fucking ready right about now.
I still feel some sorrow that you sold so low. But things do happen and someone else needed those cheap coins.

Ah the days when a bitcoin was only $16,500. I remember them so fondly......

Definitely recommend redheads 100%!
My new one woke me up this morning (for my new awesome job) by getting on top.. Freckles and grey/blue eyes.. Can’t even see her eyebrows from more than 10” away, not a dark hair on her entire body.. Mmmmmmm... So yummy...
Corn is up..
Life is pretty good..
I have dated more than enough redheads in my time, got to the point where I had to call my insurance agent so she could properly adjust my rates.

Some believe you can get the hottie thanks to the lambo. The hairbrained ones, though. Maybe renting the lambo a few times to see if it works first is a good idea.
Make sure you can fit in the damn thing, they are designed for really teeny tiny people.
