381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important gambling success? on: November 12, 2023, 08:57:10 AM

I'd say it's a bit of both, but it depends on what you're playing, generally the basic principle of gambling is luck.. As a previous user suggested, you'll need some knowledge to play poker or sports betting; you need to know your teams and their performances. Other games, such as dices, slots, roulette (this sits somewhere in the middle as well in terms of tactics), and so on, I'd say it's pure luck, like the majority of them out there. So I don't think there's much to do in terms of skills in gambling unless you're into sport betting, such as football or basketball, and start learning more about the involved teams, or is willing to take up poker, or other card games.
Right now everyone including beginner gambler should know that any game where you do not need to read up or think up any strategy and requires you to push, pull or click on a button without doing any other thing is basically a game of luck. However if they need to do their homework and develop a certain strategy to win at the game where their effort determines the result to a degree then it is a game of skill.

Humans want to be in control of their outcome. They do not like to leave it to fate. Even so in gambling, any veteran gambler will tell you that skill bets luck in gambling. More times than not a players win in Poker or any other skill based game is because of the work they put in and not luck.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 08:41:47 AM
I will always choose stable coin over bitcoin when there is a market downturn and when transaction fees are high just as we have now. But the reverse is the case when the fees are reduced and are in a bull run. There are some gambling sites that I have tried using my local fiat and it worked without any hassle. Sometimes, I abandon cryptocurrency altogether and use the fiat. Mostly this is due to convivence and my preference. The is not fixed rule.

384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if some country decides to pay pension to working population in bitcoin ? on: November 11, 2023, 09:15:08 PM
What if some country decides to pay pension to working population in bitcoin ? What percent of people will agree to getting pension in bitcoin in your opinion  ? What will be the benefits and limitations of this occurrence in long term on people and economy ?
It should be a choice and not mandatory.

The younger tech savvy people will agree that when they retired.
One  of the limitations is that volatility my reduce the value of your pension.

386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Demystifying living a private life and your bitcoin on: November 10, 2023, 01:35:22 PM
On the first point by the Op of not sharing that you own a coin this is the most difficult thing to do in this present time. My reason for saying this is because everyone wants to be seen as a bitcoin expert. You see them with bitcoin icons and logos, they share a link to their Bitcoin or crypto master class, they brag about their apartment or coin they bought all thanks to Bitcoin and many more. They tell you how much they own in Bitcoin. They seek validation from the public which in turn becomes followership. It is risk they take without mindimg the repercussions. It's sad what happened to the X user. Hoping other people will take caution too.
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Bitcoin Nodes, Its Types, Functions and Benefits. on: November 10, 2023, 01:11:35 PM
Perfect explanation. I have been looking to understand nodes better and this is one of the best threads on nodes that is very simplified that I have read. At least it gives me an understanding and the background to dig deep into it. A question I would like to ask is, how do I run a node because I have seen places where people run virtual nodes. Between virtual nodes and the one you have mentioned where I have to download the software, which would you advise that someone who wants to start out with it do?

390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 06:32:46 PM
The real bull run will be caused by the bitcoin halving and as with ETF approval or not we will be in bull run come 2025 or late 2024 that’s where my predictions lies
Nothing is stopping the bull run from happening as predicted. Even if today we hear that the Bitcoin ETF has been rejected I believe it is already too late to have any significant effect or impact on the market and price of Bitcoin. A lot of persons are already adopting bitcoin as well as institutions regardless off the Bitcoin ETF approval. There for what should be on our minds is how do I accumulate more bitcoin before the halving.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 09, 2023, 06:07:06 PM

These comments can increase the fear and anxiety workers always had that these super-computers will replace them in future. What are your thoughts regarding the statement by Elon, do you think we should take him seriously?
It is true as Elon musk has said it artificial intelligence will put an end to work but not in the entirety of it. AI will not take over the jobs of astronauts working at space x neither will AI take over the jobs of the engineers whose work is to ensure that the machines are functioning at its optimal to assemble battery parts at Tesla. I also will not take over the jobs of people working at X, the social media company. What a I will do instead is that we would see better results output we would see efficiency we will see organizations meeting their key performance indicators as a result of these super human computers without have been utilised in their places of work.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What impact does the BTC price have on your gambling habits? on: November 09, 2023, 05:49:33 PM
Nothing. Bitcoin's price doesn't have any impact on my gambling habit. What has an impact on my gambling habit is the Bitcoin transaction fee. At the moment we are experiencing high bitcoin transaction fees which is causing me trouble. The impact this has on me right now is that I no longer do deposits with Bitcoin into my casino account, what I do instead is use the usdt for funding my wallet and gambling with it.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 07, 2023, 12:31:57 PM
Being patient and consistently involved in healthy gambling habits will surely make you a successful gambler. If you are newbie who is interested in gambling and has been following the gambling community here or any where online or offline, your purpose should be to learn as much as possible from the shared experiences of others such that you can eventually branch out independently, allowing you to operate without dependence on others.

Note that the most important thing in gambling is bankroll management and finding value. What messes people up is poor bankroll management.  Personally, I limit my bets to no more than 10 percent of my bankroll per day, I stop once that limit is reached.  Also don't get discouraged if variance comes in and you have a losing day, week, month, etc. Value is value and it will catch up.  Goodluck on your gambling journey.

Gambling oldies can throw in their 2 sats on this.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google's doodle for Bitcoin on: November 03, 2023, 02:19:08 PM
I do not mean to sound pessimistic but I think Google will deliberately try to avoid having a Bitcoin doodle because they may upset the Bitcoin market. Any doodle may be received by the public with positive sentiments resulting in price surge.

Even though I know googlers who are bitcoiners may have thought about it, but what the hell, I'm going to send that email.

396  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 03, 2023, 07:53:21 AM
Whatever plans we have should always be flexible. If you plan is to DCA weekly until you get to 1 bitcoin, it may take you a very long time. Meanwhile there are other ways to get to 1 bitcoin. Investing in altcoin, taking profit from it and buying more bitcoins is a flexible approach to reaching your one coin goal.

More than once, life has made me to pause or modify my goals. One such case is selling a few of my Satoshi to pay my house rent when the going was tough and I didn't want to borrow any money from anyone. It affected my plans. I was flexible enough.

Life happens when we are not thinking about it. So we must be very futuristic with our plans by thinking about all the things that could go wrong and making a buffer plan for them. Always be prepared and on guard for life's unexpected twists and turns.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: November 03, 2023, 05:24:09 AM
My question to the OP is that what is the difference between Spirituality and Religion? Because I think there is a huge difference. In the Christian religion, betting is called a sin likewise in Islam as well as some other religions. Spirituality on the other hand is ones connection to their religious faith - the things they do and not do, they behaviours others. The connection between religion, spirituality, and betting is not the same across all religions. With the advent of new age religions, some are more liberal and some conservative. My personal opinion on this is that, if you are going to bet, do what you will with your religion if you think it is going to be of any help in the result of the bet.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: November 03, 2023, 05:00:30 AM
The question I have to ask the punter is that, when they gambler losses does he send back the money used for wagering? If the punter is so good he doesn't need to be in another's man's business. If the punter is so good, he would have also played the gain an still won that huge amount of money too. The punter is just a greedy fellow. If I were him, I would be more happy that I am horning my craft well, I will be all over social media sharing this goodsnews and marketing myself. I will go on to create a telegram channel, where you have to pay to get access to the information -betting tips I share there and some be interested in what some person won and didn't give to me. That is absolutely insane.

400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: October 27, 2023, 09:53:12 PM
Better to do something that will keep yourself busy, I agree with physical activities since not just your body but also your brain will be used and with that, thinking back again in things that related to gambling may not be present as like what you say, possible that since the body is tired what the brain wants is to let that body to rest..

Giving that time to not to think of anything but to rest completely and just do the same thing the following day to stay clear and away from any form of gambling.
The best way to quit gambling is not to spend the day thinking about quitting gambling or avoiding gambling thoughts. Intentionally distract yourself. And the best way is to find a course and following it genuinely. It could be to teach school kids in inner cities or impoverish environments this is a good course to follow. To keep your mind busy and redirect your purpose and aspiration.

If this doesn't work then try learning a hard skill. It would definitely do it.
