381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 04, 2023, 04:41:00 PM
OP all the points you bring up here help a gambler stay safe while gambling. But out of all the things you mentioned here, 2FA will keep your gambling account much more secure. With 2FA enabled, no hacker can access your account very easily. I consider this 2FA to be the safest for gambling. Deposit with KYC confirmation within your specified points to be more secure. If your account is KYC verified then it will be more secure. With KYC verification, you can safely deposit your funds there without any problem later on. To me these two points are the most acceptable of your points because if these two things are active your gambling account will be very safe.
I believe that 2FA should be a standard for us all especially if our account has a value or has a value inside of it that can be a potential target for a hacker. 2FA is optional in many casinos today but I believe that casinos should make it a requirement to lessen their headache for hacking problems, at least they know that the issue will not revolved on not having 2FA. I also don't think that KYC verification will contribute to the security of your account, depositing or even on withdrawing. It would be better to choose a casino that has a good reliability when it comes to KYC because I personally haven't got any problem with KYC on casino even I'm not verified on some of the casino I am playing.
382  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Naipublish na nga ang data ng philhealth ng mga hacker on: October 04, 2023, 03:55:27 PM
Sad to see na nipublic na yung data na nakuha sa philhealth. I wonder if buong data yung nilabas or partial palang for negotiation. Ayaw ko din kasi idownload yun given na takot din ako sa risk involved like if may virus din or malware na nasa loob ng file. If buong database ng philhealth yung nileak nila is wala na, almost lahat kaya ito ma download at imagine nalang kung gano kalaking data yung makukuha ng mga makakadownload. For sure gagamitin ng scammers yung data na yan para makapang scam ng tao at worst is mag pangap sila para makapag scam based sa database ng philhealth. Lowkey expecting this to happen pero nakakadisappoint lang talaga.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Ever Made Such Mistake Before, But Won still? on: October 04, 2023, 03:26:30 PM
I don't usually do a mistake on my bets but I remembered before that I won accidentally one-time when I accidentally clicked x2 on betting amount before I set up an automatic bet on a dice game, It run for a minute before I noticed that it is set at x2 than my planned betting amount, I'm lucky enough to win something even if it's not on the plan. It's not something that is huge win but I'm lucky enough to not wiped my capital because of that mistake.

Reading this thread makes me think that it's not that uncommon to see someone who experienced wrong bets but still won.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Before you take sides on: October 04, 2023, 02:48:04 PM
We all know how people used to be protective when trying to explain how someone treated them badly, they always want to be the winner and if you are not smart you can fight the wrong war for them, later you will find out that they are the problem.

Gamblers are telling stories about how they got banned because they are winning too much, I will like to tell you not to believe everything people tell you, these stories typically have another side of the story, there is a high probability that these gamblers have broken some rules along the way.

For reputable casinos, banning players that have won a lot of money legally is bad for their business, the casinos knows that the word of the mouth spreads faster than anything, so I believe that a reputable casino do their strong research before they use their ban hammer.

Before you take sides with gamblers claiming they get banned for winning too much, remember that casinos are good at monitoring and preventing fraudulent behaviors, you break some rules you are out, and no cheater want to admit that they cheat.
There's a lot of post like that here and it's hard to accept the allegation instantly about the casino banning them. For sure there's a reason why the casino banned them especially if it came from a well known reputable casino. This is why it is important to have a active casino representative here to share their sides about the incident. We need the other side of the story to prove who is right and who is wrong depending on the reasons and proofs of both sides. There are casinos before who mistakenly banned gamblers and casinos who banned them for no exact reason, the allegations we seen before are also the same, just to tarnish the image of the casino.

Both parties had proof and reason = easy to find out who we need to side.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: October 04, 2023, 02:12:40 PM
If national lottery is included in this gambling advertisement, basically I've watched before when I was still a kid but now I haven't seen any of these advertisement on television anymore. I remember that even the draw of winners are broadcast live on our national television. I know it because my father is actively watching it every night. Aside from national lottery, I can't recall any gambling advertisement from any channels in my country that had flashed a gambling advertisement. I think casinos are prioritizing in doing advertisement on social medias given that I am almost seeing one everyday.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 03, 2023, 06:59:22 PM
It will be hard to manage but there are things to utilize every penny that you have. There are a lot of these tips in the internet but the famous once are utilize every penny that you have, make a budget in short. Be strict and focus on your family needs. Talk to your family about the income you only have, don't pretend that you have the luxury to buy the wants. Look for other source of income, explore and experience something that don't include paying on something to achieve that. Having low income doesn't mean it's the worst thing, it can easily changed with the right discipline.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 03, 2023, 06:34:26 PM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.
It really depend on you also on what type of business you are into. There are business that you can compromise on other things so that the cost will be lower but upgrade the things you compromised after your business grows. Another thing is the experience you have, if it's your first business, first option would be your best choice in my opinion given that first businesses doesn't succeed or grow as much as you expected. It's the experience what's important in growing a business. You also don't need to go all-in in your first business as it is your first business and you will encounter a lot of problem on your way.

If you have an experience and you know yourself that the business you are launching has a high chance of growing and the budget is strict in to that range, go choose the second option. There's a lot of factor in your scenario and only you can indicate what will be your next move.
388  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mga Artista Na Scam Ng Crypto Investment on: October 03, 2023, 05:58:12 PM
This is why kahit galing sa kamaganak ko yung referral sa mga kagaya nitong investment scheme is duda talaga ako. Too good to be true yung offer sakanila at alam nila yung, nagkamali lang sila na pinatulan nila porket successful yung front scheme nila na 5% compounding is mag titiwala padin sila. Kahit hindi too good to be true investment is ni reresearch padin dapat. One sad thing is apektado nanaman yung crypto sa public dahil crypto yung ginamit ng scammers at yung headlines is crypto scam. May maloloko at maloloko padin kahit na media na yung ganitong scam schemes ng paulit ulit kaya yung best na gawin natin is to educate people na wala masyadong idea or nabubulag sa possible returns ng pinapasukan nilang investment.
389  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Account ni satoshi Nakamoto nagtweet? on: October 03, 2023, 05:25:05 PM
Nope, not the real satoshi nakamoto. Since 2018 lang dormant yung account kaya hindi talaga ako maniniwala given na for sure alam ni satoshi how easy twitter backend can locate him/her. Matalino si satoshi at alam ko na hindi siya gagawa ng ganyan ka reckless na gawain. Maniniwala lang ako na active si satoshi if maging active ulit siya dito sa forum at mag post siya. Almost lahat naman tayo alam na this is the only platform na possible tayo mag ka connection sakanya and I hope na sometime in the future is bisitahin tayo ulit ni satoshi.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying ETH fees? on: October 03, 2023, 04:50:14 PM
2024 / 2025 (hopefully) will be my first bull run and the majority of my crypto is currently on cold storage and I am wondering if I should get some ETH ready now to pay for fees when it comes to selling or if I should wait till next year when I actually do sell - is there any difference?

I do not hold Ethereum but do have a few tokens that will require me to pay fees so wondering what is best to do have it ready now or if it doesn't matter and just wait till it actually comes to selling and pay then but obviously the price of Ethereum will be a lot higher next year then it is now so thinking is it best to buy now whilst cheaper?
It's better be ready than sorry. I guess you will get a little bit of discount if you buy ethereum today expecting that ethereum will sky rocket again in the next bull market. I think you only need a little eth for those future transaction given that we have some technologies in making the transaction cost cheap. Though I personally won't keep a erc20 without a gas fee to transfer it again, actually all major blockchains like BSC. I just like to be ready on future transaction and to lessen the hassle of instant buying a token in it's current price for the sake of the transaction fee.

If nag aaalala ka about tax, marami namang way jan para maging tax free yung pera mo like doing p2p physical transactions.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 02, 2023, 06:14:56 PM
When we gamble what we are looking after or expecting is money which is [profit] and when buy bitcoin and invest what we are looking after is [profit] and when you so many people they skip bitcoin investment to gamble and some uses very big amount of money to gamble whereas the same amount of money will achieve some fraction in bitcoin investment. So I come with this question to know the thing between this option or words I presented the one that done you more harm, if bitcoin  has done you more harm during the times you invested in bitcoin you can tell the public and if gambling has done you more harm by losing in gambling frequently you can also tell the public.

But for me I think gambling is the one that done people more harm than bitcoins investment, because almost every day people gamble with different platforms but its few of people that invest in a day or weekly, I will like us to discuss these.
There are people who see bitcoin investment is slow profit generating where in gambling, you can easily multiply your initial capital. It's different in it's own but if we are talking about profit, it's true that gambling can produce profit fast but the risk of it is so much higher compared to bitcoin investment. I personally had been addicted to gambling before and I know the fact that I lose capital more than I earn from gambling. It's one of the regrets that I had when I missed on investing on bitcoin because of my gambling addiction. I can say that gambling has far more risk than bitcoin investment not just on the financial side but on the mental side.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 02, 2023, 05:20:16 PM
I lowkey expected this even when we are still on the hype of NFT. Only believers or those who find the real value want to keep those NFT's but the majority of the market are not believers. Most of the people who are on the NFT trend are just there for the possible profit they can get out of the trend and now that the trend is gone, this is what the NFT craze ended. There are literally very small amount of people who are really willing to spend the amount they had just paid for the NFT they had bought during the bull market. If people somehow find NFT projects still profitable, there's a chance that we can have a recovery on NFTs.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: October 02, 2023, 04:23:11 PM
Can we expect any rewards , for participating in them in Q4 2023?
Due to projects that gave rewards to their users who participated on their testnets using their tokens, it simply became a trend and now we've saw projects that are doing it more than ever. Bunch of projects copied it but don't really indicate that they will have an airdrop for users who participated. So it's easy to say to don't expect rewards from them. Though the airdrop rewards nowadays aren't that high anymore compared to the past once and people who tried where demotivated because they experience losses because of mainly the transaction fee spent.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins are listed on top exchange? on: October 02, 2023, 03:34:26 PM
Every coin needs some basic things to get listed.  Which is not the case in all coins. Most of the coins in the market have very low liquidity and volume.  Listing on a good exchange requires a good team support and not only about money, but also a good background in coins. Listing a token requires a lot of familiarity with the token and a partnership on a platform.  Only those with volume are listed on most exchange platforms. Most of the tokens that are listed on major exchanges like Binance are well-ranked coins.
I don't think that all of the coins listed on a big exchange such as Binance are well ranked, there are few who are not that high on ranking and there are coins that are in danger with the delisting because they can't maintain their status of having a good volume. I don't think that every coin that is listed on a good exchange is good, in fact there are a lot of coins that are pretty much dead today that are listed during the bull market, those project easily get funded because it's the bull market but after the bull market, we can see that a lot of coins are being delisted. Being on a good exchange is a plus point on overall factor of a project but it doesn't it's good enough to trust it by putting all your money into it.

They are listed on Binance because they have the money to get listed.  Gone are the days when coins could be listed freely on the exchange even though they were just created because of the promising future volume of the coins due to their promising development.

Exchanges list coins because of certain motivations but all in all, it boils down to the trading profit generation of a project plus being able to pay a hefty sum of listing fee.
I can see how big exchange utilize their top spots. It is one of their biggest source of income to maintain the exchange. Projects could list their tokens into some random exchange nowadays for free but the downside of that is the investors wouldn't like that given that it is known that the best tokens are being listed on top exchanges like Binance. There are some sort of trust and hype from the community whenever a certain token are prior to list on big exchange like Binance. Big exchanges know this and I'm sure they want to capitalize on this that's why they are collecting hefty amount of listing fee.

397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges have to learn and improve on their security on: October 01, 2023, 05:23:08 PM
I agree that crypto exchanges must invest in better security, but there are also a couple of other things to note here. First, people must learn to only store what they're totally fine with losing on exchanges because a centralized platform is a risk not just due to possible hacks but also exit scams, mismanagement of customers' funds, etc. Second, crypto exchanges sometimes claim there was a hack, when in all likeliness it was an inside job that led to funds being stolen from customers.
I also stand with those who aren't sure KYC is that useful, especially in the context of security.
They did try their best actually when it comes to this matter because they are holding a lot of funds. It's just that robbers were sometimes too skillful to still access them. Sometimes an inside job can happen too. This is why it's important for the customer to follow the tips that you have said there.

About the KYC, I think it's only useful to combat money laundering. It was still an added risk on the customer's side because hackers can steal them. This is why many are against with it. Luckily there are still a couple of crypto exchanges who can allow their customers to use their platform without needing to undergo in a KYC verification process.
Exchanges has a lot of money and that is the obvious reason why hacker targets exchanges and other crypto projects. I believe that if you are a platform that holds large amount of things that has a value like crypto exchange, the first in the priority is security. A hacking incident on an exchange can put them into a burning pit not only that they can possibly have a financial burden but also the trust that their customer had put in them. No system is safe, there's always a way that hacker can intrude their system this is why exchanges need to prioritize updating their security.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What encouraged your continuity in Bitcoin investment and Bitcointalk forum? on: October 01, 2023, 04:53:02 PM
I've been there on the situation you are having. I stopped using this forum before when the time I was so demotivated and questioning myself why I'm still in this forum but after trying to get back, I realize I can still learn new things from the opinion of other forum members. I use this forum to have an update on latest cryptocurrency happenings though I can't deny that the signature campaign that I am currently participating helped me a lot in being active, I consider it as a bonus and an extra motivation to stay up to date in the cryptocurrency space.

If you are not demotivated on what you are currently doing, try to rest temporarily and think about what you plan to do in the future, maybe the plan you have can push you even further. I have plans and I am so motivated to push those plans into reality.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waste to energy; one of the solutions to BTC mining and adoption. on: October 01, 2023, 04:13:09 PM
I'm sure that the waste to energy conversion to support bitcoin mining had been carefully given consideration by big bitcoin mining companies but I doubt that they considered it. Given that the equipment cost and all setting cost is too high that the profit that bitcoin mining can produce can't sustain the cost. One other thing is the government, it would be lucky for the company if the government fully supports them with their decision but given that most of the countries are uncertain with cryptocurrency, I high doubt about the supporting part.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risk management and responsible gaming on: October 01, 2023, 07:21:33 AM
First of all, the government doesn't care if you lose your home and properties to gambling, and becoming a responsible gambler is your responsibility, no one cares if you turn into addicted gambler and you start sleeping on the street, and you named the government? They are the last people who want everyone to stop gambling.

Do you know how much the so called government are making from casinos? You need to do your own research, casinos are one of the country builders themselves, they contribute a lot to have a location and their business running in a country, it's left for every individual to think straight and be smart with gambling.

Gambling is not going to affect the countries economy, those people who own casinos are paying some good amount of money into the government's pocket, even if people start committing suicide due to gambling, the government will never eradicate casinos from the country, they know that casinos is playing a big role too. Do your own research.
Well that's true based on my experience. We had a gambling outburst on our country before where betting had became a normal thing during the pandemic due to boringness and of course people are trying to figure out on how to make money during the lockdown.

A certain online betting site that had been popularized in our country dominated and there are a lot of agents that encourage people to do gambling especially social media influencers who also got commission from referrals. Our government took action too late after the gambling outburst cause the masses to get addicted that also cause people to lost money. In fact, there are people who got some financial assistance from the government who use the money to do gamble, it's crazy. There are also various crimes happened like kidnappings which was showed in local media that force the government to take action and to seize the operation of that certain betting site.

Government won't shutdown one of their biggest source of income until the masses demand after experiencing negative effects from it.
